We went on scratch this evening as we are staying locally and this was the first night of a new menu, what can I say absolutely fabulous food and very reasonable. We had the belly pork and our son had the tomato and cheese tagliatelle of the children's menu and these were absolutely brilliant the combination of fresh vegetables and to die for mash thoroughly recommended in fab surroundings. Also worth a mention as our son is a wheelchair user and like most very old buildings can be difficult to negotiate I managed to negotiate the 2 steps but a ramp is available and lastly the staff are great and very attentive 5 out of 5 š.

I haven't been to Dunwich for about 15 years. I remember there used to be a great tea room back then that my mother recommended! This must have long since gone! We had walked cross country from Southwold forgetting what a long walk it is We discovered dingle tea rooms at the end of the walk in a rural setting. It's a lovely setting with extensive barns and tables. Having frequented similar establishments in other parts of the country I thought we were in for a treat Nothing was wrong with the food it was just a little uninspiring. Very plain cakes and prawn sandwiches made from those tiny prawns you buy trozen. All nicely served by attentive waiting staff it just lacked that lush factor that you sometimes find in these sort of places. Maybe my expectations were too high.....

My husband had a lovely meal in September with our sons and their families and raved about it (sadly I was poorly). on a visit to Dunwich heath and beach we then called and booked a table for 4.30pm. The greeting was lovely what a fab menu I chose Fish pie and my husband had belly pork, both dishes were amazingly good portions and deliciousā¦ we both had pud of cheesecake and crumble which again were a good size and delicious, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and canāt wait to eat there again when we are in the area. Brilliant service

I stayed there 23rd for wedding anniversary, well itās living on the past , fine dinning restaurant , well thatās a joke they have no fine dining, It started with the room we walked in thought thatās nice 4 poster but there was cobwebs and dust on the bed , went to the bathroom there was cobwebs everywhere, there is no excuse for that , the teabags werenāt enough for 2 people , they hadnāt touched the room for I donāt know how long , There was a knock on the door had to order the meal I was very disappointed a choice of 4 meals , if we hadnāt booked there was nowhere to go without driving , Saturday they were closed for food

Came with friend's & our dog's yesterday and sat in the bar. The first thing we noticed was the good choice of food on the menu and secondly generous sized portions when the neighbouring table had their 4 meals arrive. When ours arrived (all very well presented) 2 steak and ale pies with mashed potatoes and proper veg (omg excellent) 1 vegetarian quiche with new potatoes and salad (extremely tasty) and lastly the ham egg and chips (again good quality ham, 2 fried eggs and the chips an excellent tasty plateful) Only one of us had room for pudding, a Bailey cheesecake with icecream and very well presented and nice. We are so pleased we heard wonderful thing's about this lovely village pub and decided to give it a try as will most certainly be back. To the chef a massive thank you and keep doing what you are doing.

We spent 4 nights here, bed and breakfast with optional dinner. The room was really comfortable, clean and well maintained. The food was excellent. Good choice on both the breakfast and dinner menus. The meals were very well presented and special mention for the soups! The staff were friendly and helpful. This is our fourth visit to this lovely part of Suffolk. Very restful stay.

One star is too many. My coffee was served in a badly chipped 'cup'. There were heavy sticky deposits on outside of Stokes sauce bottles on the table; there was a lot of dirt and various deposits on the floor; vertical surfaces on chiller cabinet looked very unclean - overall a very grubby place. Probably has a high hygiene rating but the reality is the opposite. First and last visit. I recommend to avoid.
