Just reopened under new owners. Great food & service at reasonable prices. The smoked salmon pizza was particularly good. We’ll be back!

Was passing this pub at lunchtime today and called in for a quick bite to eat. We all had burgers and chips and all was delicious!

Enjoyed a lovely meal last night. Busy and good atmosphere. Nice to see the specials back. Definitely back soon.

Very average food. Over cooked fish that took over an hour to be served. Possibly cooking for that whole time. No apology for the delay and no condiments provided. Won't be going back.

Walking into a strange pub can be a awkward experience but we were made to feel at ease straight away and the locals were happy to talk, a friendly place to drink.

The caption on their website gives a possible clue - "We are currently serving a limited menu, please bear with us during this time. " - perhaps the original chef has moved on...? Basic food served up reasonably well - typical for a pub - suggest you lowere your expectations if basing it on their previous reputation The sooner they get a grip on their "limited menu" the better

This was supposed to be a final treat of our holiday. Having had a holiday home nearby for over 10 years this was our local. Sadly, having travelled quite a few miles to reminis, we were very disappointed with the very limited menu and no "specials" on the board. We made the best we could but didn't enjoy it. Sadly this is not a patch on what it was before.

Called in on the off chance onThursday 16 June for lunch. The place was fairly busy the surroundings pleasant and comfortable. Staff were helpful and very polite, good menu with daily specials. I had the oven roasted pork loin chop in mustard sauce the nicest pork chop I’ve had in a long time,fresh cabbage and new potatoes to accompany. My wife had the pasta in wild mushroom sauce and said it was excellent. The portions were generous and well balanced. We shall visit again when next in the area.

Popped in today 19th Dec 2021, fantastic food and lovely welcome and service!! The food is some of the best I've had this year in all the pubs I have eaten in. The service was very warm and friendly and the pub is clean and very well presented. I will stop here if ever I am this area again without any doubt!! Highly recommended!

We were staying in Blythborough, just 10 minutes up the road from The King's Head. We decided to lunch here, and were greeted with enthusiasm, and seated in the small restaurant, which soon became busy. Despite the place buzzing, the young gentleman providing the service did so with verve, and most enthusiastically. The food was splendid and expertly prepared. The local Earl Soham Victoria Bitter was excellent and the prices were all most acceptable. We were so impressed that we booked for lunch again two days later. Hope to return in the future.

Used to stay in a cottage in Yoxford when on a walking holiday and went The Kings Head 2 or 3 times during the week as the food , wine and prices were excellent. Spent a week recently in the next village and used The Kings Head only once. Limited Menu, average food (my wife's Duck Breast came from somebody's shoe sole), and my Caeser Slad contained little or no Sauce. It was not worth a further visit during the week.

Really enjoyable food in this unassuming roadside pub...the mutton stew with a rich sauce was a treat and the duck was cooked perfectly. Polite and helpful service made for 3 happy visitors...definitely recommend 👍👍👍👍👍

Visited this lovely pub on a weekday evening. The barman greeted us in a very friendly way and we felt instantly welcome. The menu was good and we enjoyed our meal. Would recommend.

Wow what a gem this place is, went for Sunday roast yesterday and it was gorgeous, real home cooked roast with all the trimmings, staff were friendly and excellent service. I highly recommend this place and will certainly be going back again, thank you girls.

Visited Yoxford for 4 nights and had 2 meals in this lovely pub. Staff welcoming and lovely. Had the Sunday Roast and was delicious and excellent quality. Next night I had the salmon and my partner had the cod and chips. Very tasty indeed! Lovely place to eat and highly recommended!

Travelling back from Kent I timed my journey to arrive at this pub for fish and chip lunch. COVID safe, lovely staff and the fish and chips were fabulous. Highly recommend.

Spending two weeks in Suffolk we visited The Kings Head on three occasions as it was within a mile from where we were staying. Well with a visit where you will get a real Country pub welcome and very good food at a reasonable price....

This is our regular watering hole when visiting our holiday home. Really pleased with the efforts to make pub vivid safe. Sadly only a limited menu during these differcult times but what's on offer is excellent. Well done to all staff.

Great pub with friendly staff, fantastic food, and crucially, excellent Covid 19 safety measures. Hand gel at the door, reduced (well spaced) capacity and one-way system. I’m pretty edgy about this and it’s the first time we’ve eaten in since February but I was completely comfortable. Warm welcome and lovely food.

We booked here on a whim after visiting some local antiques centers, and we were so pleased we did! Considering the restrictions faced by public houses and restaurants they have still managed to retain a pleasant warm atmosphere, all whilst imparting correct procedure for social distancing. Lovely local people to talk to at a distance, too. The food was absolutely beautiful - nice small menu which I often find means they can really nail it. Thanks guys, we'll definitely come again!

Good value and reasonable choice - typical pub grub. I can recommend the fish and chips - delicious. Quite busy for a Tuesday evening which suggests it's a popular venue. Unfortunately we only had the one night to sample the menu, otherwise we would have been back..

We were staying in the small village of Yoxford whilst visiting Aldeburgh Warbleswick and Southwold. We searched for pubs and came across The Kings Head, we are so glad we found it. The food was honestly fabulous! I had Liver, Bacon, Onion Gravy, Mash and fresh veg! It was soo delicious and a huge portion! Hubby had the Ribeye Steak with Chips Onion Rings Mushrooms and Tomato. We then shared a Jam Roly Poly and custard. The service was excellent and a lovely friendly atmosphere. Wish we were staying longer as there was so much more on the menu we fancied! We wish the team here all the very best and will defo return on our next trip this way.

Good food, nice staff, quaint crooks and crannies to eat in, loved it, high stools available, big/small open rooms for privacy if you want, rooms to stay in on top but with nasty steps though we had a really lovely, big room with big bed and bathroom, separate living room with sofas etc. Nice place

Beef wellington was on the specials board this week....along with other delights, tempura sea bass and cauliflower four ways to name but two plus others, it’s not a memory game tho! Back to the star of the review.....the beef wellington was soooooi delightful I had a pair...but not on the same day of course! It was served with a perfect fondant potato, tender stem broccoli and a delicious amount of tasty ummm I want to call it gravy but it was special gravy....probably a jus! Don’t take my word for it....get in quickly, whilst it’s still topping the specials board.

I came here with my son, as he recommended the place and I was not disappointed.

We were positively surprised by this public house and restaurant just off the main road in Yoxford. The restaurant has nice and light coloured wooden tables and is very clean. Overall very warm and welcoming. Proper cloth napkins, table service, a very nice menu plus local produce specials. The bar offers a decent variety of ales and lagers, the wine list is okay too. The food was excellent and the portions generous. The facilities appear to be new and are very clean and spacious. There is ample, lit parking outside.

After a 400 mile car journey and a bit lost I was desperate for food so randomly pulled in here. Every table was reserved (so popular) but the lovely bar lady fitted me in. Out came a superb burger with lots of cheese, tasty relish and gherkins, thick cut chips- perfectly cooked like armadillos (crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle). Which, actually, seems a simple thing but it’s been ages since I came across perfect chips.

We ate here on a Sunday evening.

Ignored the recent bad reviews, thinking it can’t be that bad. It was! Dinner was inedible. Gave the steak to the dog. Left most of it on the plate. Combined with terrible service and the hour long wait for the food to arrive it is certainly no longer the best place to eat in the area. The table next to us said it was DISGUSTING. Visited today with my wife for a late lunch and both ordered a pot of tea for two but were told that they only do a cup of tea,which I accepted.To my utter astonishment,we were served two glass cups which were only half full! seriously,how much effort would it take to fill the cups fully? Perhaps hot water is at a premium in Suffolk? At £2 for a measly cup of tea,this is without doubt,the worst case of overcharging we have ever experienced! However,we ordered the Kings Head Chicken and were really impressed!,The portions were large and the food tasted great!

For the last 2+ years we have regularly met up with family and usually there is at least 9 of us. Today we were 11 arriving at 11.50 as booked a table for 12noon.

Staying at a local campsite we fancied a pub meal after a long day out in Walberswick / Southwold. We called ahead to check availability, space for parking a motorhome and whether dogs were welcome. Positive responses - 3 in a row and a bonus mark! The bonus mark was that Sunday roast was still available at 7pm :-)

We were in Suffolk visiting relatives and we had arranged for a family meal for five. We had been to the Kings Head before and so we knew the high standard to expect. We were not disappointed. The meal was delicious and well served. I had the rabbit which came in generous portions and was so good.

Visited this fine establishment on the off chance, the pub was quite busy but the friendly staff found us a table, good menu selection serving local produce, a clean and comfortable place to have a meal out, we shall definitely go again.

There four of us and we all ordered soon after our arrival. The food took 45 minutes to arrive and then only two turned up. The third meal was 5 minutes later and the fourth a further 5 minutes after we asked where it was. The fourth meal had to be returned as the vegetables were cold and raw and this was replaced with a salad at the diners request. This arrived 10 minutes later by which time everybody else had finished eating. Two deserts were ordered and took at least twenty minutes for one to arrive and for the other diner to be told they did not have what was ordered. The food in my opinion was at the best average and the waiting staff really did not seem to care whether we were there or not. An all round poor experience and nothing would persuade me to return. I assume if you are a local you get treated well judging by what I saw.

Stopped hear for a late lunch when visiting the area with friends. We were struggling to find somewhere that was still serving food after 2pm, however the Kings head does food all day, so 9 of us stopped for lunch. We were pleased we did, very friendly staff made us very welcome.

Funny, mixed experience, this. The barmaid wasn’t very welcoming and we had to stay in the quiet and very plain bar area for our dinner as, contrastingly, the separate restaurant was full, We felt a little excluded somehow. We waited about 40 mins to be served but, when it came, the food was excellent. My fish and chips were beautifully fried, golden and not greasy with a superb tartare sauce. My son enjoyed his liver and bacon. Huge portions and excellent value at £10-12 for mains. We certainly didn’t need a dessert.

A very popular pub so we booked in advance and glad we did so. The food selection was good and the quality of the food we ate was also good. The proprietor was very friendly and accommodating and couldn't do more for us.

Having a holiday caravan nearby we often call in for a meal. Staff always cheerful and welcoming. Never had a poor meal. It's a must for us to visit for a great meal at reasonable prices.

Called on spec during our last evening visiting the area. The restaurant was busy but the staff proved very helpful and found us a table. A group of us stopped in for Sunday lunch as we were staying nearby. We sat in the small bar area and the staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Stoped off as feeling peckish. Had driven to Eels Foot only to discover they do not serve food till 1800 so decided to just stop anywhere.

We ate here twice during our recent visit to the area. The Sunday roast was very good, loads of veggies, tender beef and very tasty gravy. Our second visit for dinner was also good. The staff were friendly and efficient so it was not surprising that particularly on the Sunday this pub and restaurant was very busy. Easy parking and easy to find. Would recommend.

We headed here on the back of the reviews on Tripadvisor. Not disappointed at all. The fish and chips were fabulous, big fish indeed! Children shared a burger which was excellent. Prices are very reasonable too. On top of that, other dishes I saw going out looked pretty delicious.

This was well worth the visit. The food was lovely and there was a good menu. The staff were welcoming and hospitable. Would definitely recommend this PH. One thing to note: ring to book a table as emails were not working.

Despite being down a chef I'm delighted that the chef who was on duty cooked my pan fried Guinea fowl with hot gooseberry chutney and fried cabbage with bacon. The combinations worked well. I was tempted with starter but wanted to leave room or a pud. It always seems to help the kitchen if you have a starter to nibble while the main course is being cooked.

Went to the kings head of yoxford for my father in laws birthday dinner. Food was lovely everyone really enjoyed their food and really good portion sizes aswell. The staff were very helpful overall a very good evening and great pub.

Been here a hour and a quarter. Ordered our food within 15 mins. Yes. My wife a d I had starters which took 45 mins to arrive, hoping our 3 kids food would come then as they were easy burgers a d ham egg and chips. Our food came. It's now a hour and 7 mins since we ordered and the mains still haven't arrived. There are only 6 tables and EVERYONE has been fed. We are still waiting. Used to love this place and am never coming here again. I really hope the managers or owners see this as they can see they have lost custom due to their slow service. I really want to leave now, pay for what food we have had and go to the nearest kebab shop.. update. 1 hour and 15 mins later food arrives.

We called in on the off chance, late one afternoon. There was one unreserved table left. The dining area is on a small scale and you can easily overhear other diners conversations from time to time.

What a disappointment as this place came recommended and as it was rated well on Trip Advisor we felt fairly certain about having a reasonable meal. We tried to book a table on-line twice from Nottingham and this failed so when we reached our holiday destination at Darsham we telephoned to make a reservation and they agreed 8pm.

We were recommended this pub by friends who had stayed nearby and we were not disappointed. A friendly welcome, good choice of craft beers and a good choice on the menu and specials board. I had the steak (perfectly cooked) and my wife had the pork from the specials board ( again perfectly cooked) The vegetables were fresh and seasonal. We really didn't have room for dessert! Recommend booking as all tables were full be mid evening.

What a wonderful little find the Kings Head was. My wife and I were staying at a nearby hotel and fancied a nice pub meal and decided to go to the Kings Head. The decor was very lovely and cosy and had a well stocked bar. The barmaid was very pleasant and polite. Our meals of sausages and mash and lemon sole was excellent. We then had their fantastic rhubarb and blackcurrant crumble which was to die for. We would certainly go back again.

We popped in for a quick drink and ended up staying for four! It was very friendly, and although we didn't eat here the food that we saw coming out of the kitchen looked amazing.

Tasty liver and bacon, crispy veg, good variety of real ales and tasty red wine. What’s not to like.

Simple food cooked really well - the carrot and coriander soup nearly made the case for being full after the starter. However, we “struggled” into the main course, a wonderful sausage and mash (with side vegetables cooked to perfection). All in all, we had to give up there before sight of the dessert menu (and I don’t say that often). Oh, and did I forget to mention, dogs are welcome (which is not a given). All in all, a wonderful night out. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere.

Ate here on two evenings during a very pleasant and relaxing few days in Yoxford. Our first visit was on the Sunday evening we arrived. The pub stands prominently at the Junction with the A12 and Yoxford Road and on first sight looked very welcoming. Although they were very busy we managed to grab a table. They stopped serving at 7.30pm on Sundays so a few of the specials had gone but the food we had was excellent. I had the local sausage, mash and vegetables, a timeless classic but well presented and delicious. They have a good choice of local beers and a varied and reasonably priced wine list.

Mum and I stopped in for an evening meal after a long day. Having driven past hundreds of times we decided to book on recommendation of our accommodation. What a lovely welcome as we walked in the door and cheerful service throughout. The pub isn’t overly fancy but good specials up on the blackboard (why bother with most of rest of the menu!?). We both had fish and chips for a bit of comfort food - the chips were unbeatable but the fish rather lacklustre if I’m honest. However, overall a really good experience and we joined in the weekly quiz as we were made to feel so welcome. A proper pub!

We were recommended to visit this place for our Monthly “Ladies that Lunch” gathering, there were five in our party and four of us had the cod and chips. We waited in excess of 45 minutes for our meal which was too long and we noticed that other people who’d come in after us were fed first, which was a bit annoying. They seemed to be short staffed as it was mainly one guy rushing around doing everything and apologising all the time. The chips were excessively chunky. The fish was full of bones (more than is acceptable) and had no taste, which made it an unpleasant dining experience with the batter being greasy. Pudding saved the meal and five different desserts were all throughly enjoyed, they also arrived within a reasonable length of time. Toilets were in a poor state with flush button missing and cubicles not all that clean, however excellent washing and drying hand facilities and dining area the perfect temperature. Car park rather rutty but good access on and off the A12. Not sure if we’d visit again as considering location one expects much better fish and chips.

My partner and I visited recently, the pub was busy and was clearly doing well from the passing trade.

This small pub and Restuarant is one of the best. Great food reasonably priced and consistently good, imaginative, freshly cooked fare. It's our favourite "go to" in the area. Game in season is really, really good. Pheasant carbonara, game pie, pheasant as a choice for the best Sunday roast and whatever the imaginative chefs cook up for the day. Did I mention their crayfish and prawn salad it's a wow dish. Don't visit too often or we we won't get a table!!!
