Showground Table Table in South Norfolk

Came in for breakfast yesterday, served by nice staff when I came in, food was good and fair price, been before and I will return

Went to the showground the other day for the first time in a while and I’m gutted to write I was extremely disappointed with the food. They did say they were having trouble sourcing food but seriously I think it would of been better to close the kitchen or offer a discount I had vegan burger that wasn’t even big enough for a lunch menu let alone paying full price.

Had a lovely night with my work mate!! Had a gorgeous festive meal and our server, Zane, was brilliant!!

We arrived to an all most empty pub, asked if we booked, which we hadn’t the were asked to wait for 15 mins for a table. The place wasn’t almost empty, only reason I can see was, to prevent us ordering from the cheaper menu section of before 6pm. We were given a table in the side annex part, which was extremely cold, again as it was empty, not sure why we weren’t seated in the main pub, where it was warmer. The table was extremely sticky and clothes caught in it, we asked for the table to be clean, which is was to some extent, but not properly as was just as sticky after. Food took a long time to arrive, which as more less empty was surprising. After deciding not to have deserts, we weren’t asked if we needed more drinks or coffees. While the staff were pleasant enough, service could have been more efficient. The food was ok, but somethings they run out of. The place looks run down and old, especially doors and some of the paint. The hand dryers in the toilets don’t work properly and have enough power in them to effectively dry your hands. It needs a good clean and tidy up, and the toilets sorting out. Why make people wait 15 mins for a table in a nearly empty pub?

Currently sat at a table waiting for food after a 75 minute wait for 3 burgers and 2 bits of chicken. Shortage of staff apparently, but it was empty when we arrived.

We regularly come to the Showground for breakfast as it’s such great value for money. Great service too and quick to get your breakfast. Also so much to choose from. We will continue to come here.

Visited last Wednesday night with friends, very impressed with the food and also the service. We will definitely be returning. Thank you :)

I had the Haddock and chips, well the menu says chips but I got fries. FRIES AND CHIPS ARE NOT THE SAME THING. The Haddock was really nice and a good size the non chips (fries) was tiny barely a mouthful. You get more fries in a Macdonalds happy meal. Every meal with fries was the same. You need to realise you're just a pub and are not a Michelin restaurant and normal people want proper adult sized portions especially considering the price. I would not choose to go there again (not my choice this time. I had to go to a takeaway after I left as I was still hungry. Poor very poor.

Everything was excellent, Zane was very helpful and polite and deserved the 5 stars himself for his customer service

Easy to find and park. Lots of tables and space. Food is simple and hot, service is friendly and informative about the menu

The food took nearly 40 minutes to arrive in an low occupancy restaurant. Not the best service as it was hard to get anyone's attention and the extremely overcooked tiny jacket potato with a stick of butter was extortionate! The childs menu isnt good either. Such a shame as I heard it was a good place to eat. £80 worth of disappointment 😞

The Christmas menu is excellent value and the service was warm and friendly, highly recommend

We had a very pleasant meal even though the service was very slow, staff were polite. Very nice atmosphere even though there was a very loud man in the bar. I asked a man who I assume was the manager that there was no soap in the ladies toilet he said he would deal with it but when I was leaving both soap dispensers were still empty so I had to use the disabled toilet. A mocca was ordered and we were charged for a Hot Chocolate and an Americano which came to £5.50, if we had known it would be this price we would not have ordered it, we queried it and were told we should have looked at the menu, there was no Mocca mentioned so we should have been informed.

Went for lunch in a family group of 4. Had the off-peak offer. Notwithstanding this, the portion sizes really good and the quality excellent. Great service by Julie A. Will definitely be returning soon. Thank you.

Service was excellent as was the food. Only thought the decor maybe needed a bit of updating.

Was OK. When asking about cook breakfast, there is no buffet, and the items came looks so poor and so little. The presentation was not as good as other places similar to the level

We had a lovely breakfast and we're served by a an attentive lady called Sarah-Jayne. Nothing was too much trouble. It was a great experience.

Ideal if you're visiting the showground (opposite), it has a Premier Inn attached. Food is OK and when we last visited it was very busy so the service was very slow. As I said it's OK but the decor is very tired and the whole site could seriously do with a refurb.

Great all you can eat breakfast offering continental, cereals, cooked breakfast and a large selection of drinks. Service can be a little slow but you have plenty of time to help yourself to the continental stuff so it’s not too bad. Plus up to two children eat free with a paying adult so what’s not to love

Leanne always gives great service, friendly, happy and fast service, great food, always our go to if we fancy eating out locally!

Terrible experience, to be avoided at all costs. Hotel guest arrived before 7.30 pm, not pre-booked, car park was half empty, tables were half empty, asked at the bar for a table for six, and astonished to hear they could not cope with a table for six, disgusting, lame excuse that tables were booked, clearly a lie and staff wanting to finish early. Absolute disgrace, drove 5 minutes away to copperbeach where we were welcomed, a busier restaurant and happy to accept quests after 7.30. A long while since I've been treated like this and will not be forgotten.

Meal was great tonight.we all enjoyed it.

Recently visited the showground for dinner with my family. As always the food was lovely and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our waitress poppy was amazing she really looked after us the whole time we were there making sure we had everything we needed.

Recently visited The Showground for the unlimited breakfast. Lots of choice and the cooked breakfast was delicious. I couldn’t fault the service we received. Thank you to Sarah-Jayne for looking after us. We will definitely visit again.

Food OK,service was absolutely great. Place let down by sticky floors and really soft varnish on tables,looking at outside there is need of maitence on property which leaves you thinking 🤔

For us Declan the bar man made this a perfect evening after each of the busy 5 days at the showground. He is a perfect example of how to welcome guests and make them feel at home. What an example of genuine professional customer care.

Came in for a family meal. Fab service, staff welcoming. The young manager was very accommodating.

Good if you want unhealthy food, I didn't, I went with my mother so the only option was a basic salad and pay extra for a small piece of chicken or beef. Food was okay and cooked as asked for. I won't go again because there wasn't enough healthy options. But saying that if you like chips and burgers etc this might be okay for you.

Most of the food was served cold. What arrived was not as advertised or as ordered. Vegetables were ordered but not initially served. When they eventually arrived they were still frozen! Exceptionally small portions (6 Chips) and utterly shocking. The staff were friendly enough but knew how bad things were and how bad the food was. Do not even contemplate visiting this place under any circumstances. It is the worst restaurant I have ever had the misfortune of visiting.

Was ok. Ok food, felt like food had been sat round for a little while but was warm and edible. Not the best but by no means deffinatly not the worst. Service was really good though.

The venue was very pleasant for our evening meal and couldn't fault anything. It was quieter than usual but we enjoyed that fact. We were asked if we had a booking and affected by any allergies before being taken to our table. Leanne took care of our orders and was extremely helpful and polite to make for a relaxing time while we were there. She resolved a small issue with one dish and was caring towards our needs. Clean and well laid out areas. Other members of staff we came into contact with were also pleasant and helpful. Great evening.

Been here a few times. The staff are great, the food is usual chain food but done to a good standard. The furniture etc is all well used. I will return though.

Regular breakfast meet up with ten of us this time. £10.99 all you can eat bfast with table service. Helpful staff. Only one coffee machine!! Wot is it with these places?? Endless queuing for a cuppa is not what anyone wants for a relaxing breakfast - hence three stars. Otherwise it's ok.

Buffet breakfast Saturday morning was average. Bit of a pain as you have to order your hot food but you can help yourself from the continental stuff. The building itself self is in a real state of needing repairs or just some paint. The car parks hedges are so overgrown too! A bit of care would make it more appealing to the eye. Staff were polite and welcoming.

Not bad food, and staff good, but as other reviews suggest in desperate need of a revamp. Carpet was really sticky and worn out, tables sticky, walls covered in years of food stains. It just needs a good paint and some new flooring and it would be 1000 times better.

Modern clean restaurant and bar. Service was friendly but not very quick. OK, for a relaxing meal, but not if you are on the clock. The latest menu appears even more restricted, and prices have increased. There is a cheap deal for 2 meals, which looks good value. See the back page of the menu booklet for details. We were disappointed by the Sunday roast; however, our waitress was very good and resolved the issue. The very limited menu and high prices mean I would only recommend using this restaurant on work days when the meal deals are available.

Cauliflower starter was quite gross, fish was soooo dry and the chips were mediocre. Staff were friendly and that’s about it.

Three to eat...Ordered lime and soda drinks x 2.. Very little lime so had to take back to the bar. Ordered one starter which came out with the main. I ordered haddock and chips and mushy peas... The fish was terrible and the mushy peas were the worse I have ever had... ever.

We ate here on a Saturday evening and again for breakfast on the Sunday morning. Whist our food was okay on the Saturday. It was lookwarm and not particularly amazing. But the breakfast on the Sunday was an absolute shambles. We sat down and waited 35 minutes for someone to take our cooked food order. We spoke to a staff member politley twice and told to wait our turn. However they has forgotten us. Ended up just having toast as we did not have time to wait longer. Will not be back.

The food was very poor (think really badly done Wetherspoons dishes) and the decor was old and tired, with the chairs seemingly wobbly and gradually falling apart, everything else looked a bit like it needed replacement about ten years ago. That said the staff were broadly friendly to customers, although a staff meeting was seemingly going on in a closed off bit of the restaurant at the time - morale did not seem high!
