Brilliant little restaurant room above one of the delicious fish and chips shops. The service here is relaxed and kind and the food so good we. One back year after year.
Precooked for Mother’s Day after popping in for drinks and seeing their roast dinner come out.
We arrived at lunchtime and it was very quiet, greeted nicely and shown to our seats. The pub is looking good but needs a deep clean. Over hearing the team they were recovering from a party the night before. Quite a few drinks sold out meaning nothing on tap. But there was still a choice in bottles and cans.
It was described to us that they have no menu, they just serve a platter of roast dinner for us all. My wife is Gluten intolerant and we checked she would be okay. They confirmed the roast was Gluten free and not to worry.
After a 30-40 min wait the food arrived. Absolutely worth the wait! A tray loaded with mixed meat, stuffing, veg, and Yorkshire puddings, all delicious. Only the kids managed pudding as my wife and I were stuffed.
An absolute bargain when it came to cost, I had to check twice they hadn’t missed anything.
Thoroughly recommend their roast and would advise booking as they had to turn people away as our visit progressed.
The coffee was absolutely perfect – rich, smooth, and just the right temperature. The food was equally impressive, with fresh ingredients and delicious flavors. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this spot if you're in the area – I'll definitely be coming back for more!
One of my favourite places to eat, excellent food and flavours. A good variety, especially for the starters, and the majority of the menu is naturally gluten free and dairy free (but of course check every time you order), so a great place to share dishes - the larger your group the better! Can get very busy so worth phoning to book in advance. Service excellent too!
Me and my other half bought some tea from this deli (£20). As we were driving home (and had gone too far to turn back) my partner noticed that the tea had expired in Aug 24. My partner then chucked it as it was past is's expiry date, without me knowing. I have been in email communication with the owner and sent him a photo to confirm what was on the packet, and he did kindly send me tea but only to the value of £10, and only after a significant back and forth via email, but he seems to refuse to send me the remainder. He has been making up all sorts of excuses and simply will not refund me this.
The products in this shop are hugely over priced (bit like Fortnums and Masons)), so he could certainly afford decent customer service. PLEASE STAY AWAY from this over priced deli that has absolutely no concept of customer service and is very happy to rip people off.
I recently visited Ives Ice Cream Parlour and came away with mixed feelings. While the prices are notably high, I must commend the customer service and product quality that I experienced during my visit.
The staff members were friendly and welcoming, taking the time to help me choose from their extensive selection of flavors. Their knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience enjoyable, as they offered recommendations and samples without hesitation.
As for the ice cream itself, it was truly delicious. The rich flavors and creamy texture reflected the quality ingredients used, making it a treat worth savoring. Each scoop was generously sized, which somewhat justifies the higher price point.
Though the pricing might be considered steep, the excellent customer service and the premium product quality make Ives Ice Cream Parlour a worthwhile stop for ice cream lovers. If you're looking for a delightful treat and are willing to spend a little more, I highly recommend giving it a try!
Lovely place me and my bf been here twice now, food is on top form is cooked to perfection all home made, can book a table or just walk in. Service and food never disappoint us, staff are friendly and welcoming, they make sure everything is OK with your food, it's located in a Lovey area and quiet. Would highly recommend this place if you want to try a different place to eat.
Have stayed here several times but just wanted to say a HUGE THANKYOU to ELLEN for her outstanding service, for her knowledge of her hotel rooms and local area, efficiency in dealing with our booking, follow up correspondence confirming our booking and then cross referencing with the restaurant in pre booking a specially requested table for dining with the restaurant team! This is the sort of service rarely seen by us and for that we sincerely appreciate and thankyou! Thank you also to Hotel Manager Ruby for her email and support for her staff.
Well done Ellen and Well done Fludyers! 11 out of 10! Best wishes Sarah and Jackie

Nice pub for lunch or dinner. We’ve been a couple of times since they had a revamp in 2023/2024 and it’s been really nice both times. Portion sizes are generous. Staff are friendly. Food organised by head chef Dave is really good and different to other places around martlesham/kesgrave/woodbridge which gives new options.
We went recently for an early dinner and the pub was not busy at all which is such a shame for such a good pub but our service and food was really good. Alyssa was a lovely server and head chef Dave was cooking in the kitchen. Couldn’t fault it.
