Have seen nothing but amazing reviews, but I think you need to pick your moment. We ordered about an hour before closing on a Saturday (they close Sun/Mon/Tue) and the chicken had obviously been cooked earlier and hot-held so they could get a jumpstart on cleaning the kitchen. Meat was dry, breading soft and the wings had been sitting in their own oil for long enough that one whole half of them was pretty inedible. Fries and shakes were great, but not what I was expecting from the rest.

A pre Christmas mini break in Bury St Edmunds sent us in search for some places to eat. Our first evening spent at the renowned Mowgli was fun but little did we know what else was on offer in an unassuming little Thai restaurant in the heart of the City. From the kindness on the phone, as they squeezed us in at late notice, to the warmest of welcomes and then the food….absolutely delicious. Pom and her team are doing a fantastic job and the whole experience gave us renewed hope for dining out, in and around where we live. If you like Thai food do go and eat here, you will love everything about it. We are already planning zipping to Zap in 2025.

A good place ruined by poor service! It's an inviting, airy space, they do good community and charitable work here and the menu is inviting, with good vegetarian options. However, the woman at the counter was very rude in a over-the-top polite, passive aggressive kind of way. The kind of parochial behaviour you would expect to see on Alan Partridge! If Steve Coogan happens to read this, you could research your next series here ;)

Not a bad charity shop overall, plenty of stock, wheelchair accessible and some classic/vintage crockery towards the back. The only downside is the pricing, quite a few items are up for sale that are sometimes double the price than they are normally. For example their second hand dvds, which they sell at £2 each, CEX you can buy the same thing for £1 and other charity shops usually 3 for £1 or 5 for £1. If you want your store to put more money through the till you need to make the products that are donated to you more accessible to the people that want to support the charity.

I've visited Pea Porridge several times over the years. I am never disappointed, but I am always surprised. The menu changes all the time; at every visit there is something that jumps off the page and says 'try me!'. The dilemma is, why one to try? Everything sounds wonderful, and when you see dishes arriving at adjoining tables, you wished you'd tried those too. Even walking into the restaurant and being greeted by the wonderful aromas is such a treat. Lunch last week was simply wonderful. My guest and I have spoken about it many times since, which says it all really. It is a whole experience from the moment you walk through the door, to the moment you leave. Jurga is very knowledgeable, and her advice on dishes and wine accompaniment is most welcome. Pea Porridge is an absolute gem. I feel very lucky that it is just a couple of miles away. I cannot imagine the hard work and long hours that go into making a dining experience at Pea Porridge seem so seamless and relaxed. I always come away feeling a sense of calm, and well-being after being so well looked after by Jurga, Justin and their team. Congratulations on retaining your Michelin Star. It is well deserved.

I rather foolishly took my bike to Halfords for a gold service, and after going back five times for a variety of problems, mainly the gears not working, they told me that they had 'fixed it to the best of their ability'. In fairness the right hand gear shift worked fine, but the left was extremely poor. I then took it to Maglia Rosso where Ben had a look at it, he identified the problem and sorted it within half an hour!! I have since taken it for a ride and it now works brilliantly. I will be returning as and when my bike needs further work and would fully recommend others to do so. Having spoken at length with Ben I found him to be extremely personable, knowledgable and helpful.

Room looks magnificent, bed comfortable. But there's no water in the bathroom, hot or cold, there's no answer on the telephone when you call to ask them to sort it out, and there's no response to email. So disappointed that I can hardly begin to put it into words. No idea where I can go for a shower before attending a funeral this afternoon.

The server was fantastic and seemed to be providing service to all of the tables whilst everyone else watched. She had dark skin and dark hair but did not catch her name. There was a young lad with 90’s styled curtains and a white T shirt in the kitchen, constantly looking out at diners (there were only 4) and talking about some of their regulars negatively, as well as playing on phones loudly for customers to hear. I heard bad mouthing about customers, swearing and videos on phones. It was clear that the owner was not present and the kitchen was making the most of this. There was a little noise from whoever else was there but I would say it was acceptable, though the young English lad should find himself another job. Been twice in a month following a great first visit but won’t be back as a result.

Very poor, where to start. slow service waitresses with lack of experience, had to chase up coffees and then had to get someone's attention to order more drinks. Builders breakfast basic and lukewarm at best serviced on a plate and then a bowl? This would be easier both to serve and to eat on a plate, the waitress nearly dropped it on the table as it was heavy. No management figure present with no attention to detail. With so many options in Bury S Edmunds I will not be returning, reading other comments I don't think this place is very popular it seems. My advise spend your money elsewhere
