A lovely place to stop off for a filling bite to eat, with a large assortment of sweet and savory dishes and snacks on the menu. Friendly staff that don't 'overdo it', whilst ensuring a relaxed and attentive service. May be more pricey when ordering for groups of people, but individually it is worth the money. The selection of food we bought was recieved positively, cooked well to order with large and ample amounts, which recieved strains of 'oohs' and 'aahs' of satisfaction, especially towards crispy, flavoursome Scampi, and vinegar-coated, chunky chips. Very pleased with service, food, and cafe layout itself. Only issue is towards prices of drinks, but that can't be helped much due to inflation. All round good experience, leaving us full until the afternoon.

Refuse to ever to go here again twice we've been and twice we had to deal with the mosr rudest member of staff a German woman who twice have made us feel so unwelcome and that we shouldn't be there I since found out staff left because of her not surprised she blatantly moaned about previous customers who had gone to sit.down before us and disnt care that the queue heard very very unprofessional and when staff commented she just shrugged her shoulders at them the food was cold beans etc and my bacon was practically raw Will never go back there again luckily the garden centre is really great and the staff are very helpful and friendly

I don't even know where to start here but the service and food was appalling. While ordering the food at the til, staff seemed rude and inpatient! Not just with me, but with others infront also! Certain items were not available on the menu, which was also disappointing, but based on the food served, probably for the best. I ordered a sausage and onion quiche, with salad and coleslaw. When it arrived I didn't even know what was on my plate. It was no quiche! I couldn't even cut it with a knife, the sausage and pastry was one large solid mess! Rock hard and practicable uncheweable. It didn't even look like sausage! The salad was minimal to the point of why did they even bother, the coleslaw was warm, like it had been sitting out for a while. The two other people I was with didn't get so bad food, a mediocre prawn sandwich and a jacket potato with coleslaw and cheese (although couldn't actually see the cheese). Oh yeah and the glass for my drink has lipstick and lip marks all over it. When I complained there was very little care or concern for any of it! Shocking service and shocking food! We will not be returning again. Basically overpriced garbage. I'd rather rifle through my own bins for scraps, on a hot summers day. I'd not recommend dining here!

...but no more. We have been on a few occasions as it's near to family, and honestly, it's not worth going. And today's visit will be our last. For a start, they should stop advertising full English breakfasts as they regularly don't have bacon! And stop telling people about the lack of bacon only after they've ordered and paid. The mochas were half foam which probably should have been a sign of what was to come. We were told we'd have extra sausages instead of the bacon but you only get 1 sausage in lieu of 2 bacon, and one of our party didn't get any sausages at all! This was probably a benefit for them as the cheap looking sausages were luke warm at best. So was the rest of the food on all of our plates... As cold food and dried up beans and eggs is not our idea of value for money, we got a refund and left to seek better breakfasts elsewhere. It will come as no surprise that the refund was given only reluctantly and management/cook couldn't have cared less about the quality of the food

Pre COVID. We have visited many times including ordering full breakfasts and lunches. The full breakfast is tops. I saw breakfast baguettes and they looked good too. All freshly cooked. For lunch we have had gammon, egg, chips and salad as well as shepherds pie. All delightful. The omelettes and filled jackets looked great. Not that I check out other people’s dishes !!! The seating area is large, accommodating in both booths or tables. My only advisory comment is don’t go there if in a rush. The service is rather slow as all is cooked to order. The process is to find a table and then go to the servery with your table number to place the order. Drinks including soft and ground coffees teas etc are served to you to take back to your table. The rest is delivered to you. There is also free water in jugs on the side table. This is a little gem nestling in the corner of Cherry Lane garden centre. Toilet facilities also available with a kiddie area for young family eating

Number of issues here- Staff seemed very disinterested more worried about getting us done and out the way. Cups were dirty, cutlery wasn’t much better. Sausage roll not heated up. Was dry, poor quality. Quiche lunch also not heated up, asked for no coleslaw, still got coleslaw. Chicken wrap was processed and cold, again plenty of red onion as with everything else. Chips were basic. Cheese microwaved. Came to £36 for the 4 of us, about £6 a meal but would’ve been better of going to McDonald’s for less. Coffee was tasteless. Sad because it’s a lovely garden centre but cafe was a let down. Edible but nothing special. There was 6 staff not really doing anything in the kitchen so these basic things like heating food up had no excuse really. No dressing on salad etc. Won’t be coming back sadly.

My son and his grandfather visited cherry Lane last night for a quick milkshake before Beavers. My son this morning was sick five times and kept waking up through the night suffering from tummy aches. I’m really shocked my son was so ill this is the first time he’s been ill in years. My son is use to slugs and snails and puppy dogs tails so this came to a surprise to me it’s why he’s never ill. My father is convinced it’s the milkshake being at the end of the day. I’m going to report to environmental health on Monday I’m just so glad he never ate anything!

I stopped here on route hoping things had improved since my last visit about 6 years ago. I ordered an Americana Coffee and the leek and potato soup which was shown on the specials board. I thought days of extremely weak tasteless coffee had virtually disappeared in this area but not so in this cafe. The soup was far from "special" and was obviously from a tin - it had that nasty chemical taste and the little pieces of potato were identical and tasteless. How difficult is it to make soup? !!!! The only reasonable thing was the bread and butter which came with it. Saying this the staff were pleasant and they had tried with the decorations in the cafe and the toilets were okay. There were a lot of people there so perhaps I had been unlucky in my choice but I will not be going back quickly.

After a wander around the garden centre including the brilliant Xmas display we popped into the Plantation for a late lunch. There was a lot to choose from in the menu, I queued up and placed our order which was quickly taken. We did not have to wait very long for our food, I had vegetable lasagne with garlic bread and my husband had the buttered chicken burger with chips. We both really enjoyed our meals, my lasagne was very tasty. The portion size was also very decent. We would definitely eat here again.

Called in here en-route back from Norwich, because of previous good experiences. Disppointed with this visit. They did not have enough people serving they want you to select a table first now, which is difficult if you are on your own, the cutlery kept running out and the salt pots were empty. There was a long queue and had it not bee pouring down with rain I may have gone elsewhere. Completely finished my tea before the meal came. Everyone was pleasent but they are obviously not in control!

Good menu and food freshly prepared and served hot. Usually a long queue to order. Tables have numbers on them which have to be given when ordering food. This can be difficult if you are a single diner. Not wishing to leave anything unattended on a table the number you give may have been taken by someone else by the time you reach the end of the queue. Tables do need to be cleared and cleaned more quickly.

Been going here for 3 years - never had bad service, prices better than the competition, good selection of plentiful and tasty food, and the place is getting more and more popular. The garden centre itself has unbelievable bargains, especially at Christmas. I always plan to eat here when I visit, and have never been disappointed, unlike a lot of overpriced garden centre restaurants within 20 miles ( Wymondham Garden Centre excepted ), which I feel are a ripoff. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ! ( and I like my food ! )

The milkshake was room temperature as the milk had been sat out on the side, and hardly any strawberry flavour. The vanilla slice was hard as a rock and hardly any cream. The chocolate cake was also hard as a rock, had no taste of chocolate but instead tasted completely of margarine! We suspect that the cakes were a day old. Visited The Plantation with my husband today at Pulham Market. Decided we’d have a hot meal for lunch. It was 1pm. Husband went for the Cottage Pie. Lasagne for me. Husband went to the counter to order. Came back to tell me they were sold out of Cottage Pie (already?!!!!). Husband didn’t want anything else hot off the menu so we decided to have a silverside roast beef & horseradish sandwich instead. Husband went to order. Came back. They have no beef. Disheartened by now & time was getting on. Surely we can’t go wrong with just a scone?!!! Cheese for me, fruit for husband. No cheese scones. Only two fruit scones left. We managed to get them!!! Yay!!! Very nice scones but not our first or second choice!!! At 1pm I would expect to still be able to get a specific meal from the specials board, especially as it wasn’t busy, plenty of free tables. I would also expect them to have all sandwich fillings on the menu......or is that just me?!!!! Disappointed.

It was the first time we stopped and visited The Plantation, having passed it many times whilst travelling to Norwich. Our friends had previously attended and spoke well of it.The experience was not great, firstly long queues to order food, only one person on the counter taking hot meal orders and making drinks. We had to wait 45 minutes for our meals to appear. We ordered fish and chips but they had ran out of fish so had to order something else. The meal was nothing special, and was about average. We have had better meals at other Garden Centres. The rea was clean and tidy, but I sdid find the decor rather dark and uninviting. The ladies toilet needed more regular inspection; my wife picked up two empty cardboard rolls off the floor and replaced two more which had run out. The Garden Centre was more like a supermarket indoors with plants outdoors. Overall rather disappointing, at least now have made one visit and probably will not stop again.

We were looking for a pub of some sort however came across The Plantation and thought we'd give it a try.We ordered a tea, coffee, a sandwich and a panini. The food was edible but nothing to write home about. They do need to improve the quality of the food. It really wasn't great. The only other word we could use to describe the Cafe is filthy! We do not have high expectations however the floor was in need of a clean and the toilets were disgusting! The ladies toilets had paper and water everywhere along with a lovely brown mark along the wall, I only hope it wasn't what it looked like! There was no tea spoons and the tea pot leaked however the tea itself together with the coffee and service were both all fine. If we were in that neck of the woods again we would carry on driving until we found an alternative and certainly wouldn't return in a hurry.

Just returned from having lunch at the Plantation Café. My mother had ham, egg and chips, I had cheese and tomato quiche with salad. The eggs were cold, probably left over from the breakfast menu, chips were warm and the ham was tough. The quiche was the size of a child's portion and the salad dry. A potato salad came with the quiche. I say potato salad, wasn't sure because the potatoes were drowning in mayo. Why does everyone think we all like mayo? Why not just potatoes and a separate serving of mayo if desired. No point complaining to the waitress or cook, any comment would be completely ignored. A complete waste of money. Weekdays are far better then weekends. Maybe because of a different cook.We however will never eat there again at weekends.

It was served on a small plate, 10" one", and half of it was salad, mostly leaves with half a cherry tomato, and a little cubed cucumber and pepper. Just 6 pieces of scampi, and a small amount of french fries completed the meal. I do like salad, but I ordered scampi and chips, the salad was half the plate, certainly not a garnish. My wife loves their cheese scones but unfortunately we were always too early for them to be ready! We'd noticed vast improvements to the decor, seating etc but would still not have classed it as anything special.Today however they had the delicious cheese scones on show and the breakfast was the best I have ever had there. All was nice and hot and all of the elements were very tasty. All staff were very clean and uniformed. As suggested by the previous reviewer it has been transformed and the prices are still reasonable. One criticism however; the cheese scone were on display uncovered and for self service which is a breach of Environmental Health Rules - hopefully this will be resolved by the time we visit again!

Visited yesterday lunchtime (Whitsun Bank Holiday Monday) - the garden centre was brimming with visitors and the café was busy. It was midday so we decided to have lunch at the café before doing some shopping. Two of us had the vegetarian (Quorn) lasagne and one person had a jacket potato. All three meals were excellent and good sized portions. I was particularly impressed with the vegetarian lasagne - it tasted delicious, just like a good homemade meal, there was plenty of Quorn filling (not all pasta and tomato sauce like a lot of vegetarian offerings) and a nice accompaniment of garlic bread and a well presented crunchy side salad. The jacket potato was good size, well cooked and with plenty of tasty filling, and this again was served with a very good side salad with a light dressing. The cakes at the counter looked very tempting but we were too full at the time, so decided to do our shopping and, hopefully, work up an appetite so we could go back for tea and cake a bit later! Which we did! The cakes definitely didn't disappoint - they were delicious! Carrot cake which was deliciously moist, a very lemony lemon sponge and a slice of apple streudel which was oozing with fruit - all accompanied by a very satisfying mug of tea. We really couldn't fault the food - and for the price, it was exceptionally good value. Our only complaint (and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5) was that although there were menus on the tables inside the cafe, there were none on the tables outside on the terrace (which is where we sat). We expected there to be some available where we queued to order, but there were none (except right next to the till, by which time it was too late!). This made it difficult to choose what to order - there was a menu displayed on a big chalk board behind the counter, but this did not show the full range available. It was all a bit confusing! I suggest a clearly displayed menu (maybe on the wall opposite the counter) so it is more obvious to customers what food is available. I really hope they maintain the quality of the food here, as I will definitely be going back! Well done!!

I came here with my parents, husband and teenage son. We visited on Easter Monday and as you might expect it was fairly busy, but we didn't have to wait too long.My husband and son had a homemade burger with chips and salad. The chips were nice and golden and they enjoyed their meals. My Mum had quiche and vegetables and my Dad had a cooked breakfast, which they both liked. I had the quorn lasagne which was delicious. The staff were polite and it is nicely decorated and looks fresh and modern. Will definitely go back sometime.

The Cafe at the Cherry Lane Garden Centre at Pulham Market never did seem very busy or they were about to shut and wanted you out at about 3.30 pm but now it had been transformed to a much more welcoming environment; hence it was full when we visited it at the week end. We went for cream tea for two which was delightfully presented on a small black china tray with small pots of cream and jam. The seating is much more comfortable including booths and long padded benches. The menu is much more varied and includes a roast sunday lunch! The staff all seemed much more friendly than before too. In fact the whole Cherry Lane site at Pulham had been refurbished and looks a lot more inviting.

Absolutely fantastic 8 course tasting menu! Everything was delicious and well executed. Nick was great, he looked after us all night. It was lovely to see the chefs coming out with the food to explain the dishes. Would highly recommend well done

If you want burgers, pie, pizza, fish&chips also on our table location - on a busy food/pedestrian pass- plus a classy constant ‘C bomb’ dropping female barfly atmos - then this the place for you! Used to be great - what the heck has gone wrong? No specials, no drinks service, no enquiry as to if everything was ok (maybe too embarrassed to ask!). Great family (away from the classy barfly) ‘cafe/burger joint - but not a couples restaurant - maybe a commercial choice but not for us sadly anymore.

What a lovely manager. It was close to shutting as I pulled in to sort out my baby from crying on my way home to Essex. The manager even though closed invited me and my baby in so I could feed him and offered me tea. Thanks to her I had a happy baby who slept the rest of the hour journey home. That kindness I will never forget and now we plan to go in every time we make the journey now to see the parents. 10000/10

We had a very pleasant meal even though the service was very slow, staff were polite. Very nice atmosphere even though there was a very loud man in the bar. I asked a man who I assume was the manager that there was no soap in the ladies toilet he said he would deal with it but when I was leaving both soap dispensers were still empty so I had to use the disabled toilet. A mocca was ordered and we were charged for a Hot Chocolate and an Americano which came to £5.50, if we had known it would be this price we would not have ordered it, we queried it and were told we should have looked at the menu, there was no Mocca mentioned so we should have been informed.
