The best restaurants in Tendring East of England

I love coming here for my seafood. We look forward to it when we visit from London every year. Their food is always fresh and such good quality. The portion sizes are great for the money too. Even my teenage son is now a Dan. The staff are always so friendly too. The large seafood salads were sold out but they made me and son some up there and then. Very pleased with the service these lovely ladies offer.

I have had breakfast twice here. Prices are modest and food was reasonably good. The first time i waited too long for my order to be cooked. They seemed to be cooking 1 at a time! 2nd timr was quick. Od come here again for breakfast but there is a nicer place aboout 400 meters back from the beach...

Had a lovely meal this evening. Great food very friendly staff. We also went back in July to celebrate my 70th birthday again very good food enjoyed by everyone. Also staff very polite and efficient helped made my day special. Thankyou

Located on a busy street, lots of people, yet fast service. Food quality good.

This place is that slow that you need to park in pizza hut for the drive through hahahaha

I am sad to say this was the absolute worst Sunday roast I have ever been served. Undercooked sausage in bacon with foil still stuck on, everything else wildly over cooked. On that note I believe the cook (certainly not a chef) may have served me the sole of their shoe in place of 'roast beef' Some of the other food looked ok but this was truly inedible. We were going to stick around for cake but after the roast we felt ill and left. Staff were busy fending off other complaining customers. Photo was after I had "finished eating" 10/10 would not recommend.

Horrendous check-in. Never had this before! Doors all locked. It was pouring with rain. I banged on the doors, called thru letter slot. Was totally ignored. Pathetic effort to tape paper on main door saying to ring. I did. No one answered. Was soaked. 20 minutes later, I tried ringing again. (I had taken shelter in the local shop. He was a very helpful man). Eventually, I got let in. I chose this hotel for its proximity to the train and ferry. Folks, pay the extra, walk the extra, and stay elsewhere. Faulty Towers!

The only thing right was a cold can of lemonade, and if that turned out to be 7Up, let's not split hairs. It arrived with a warm glass, so I drank from the can and, as they had run out of glasses, returned mine for my partner's glass of squash, which was luke warm. The Veggie burgers had spent so long in the fryer that one of them had partially disintegrated and they leaked grease all over the plate. The (oven?) chips were dry and tasteless, the service was chaotic and painfully slow, and the whole place, in particular the kitchen, looked grubby. If your want to wash the grease off your hands, good luck. There aren't any toilets. We hoped for a decent greasy spoon for a quick and simple lunch, but it would be better to go hungry.

The Food is honestly the worst Chinese I’ve ever had . Just spent £60 in the and we have all not wanted to eat it after tasting it . Nice staff .. but the foods dreadful .

Been going to the barns for breakfast, lunch with family and friends for a couple of years Always great food ( new owners have kept the menu and added many of there own dishes ) The staff are always polite and friendly Please ignore any negative reviews and try for yourself you will not be disappointed Very good value for money also See you soon Lisa &nigel

I’m having a large break and a water coming in at £10.75 including drink Comes with 2 sausages 2 bacon 2 hash brown egg beans and toast I have asked for bacon to be well done And brought a bottle of water Staff are friendly and polite Bacon cooked to perfection looks good It’s good
