Good choice of food. Sandwiches were lovely. Good choice of drinks. Friendly staff. Pub clean and tidy. Will definitely return.

The port canteen. Had a good little roast dinner. Reasonably priced. Filled me up. The chicken was cooked well and was quite tasty. I've had worse meals from here in the past, seems to have turned around a bit.

It came nice and hot, as in very recently cooked and not cooled down much, and was bang on time. Almost the nicest Calzone I've had, made from proper dough and topped with cheese which was a nice touch, I've had these at other take aways and they've been done with pie crust rather than actual pizza dough?! The inside was just right, not soft and chewy or dripping liquid out of it, it was even cut up for me, the only ones I've had better are my own home made ones, because I can use fillings more specific to the things I like, whilst being a bit healthy. One thing that could have been better, there was no grease proof paper under it, so it had a soggy bottom, meaning I couldn't put the box down on the table like you normally would have, but a quick use of the plastic bag the sauce came in soon sorted it out, not a big deal, but I'm puzzled why it didn't have the paper in there to begin with. So on the whole, all things considered, probably an 8.5 out of 10, and I don't give high scores freely for anyone hat knows my food reviews. Lastly on a note, the driver didn't adhere to ANY covid regs, so because of that I've given the Service Score a minimum as there was no care for the customer in that regard.

We went out for lunch to celebrate a birthday. There were 4 of us and a dog. The food and service were excellent. The ambience was lovely and we had a good view of the grounds. Dogs are welcome in the bar. Plenty of car parking. We had a main course and drinks and coffee. The bill before the tips was £108 so very reasonably priced. We shall come again.

First time back in here since new management. It's safe to say The White Horse is back!! Fully stocked bar, good choice of beers, very welcoming host. It has only been back open a month, so they have started with a small menu to get started and it did not disappoint. Absolutely delicious food and served promptly. They have just taken on a second chef and are aiming to expand their menu shortly. Will definitely be back! Oh and their Christmas Dinner Menu looks delicious and very reasonabley priced.

Came here for sunday lunch with friends visiting the area. Excellent food with great service - very friendly and helpful. This is a very busy pub and they are well-organised to handle the large amount of customers. We really enjoyed our afternoon and would like to return. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely meal to celebrate Hubbys belated birthday.. The restaurant is very basic , but don’t let that put you off , the food is amazing. We had pre booked and good job we did, they were turning people away. We both chose the smoked fish selection , what an excellent choice absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend

Meant to visit long ago to see what it was like, we weren't disappointed. We had booked to go to another Suffolk pub where we were regulars but after reading several recent reviews on Tripadvisor decided against it at the last minute. Needing a dog friendly pub for Sunday lunch to meet friends limits things but we managed to get in at The Dog at the time we wanted. Service was maybe a little on the slow side but as we were catching up with friends that we hadn't seen for a year we didn't really notice. Nice atmosphere in the bar are where we were seated and staff were very helpful as I was the designated driver and needed low alcohol beer, given a reasonable choice by the young man taking the order. The white wine apparently was very good too. We all ended up having Sunday roasts, 2 pork and 2 beef and both were spot on. Decent size portions and not overloaded and piled high on the plate (one of my pet hates) One of us asked for only one potato and more vegetables and that was no bother at all. One potato arrived with a nice portion of green beans. Value wise - no complaints at all. We've had much worse Sunday roasts and paid a lot more for them. A pity it's so far away for us as we would happily be regulars.

Around 18 of us had the Anchor booked for lunch and it was very very good. Welcoming friendly staff and an obviously excellent chef. Eighteen orders served at the same time, all hot and superbly cooked. If you are looking for a good lunch in Woodbridge then this is the place to go.

This place is always busy so make sure you book in advance! We called up an hour before we were passing for a table and they did everything they could to squeeze us in and we are so glad they did. The best Sunday roast out there, we all agreed it was absolutely superb. We came back the following Tuesday for the a la carte menu and were equally impressed. You do not expect to find this level of food and service in an off track country pub in Suffolk!

Proper tasty home cooked food. Eaten here 3 times during our weeks stay in the area. The downside is the road from Debenham to Cretingham - it’s very narrow but nowt Yorkshire folk can’t handle. Although my hubby was a bit disgruntled that you only served Roast Pork as a roast on a Sunday lunch and no Yorkshire Puds - he’s a Beef and Yorkshire Pud chap!! the food has been exceptionally tasty and the staff amazingly friendly. Food was excellent and we particularly liked the possibility of having adult small portions for some meals. Wide menu and plenty of choice of drinks. Every now and then my husband and I go away, just for one night, to spend some quality time with each other away from family worries and work. We don't tend to go far as my father has dementia and I'm his medical contact should he fall ill. We chose The Cherry Tree in Woodbridge for our trip this time and arrived to find a beer festival was in progress and a band was setting up. Not the type of break we had expected, but what a great evening we had. The staff were lovely, the beer was amazing and the food... the best homemade steak burger I've ever had, and my husband was impressed with the think slices of ham, egg and chips he had. The menu was extensive, and we could of had anything from curries and steaks to jacket potatoes and fully loaded sandwiches, there was something for every taste and full children's menu board too. As for accommodation, this was in a building across from the beer garden. We had the loft apartment (above the other two rooms available). A spacious, clean, comfortable room with everything you would expect from a B&B (tea/coffee, TV, bathroom towels, shampoo and body wash), ensuite bathroom with over bath shower and an exceptionally comfortable king sized bed... we slept very well. Breakfast (served between 9 and 11am on Sundays) was from a list of at least 10 items, with batista style beverages. We enjoyed the Full English breakfast, it was delicious and extremely filling. To answer the usual TA questions, yes dogs were allowed, yes there is off road parking, yes a play area for children and yes we will probably go back again in the future. Surrounding area... Notcutts garden centre across the road, historic Woodbridge is well worth a look, fabulous walk along the river (takes approx 2 hours loop walk) and Ufford Park Golf and leisure just up the road through Melton (amazing Spa facilities) Happy travels x
