A good place ruined by poor service! It's an inviting, airy space, they do good community and charitable work here and the menu is inviting, with good vegetarian options. However, the woman at the counter was very rude in a over-the-top polite, passive aggressive kind of way. The kind of parochial behaviour you would expect to see on Alan Partridge! If Steve Coogan happens to read this, you could research your next series here ;)

We went to Bury St Edmunds for my wife’s birthday weekend and had booked to go to the Zap Thai. From the start to the end it was an absolute pleasure with the wonderful owner and her team. She totally went the extra mile to make it a special occasion. There was birthday decorations on the table, all sourced by the owner and even when the birthday cake was being brought in my wife was serenaded by the local choir who was at the table next to us. (I wouldn’t have been surprised if it had been arranged by the owner!!!) The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, was supported by very friendly and attentive staff. The food was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone coming to Bury St Edmunds. Thank you so much for a lovely evening.

Not a bad charity shop overall, plenty of stock, wheelchair accessible and some classic/vintage crockery towards the back. The only downside is the pricing, quite a few items are up for sale that are sometimes double the price than they are normally. For example their second hand dvds, which they sell at £2 each, CEX you can buy the same thing for £1 and other charity shops usually 3 for £1 or 5 for £1. If you want your store to put more money through the till you need to make the products that are donated to you more accessible to the people that want to support the charity.

Have seen nothing but amazing reviews, but I think you need to pick your moment. We ordered about an hour before closing on a Saturday (they close Sun/Mon/Tue) and the chicken had obviously been cooked earlier and hot-held so they could get a jumpstart on cleaning the kitchen. Meat was dry, breading soft and the wings had been sitting in their own oil for long enough that one whole half of them was pretty inedible. Fries and shakes were great, but not what I was expecting from the rest.

We had a wonderful first-time experience trying Greek food at The Olive Grove. The service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great spot for a new culinary adventure. The chef was kind enough to offer flavorful recommendations, which we appreciated as newcomers to Greek cuisine. The moussaka was a standout, reminiscent of lasagna with its rich, comforting layers—absolutely delicious! The bougatsa dessert was a lovely surprise, perfectly sweet and beautifully presented. Every dish was well-plated, adding to the overall enjoyment. While we weren’t fans of the calamari, which felt a bit chewy and fishy, or the cheese balls, which were surprisingly sweet, we recognize these might be hits for those familiar with Greek flavors. It could just be an acquired taste for us as first-timers. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and we’d recommend The Olive Grove to anyone looking to explore Greek cuisine in a welcoming setting.

Room looks magnificent, bed comfortable. But there's no water in the bathroom, hot or cold, there's no answer on the telephone when you call to ask them to sort it out, and there's no response to email. So disappointed that I can hardly begin to put it into words. No idea where I can go for a shower before attending a funeral this afternoon.

Very poor, where to start. slow service waitresses with lack of experience, had to chase up coffees and then had to get someone's attention to order more drinks. Builders breakfast basic and lukewarm at best serviced on a plate and then a bowl? This would be easier both to serve and to eat on a plate, the waitress nearly dropped it on the table as it was heavy. No management figure present with no attention to detail. With so many options in Bury S Edmunds I will not be returning, reading other comments I don't think this place is very popular it seems. My advise spend your money elsewhere
