Excellent choice of menu and interesting Greek dishes. We had a sharing tapas-type platter, lamb tagline and stuffed aubergine. High quality, tasty dishes . Service was friendly and helpful from Freddy and Seb. Would definitely recommend.

We love coming to The Olive Grove because not only is the food delicious (and reasonably priced) but the staff are so lovely. Two young waiters served us really nicely today and last time an absolutely lovely lady who really went above and beyond for us. The wines are excellent and we love the decor and ambience. Just a great place to eat in town. We would recommend it to anyone. Thank you lovely Olive Grove!

We had a wonderful first-time experience trying Greek food at The Olive Grove. The service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great spot for a new culinary adventure. The chef was kind enough to offer flavorful recommendations, which we appreciated as newcomers to Greek cuisine. The moussaka was a standout, reminiscent of lasagna with its rich, comforting layers—absolutely delicious! The bougatsa dessert was a lovely surprise, perfectly sweet and beautifully presented. Every dish was well-plated, adding to the overall enjoyment. While we weren’t fans of the calamari, which felt a bit chewy and fishy, or the cheese balls, which were surprisingly sweet, we recognize these might be hits for those familiar with Greek flavors. It could just be an acquired taste for us as first-timers. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and we’d recommend The Olive Grove to anyone looking to explore Greek cuisine in a welcoming setting.

Absolutely great service, Seb was amazingly knowledgeable about the wine choices. We tasted 4 before we decided with Sebs help. The food is brilliant, don't eat lunch if your going for dinner. The nibbles and starters just fresh and authentic. Brilliant tzatziti, greek salad and calamari was unbelievable. Kleftico and Moussaka mains were just class. I think the pastry sweet was Galaktoboureko which was lovely, first for us, rolling home now. Amazing feed. Thanks again Seb.

Out for food whilst working away. There were seven of us. We were greeted with smiles, friendlies and professionalism. The food was absolutely fantastic. Served fresh and priced reasonably. I had the pork Gyros and lamb kofta. (I put them on the same plate for the picture.) Will definitely be back.

Had a take away from and here and the chicken is by far the best I’ve had from a Greek restaurant since being in Greece ao thank you :)

I picked this place at random when looking for somewhere to eat for my partners 50th birthday, I liked the look of the pics on the website and wasn't disappointed when we arrived, we were the only ones their but it was a Thursday early evening but was quite nice . First impressions were good , really nice looking restaurants, made me a mojito from scratch , none of that stuff from a can . Food was lovely, I have klefico (lamb shank ) this place did not disappoint, I'd go again and even my 12 year old son like the huge sausage dish. Price is fair , we had a meal each and a couple drinks , came to £93 but was worth it for the food. Can't fault our experience here , but one little tip , I would have liked to have heard some greek music playing but 10/10 from us .

A family birthday treat ! 6.30pm on a Saturday night and the place was already busy ! Service was very efficient with very knowledgable, friendly staff, ready to offer advice on the menu. The food quality and quantity were excellent and we were happily surprised with bill at end. Excellent value for money, will happily return in the future.

I went with a friend on a sunday. Very clean and smart layout, a bit bright initially as the floor tiling is light coloured, but they turned the lights down shortly after we got there. Food was delicious and well presented - I had the lamb and was lovely but I prefer mine well done, whereas they served it medium/well done - I should have asked them to do it well done to start with. I wasn't going to send it back, it was very nice. Was a Sunday evening and were just 4 patrons in the restaurant, so it felt a bit quiet, but Sundays are often quiet in a lot of restaurants.

The server was fantastic and seemed to be providing service to all of the tables whilst everyone else watched. She had dark skin and dark hair but did not catch her name. There was a young lad with 90’s styled curtains and a white T shirt in the kitchen, constantly looking out at diners (there were only 4) and talking about some of their regulars negatively, as well as playing on phones loudly for customers to hear. I heard bad mouthing about customers, swearing and videos on phones. It was clear that the owner was not present and the kitchen was making the most of this. There was a little noise from whoever else was there but I would say it was acceptable, though the young English lad should find himself another job. Been twice in a month following a great first visit but won’t be back as a result.

My wife and I had Lamb fillet, Lamb Tagine and shared a Baklava dessert. The food, service and atmosphere was 10 out of 10. We will definitely be going back to this superb restaurant.

We had a lovely lunch and were served by Freddie who works in the Cambridge restaurant. He couldn't do enough for us, he was polite and attentive. As it was my birthday he arranged for me to have a complimentary baklava.

I visited The Olive Grove with friends for a catch up evening. The atmosphere was perfect for it, it was busy but didn't feel like it as the tables are well set out. We were met by Ava who showed us to our table, and we were served by Josh and Seb who were both great helping us to decide a great selection of dishes for us to share. We arrived at a time when it was pretty busy but all the the staff we professional and attentive throughout. We loved all the food and wine choices, can't wait to go again soon!

I have never eat better that in Olive Grove. Every meal is a masterpiece. Somebody is putting all heart in every plate. If you searching for taste explosion you will not regret. This was our Christmas treat meal with friends and let's be honest... We going to come back. Even from far away.

Food was very good, generous portions. Staff were friendly but a little aloof; we weren't asked if we wanted another drink or desert etc and had to find someone to pay the bill, restaurant wasn't at capacity. Overall very good though and would recommend.

We went to the olive Grove as a family on Friday evening. We had preordered the Christmas menu, which was absolutely delicious. A perfect selection and beautifully cooked. The service and atmosphere were outstanding and we couldn’t have been happier. We will definitely be going back !!!! Thank you

Went for Saturday lunch. Quickly seen to and when we chose a table ,the table was given a spray clean before we were invited to sit . We ordered a lamb tagine and a moussaka with a shared dish of vegetables- delicious. Our waiter explained that the food would be out in 15/20 minutes….would we like to have a starter which we were pleased with - peri peri hummus. But the stand out was the guy who served us- Josh . We found him very polite,friendly and knowledgeable around the menu. Nick and Alice

A lovely place for a light bite when you're shopping in Bury

2nd visit, 1st so good with friends bought son this time. Not as good sadly. Very busy and noisy with large parties dining, making it difficult to hold a conversation- maybe some more soft furnishings to deaden the sound a bit? Staff pleasant enough. Food generally tasty but some issues. Why serve the calamari on a raised dish with tiny surface area - difficult to use knife without food flying off. Lamb fillet main disappointingly overcooked and dry and moussaka, though very tasty, was so wet and sloppy should have been given a spoon - never had a moussaka like it here in the U.K. and definitely not in Greece. Eating at 7.30 and sadly pork chop already sold out! Another issue was the dreadful state of the gents toilet and also the ‘accessible’ one. Need new cleaners or more regular cleaning. Ladies was fine.

What a delightful place to eat! Found by chance on the day in Bury St Edmunds. The frontage was lovely but understated. Beautiful interior, very lush and big enough to hold a big party if needed. We were welcomed with a smile by courteous staff. Shown to a lovely table, set up perfectly. Menu was explained and time given for choices. Food came promptly. Starters were delicious. Apologies for the cheese balls photo showing half eaten but just so good! Gyros with tzatziki bought back so many memories of meals past had. Delicious again. Presentation was amazing. Staff very attentive despite being busy. Would highly recommend and will definitely return.

We had Ava as our waitress and she was nothing short of exceptional, she was very fast with all of our requests and was extremely friendly. The food was great also, I had the chicken thighs and was thoroughly impressed by the remarkable flavours that were delivered. All in all a 10/10 experience!

A nice spot in Bury St Edmunds which we frequented for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. While the food was good, but ambiance and general service were less than desired. Friendly team, but not the most attentive. I think it was probably a system of a Sunday vs other days of the week, but still a shame for a location with a lot of potential.

We was served by Ava who was attentive but not intrusive 👏 We went for three course set menu, with cheese balls to start followed by lamb gyros then a filo pastry dessert all of which were delicious. Having been to Greece many, many times we found the food quite authentic 😋 We will definitely be returning 😄

Stopped in after a long, hot walk into town. It was quiet, but lovely decor, clean and tidy. Friendly staff and fast service. Food was delicious and the sour cherry drink was yummy, as was the blood orange 🍊

I had a fantastic dining experience at The Oliver Grove restaurant. The quality of the food was truly exceptional—fresh and delicious. It's rare to find a place that captures the authentic flavours of Greek cuisine so well. The service was very quick, and every request was promptly attended to. The staff were incredibly friendly, warm, and hospitable. This is definitely a place I will return to. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Greek cuisine!

Sadly, we may have well have torn up £100 for the 2 of us. Calamari starter, like chewing an elastic band. Octopus swamped by the sauce. Lamb dish ruined from 1st, bite when a small ‘twig’ of herb went up between my tooth and gum. Agony. No tooth pick available when asked. Rinsing wouldn’t shift it. Eventually my husband asked for a wooden kebab stick which we split and poked the herb out of my bleeding gum. No help, no apology. Lamb was tough, pitta hard. Dessert ordered was. Sour cherry tartlet with cherry sauce, honeycombe ice cream. What arrived was an apple and cinnamon tart, no ice cream. When questioned, a mumbled reply was ‘this is it? Ice cream did arrive following request but was completely melted. Of 7 of us, nine were very happy with the whole experience.

I never got this food! over an hour and a half it was still being prepared according to the app, so I called the restaurant and they told me the driver had been in, collected and marked for as delivered. no number to call and complain on the app, no response from email yet, the restaurant can't do anything because I ordered through this app. will not be using this app again for anything.

Nice looking restaurant in centre of Bury St Edmunds with reasonable sized portions. I had the calamari to start which tasted quite floury, then lamb fillet for my mains. On the whole the lamb was ok, some bits chewy and gristly, while other bits were tender. I wasn't too impressed to be honest, as with reviews was expecting a lovely lunch, but was disappointed. My partner though loved his mixed grill and the flouriness of the calamari didn't stop him eating the remains of mine.

This has been my favourite restaurant for many years now. However today was the first time that we visited their Bury St Edmond’s restaurant. Whilst the food was good we felt badly let down by the service, one waitress in particular was extremely rude with 0 people skills, no pleasantries, not even a smile! This blonde young lady needs a lesson in customer service if she would like to work in a customer facing environment. I will drive the extra distance to Cambridge going forward.

I booked an 8pm collection on 17th June for an anniversary take away after a period of debating where to get our meal from. I've never been here before, and its safe to say that we.....Will definitely return! The recommendations were worth listening to. The service, from my arrival to the restaurant, to leaving with my meal was welcoming. I was early as parked easier than I anticipated but I was not ignored as I perused the drinks menu to consider what I would have if I were to return, and I was assured my meal would be cooked on time despite there being a large table of people waiting their meals. I left at the time my collection was booked for, and more people were entering as I left. The restaurant had a great ambience and decor. The food was delicious and every mouthful left me wanting more. I love Mediterranean food anyway, but this made me love it even more. We had cheese balls and spankopita to share as starters. I had a peinirli pizza, my wife had a souvlaki, then I had a bougatsa. I would absolutely recommend this restauarant and cannot wait to come back to dine in. This is my new favourite restaurant.

Went here today with my Daughter for Fathers Day. It was our first visit and it will not be the last. Everything 10/10. The welcome, the service, the food and drinks, the atmosphere and Staff. We could not fault it. Thank you to ALL the staff. You are incredible.

Hadn’t been for a while and went as a group of 4 for a birthday meal. Our waiter Dom was so helpful and attentive making it a special evening. Food all arrived together and was a brilliant selection from across the menu. Also mention to our lovely waitress (short dark curly hair). Sorry we didn’t get her name , who was super smiley and helpful. Seems like great team work back and front of house. Lovely ☺️

The food, ambience and service were excellent. The Spanakopita was as good as we have eaten in Greece. The Lamb Tagine was equally delicious. Why is this not a 5* review ? The Risotto Lemonato was delicious but … my wife asked the server for a smaller portion. “No, sorry, the portions are a fixed size.” Consequently, only half was eaten, and the rest was wasted. Now I can see there might be a problem reducing the size of some menu items, but this risotto would be so easy to simply serve as a smaller portion. It is not - for example - a pork chop which cannot be made smaller. … which brings me to the second problem. There is no child / kids menu. I accept this is not often found in Greece, but we are in England and most restaurants offer a child / kids menu. So, what happened here was two partially eaten adult courses, and more wasted food. I nearly gave this a 3* review, but you are saved only by the quality of the dishes and the attentive server. The management and the chef should perhaps reflect on my suggestions.

This place is awesome. The food, the staff and the ambience. Special mention to George, Sebnem and chef Abdul. They were shut after their afternoon course and we walked in late. They were extremely kind to accommodate all of us.. both the staff and chef cancelled their break for us. Really sweet gesture. The Risotto, grilled aubergine and grilled chicken were tastylicious!!

It is a surprisingly large restaurant with a light, bright modern European feel. It is a little noisy when you have big groups of people. Its menu is very much Greek style. Lots of pitta bread, feta cheese and salad with meals but a good variety of food options on offer. The issue we had was that the two starters we picked were too big and really should have been in the main section of the menu. The grilled octopus and the mussels. They were delicious but could have easily been main courses. They were also priced at a level in-between starter and main course price, making them quite expensive for starters. The consequence was that I left the restaurant very full and probably spent more money than we normally do. The Moussaka was delicious and the other dishes I saw looked great. I would definitely go back again.

This is an incredible restaurant serving authentic Greek food some of the best I've had outside of Greece. Brilliant attentive service staff and manager. Food is well seasoned and packed with flavour, generous portions and piping got. We're sure to return and thoroughly recommend it.

The food was fantastic- fresh and well presented and tasted great. Good size helpings. The waiting staff were charming and courteous.

The Olive Branch is very spacious and nicely decorated. Whilst my friend and i only had a salad, it was tasty. The lady who served us was lovely and a very good ambassador for this place.

We went for Mothers Day and cannot fault the whole experience, we had family living in Greece a few years ago and this took us back there, highly recommend having a couple of nibbles to share they were sooo good

Upon entering the restaurant. It is spacious and nicely decorated, the bar being a focal point and stocked up well with a range of drinks. There's also some Greek foods for sale on display shelf. The Dinner was beautiful, the kofta mixed grill and Kleftiko beautifully cooked juicy, nicely seasoned and fell off the bone. The Service was polite and when asked for advice on wines the lady recommended a really nice red fruity Cabernet wine. We would like to return and sample their lunch menu, which also looked appealing.

Great food, the risotto is SO good, just a perfect balance between Sharp and creamy. The starter was great, I could have been sitting in Santorini eating it rather than a wet night in Bury St Edmunds. Lots of choices. Quick friendly service.

Food was amazing. Service was rubbish. Rude waitress. Asked for tap water for the table and she never brought it. Asked again brought it over with no glasses. Asked us if we wanted deserts and never returned to take our order. Then it got to the point where we had to get up and find someone to pay as we’d been waiting so long.

Very pleasant experience, did amuse me how there was half dead bay trees outside, perhaps they believe they're olive trees!

No atmosphere as it’s a big, empty restaurant, staff were young and uninterested, food was tasteless and certainly not evocative of Greece. Baklava dessert was truly dreadful, coffees ordered were forgotten but still on the bill..chefs left through the restaurant as our desserts arrived. Really disappointing, only positive was we were out with dear friends. Won’t be returning and cannot recommend..

Service started well then quickly dwindled. Restaurant was only 1/4 full and it took 30 mins of asking for bill and practically walking out before we could pay. They didn’t offer drinks, we had to ask and wait ages for this. Didn’t offer desert or ask how our meal was until we asked to remove the service charge. Starters were 5 stars. Mains were less flavoursome or covered in rock salt which made some ill. Highly priced. Poor service.

Pretty restaurant but very slow service. When the waitress brought the bill, we asked to pay by card and had to wait 15 minutes for her to get the card machine while the restaurant was barely at half capacity. The food is alright, some dishes lacked flavour.
