Beautifully prepared food, it was very quiet and we did wait some time for the food, but as the chef said each meal is prepared fresh and it was well work the wait. Excellent

A very friendly welcome from Steve, he lit a fire & allowed us to dine in the bar by it on a very chilly day which was most thoughtful. The food was amazing, table for 7 on Saturday lunchtime all served together and deliciously good, generous portions. The board games, play area & donkey’s an added bonus. Highly recommend especially for the cozy & traditional atmosphere, coupled with the quality of good food & service make this a must visit

I haven't been to Dunwich for about 15 years. I remember there used to be a great tea room back then that my mother recommended! This must have long since gone! We had walked cross country from Southwold forgetting what a long walk it is We discovered dingle tea rooms at the end of the walk in a rural setting. It's a lovely setting with extensive barns and tables. Having frequented similar establishments in other parts of the country I thought we were in for a treat Nothing was wrong with the food it was just a little uninspiring. Very plain cakes and prawn sandwiches made from those tiny prawns you buy trozen. All nicely served by attentive waiting staff it just lacked that lush factor that you sometimes find in these sort of places. Maybe my expectations were too high.....

I stayed there 23rd for wedding anniversary, well it’s living on the past , fine dinning restaurant , well that’s a joke they have no fine dining, It started with the room we walked in thought that’s nice 4 poster but there was cobwebs and dust on the bed , went to the bathroom there was cobwebs everywhere, there is no excuse for that , the teabags weren’t enough for 2 people , they hadn’t touched the room for I don’t know how long , There was a knock on the door had to order the meal I was very disappointed a choice of 4 meals , if we hadn’t booked there was nowhere to go without driving , Saturday they were closed for food

Just eaten a sausage bap from this place! Coffee was gorgeous and this sausage bap was a thing of poetry and unrivalled, in my opinion! Also, lovely chat from the fabulous young team! The only downside being that I live 160 miles away and was only passing through. Fantastic place ❤️

Birthday celebration weekend. Just perfect relaxation in luxury. Warm friendly welcome and attentive staff with a good selection of beers and wines. The menu felt restricted but that's probably because we all have too much choice in our wealthy western lifestyle. The food was excellent in a relaxed calm atmosphere. Breakfast was perfect. Highly recommended as is a stroll around the beautiful village with thatched church, duck pond and 2nd pub on the green.

Came with friend's & our dog's yesterday and sat in the bar. The first thing we noticed was the good choice of food on the menu and secondly generous sized portions when the neighbouring table had their 4 meals arrive. When ours arrived (all very well presented) 2 steak and ale pies with mashed potatoes and proper veg (omg excellent) 1 vegetarian quiche with new potatoes and salad (extremely tasty) and lastly the ham egg and chips (again good quality ham, 2 fried eggs and the chips an excellent tasty plateful) Only one of us had room for pudding, a Bailey cheesecake with icecream and very well presented and nice. We are so pleased we heard wonderful thing's about this lovely village pub and decided to give it a try as will most certainly be back. To the chef a massive thank you and keep doing what you are doing.

My family and I ate at this pub on New Year's Eve, where I enjoyed the wild boar ragu . For dessert, my uncle and I had the chocolate cremuex, which was better than I expected. The pub offers a enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere with professional bartenders.

I recently moved to the area and stumbled upon the Black Dog Deli – what a gem! I make a point to stop in daily for a flat white, and I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates a great cup of coffee. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the cakes are fantastic!

We booked our table at 4.15 which was the earliest booking left. Despite the fact that it had and was very busy the staff were attentive and were 5 star throughout. The Mothers Day menu was a good mix of types of food. Being gluten free I was impressed with the amount of choice available to me. The starters we had were very good, crispy belly pork a generous portion well flavoured and presented well. Prawn cocktail not the usual small prawns on shredded lettuce instead large juicy prawns on leaves with a tangy freshly made sauce with crunchy sourdough croutons instead of the normal slice d bread. The 3 mains we had were of a very high standard. My daughter had a smoked salmon goats cheese and dill pizza. It had a generous topping and was not swimming in the normal tomato sauce on a crunchy and chewy freshly baked base. I had the roast bellypork and my wife had a very generous portion of roast beef. Both were well cooked and presented belying the fact that nearly 5 hours into service the food was still really good. We had the puddings they appeared to be homemade I had the cheesecake which was gluten free which was nice as I normally am left with ice cream. My only complaint was that a wafer biscuit which was part of the garnish was on my plate if I was gluten allergic not just intolerant it could have been very serious no harm done but just to make you aware. The other 2 puddings were both delicious. Overall the meal and experience was 5 star. I am looking forward to going back there when we are back in Suffolk in July.

What wonderful service we had in this fab cafe. We'd walked to Southwold and back, were tired and needed a drink. We kept changing our mind regarding our order but the assistant was so friendly and calm never getting cross or frustrated! She was so helpful and really lovely. We sat outside in the sunshine. There was an art exhibition next door. It was delightful.
