Great food, great staff. We had dinner with friends here - would highly recommend the pad kra pao, delicious and not too spicy!

Food was amazing. However, when we asked if we could order dessert our server informed us that the kitchen was too busy to do this. We paid the bill and left, stopping off at a dessert house instead.

Wonderful food, cannot fault and tasted like we were in Thailand again. Food tasted authentic, often places seems to western dishes but the food here is fantastic. Lovely, friendly service Recommend booking!

I’ve visited this restaurant a few times and enjoyed the food. However, I decided to get a takeaway for the first time and it wasn’t great. Firstly, the rice was really, really soggy (I’ve had Thai jasmine rice many times and know that it is usually sticky but this was next level soggy and very bland). The mixed starter for two was tiny, and hugely overpriced for what you get - definitely not worth £20. The curries however are delicious (chicken panang and beef massaman). It’s a shame the meal wasn’t very balanced in terms of quality but it was ok overall….

Beautiful meal at lunchtime. The lunch menu was lovely and varied and we all chose something different. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back again. I’m wondering if tomorrow is too soon for a revisit! 😀 One of the few restaurants in the old town that has wheelchair access too, which is an extra plus point.

Food was delicious. I ordered the chicken ginger and my partner the pad pik pao chicken which was fresh, loaded with chicken and totally delicious! Really authentic taste and I’ve travelled to Thailand many many times. Staff were attentive, polite and very well spoken. Their English is clear, and their friendly, warm personalities shorn through. The best Thai restaurant in town. In fact, the best Thai restaurant I’ve eaten in, in the entire UK. Just for info, I am not linked to this restaurant in any way other than as a customer. Didn’t know what to expect but this place is a gem. One of the best Thai meals I’ve ever had. Great atmosphere and food is fantastic! Shall be there again, potentially next week.

Amazing food and lovely service. Sadly when we booked our table for four six weeks out I asked for a quiet table! Our friends had been before and enjoyed their visits and the food. However my request for a quiet table was ignored and this spoiled our evening, we simply had to shout at each other! If you like to talk during a meal avoid Saturdays here! We might return because the food was really good but never at a weekend after last night's experience!

Four of us booked for dinner with a sixth month baby. Delicious meal. Good service. Excellent wonton with prawns followed by stir fried ginger chicken with egg fried rice. Nice decor and atmosphere. The staff were friendly. It was a busy Saturday night and plenty of customers. I was surprised at some of the recent poor reviews. It was not our experience.

The worst Thai meal I’ve ever had. Menu is very small and quite over priced, nearly £15 for a pad Thai which was quite bland. Staff were un-attentive and a couple of them miserable and quite rude. The restaurant was busy so I got the impression they felt they didn’t need to consider good customer service. This is more like a cafe vibe than a restaurant being quite loud with little ambience. To add insult to injury I’m pretty sure they were serving the small measure of wine in a smaller wine glass then claiming it was the medium size. I know my wine and how long it takes me to drink a glass. Plus when I had soda in one it hardly tasted of wine at all. In a small glass a medium wine with soda would have have had a noticeably obvious taste of wine instead it seemed to be mostly soda. I queried it and they assured me it was a medium, without watching them pour the glass there was nothing I could do. Certainly wont be returning, I’ve paid less in central london and had better food and honest wine measures!

Sorry this is a long read. Myself and 2 friends visited this restaurant at the end of June 2022, we had booked a couple of months previously and were looking forward to our evening. Unfortunately from the minute we arrived at the restaurant we were disappointed. We had our table booked for 8pm, we arrived on time to a packed restaurant, we had to stand waiting for our table for 20mins before being seated. We sat for 30 mins waiting to be asked if we wanted to order a drink, in the end we managed to get the attention of the waitress who came and took our drinks order, 45 mins from being seated to get a drink. We took advantage of having the waitress at our table and ordered our food at this point. Trying to get their attention was difficult and the sighing and rolling of eyes by the waitress made us feel a little out of order for asking her to do her job! Anyway our starters arrived at 9.35pm (table booked at 8pm remember) which were very nice but to be honest I would have eaten a scabby dog at this point. Our main courses arrived at 9.57pm by the eye rolling waitress who told us the kitchen was now closed and so was the bar! We had finished our drinks and requested more as our main course had just been served and her response "well I don't make the rules" with a roll of the eyes and a huff for effect. A more senior waitress arrived and advised that we could order more drinks which we did. We ate our food which to be fair was nice and drinking our wine and chatting when our lovely waitress brought over our bill which we hadn't asked for and told us they were closing! It was a Friday night and 10.40pm....when we said we hadn't even been shown the dessert menu and we hadn't finished our drinks she rolled her eyes again and got the more senior waitress to come over. We weren't happy with her response so requested the owner to come over (he works behind the bar). Well the attitude was shocking apparently they were really busy and short staffed that was the reason for the rolling of eyes and huffing and puffing!!! They had been accepting walkins all night but couldn't actually service their pre-booked tables, the response to that was, so what do you want as you clearly want something! I said an apology would be nice but we didn't get one of those, after much attitude he deducted £20 from a £150 bill. If you want service with a smile or without attitude I recommend you go to the other Thai restaurant in the old town, avoid this one.

The food here is amazing! As a Londoner the prices here are London prices (for mains) which I wasn’t expecting but when you see the quality of produce, portion sizes and then taste you won’t be left disappointed or shirt changed. I’ve been here a few times and have never left disappointed or hungry. Staff are very happy and welcoming. The only area where they could ‘up their game’ is to be more accommodating with changes to some dishes with meat choices as it’s a fixed menu. I’ll definitely be going back!

Three of us went there on the last Wednesday in August for the 50% deal. I thought I had done online reservation but the waitress pointed out that I had not received a confirmation but she managed to find a table for three. We had great food and a great evening. Celebrated my birthday here and I wanted my family to experience Thai but disappointed as serving was way to small, we had reservation but they keep us waiting when we arrived as our table was not ready and the waitress was irritated all through out serving us. But the place has nice ambience and food presentation was nice.My family specifically said I was having a birthday dinner but they just forgot my bday treat and just put a coco ice cream that says Happy Birthday lol in a rush! Called three times as the menu looked great. A voice explains that they’re open and reassures me that I should wait on the line, then after about 5-6 mins of waiting it just hangs up! Pretty frustrating. Took me from hungry to hangry in record time!

Have wanted to eat here for years but just never got round to it as always travelling with work, however finally ordered food for delivery.Got the sriracha wings + duck spring rolls to start. The wings were fantastic, plenty of sauce which meant they were dry and flavoursome. The duck spring rolls were a bit dry and wasn't a fan of the sauce with it (personal preference), but think that's more down to it not being eaten as soon as it's cooked. Flavour was good, just a tad dry.For mains I had Thai green curry (chicken) + egg fried rice. Both were lovely, very sizable portions, and plenty of chicken in the curry.Overall, really good food and glad I finally got to eat here.(ordered via their website, easy, clear and quick delivery)

We’re lucky that several of our favourite restaurants have switched to delivering during this really difficult period of social distancing. Easy online ordering and a pretty accurate delivery time. The lamb shank and slow roasted beef were both brilliant, only dish that didn’t travel so well was the sweet and sour chicken as it had gone a little hard but was still tasty. Thanks Sala Thong!

They continue to maintain their high standards here, I tried two new dishes and both were excellent. Testament to the quality of the food was the fact that the restaurant was almost full on a Thursday lunchtime.The staff are friendly and helpful (we love Grace.!) and there’s a good vibe to the place. I f you like Thai food you’ll love it here, I had the scallops to start and the best pad Thai ever to follow and had some of my friend’s red curry which was also superb.I’ve been here around 50 times now and very rarely had a below par meal - long may it continue, I just wish they’d install Wi-Fi, ridiculous they don’t have it to be honest.

Having spent many months in Thailand in the past and being starved of a local Thai restaurant, we were so desperate for a Thai restaurant in the area, and when Sala Thong opened we couldn't have been happier, it was like the Gods had answered our prayers. We have been coming here since it opened and absolutely love it! The staff are so friendly and accomodating and the food is fantastic. Not a week goes by without us eating here or ordering a takeaway. Enjoy!

During a business trip from the US, had a dinner with colleagues at Sala Thong. This was the second time eating at this restaurant within the past year. The food and atmosphere is great. I had both the Thai Ale as well as a glace of Malbec. The entrees and appetizers were great. I definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for upscale Thai.

We often come here for lunch. The food is fantastic and the waitresses are so friendly, I can't speak more highly of them, always a smile when we come in and so friendly. The food is always served fresh and hot. Of all the times we have visited, we have never been disappointed.

Excellent as always. Theres a great vibe in this restaurant and the food is amazing, just like being back in Thailand. Treated myself to a cocktail too which was delicious. I booked in advance as is always best here as it's a popular restaurant with many return diners. If you like Thai food then this will not disappoint! My favourite restaurant in Stevenage by far. It's a little pricey but in all fairness you pay for quality. My friend and I had scallops and chicken satay for starters and then we shared the lobster green curry with sides of jasmine rice (sticky rice) and stir fried veggies. Seriously good food! The cocktail pictured is a Cosmopolitan. Definitely recommend.

Fantastic food! A work colleague and I visited for dinner, we had the sharing platter, a massam and penang curry each. All the food was excellent, highly recommended.

Visit was a family occasion celebrating a birthday. All good until 4 undesirables took a table. Throughout the evening they swore, shouted loudly and were totally obnoxious. Despite there being families with children present the management and staff did nothing to stop this (they were well aware of what was going on).

Visited this restaurant for the fourth time as a party of 4 as have always enjoyed the food here but won't be returning again as on this occasion a party of 4 undesirable attention seeking individuals were being loud, obnoxious and swearing profusely despite there being families present whilst the owner and staff of the restaurant, who were clearly aware this was happening, did absolutely nothing to stop it.

Tom Yum Potak too good to miss, staff will cook to your liking if you need more spicy, always busy so need to book although they will always try to fit you in. Could try skinning the monkfish better and not cook so much so it's not chewy. Staff great if you get to know them.

We were a party of 11 on a Saturday night, restaurant was very busy as you would expect. Drink and food orders taken promptly starters came out in good time, however we had to wait over an hour for our main courses and although food was good for some in the party it was a bit late to really enjoy the food. Food was very tasty some dishes seemed much hotter than the menu suggested! soft shell crab was excellent.

I have eaten here a few times and happy to say the food, service and atmposphere is still good. The spicey dishes are just that with Tom Yum Goom hot, and sour with good prawns. Only thing i would now say is maybe an update to the menu.

This restaurant has the most amazing carved wooden door as you enter and inside it is very hip and trendy decor. We had the lunchtime menu which was 2 courses & a drink for £11.99 awesome value for fabulous food. My daughter is vegan and there was no issue with taking egg away from a noodle dish. We had various starters from tempura veg to duck & prawn rolls.All were presented well and with fresh ingredients.

Love the food here and never disappointed! Last visit we shared scallops (divine) and squid (excellent) plus a papaya salad which was hot spicy tasty and absolutely brilliant but you must like it hot! Mains of monkfish curry and stir fried prawns excellent so two very happy customers yet again! Always busy with lots atmosphere.

First time here was pleasantly surprised menu was straight forward as I dont like spicy food clear guidance on heat choose a rice noodle dish and it was very tasty will definitely return.

We eat here regularly, I’m guessing I’ve dined here more than 25 times since it opened and we know most of the staff. I‘m always keen for restaurants to maintain standards though and while every visit has been good to excellent recently, our visit last week was slightly marred by a beef massaman with some chewy beef and it seems they’ve dropped the onions from the dish.! As somebody who’s been cooking a long time I can safely say that the meat needed longer, slower cooking and I was a little disappointed that the guy who cleared our dishes didn’t ask how the meal was or why we’d left so much meat in one dish.

I met friends for lunch at Sala Thong and we all had the lunchtime deal which when we visited was £11.99 for starter, main meal & drink each.

Sala Thong is a must visit! The food is full of flavour and perfectly spiced. The Thai curry’s are a personal favourite and the Tiger Cry. Staff are very friendly and attentive, you defiantly need to book in advance!

Good food, staff very polite and welcoming, Service was very good, nothing to complain about in this restaurant.

Visited on a weekday evening - very busy so glad we booked. The chicken satay was very nice as was the pad Thai. Overall the food was very good. Service was rather slow. The room was nice but the low ceiling and no soft furnishing means that it gets quite noisy. Overall the food makes it worth going to.

I recommend the chicken skewers, the scallops are amazing and the Lobster curry with Jasmine rice. Presentation is beautiful. I cannot fault this place. It's an absolute gem of a restaurant and we're blessed to have it. I will keep going back.
