Nice food, calm atmosphere, great service from Karolina, was brilliant with allergies as well as being generally all round positive

Attended as family and two couples We all had the 3 course meal deal, it was all cooked superbly and was piping hot, we had Kay as our server She was very nice and attentive we have no complaints about the food at all The steaks were so tasty and cooked exactly how we asked for them to be Thanks to all

This was our worst-ever visit to Miller & Carter. The waitress was overbearing and very difficult to understand, we were seated in an area where a party of 12 were also seated (This happened also on our previous visit) we could hardly hear ourselves talk and to be honest gave up in the end and we sat there in silence. Bearing in mind that in the section there was just 2 tables of 2 persons we could not understand why we were seated next to a party table, other people also in the same area were complaining. The starter arrived within minutes and was dried up where it had been sitting under a heat lamp, the main course arrived and the plates were so hot (Not warned by the waitress) that my burger bun base was solid, and the chips were overcooked. Not a good experience and we would now think twice before booking again. Very annoying that once you have the bill within seconds the waitress is standing at the table with a card machine and also annoying to have a "Service" charge on the machine this should be left to the customer's discretion if they want to leave a tip or not it should not be an option. We have deliberately stopped paying by card for this reason

We ordered our drinks virtually as soon as we sat down but had to wait a long time before they arrived. We both had Prawn Cocktail as a starter, it was bland and tasteless with gritty lettuce. Massive plate with a tiny bowl in the middle with very little in it. There was supposed to be avocado in it but god knows where it was hiding. Very little sauce and no paprika. The waitress didn't even ask us if everything was ok. The main arrived and my partners Lamb was as tough as old boots. The Dauphinoise potatoes were awful, over done and a solid lump. I was supposed to have pepper corn sauce but got something else, didn't complain as it was quite tasty. My onion loaf was really over done. They didn't charge us for the Lamb but that isn't the point as it ruined our dinner and experience. We only live across the road and this place is going downhill rapidly.

Terrible! Steak was a very poor quality, tough and chewy and not cooked as requested! Terrible when you think it’s a specialty steak restaurant!!

My Sticky Chipotle chicken came to the table and it was stone cold. Our server Taylor, who was super helpful throughout our meal, dealt with the situation very well and replaced it. Not sure how cold food managed to get over the Pass, so some questions for the team?

A nice restaurant with lots of options, feels like a more sophisticated version of a harvester. I had the dirty burger which was delicious and my friends had the fillet steak which they enjoyed. The service was below par though as the waitress paid very little attention and was clattering the plates around as if she was having a bad day. Appreciate she must have been really busy but as the old saying goes, service with a smile - it goes a long way.

Possibly the best steak I've ever had. So soft and delicious, cooked exactly how I asked, and no fat or gristle left over. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommended A+++

Nice decor, quite a busy evening with a waitress flying here and there! My medium ribeye was a bit overcooked but still very tasty. The strawberry fields was delicious. Dessert was yummy too and we had a singing waitress who was very nice x

Our first visit to this restaurant. We were very impressed with the food, decor and especially our waitress, Taylor, who explained the menu and was extremely knowledgable and helpful. We will definitely come again.

Drinks took 20 mins to arrive. Ran out of two starters, chicken wings came with wrong sauce. Steak was nothing special, too fatty and not cooked as requested. Shame.

Very good service and food. The restaurant helped to accommodate one of our guests who has tinnitus by offering us a table in a quieter part of the restaurant and Heather, our waitress, went out of her way to ensure we had an excellent birthday meal!

Went here for birthday meal today. Had the Sunday £32.50 deal, and the meals were delicious. Had the slow cooked beef shin, calamari and chipotle chicken for starters - the beef shin was so soft, and tasted amazing (usually a side alongside the meals but we requested as a starter). Other starters were really tasty too. Had the 30 day aged 12oz ribeye (others had the 8oz). Everyone’s was cooked to perfection - apart from mine. Initially both my chips and the steak were overcooked - but the staff were super helpful and kind, and changed my whole plate for a new one - including the sauce and chips and onion loaf. That second steak was cooked to perfection, and was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, 1000% recommend and will be back.

Went for my son's 30th birthday. We had drinks. sat down, for our food for starters chicken in batter, crispy crispy squid in batter, halloumi fries were lovely, nachos with different sources on them , we had fish and chips,, chicken breast in a white wine sauce with potatoes and some veggies. It was all lovely. food service was great very hot . The table service , She looked after us really well, polite and happy couldn't do enough for us, Downside was he found a lip mark on one of the glasses and she replaced it straight away. Was just a good service. We fairly enjoyed our time there and we'll go back again soon. Well done miller and carter

Really enjoyed our lunchtime set menu very good value for money and generous portions highly recommended if you like steak!

Had an early meal there yesterday evening. Three courses, all really good. The service was excellent, lovely people. 3 stars for atmosphere because we were the only ones in there at 5pm! It began to fill up as we left. Good visit, good value. We'll go back

I have visited several times and I was never disappointed. On Saturday I went with my husband for a date night and the food was amazing as usual, the service was great, Yara served us and she was very kind and the timing of the serving was great. It is very difficult to fault them and we will definitely return.

Just walked out of restaurant after booking for my 46th anniversary. Noone let us know about the renovation going on the fumes were so bad we all felt sick my husband and grandson are both painters and said no one should be sitting in there let alone eating or even cooking in that environment it must be a health and environment issue poor woman next to me said she only booked last night and was also not told I also booked the night before why would you keep a restaurant open knowing this was been done was told to come back when finished so after making me feel sick he wants me to come back

We always have Georgia she’s amazing !! So lovely and kind, always helps us with what is the best thing to get, food and cocktails! She makes our experience, as the service is so good. Food is always amazing, one of our favourite places Took my 90 year old grandad save to say he loved it, smashed 2 courses 👏🏽

Average, the service was good. Steaks were all over cooked asked for medium and it was more like well done, another one was meant to be medium/rare and was over medium. parts of the meal were stone cold. The bread that came wits the Camembert starter was disappointing. Deserts were good. Coffee was cold.

Me and the extended family visited the restaurant on Tuesday. Our waitress was Saffron, and she was absolutely lovely! She made sure everyone was seen to and we had everything we needed, and was also very bubbly and friendly. The drinks and food were delicious and made it to our table in good time. Me and my family came here for my little sisters leaving dinner before she jets off to Aus, and it was incredible! Our server Saffron went above and beyond and made sure that we were all happy with every dish and drink that was served - no easy feat for a table of 14! We could not praise her enough! The food of course was incredibly delicious but Saffron truly was the star of our visit, what an asset to the Miller & Carter team!

What a lovely evening. We had the special Steak & Cocktail for £20 (with an upgrade) and the food and drinks were excellent. I haven't been here for many years but will definitely be returning again soon. The experience was enhanced by our wonderful waitresss Rosie, who knew the Menu inside out, was happy and professional and a real asset to the restaurant.

Just returned from a birthday meal at Miller & Carter, Nacton. We have visited other Miller & Carter Restaurants but not the Ipswich venue and had a fabulous evening. The food was really good but the service made the evening. Our waitress Rosie was attentive, knowledgeable and just the perfect hostess. Would highly recommend.

The restaurant seemed clean and tidy and the atmosphere was good. It was busy so it took a little while for our drinks order to be taken. Our server, Saffron, was bubbly and easy to talk to. We asked for no butter on our steaks, no dressing on one lettuce and lettuce with vinaigrette. We only got one lettuce with no dressing and the steaks had butter on. The sirloin steaks we ordered were cooked to our liking and were delicious, though mine seemed to be really salty even without the fries on my plate. Dessert was good (brownie and cheesecake) and Saffron asked if we would like the bill and it was brought over promptly.

We had a lovely time - fantastic food and drinks as always, that arrived very quickly. We had two children under 7 with us and our lovely server Saffron asked the chef to bring the children’s main food out as quickly as possible, which helped keep them occupied. She was super with the children, who were a little disorderly at times, but they responded very well to her. She couldn’t do enough for us all, and made our experience excellent. We look forward to our next visit.

Went here on Sunday for a belated birthday meal with my wife. The service was first class. The food was delicious we had 3 courses. I would highly recommend paying a visit to this place.

The steaks here are excellent, good choice of sauces etc so you can have them served however you'd prefer. Waitress service was very friendly and efficient. Couldn't fault the place at all!

We travelled a considerable way to eat here - We’ve been a few times before - I would firstly say, our food was ok - However, I felt the service was disappointing - My main annoyance was that after being in there for 3 hours (2 courses) and adding 10% service charge - Nobody returned to take our payment - When I went to find someone to pay - I was told I had to wait for the waitress - I just wanted to pay! However, after tonight, I don’t think I would return for one reason - the toilets. They were absolutely disgusting - and the manager should be ashamed that they have an establishment with such unhygienic facilities - One lot of ladies toilets had 2 cubicles, one saying out of order, and another overflowing - So both were un-useable - The others were tatty, dirty and smelt awful - This is unacceptable for anywhere, but especially a restaurant!

I'm visiting my parents from Sweden for my mums birthday and father's day. They chose the restaurant so happy to come along. I had the scallops to start. The bacon was supposed to be crispy, it was lightly looked which is fine but not as described. I also could not have told you it was maple cured if I hadn't read the description. Three rashers would have been more appropriate than two. Mum had the mushrooms, fine but as a starter didn't really need so much bread and dad had the calamari which was actually better than it looked. For main dad had steak, mum had lamb, I had the seabass. The seabas was well cooked but lacked seasoning and a slice of lemon would have livened it up. There was very little sauce, it was more like a thick puree garnish which tasted well and hoped the fish but there wasn't much. The Mediterranean vegetables were fine. Mum's lamb was a little over cooked and a bit tough and the brocoli was hard and under cooked. Dads steak was perfect. Can't fault the dish at all. The staff were friendly, although it would have been nice for the drink order to be taken a little earlier, but they were polite. Professional and friendly. There us a nice atmosphere although I did find it a little too warm but that's maybe just me! In my humble opinion I felt the prices were a little high for the food we were given but maybe I expected too much! The house white was good. Would I go again? I would not choose it myself, but if someone I was with wanted to go I would accompany them. It was fine, but it was not acceptional.

Georgia was fabulous as ever as our waitress, she is so attentive and is such a nice person! It wouldn’t be right going to miller and carter and not having her on our table! 100% for service ⭐️

The food was good, but not excellent. Steak was a little under and not rested properly. Starters and coffees were superb. This would have been a 7 but thanks to the incredible service from Holly, it's been upgraded. She is an asset to your restaurant

The restaurant was very busy, so we did have a bit of a wait between ordering and our food arriving but the staff were lovely and the food was delicious.

I had booked a table a week previously to take advantage of a special Father's Day offer of a Tomahawk steak. My husband was thrilled and we drove 1.5hrs to get to the restaurant. After being seated we asked about the special that was advertised both in the restaurant and online only to be told the delivery hadn't come and they had no Tomahawk steaks. The waiter was very apologetic but the fact remains we had driven a long way for something that was advertised/promoted to be told it started a day later. Very disappointed. The food we did end up ordering was very nice. The sea bass was wonderful.

My ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. I wasn’t expecting it be so good. My wife had the salmon which she thoroughly enjoyed. Surroundings were pleasant and Kay provided good service. Would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely meal, the food was fab. We were served by Yara who was very friendly and efficient.

We came on Monday 27th may as we had heard it was definitely worth a visit most of the food was ok not the best steak we have had but it was the chips they were really dark brown and soaked in grease as if they had been cooked gone cold and cooked again for the money we paid we were very disappointed especially as it was our cousins birthday treat 😞 the young man who looked after us we cannot fault he was lovely so it was a shame really that the food wasn’t up to your usual standards and we left really disappointed.

The young lady Yara who served us was incredibly polite and welcoming, she was very well mannered and sorted everything for us including a cake for our young son. She is a credit to the restaurant

May 2024 Went for a belated birthday treat again. This time just 2 of us. It's not cheap, but it was tasty. Over £110 for 2 drinks each, 2 starters and 2 steaks. One was a 16oz ribeye, the other a 20oz t-bone. They were cooked well. My only complaint was the chairs were uncomfortable. They had different styles of chairs at other tables, but the chairs we had, were just not great. Surprisingly busy for a Wednesday evening. We hadn't booked, but we still got seated straight away despite how busy it was. Original review Birthday meal out with my sons. Had very nice fillet steak, cooked well. Enjoyed the caramel dessert. Will probably go again.
