The best restaurants in South Norfolk East of England

Having been Brasted’s devotees, this was our first visit to the restaurant at Caistor Hall and it was excellent. The whole building has been refurbished and now looks modern and welcoming. The room housing the restaurant under previous ownership was cold and underwhelming but is now a fine place to eat The menu essentially is the Brasted’s three course fine dining restaurant with good choices, good portion sizes and exceedingly well cooked. Many aspects set Brasted’s apart but one of them is the professionalism of the waiters and waitresses. Very well trained and very much appreciated. Would that other establishments aiming to operate in the fine dining arena got this important aspect right Nice to have comfortable lounges for a pre dinner drink and very nice to know that Caistor Hall is being well run and fulfilling its potential - we look forward to the result of the new extension works. Strongly recommended - best place to go

Well we can’t review the breakfast as we were literally 1 minute late and were told breakfast had finished !!! Gentleman was quite rude to be honest telling us that we had missed it and they were now onto lunch menu. Honestly 1 minute over ! So they missed out on our custom and we went elsewhere. Won’t be back

It's January, it's freezing outside but come inside Costa it's even colder!!!! Would you believe they have still git the air conditioning on!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice reception in friendly pub. Good range of beers. Short menu but enough choice. outside apace available.

Very disappointing. Have guests staying from Europe who were very excited to have fish and chips. What a let down, large chips small, regular kids portion. Anaemic chips and bitty. Quite frankly felt embarrassed. Large chips £4.20!! Same size as regular. Will avoid in future.

Amazingly good....not one complaint...I ordered chicken breast curry,chicken chow mein,egg fried rice and sweet and sour chicken balls,i ordered online and collection was ready in 20 minutes,after a fifteen minute drive home the food was still nice and hot,the chef gets a nice big thankyou from us tonight,the chicken in the curry was so soft and tender as was the chicken in the chow mein and the balls,all of the meal was very tasty and perfectly seasoned,curry was packed with chicken breast....perfect chinese is very hard to find recently but this time happy buddah got it spot on.

This is our local McDonald’s we only use it once a month if that but every time we go through the drive through and order a large meal this is how they come, the last time we checked while at the window and asked to get a full portion the woman actually threw them in to the bin rolled her eyes and walked off without saying anything before returning with two full ones, what was stopping them just doing that the first time? Avoid

Eye shop. Purchased 4 pack of scones yesterday, so salty, taste dreadful. Unlikely to be in the vicinity or would return them. Mouth & lips burning after eating

I regularly use the cafe and find the service exceptional. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the food and drinks are excellent. The atmosphere is good and the seating is comfortable and there is plenty of room - very spacious. I have never had a bad experience there and I can highly recommend it

Great takeaway food. Ordered, went for a pint and it was ready. Very tasty and prawn crackers thrown in. Gets a yes from me.

Not good very disappointed £ 23 for rubbish ribs very small amount of chicken and some sort of undercooked potatoes

Just, bad. Not what it used to be with crazy prices, best to simply avoid temptation. Dry, mostly drumsticks chicken, half-filled gravy pot, tiny fries portion, all lukewarm. It's not all bad - the Pepsi Max can was definitely Pepsi Max. Last order from me.

Today was my birthday my husband and I had a lovely meal the staff are so so good . The food was delicious. Such a lovely atmosphere fire was burning so so cosy. We have been here before never let down
