Mama bears knows what they’re doing. Delightful cakes, freshly hand made and delicious. Worth the money. Started using mama bears in lock down when she delivered cake / treat boxes on Fridays and delighted when she opened up a shop. Know various people that have used her services for occasion cakes too all spectacular.
Recently saw on their insta they’d received some poor reviews and I don’t know why!!! Think people expect chemically flavoured over sweetened junk. This isn’t what you get here, real flavours cooked with love and passion. Recommend and hope the negative reviewers give their heads a little wobble.
Only name is Indian. Food taste is so bad not even near to actual taste of india. In real it’s a Bangladeshi restaurant. This is not the place for someone looking for authentic Indian food. Don’t recommend !
On the 19th April 2025 we were visiting aldeburgh with friends as we had heard aldeburgh were famous for their fish and chips. The 4 of us then went into the upper deck diner for our lunch sat down, we all ordered the medium cod and chips and was so looking forward to our meal. Med cod and chips x 4 cost us a total of £ 59.60 with the drinks being extra etc etc , well I have to say the cod which we were all served was very very disappointing, it was much smaller than we were expecting, the batter was dark in colour and it was dry and crunchy and tasteless and was mainly batter and what little cod in side the batter was full of big bones, I can honestly say it was the worst fish and chips meal we had ever ordered when out. We were all so very disappointed with our meal as it didn't feel like the meals were cooked to order as the meal were not very hot at all, I have to say the whole meal tasted like the fish may have been pre cooked then put into a hot oven to keep it warm until it was ordered, the same with the chips. Very disappointing indeed and We certainly won't be returning to the upper deck diner again.
Had the carvery and my husband had a steak and ale pie....both were outstanding!
Great value and fresh.
Both had lovely puddings and the choice of desserts was amazing.....
Friendly ,quick service.
Music was at a low level,so could speak easily.Waiter and cook were both excellent.
I took my mum with my family for a lovely birthday roast. I have been going to the Oyster for several years and every time Jane and the team anre amazing! This is one of the best hidden gems of Suffolk! You have to visit, the roasts, the theme nights, the quiz nights, it’s all amazing! Thank you so much to Jane and the team 😍
The coffee was absolutely perfect – rich, smooth, and just the right temperature. The food was equally impressive, with fresh ingredients and delicious flavors. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this spot if you're in the area – I'll definitely be coming back for more!
I recently visited Ives Ice Cream Parlour and came away with mixed feelings. While the prices are notably high, I must commend the customer service and product quality that I experienced during my visit.
The staff members were friendly and welcoming, taking the time to help me choose from their extensive selection of flavors. Their knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience enjoyable, as they offered recommendations and samples without hesitation.
As for the ice cream itself, it was truly delicious. The rich flavors and creamy texture reflected the quality ingredients used, making it a treat worth savoring. Each scoop was generously sized, which somewhat justifies the higher price point.
Though the pricing might be considered steep, the excellent customer service and the premium product quality make Ives Ice Cream Parlour a worthwhile stop for ice cream lovers. If you're looking for a delightful treat and are willing to spend a little more, I highly recommend giving it a try!
First time visiting, Best experience I have ever tried the food was amazing can’t ask for better quality and service, the gentleman serving was absolutely polite I will 100% be returning and I 100% recommend this place to anyone
Seemless booking of a table for 6 in the restaurant for Sunday lunch . The staff who served our table were polite and courteous ( Mille amd Tom ) . Ruby the manager ensured that our table was ok . Customer service is of utmost importance and this was certainly shown off to its fullest potential . Well done we will be returning for your superb roasts again soon .

Me and my wife had a table booked at 5.30 pm. The service was prompt and very good. We both had a stake meal which was excellent along with desert which was also excellent and all for value for money. The chef at the time we went was Reagan and our waitress was Lois the latter was very professional and polite.
The location is amazing in the heart of suffolk, close to the coast and with some great walks nearby, and the pub itself is nice both inside and out. We didn't stay at this place as we live local, so can’t comment on the rooms, however customer service was below par hence the 1 star.
We only asked for half an Orange Juice and lemonade but the lady serving just seemed grumpy with no welcoming smile, no hello. It didn't help that she made the drink using 90% lemonade and only a drop of orange juice like it was weak orange squash so we politely challenged it saying it should be more 50/50. She lied and said “that is how i made it”, so I called it out saying it absolutely wasn't as i saw her pour it. She paused, clearly not happy, and I could tell she wanted to say something, but instead chose not to and instead just made it again. No apology, no smile, just a ‘there you go’.
With tourist season starting I’d hope the service improves.
