Around 18 of us had the Anchor booked for lunch and it was very very good. Welcoming friendly staff and an obviously excellent chef. Eighteen orders served at the same time, all hot and superbly cooked. If you are looking for a good lunch in Woodbridge then this is the place to go.

We had a really excellent meal at the Anchor. We ate in the bar area as we had our dogs with us. Of particular note was the Minute Steak with a Chimichurri sauce. It was delicious and I plan to return to have it again. There was a real buzz which was great for a Monday night. We were looked after by Michaela who was very nice, patient, and extremely efficient. All in all very much a 5* experience. Thank you.

Nice atmosphere, however the food was very disappointing. We had the fish and chips, the piece of fish basically consisted of batter and very little fish. It wasn’t just my food, both of my friends were the same. We did mention it to the server when she cleared the plates, she didn’t appear to care at all, which made things worse! Such a shame as it’s a great place for drinks in a lovely old pub, but go somewhere else for food.

Had an open sandwich which was basically granary cut loaf (nice cut loaf) with crayfish prawn salad on top with a lot of very garlicky dressing. It tasted quite nice but a nice bit of toasted sourdough or ciabatta would have made it a little more appealing. I did however find some very black soggy salad leaves amoungst the mix which put me off The chips however were some of the best though!

Unassuming pub in Woodbridge with a decent menu. The Jamaican jerk dish from the specials menu was very tasty and our waiter very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant is hidden behind what seems to be a good pub for just having a drink.

Great Sunday lunch. Only two choices, pork or chicken but the quality of our meal easily made up for the lack of choice. We both had pork with crackling which was fabulous - well done the cooks! Good selection of vegetables and plenty of delicious gravy. Front of house staff were also great. Probably the best Sunday lunch out we’ve had for a long time - thank you!

Versatile enough to provide an amazing brunch or a night out with friends. My friend and I love getting a tea for a catch-up in the evening, and this is one of the only pubs that don’t look at us like we’re crazy! The outside areas are very clean and pretty, the side area has really pretty lighting in the evening. The bartenders are incredibly welcoming and the food and drinks are decently priced for Woodbridge. Definitely worth the visit.

Came here for Sunday lunch with family on recommendations from others and was not disappointed. I had the roast chicken which was a generous portion with all the trimmings. The gravy was silky smooth, the red cabbage was cooked to perfection and I was pleasantly surprised to have a large sausage meat stuffing ball (most pubs do a tiny measly thing of stuffing !). Only downside was my Yorkshire pudding (and my mums) was quite burnt! We were too full for puddings but there was a lovely selection. The only other downside was that the service was a little scattered. They were clearly busy but it took a while to pay, receive sauces when asked etc. All in all wonderful meal and would recommend to others.

Everything about the visit was disappointing but it was topped off at the end when the chap clearing the table picked up our pot of mayo, peered at it and asked me if it had been used! I had jokingly said to my husband that you’d never know if someone else had used it as it comes in a glass pot and it looked a bit manky… I guess the question proves that’s exactly what happens! Did I say yes or no? That’s for me to know! 🤢

I know everyone wants to make up for lost revenue but tonight we booked a table at 6.30 pm and were told on the phone we would need to be finished by 8.00pm. Fine no problem. However at 7.35pm we were told ‘ I don’t mean to push you out BUT the people who booked at 8.00pm have come in early’ Really? That’s not being encouraged to go? How was someone turning up half an hour early my problem? We were on our coffees and are basically reasonable people so we said okay but within seconds the bill arrived without us having asked for it and the poor waitress who was sent with the bill was unaware of any of this and was surprised and embarrassed that we weren’t ready. Were there really people booked at 8.00pm who happened to arrive early or did some group come in on the off chance? Whatever, the situation it was poorly managed, felt uncomfortable and spoilt my evening.Certainly nothing like the convivial, friendly service I have experienced at this pub consistently for the last 10 years. Proper tasty home cooked food. Eaten here 3 times during our weeks stay in the area. The downside is the road from Debenham to Cretingham - it’s very narrow but nowt Yorkshire folk can’t handle. Although my hubby was a bit disgruntled that you only served Roast Pork as a roast on a Sunday lunch and no Yorkshire Puds - he’s a Beef and Yorkshire Pud chap!! the food has been exceptionally tasty and the staff amazingly friendly. Highly recommend a visit

First time back in here since new management. It's safe to say The White Horse is back!! Fully stocked bar, good choice of beers, very welcoming host. It has only been back open a month, so they have started with a small menu to get started and it did not disappoint. Absolutely delicious food and served promptly. They have just taken on a second chef and are aiming to expand their menu shortly. Will definitely be back! Oh and their Christmas Dinner Menu looks delicious and very reasonabley priced.

Great friendly gastropub in a beatiful village. We really enjoyed our stay here - there are two shepherds huts in the garden so we were able to enjoy afternoon drinks in the lovely garden followed by dinner, more drinks and then bed! Andy and the team made us feel very welcome, including our dogs. The huts are very comfortable and well equipped. Good value all round. We will be back :)
