I had a fantastic dining experience at The Oliver Grove restaurant. The quality of the food was truly exceptional—fresh and delicious. It's rare to find a place that captures the authentic flavours of Greek cuisine so well. The service was very quick, and every request was promptly attended to. The staff were incredibly friendly, warm, and hospitable. This is definitely a place I will return to. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Greek cuisine!

Sadly, we may have well have torn up £100 for the 2 of us. Calamari starter, like chewing an elastic band. Octopus swamped by the sauce. Lamb dish ruined from 1st, bite when a small ‘twig’ of herb went up between my tooth and gum. Agony. No tooth pick available when asked. Rinsing wouldn’t shift it. Eventually my husband asked for a wooden kebab stick which we split and poked the herb out of my bleeding gum. No help, no apology. Lamb was tough, pitta hard. Dessert ordered was. Sour cherry tartlet with cherry sauce, honeycombe ice cream. What arrived was an apple and cinnamon tart, no ice cream. When questioned, a mumbled reply was ‘this is it? Ice cream did arrive following request but was completely melted. Of 7 of us, nine were very happy with the whole experience.

The platter was just ok, but the cheese ball things were amazing! Really nice place inside.

I never got this food! over an hour and a half it was still being prepared according to the app, so I called the restaurant and they told me the driver had been in, collected and marked for as delivered. no number to call and complain on the app, no response from email yet, the restaurant can't do anything because I ordered through this app. will not be using this app again for anything.

Nice looking restaurant in centre of Bury St Edmunds with reasonable sized portions. I had the calamari to start which tasted quite floury, then lamb fillet for my mains. On the whole the lamb was ok, some bits chewy and gristly, while other bits were tender. I wasn't too impressed to be honest, as with reviews was expecting a lovely lunch, but was disappointed. My partner though loved his mixed grill and the flouriness of the calamari didn't stop him eating the remains of mine.

This has been my favourite restaurant for many years now. However today was the first time that we visited their Bury St Edmond’s restaurant. Whilst the food was good we felt badly let down by the service, one waitress in particular was extremely rude with 0 people skills, no pleasantries, not even a smile! This blonde young lady needs a lesson in customer service if she would like to work in a customer facing environment. I will drive the extra distance to Cambridge going forward.

lovely food, perfect timing, can't complain

I booked an 8pm collection on 17th June for an anniversary take away after a period of debating where to get our meal from. I've never been here before, and its safe to say that we.....Will definitely return! The recommendations were worth listening to. The service, from my arrival to the restaurant, to leaving with my meal was welcoming. I was early as parked easier than I anticipated but I was not ignored as I perused the drinks menu to consider what I would have if I were to return, and I was assured my meal would be cooked on time despite there being a large table of people waiting their meals. I left at the time my collection was booked for, and more people were entering as I left. The restaurant had a great ambience and decor. The food was delicious and every mouthful left me wanting more. I love Mediterranean food anyway, but this made me love it even more. We had cheese balls and spankopita to share as starters. I had a peinirli pizza, my wife had a souvlaki, then I had a bougatsa. I would absolutely recommend this restauarant and cannot wait to come back to dine in. This is my new favourite restaurant.

Went here today with my Daughter for Fathers Day. It was our first visit and it will not be the last. Everything 10/10. The welcome, the service, the food and drinks, the atmosphere and Staff. We could not fault it. Thank you to ALL the staff. You are incredible.

Hadn’t been for a while and went as a group of 4 for a birthday meal. Our waiter Dom was so helpful and attentive making it a special evening. Food all arrived together and was a brilliant selection from across the menu. Also mention to our lovely waitress (short dark curly hair). Sorry we didn’t get her name , who was super smiley and helpful. Seems like great team work back and front of house. Lovely ☺️

The food, ambience and service were excellent. The Spanakopita was as good as we have eaten in Greece. The Lamb Tagine was equally delicious. Why is this not a 5* review ? The Risotto Lemonato was delicious but … my wife asked the server for a smaller portion. “No, sorry, the portions are a fixed size.” Consequently, only half was eaten, and the rest was wasted. Now I can see there might be a problem reducing the size of some menu items, but this risotto would be so easy to simply serve as a smaller portion. It is not - for example - a pork chop which cannot be made smaller. … which brings me to the second problem. There is no child / kids menu. I accept this is not often found in Greece, but we are in England and most restaurants offer a child / kids menu. So, what happened here was two partially eaten adult courses, and more wasted food. I nearly gave this a 3* review, but you are saved only by the quality of the dishes and the attentive server. The management and the chef should perhaps reflect on my suggestions.

Great food especially the starter with mussels in sauce - it is indescribably delicious!!! Very good service from Sebrem: very attentive and pleasant.

Taken by my Granddaughter who lives in BSE - she had had lots of recommendations to try it. The food was amazing and the service excellent. Looking forward to going again.

This place is awesome. The food, the staff and the ambience. Special mention to George, Sebnem and chef Abdul. They were shut after their afternoon course and we walked in late. They were extremely kind to accommodate all of us.. both the staff and chef cancelled their break for us. Really sweet gesture. The Risotto, grilled aubergine and grilled chicken were tastylicious!!

It is a surprisingly large restaurant with a light, bright modern European feel. It is a little noisy when you have big groups of people. Its menu is very much Greek style. Lots of pitta bread, feta cheese and salad with meals but a good variety of food options on offer. The issue we had was that the two starters we picked were too big and really should have been in the main section of the menu. The grilled octopus and the mussels. They were delicious but could have easily been main courses. They were also priced at a level in-between starter and main course price, making them quite expensive for starters. The consequence was that I left the restaurant very full and probably spent more money than we normally do. The Moussaka was delicious and the other dishes I saw looked great. I would definitely go back again.

This is an incredible restaurant serving authentic Greek food some of the best I've had outside of Greece. Brilliant attentive service staff and manager. Food is well seasoned and packed with flavour, generous portions and piping got. We're sure to return and thoroughly recommend it.

The Olive Branch is very spacious and nicely decorated. Whilst my friend and i only had a salad, it was tasty. The lady who served us was lovely and a very good ambassador for this place.

We went for Mothers Day and cannot fault the whole experience, we had family living in Greece a few years ago and this took us back there, highly recommend having a couple of nibbles to share they were sooo good

Upon entering the restaurant. It is spacious and nicely decorated, the bar being a focal point and stocked up well with a range of drinks. There's also some Greek foods for sale on display shelf. The Dinner was beautiful, the kofta mixed grill and Kleftiko beautifully cooked juicy, nicely seasoned and fell off the bone. The Service was polite and when asked for advice on wines the lady recommended a really nice red fruity Cabernet wine. We would like to return and sample their lunch menu, which also looked appealing.

Great food, the risotto is SO good, just a perfect balance between Sharp and creamy. The starter was great, I could have been sitting in Santorini eating it rather than a wet night in Bury St Edmunds. Lots of choices. Quick friendly service.

Food was amazing. Service was rubbish. Rude waitress. Asked for tap water for the table and she never brought it. Asked again brought it over with no glasses. Asked us if we wanted deserts and never returned to take our order. Then it got to the point where we had to get up and find someone to pay as we’d been waiting so long.

Thank you for a lovely evening for my daughters 22nd birthday. Was lovely of you to give her a free desert and put candles in and sing. Really lovely service and food amazing

We had a fabulous meal at the Olive Grove. Service was great, staff very friendly and even had a conversation with the lovely owner Francesca. Food was so good and we cant wait to visit again!

Very pleasant experience, did amuse me how there was half dead bay trees outside, perhaps they believe they're olive trees!

No atmosphere as it’s a big, empty restaurant, staff were young and uninterested, food was tasteless and certainly not evocative of Greece. Baklava dessert was truly dreadful, coffees ordered were forgotten but still on the bill..chefs left through the restaurant as our desserts arrived. Really disappointing, only positive was we were out with dear friends. Won’t be returning and cannot recommend..

Service started well then quickly dwindled. Restaurant was only 1/4 full and it took 30 mins of asking for bill and practically walking out before we could pay. They didn’t offer drinks, we had to ask and wait ages for this. Didn’t offer desert or ask how our meal was until we asked to remove the service charge. Starters were 5 stars. Mains were less flavoursome or covered in rock salt which made some ill. Highly priced. Poor service.

Pretty restaurant but very slow service. When the waitress brought the bill, we asked to pay by card and had to wait 15 minutes for her to get the card machine while the restaurant was barely at half capacity. The food is alright, some dishes lacked flavour.

I had to pick order up as just eat had no drivers, this was after 30mins if waiting (post estimated time) and restaurant said food was already cooked and packed up to go Food was cold as had been sitting for ages Portion small for mixed grill /average quality Didn't give any pitta bread Cheese ball starter was awful Pizza and spinach pie was good. Great little place for fresh eats.

First time to the restaurant went early 6.00pm on a Friday. good starters we had olives dips bread and calamari. The mains 1 risotto 1 pork chop 2 mix grills all very tasty well presented hot and timely. The pudding was average we had the baklava. By the time we got the bill it was very busy so had to ask a couple of times. I would go again I thought for what we had it was good value for money.

The food never turned up. The driver drove to the wrong location and refused to drive 11 minutes to drive to the right location. As a result we did not receive our order. Very unhappy with the service.

Lovely food, a bit late but still warm

We came in on Sunday evening and Dom was the most attentive and hilarious waiter. His British accent was to die for! Very attentive and easy going service. I loved the Saganaki and will be back very soon!

Great place for food and drink. A few gluten and dairy free options

We had an early supper, arriving around 1800. The restaurant had a few dinners in, with plenty of tables available. We decided to sit at the front of the restaurant. The hostess, Lilly, was very welcoming and quickly provided us w menus followed by water. Lilly confirmed our food order, adding that we had chosen well. I had the calamari, the best I had eaten in years, Jake the cheese balls, also very good. For mains I decided on the lamb kofta and Jake the lamb chops, both cooked very well. The pudding list is small but good! We are looking forward to returning, very soon.

Having ordered once previously and being delighted with our food we ordered the same again this evening. Unfortunately, the food was luke warm and took no longer than the previous delivery. Salad was not fresh looking like the previous order. I actually have to put our Souvlaki’s in the microwave. Disappointing and won’t be ordering again.

The starters were nice, the mains were very bland and tasteless. Their kofta dish which is their signature dish was tasteless. The staff were inattentive, we had to ask three times for some water the restaurant was half empty. The meal was very expensive for what it was. Very disappointing we will not be returning.

Very good Greek and Mediterranean food.

Very disappointed to find no greek kalamata olives available, no tomatoes or cucumbers as you may normally have in Greece. Aubergine dish was small for £15.80. I had to ask for more pitta to fill up on. Poor dessert options. Decoration was nice, as was the wine. Card machine went down, we were not told of this until we asked for the bill. Just had enough cash to pay. Luckily we didn't order a dessert or coffee. Staff , kindly, took 2 glasses of wine off the bill. I was a waitress in a Greek restaurant in Bury St. Edmunds for 23 years, so was surprised at the differences of food on offe. It was not what is shown on the advertising boards outside. Sorry, won't visit again.

First visit here. We loved it. Centre of town, but in quieter and more 'villagy' St John's St. Super selection of food for starters, mains etc, some for sharing. Lamb dishes fabulous. Great, relaxed and friendly atmosphere and staff. Thank you!

Need more front of house staff. Came in thirsty and got thirstier. Food is good but expensive so are the drinks 🍷 expensive too. Funny how there is a general change in service to not automatically taking drink orders or enquiring upon being seated. We had to order our food before we arrived as we were a family of 10, for that reason alone I won't be going back again.

Probably the best Greek food we have had. Staff very attentive and Anna was amazing and gave us a good insight to our next holiday in Crete . Will definable be back .

Went here for a lunch. Had Lamb Fillet, very nice, came with salad, wedges, pita and dip. Also Bougatza, warm custard filled Baklava. Nice decor, would like to go again.

What a great find. Really nice setting, style and decor. And delicious food. We're a mix of veggie, vegan and gluten free and we were well catered for and all loved the food, particularly the baked aubergine, risotto and hummus. Lovely staff too. Highly recommended and we'll definitely return next time we're in Bury St Edmunds.

So darn good!! I've been there 3 times, at different times with different people and every time I am greeted with smiles, recommendations, good conversation and warm atmosphere. This place is so good. From the Greek red wine, to the calamari, and the Kotifi lamb. Ahh. I can't get enough. This is a place to take someone you want to impress and not have to spend £100. A must try in Bury!

First visit. Had the lamb tagine which was so tender and fragrant. Was very tasty. The service was excellent, attentive but not overly so. All in all an enjoyable lunch, thank you xxx

Fabulous food in this lovely Restaurant. Very helpful & friendly staff.

On the plus side a lovely looking place, clean and bright, plenty of choice of mains, as well as smaller wraps and pizza’s, all dietary requirements catered for and very tasty, on the minus would be sketchy service, promised a cocktail menu that never came, requested tap water 3 times and cheapest bottle of wine, mostly Greek was £27! Too much for Bury St Edmunds, this isn’t Cambridge!

Never again. The food we wanted wasn't available. Ordered the Spanakopita which was acceptable but could hardly find any spinach or feta in it. Nice pitta and olives which isn't hard, but the hummus was the most tasteless iv ever eaten. Sent it back and was deducted off our bill. Lamb fillet was tough and had some packet salad chopped up on the side with brown edges. Plus a chicken pizza which was weird tasting with a really hard crunchy base. Didnt order a pudding didnt want to waste our money just wanted to leave. Not sure why the owner has obviously spent a fortune on decor etc then allow such poor food to be produced. Can cook better myself at home.

Good mediterranean dishes, cannot go wrong by coming here for a meal.

The food here is the star. Simply exquisite Chicken thighs were the biggest surprise to me ( usually prefer red meat), very tender moist and full of flavour. Kleftiko lamb very tender, delicious flavours. Sharing platter to start also excellent. All food presented superbly as well. Cocktails, and 'cheapest' wine also very good. Only minor criticism is the service, and I hope the owners take this in the right frame of mind as constructive criticism. This consists of very young staff that just bring your food out and don't really know the art of how to "wait" by observation of their diners for physical clues as to what they need and feel. This lets down the premium feel of the dining experience which clearly the restaurant aspires to, something that cannot be achieved by the food alone. They clearly are sixth-formers or recent school leavers who do not want to do this work for a living and want some extra pocket money - that is fair enough, but I did the same 30 years ago, and even as an 18 year old took pride in my work even though I had no intention of staying in that trade. Some tips: - if your diner is still clearly eating, do not ask them if they have finished - convention is to put knife and fork together and sit back - watch the body language - do not ask them how the food is when they have yet to eat even one bite - and preferably then wait at least 5 to 10 minutes - do offer tap water given there were plenty of glasses out for this, and definitely bring it when asked for (we had to twice). - spend more time talking and looking at the diners rather than the other staff - in that way you can see when they are needing another drink (as their glass is empty), or trying to gain your attention e.g. to get the bill - they should not have to shout out/wave to you - do offer dessert 5 minutes or so after taking away the finished mains if they have not asked for the bill yet - this was not offered to us, which we would have said no to anyway, but it's within the principle of waiting tables. Some schooling in waiting tables is required here to bring the service up to deserving the service charge that is of course is added to the bill without asking. I would prefer my £11-odd service charge to be given to charity.

I ordered the Lamb Gyros and Cheese balls via Deliveroo. Both items arrived cold and were inedible. An all round disappointing experience, especially considering this is the first time I have ordered from this restaurant.

Was really looking to trying the olive grove. But I don't think I will hurry back. The food was good but the place was too noisy for me ,we were a four and had to nearly shout across the table to be heard.

Mixed grill had especially tender lamb. Delicious: thank you.

Delivery was about 30min later than the app originally estimated. I wouldn't usually be too bothered by an extra wait, but the (really delicious) food was cold on delivery.

Excellent, last minute no kids meal out, booked online. Easy parking. Fantastic staff and excellent food. Cannot recommend the mixed grill enough.

Had wanted to eat in for a while, having had a good experience with take away, I took my dad and his partner for dinner . Well , not sure If it was because they were busy or just incompetent, but it took a long time to be asked if we wanted drinks. Then the drinks took ages to turn up. Starter share platter was for two people , even though they could clearly see there was three of us. The chicken in the mixed grill came out undercooked / raw . I highlighted this to the manager , who was very apologetic. Other than that it was a nice experience. But with the amount and variety of restaurants in Bury st edmunds, not sure if I'd go back to be honest. Olive Grove you need to liven up your front of house team. Having been given the meal on the house , we couldn't even give a tip as the service was shocking.

A welcoming restaurant, nice ambience and lovely staff. There were six of us, we all had pleasant enough starters then we all ordered the lamb fillet from the grill. Unfortunately the meat, although plentiful, was far too overdone and considering what you're paying a great disappointment. Everyone on the table felt the same way. I mentioned this to the waiting staff and they deducted a couple of drinks from the bill. Personally I won't be rushing back!
