Steak Lobster & Co in Suffolk Coastal

Waitresses were very polite although under staffed. Very disappointed in our meals. Starter was overcooked.. the chicken burger was burnt although the chips were great.. the coleslaw mayonnaise and onion rings were cheap quality. Dessert was delicious.. best part of our meal. Unfortunately we wouldn’t reccomend or come back. The restaurant itself is run down.. windows needed a clean at our sea view.. toilets were disgusting.. I walked in and walked out.. I couldn’t use the toilets.

Under staffed… limited dishes on the menu as they had ran out of so may dishes at only 6.30pm.. meal was over priced for not great quality ingredients. Over cooked food.. the chicken burger was burnt.. also the table next to us had the same problem. The restaurant itself was run down.. sea view was limited.. the windows weren’t even clean. Waitress was super friendly.. kept apologising.. but like we said this wasn’t her fault. Wouldn’t reccomend to anyone or come back.. very disappointing visit

first time eating here and defo will not be going back it was awful.went for my grandsons 16th birthday meal.No atmosphere the place look dirty awful decor.Very small menu but when we went to order they had not got alot of things which was off putting from the start which then i wish we said we have changed our minds and should have walked out there and then.Mine and my daughters chicken burger meals were burnt tasted disgusting we didnt eat it.the couple that sat behind us had chicken burgers too and they complained theres was burnt too.The only good thing about the place was our lovely waitress she was really lovely and she didnt charge us for our burger meals and couldnt apologise enough bless her.And £27 for half a lobster was awful there was hardley any meat inside to pricey for what you get.

I can categorically state that This so called “Restaurant “ is running on borrowed time! First and foremost let me say I am not the first to say what I’m going to say…. I’m just more blunt and to the point than nicer people have ha ha. Good points first… The waitress was utterly lovely and I instantly realised she was well versed in the complaints that came!. Oh and the chips were really good. Bad bad bad points… The restaurant is dirty inside and the seats ( at least upstairs) are atrocious…. Worn to tatters and would be great to use on Nov 5th for better use. The interior decor is more depressing than Kier Starmer. The windows are filthy. Anyway the food…. We both decided on half a lobster each as a treat (£27 with chips and salad each) well it was appalling…. I’ve had whole lobster from Aldi for a tenner which when cut in half had double the meat content of these Prawns!! Weirdly the meat had been removed and put back in the shell… I really think they steal some of the meat from each one ( maybe the chef was hungry) anyway it was tasteless and more than disappointing so much so that I said to my partner that I needed a burger on the side! ( I wouldn’t have bought it at that place though) So we had a word with the waitress and she told us in not so many words that this was an increasing problem that their supplier was sending smaller lobsters….. The issue is my friends the restaurant isn’t sending smaller prices to the punters are they?! Oh and the salad was three lettuce leaves from a bag. She went on to offer us either a dessert or another drink on the house ( bet she does this a few times a night) so I had the cheese board to help fight my malnutrition whilst my partner decided to drown her sorrows with a large glass of Chardonnay… nothing new there I thought ha ha The cheese was good….. We won’t ever be going back.

This is the first time and last I try to go to a good restaurant once a week I had lobster and also my partner it was so small for £27 each the chips were greasy also the white bait was greasy I would advise anyone who is going to Felixstowe to advise anyone to walk past also the couple next to us could not eat their food but said they would not complain as they were English

Been to Felixstowe many many times over the years and have never been to the steak and lobster co here until tonight, well what can I say about it, It was amazing, the rump steak with half lobster was amazing, the rump was cooked to perfection and perfectly complimented with the lobster, the cheesecake was amazing too , all the staff were friendly and polite and happy nothing was too much problem. Would 100% recommend the steak and lobster co

Went here for our first date night since having our son and we couldn’t have picked a more perfect place! As soon as we walked in we were welcomed warmly and ask where we would prefer to sit, the staff were very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. The food itself was absolutely amazing. My partner and I both had steak and it was cooked absolutely perfectly to our preference. I would highly recommend eating here!! We can’t wait to go back, reasonably priced also and the portions are amazing, we left feeling very full and could only eat the main. The food was presented amazingly! We will 100% be back with our family, I’ve found my new favourite restaurant!!

We came here without a pre booked table after being let down by another restaurant! Everyone at this restaurant was amazing to us. Wonderful customer service & attentiveness. The food was excellent. Possibly the best fish & chip I’ve ever eaten! The lobster bon-bons were delicious too! Thanks again for looking after my family and myself at such short notice & having a table available for us. We had a wonderful dinner. See you again.

Not very welcoming from the outside. Stacked unused chairs. But once onside the service was good and the food delicious. So a good experience. Small point. Sign on the hand dryer said “not working” in the gents, so at least some hand towels would have been welcome. 😉

Cracking 8oz rump food was cooked to perfection 👌 lovely little restaurant and bar

Went for a rare child free lunch but was quite disappointed with the meal. Ordered ‘heritage tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella’ to start with. Nothing about the tomatoes were heritage, they had less taste than simple salad tomatoes from a supermarket. Steak was ok but over cooked and very salty. Chunky chips were really good and a good sized portion of them. Waitresses were nice but only two on and definitely needed more. The decor is updated and sticky. Think it could be really good but just wasn’t.

Where do I start was ment to be a lovely anniversary meal with friends and it was ruined 😕 sitting upstairs was really hot 1 door open with a fan above it ( not really air conditioning windows didn't open) Took our order and received our drinks hubby had to ask for his pint to be topped up ciders were warm and they had no ice ( machine broken) then suddenly 8 pieces of ice was brought to us. Starters came and was eaten within 5 minutes then we waited and waited and waited nobody came to ask us if we would like more drinks far to busy for the amount of staff after an hour our expectations were shattered and we had had enough so be said we weren't prepared to wait any longer paid for our starters and 1 drink and left very disappointed don't think we would return. Should be 1 waitress for a table saw 3 different ones poor people on opposite table never even got there Starters they brought there main course out after waiting over an hour List our appetite after that and our friends had fish and chips from next door

The inside of restaurant looked a bit dismal .dark wood tables.cheap cutlery. There were not many customers yet it took a while for our mains to come. When they arrived,very disappointing.The steak was overdone.certainly not medium.it was really chewy,a dry texture.Also really over seasoned and salty. The waitress did not come over to ask “ how is your meal”so did not get a chance and after such a wait decided to eat up and leave. There was only 1 waitress working because they only had 8 booked in !! Do they not get walk ins. ? 1 waitress 1 chef not a good combination very disappointing

Sunday lunch excellent as always and the tiramisu was superb. Staff were really stretched as it was a very busy day with customers both inside, upstairs, outside and on the green but, although they needed additional help, they coped admirably ensuring all customers received their undivided attention.

We had a lovely meal, staff very friendly and helpful, would recommend booking but you can just walk up,is in a very nice location and you can sit up or downstairs or even outside. If you want a great steak or lobster then this is the place to go when in Felixstowe and we definitely will when we next visit. 5*****

Went there last Saturday had the white baite and ribeye stake with cheesecake, got home after I was so sick , could not even sleep , will never go back to that place again , service was good but I have food poisoning enough to put me off for the rest of my life

Great food great ambiance. Excellent service from the wonderful manager Darren. Darren works double hard. The owners of this establishment should think of employing more staff for waitering And also offer Darren a pay rise. It would be a great loss if he left. The restaurant is of top class And food of great perfection. Keep up the great value for money menu. Staff excellent

Randomly drove up to Felixstowe Beach one day and landed our eye on this place. Got the half lobster with the garlic butter and truffle fries, absolutely loved it! Was my first time trying lobster and I absolutely loveeed it! Lovely staff too!

Nothing special Fillet Steak was ok added Garlic King Prawns which were only warm (disappointed) the so called "Blue Cheese" sauce was sent back as it didn't even taste of Cheese!! let alone Blue Cheese ☹

6 of us for a 50th birthday meal. Venue knew this as had been very helpful with decorating table etc. beforehand. Had to wait 20mins for our 1st drinks (had to go downstairs to remind them), waited ages for more drinks when our final guest arrived, took far too long to take our food order, they ran out of Prosecco then miraculously found some when we complained (you are 8mins walk from Lidl so you never need to run out of most things), ran out of ingredients for Porn Star Martinis so one of us offered to run to a shop to get what they needed (not entirely joking). W sat looking at our dirty plates for too long & when the bill came a bottle of wine & 2 cocktails that had been paid for separately had been added on. Our friend offered to show her receipt to prove this & was told no need. Restaurant was fairly busy but not rammed so no excuse for such poor service. It really spoilt our friend's special evening. Huge compliments to the kitchen team as the food was really good. We were told by our waiter that something would be negotiated at bill time such as free desserts but we weren't offered them. 10% had been taken off the bill but as that would have been an optional service charge figure, no real recompense was given. We will not be going back any time soon.

Delicious Sunday roast here today. This place never disappoints! Efficient friendly service, the waiting staff really make you feel at home. Our meal was beautifully cooked & plenty of it. The white chocolate cheesecake was to die for! We love this restaurant, we always know we’ll get a good meal for a reasonable price

Had two amazing steaks last night I had fillet and my husband had sirloin boh were perfect as was the rest of the meal and deserts. Staff were very attentive , sea view was a bonus in all a lovely eveing

After hearing mixed reviews of this place we thought we’d give it a go ourselves with him loving steak and me loving seafood seemed like the perfect place…. And we were right! The staff were faultless, the food was divine. We were asked for drinks quickly, our starters came quicker than I expected. Our steaks were cooked to perfection perfectly seasoned and very plentiful plates! Nice side salad and dressing. Sauces were amazing I had the red wine and shallot (highly recommend) Particularly the staff, the service made this place the two lovely ladies we had fuss round us really made our night perfect . The only thing I took a star off for was the lighting. It wasn’t a selling point for the food but, the food and service overtook that anyways . OH AND THE TRUFFLE FRIES!!!!!!

Visited last night with my family for my birthday treat. Greeted nicely and were seated upstairs with the sea view which was lovely and nice that they had been able to accommodate our request of being sat in the window. But, that maybe backfired slightly as was really cold upstairs and 2 of us had to keep coats on all evening. The girls serving were lovely and polite and the starters were delivered quickly and they were really nice. Which leads me into our mains. My partner had a full lobster with chips, but seems the only option was chips. (But, to be fair they were actually delicious and the best part of all our meals) The lobster was really small and tasteless and no crackers or implements were given to crack the claws and legs which meant attempting to break into them with a knife and fork, which for a specialist restaurant, we felt was a bit odd to be honest. In addition I had the surf and turf and my lobster tail at £19 was twice the size of the full lobster at £39. We had also requested a plain side portion of prawns. These turned up in a bowl covered in a sauce. One was eaten and to be honest it was like eating a rubber and they really weren't nice at all. When mentioned to the lady she was polite and apologised and these were removed from the bill.... Which leads me onto the bill. This was handed over and rather than leaving it with us for a few minutes she just stood there with her card machine poised giving us no time to check it over.....we then advised we were paying cash and she further stood there watching me count out the money, which is just rude. All in all, it was an ok meal - would we return now, No. would we recommend to anyone, unfortunately not. It's expensive as it's says it's specialist restaurant but it's really not in my opinion, not worth paying extra for sadly.

My friend and I went here for pre dinner to the show in Spa Pavilion. We had never been before but the food was excellent, steak cooked perfectly, chips really nice, salad lovely. All in all a really nice, enjoyable meal would definitely go again and recommend this place 10/10

Felt rushed to order, eat and leave.

We had two meals here this weekend and the food was very good. The service also very good hope to visit the next time we are in the area.

We've eaten out here this evening. Table for 5, didn't pre book, turned up and they accomodated. What a wonderful experience! Polite and wonderfully attentive staff. Food was delicious. A mix of meat and seafood ordered. Beautifully cooked and clean plates all round. Will definitely be returning back here. What a wonderful find! Thank you.

Good food but really slow service was goining to a show was there nearly 2 hours but only had time for main course

Visited on Saturday 27th Jan 2024 as a pre show get together. Was promptly welcome. Made an initial drinks order only to find the staff wandered off and not return. Was then seated and the advised we'd have to wait for menus as there wasn't enough for all tables (At this stage the venue was half empty) Ended up having to find menu online as no one returned). Took another 40 minutes for drinks to arrive and food order to arrive. Food order arrived promptly and with exception to the everything else the quality of the food was outstanding (Allparties having various steaks). Have been offered and requested condiments 3 times never to turn up so gave up with that request. There was a common theme throughout the duration of our visit that every table on the upper floor were complaining about terrible/lack of service. Staff were completely disorganised and lacked any waiting type skills. A number of tables left due to the terrible level of service. Prices are reasonable and I can highly recommend the food but you have to accept that your visit will be lacking on the customer service side. Top tip...Download their menu prior to your visit.

I've not put a review before as I thought we would give it one more chance but unfortunately, we won't be returning, this is now the 3rd time something is wrong. We visited on friday, for daughters birthday her choice as she loves lobster. Lobster reduced to just tail for more money than before. Steak over cooked under cooked. Burgers were way over cooked, struggled to cut with a steak knife didn't eat them. The whole experience was a let down. I would probably focus on what the restaurant is called instead of trying to add different things in but can't get a steak correct. Unfortunately we weren't the only ones complaining. 4 other tables were also. The waitress we had was lovely and friendly wasn't her fault but she kept apologising. Just disappointing when your really looking forward to something to be such a let down. We won't be returning again. One to many times now

The food was delicious and the service very good. On the website states 30% off in January but we were charged full price. Maybe we should have asked if the offer was still on. When speaking to friends they all seem to be under the impression there is 30% off in January Hence only three stars

Great food and service, very quiet, a bit chilly

Good range of food on the menu. It was a Sunday when I went I had a pork belly roast which was both delicious and generous. Staff have got the service down to to a T.

We recently visited S&L with 8 friends and booked the VIP area which is set apart from the main restaurant. We all had a fantastic experience, the food uniformly excellent with only a few bits of veg left on any of our plates, steaks cooked perfectly, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Have been here before and will definitely be returning. The best restaurant in Felixstowe.

Both ordered lobster. The Thermidor sauce was watery and pretty tasteless. The lobsters were super undersized and the meat weirdly had been taken out of the lobster, chopped up and returned. We were told our drinks would be on the house as a group booking was coming in so we had to vacate our tables within 2 hours. The bill, when it did come after being asked twice about what we had consumed, came with the drinks included. It was rather like a faulty towers experience although the waitresses were polite. The tables were then removed upstairs for the party whilst we were finishing much to our amusement (as we decided to see the funny side). Won’t be returning, ever!

Just been for a special meal with my partner to celebrate her birthday absolutely ruined , we had steak and lobster both worse than cheap off road pub . No taste to quality , left us with ruined evening in regard of food taste . Starters were brilliant but probably frozen so all they had to do is defrost and put on plate . Staff didn’t know how to handle situation so had to speak to manager over phone . Stood there for 40 minutes while they were figuring out what do to . We ended up paying the bill with removed just steak which I insist to pay . We didn’t wanted money back we wanted a good quality food . Consider this is restaurant that is called Steak and Lobster they should have those two dishes outstanding as they don’t have any other regardless …

The place was almost empty and cold. The waitress was cheery and helpful. The menu was a platitudinous profusion of pretentiousness. Every item was hyped to the max. If you over-praise you also have to over-deliver. Unfortunately this was not the case. Even the food presentation was pretentious. The steaks were average and not exceptional. Even though the bill was fair the over-hyping inevitably meant disappointment. Definitely not as good as it was the last time we visited over a year ago.

Should be called Steak and NO Lobster!!! We have been to the restaurant many times before and travel over 30mins to get there, however for the 2nd time in a row there was no Lobster! We called and booked earlier in the day and no one mentioned that there would be no Lobster and we had no call to say otherwise. We ordered garlic bread for my son as a starter and there was zero garlic on the buttered, slightly toasted bread. I went for fish and chips and looked like I was given a child's portion due to the size of the fish. My wife went for roast Turkey and there was no potatoes!!! How can they call it a "traditional" roast without potatoes? Service wasn't great either. As you can probably expect from my review, we will not be returning to the restaurant again. Not sure what has happened but they need to have a hard look at their service and offerings.

Just been out for lunch with my girlfriend . The only people in. We both had the pork belly starters ( my girlfriends was GF) and I had the t-bone and my girlfriend had the ribeye. Both were cooked to perfection along with the chunky chips. Would definitely recommend to everyone.

Absolutely love this restaurant as a nice cosy little romantic getaway for me and my partner! Tasty food and very reasonable prices and staff are very polite and welcoming 100% recommend!

I went here with a group of 7 of us for my birthday and we were seated in the VIP area, which was a lovely touch, felt very private and perfect for the occasion. We were greeted with the most welcoming service, which carried on throughout the whole time there. We were gutted to know there was unfortunately no lobster that day as there had been floods, which we all understood. Despite this, and my 7 year old cousin being more upset than me about the lobster situation, the food was absolutely incredible. I had the lobster bon bons to start, they were not what I expected, but still amazing. Then for mains I got a steak cooked medium rare, and it was cooked to perfection, with some of maybe the nicest garlic prawns I have ever had. We do plan on going back to try the lobster next time as I'm sure it will be as good as the food was first time.

Would highly recommend. We had great food in here and brilliant friendly service. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend the white chocolate cheesecake is was amazing. We will be visiting again.

I visited this restaurant last year and had a lovely experience. Therefore I decided to re book for a family meal in November 2023. Sadly it was extremely disappointing. We had a sharing starter and were given no plates. The vodka and coke was watery. We then went on to have a roast dinner, the pigs in blankets were burnt, the Carrots were inedible and the roast potatoes were rock hard. Really, really disappointing. We raised this to staff and were given 25% off however this didn't make up for such a poor experience

Just popped in to see if there was a table available and ate here on both nights of our stay. The food is just amazing, butter melt chicken burger the best we've ever had and Ribeye steak cooked to perfection. It's not the cheapest but you definitely get what you pay for. Huge thanks to the Steak and Lobster. We went there to celebrate our granddaughter’s 18th birthday and had a wonderful evening. The food was outstanding and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. Highly recommended.

Lunch for three, shared two starters; lobster balls and salt and pepper squid. A couple of 1/2 lobster thermidors and a burger. Nice that the side salads were served dressed. Excellent chips. We thought meal was good value overall. 2 soft drinks and 4 glasses of wine; £109. Will return.

I love that lobster and grill is next to the seaside so if you are on the first floor you can enjoy the amazing view. The food was amazing too, I really enjoyed it! Definitely recommend.

Me and my husband came to Felixstowe for our 33 wedding anniversary and came across this lovely restaurant. They were busy when we popped in and they did there very best to find us a table. We are so glad they did. The staff were friendly and helpful and it felt like they all loved working there which is such a treat. Well done you guys will certainly be coming to visit again .

I went in and asked if we could sit outside, the girls muffled something along the lines of "you can do whatever you want". We sat outside, we waited 10 minutes, my wife went back in to ask for some menus, after another 10 minutes a girl came out with the bill for the table next to ours apologizing for the delay then went back in. I can't comment on the food because we decided to run at that point, but it better be the best lobsters ever at those prices as that clearly didn't include catering.

We booked last minute and managed to get a table for 2 for Sunday roast. We both ordered sirloin of beef roast with red wine gravy. The food was exceptional and would go as far to say the best roast we’ve had in a very long time! The staff were all very polite, helpful and attentive throughout our time there… they could not have done any more. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back! Surprisingly good food, we almost didn't stay to eat because the restaurant was quite stuffy and a bit dark. Service was extremely attentive and the food was outstanding. Really needed a window opened or air conditioning because the stuffiness was the only negative on what was an almost perfect experience. We ate as a family of three, half lobster thermidor, salmon pasta and hallumi burger. All of which were sensational, in particular the burger which could of easily been average, they had taken the time to toast the bun slightly and add some delicious sauces in perfect amounts to the burger. We will go again if in the area

Looking for somewhere to enjoy a good Sunday Lunch and, following recomendations from friends, we tried Steak Lobster & Co on Felixstowe's seafront. We were not disappointed. Amazingly the restaurant was not as busy as we expected which is sad because, as we found, the service is friendly, the food is excellent and the price is reasonable for the quality you get. My pal ordered Fish & Chips which looked really good and, he said, tasted good too. I had the Sunday Roast Beef option which was just right, decent slices of nicely cooked beef over a selection of slightly al dente vegitables and good roasted potatoes. The gravy was excellent and there was an option to order more gravy if you needed it. Thank you to the Steak Lobster Co team for a super Sunday lunch.

We went here for a meal after our wedding ceremony of 11 people. The staff were amazing that allowed us to decorate etc. They really made it a special meal for us and went the extra mile by being very accommodating. The food was also amazing and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be returning. Thank you.

Sunday lunch meat was tough...well presented but lacked quality. Perhaps should have stuck to the steak which I'm told is good.

Food was OK - Nothing special and certainly did not live up to expectations based on previous reviews.

Took some friends last night for a meal, they’d not been before. The food was lovely but unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired. Not sure if we’ll be going back which is a shame as we’ve been so many times in the past, it was always one of our favourites, and been completely satisfied.

Second meal here tonight…didn’t disappoint! Service helpful & efficient, lovely smiles. Food is excellent, good sized portions and really good value. These guys really know what they’re doing. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and great sea view. Gave us our drinks free as our wedding anniversary….lovely gesture. We love this place…..thankyou for a lovely evening x

Lunch in the garden overlooking the sea. Lobster 🦞 lovely, fish and chips not greasy. Good choice of drinks and pleasant service. Birthday treat.

Great food, friendly staff, good service

Food very good however service always a bit slow.

Bit disappointing tbh. Seabass was lovely, as was the fillet steak. Rump steak should've been medium, but was well done and some parts were chewy. Asked for lamb to be more pink than standard, but it wasn't, tasted good, but just not cooked as requested. Children's chicken nuggets were hard on the outside, there was salt on the chips, and black pepper on the peas. Anyone with children would know they shouldn't have salt and pepper added to anything. Waitresses were friendly but very busy, so we did have to wait quite a bit. Maybe it was just a one off/bad night, but imo was overpriced and not great. Doubt we will go again

Steak was perfectly cooked and extremely tasty. Lobster tail also lovely.

The food was great, staff were attentive but didn't hover (so had a good balance of being there when needed but not hovering over you) I and i thought it was good value for money

My steak was cooked to perfection. Sea bass was great too. Service good and accommodating, nice wine. Passion fruit mousse was gorgeous.

Went on 21st June 2023 evening. Had our drinks, starters and main meal. Waited for a while for our plates to be collected then got asked to be moved after finishing our main we moved then asked for pudding menu. Myself and partner decided to leave, due its to dark where we was sitting, went to bar to pay the bill and explained that we are leaving as we got to asked to be moved and we was not happy as we booked to request table by the window and got told the table been booked however the person told us we can choose where to sit and decided that we had to move tables. And my partner is registered blind and we communicate using British Sign Language

Food was fantastic, service was good, a tad slow, but two new staff on their own did well. Didn't see a manager on duty. We had Rump, Sirloin & the stuffed chicken, all cooked to perfection - compliments to the chef on a lovely meal.

The Steak was the best I have ever tasted. It was beautifully cooked and seasoned, well done. The Peppercorn sauce was delicious. I had the Passionfruit Mousse for dessert and it was beautiful and light, which was perfect after a Steak. We were downstairs, and I would definitely recommend you sit upstairs. Upstairs is less chaotic, and you'll get a great view of the sea. I would recommend to eat here, the next time I fancy a steak will definitely come back.
