The best restaurants in Old Town Stevenage East of England

It’s not the 1st time we have visited Angelique’s and the service and food is excellent but today they excelled themselves. It was our Daughters birthday and the service was excellent too as were the staff. Very enjoyable afternoon was had by all.

My friends had booked this restaurant for Saturday night We had the set menu A for 4 people Mixed starters, duck with pancakes then chicken, beef dishes, veg and rice All very good & right size portions Staff were friendly & gave u the right amount of time between courses Would return

One dish lacking favour which was a shame and not the first time so we should order different things each time

Danger !!!!! The ticket machine was tampered with when I wanted to buy a ticket. 1800CHF loss.

Quality like the other curry offering High St restaurants. Quality service and food for the price point.

Smaller portion sizes than shown on the Deliveroo. Cutting costs at the price to feeding customers. Very poor. Will not be ordering again.

Venue hire - Upstairs. We hired the venue for my daughter's 21st birthday party. The booking was easy and Luke the manager for bookings was good with communication & getting back to me & covering all our needs. We did our own music, the options were there for DJ, Cinnabar music or our own. The leads were there ready for us to use via our phone. Great sound. Atmosphere was great. The space in the room was perfect, bar and toilets and dance space. Only thing was they ran out of draught beer very quickly. It meant alotnof guests had to go down to main bat. Whilst setting up the floor was untidy but they assured us it would be clean for the evening and it was. Would definitely recommend and return for another occasion. Thank you to all the bar staff who greeted us, served and helped in any way that we needed.

Lovely lunch today with my sisters. Food was delicious, love the luxurious art deco decor , very clean, staff were great, relaxed atmosphere and great selection of drinks even if you're driving! Just a little wait for food but freshly cooked.

Very quick delivery. Very wide menu and choice. Phone call from restaurant to make sure of what I ordered. Absolutely delicious food on arrival. Very happy and have eaten in restaurant which was equally good

Always very nice sausage rolls at Simmons - they're the only ones I like! My husband loves a breakfast baguette from here but pretty much everything they do that we've tasted is good. Coffee is a bit meh and the food is a little expensive but it is what it is. Always reliable :)

Kids ordered pizza for delivery, wrong sized pizzas turned up so kids sent them back. My 16 year old rung up again to order correct size pizza was asked if “is this is a fu**ing joke” and told to “fu** off” disgusting way to talk to a child. Husband then rung up to complain only to be told we can never order from them again?? What an absolute joke of a business with foul mouthed staff AVOID

First order they sent was completely wrong and then we asked for a reorder they said they were closing soon. Managed to eventually get them to send a new one in the end that turned up all smashed in the bag and all the contents everywhere. Saved some for the next day to reheat though and found plastic from some sort of packaging inside. Do not go to or order from here!!!

Lovely staff and owners are always friendly and welcoming. Nice choice of drinks on draft and cosy atmosphere, especially when the fire is on. Usual clientele are always friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Das Personal war superfreundlich und das Essen grandios! Es ist ein bisschen laut und eng, aber man kann nicht alles haben ;-). Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

We just ended up being fleeced for a service charge of 5.50!!! On top of £3 extra side dishes on 13.95 each set menu night. This place used to be 12.95 and got so much more included. Just got home to Diarrhea and sickness. Never again here AVOID. Like so many other restaurants in stevenage old town now they ripping you off.
