A good place ruined by poor service! It's an inviting, airy space, they do good community and charitable work here and the menu is inviting, with good vegetarian options. However, the woman at the counter was very rude in a over-the-top polite, passive aggressive kind of way. The kind of parochial behaviour you would expect to see on Alan Partridge! If Steve Coogan happens to read this, you could research your next series here ;)

Stumbled across this Cafe today while in Bury and I have to say - what a find! I was drawn to it by the Canadian flags as I am Canadian. I enquired as to the Canadian flags to be told the owners had lived in Canada. They brought back with them not only an alternative more found in Canada style of breakfast which was outstanding, but most importantly the level of customer service you find more accross the pond than here - the lady felt my food had taken too long so removed the cost of my coffee from the bill! Much appreciated. This place is definitely worth a visit, thank you!

I rather foolishly took my bike to Halfords for a gold service, and after going back five times for a variety of problems, mainly the gears not working, they told me that they had 'fixed it to the best of their ability'. In fairness the right hand gear shift worked fine, but the left was extremely poor. I then took it to Maglia Rosso where Ben had a look at it, he identified the problem and sorted it within half an hour!! I have since taken it for a ride and it now works brilliantly. I will be returning as and when my bike needs further work and would fully recommend others to do so. Having spoken at length with Ben I found him to be extremely personable, knowledgable and helpful.

Very poor, where to start. slow service waitresses with lack of experience, had to chase up coffees and then had to get someone's attention to order more drinks. Builders breakfast basic and lukewarm at best serviced on a plate and then a bowl? This would be easier both to serve and to eat on a plate, the waitress nearly dropped it on the table as it was heavy. No management figure present with no attention to detail. With so many options in Bury S Edmunds I will not be returning, reading other comments I don't think this place is very popular it seems. My advise spend your money elsewhere

We were walking along the street on a Friday evening and heard the folk music so popped in. I wasn't sure what was going on but it was a folk evening where people come along and play ad hoc. We weren't sure if they sold alcohol but they had an extensive choice and we ordered two martini's which were lovely and good value. I had a coffee which was lovely . The service was excellent and everyone was very friendly.

Our meal, drinks and the general ambience were fine. However, I was horrified when I had to visit the Ladies toilet facility. First of all, the wall-mounted radiator was more rust than metal, and I'm guessing based on its current rust state, must have been in situ for 20 to 30 years. Something else on the wall alongside, presumably the electric hand-drier but I can't recall for sure, was nearly as badly rusted, and together it gave the whole bathroom set up a real shabby feel. I then checked the 2 toilet cubicles so I could choose the one that looked best for use. Both toilet seats were barely attached to the bowls. Both were slipped off to one side, and when I tried to straighten one prior to gently sitting down on it for fear of slipping off onto the floor, the whole seat also slid forward from the back. I think it was held on by good-will more than anything practical. The sink/sinks were fairly clean but the taps harbored much mold and limescale around the bases. I really cannot grasp why businesses, particularly food establishments, find it so hard to keep clean and in good and safe working order these basic but much needed facilities. What's the point in expending effort in your dining room and bar, with good food and decent staff, if you don't then pay a bit extra to keep the toilet facilities clean, fresh, modern and usable? Nearly every visitor will use that facility, so why not double the positive impact by their impression of the bathroom facilities rather than completely negate any positives created by what they experience in the restaurant?
