Showground Table Table in South Norfolk

We had a meal out on Saturday 15th March for tea and I had a smothered platter on that evening I got food poisoning very sick and diarrhoea for about 8 hours it has taken most of this week to get over it

Changing bookings last minute was no issue for Steph in the restaurant. Nice food as always.

Food was tasty and arrived promptly, although it would be nice if there were more vegetarian options. The kitchen were considerate about the allergies we had and provided a menu clearly showing allergens without us having to ask. Leanne (our server) was friendly and helpful at all times and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall we had a very easy and tasty dinner after a tiring day.

Tasty food, amazing at £5 for the meals on the back of the menu during the week, lovely friendly staff, Leanne always gives great service with a smile :)

I bring my friend in every week and we always get served by Sarah jayne who is always very helpful and very kind. We enjoy the £5 daytime menu

Been coming to the Showground for a while now and I must say the service is always great and friendly especially the manager Georgia she’s always friendly and welcoming. The new dart board is also a great addition.

Lunch deal is great. Only £5 for a meal which is great and thanks to Georgia for the service. I noticed the dart board in the bar too which is a good night with friends

We arrived here for lunch on a Friday, booked in advance. On arrival pleasant waitress showed us to a table. Music blaring so we moved to another. Seats worn faded cushions and sticky table. After about 10 minutes another waitress took our drinks order, then we asked any chance of fish and chips? To which she replied in a very loud voice NO FISH No apology nor alternative

Good standard place to eat just okay. Prices are good from the set menu. Dose the job.

Great service, relaxed atmosphere, lovely simple food food, even better now the meals on the back of the menu ( during weekdays before 6pm) are only£5!

Spent nearly £80 today as it was my birthday the beef burger meals for my two teenage grandchildren were absolutely dreadful for £14 the portions were just as small as the children’s meals with the addition of one spoonful of coleslaw and ten chip absolutely disgusting

Food & table service was good. However we were over charged & even though we said about it whilst there they were not able to refund on same day. Had to phone & go in the next day to sort it out. It then took over a week to get refund back on payment card.

We made a reservation for a table and were seated, but no one came to take our order for over 20 minutes. Every table around us was being served except ours. We left feeling frustrated.

Been here a few times. The staff are great, the food is usual chain food but done to a good standard. The furniture etc is all well used. I will return though.

Four of us went for a meal for my birthday, my husband and our friend sat by a window and were freezing cold the whole time, great amount of draught blowing through the window. That spoiled the evening. My meal was ok, tasty but not a great deal on the plate. Our waitress was lovely and friendly. Have to say we won't be hurrying back

Went there last night at 16.55pm to have a meal and was told that no roast dinners as I have health issue and there was no alternative for myself. My wife had scampi and chips and pea cost £14.99 not very warm and it was more like a child's portion. Spoke to the manage and came back with attitude and didn't give a damn. All cooked by chef mike ( Microwave)

A group of 8 of us went here for our annual Xmas dinner. The service was amazing, couldn't have asked for a better waitress. The food was just average and not hot. They ran out of sprouts!!! Might be better out of xmas season when not so busy.

Went to the showground the other day for the first time in a while and I’m gutted to write I was extremely disappointed with the food. They did say they were having trouble sourcing food but seriously I think it would of been better to close the kitchen or offer a discount I had vegan burger that wasn’t even big enough for a lunch menu let alone paying full price.

Had a lovely night with my work mate!! Had a gorgeous festive meal and our server, Zane, was brilliant!!

We arrived to an all most empty pub, asked if we booked, which we hadn’t the were asked to wait for 15 mins for a table. The place wasn’t almost empty, only reason I can see was, to prevent us ordering from the cheaper menu section of before 6pm. We were given a table in the side annex part, which was extremely cold, again as it was empty, not sure why we weren’t seated in the main pub, where it was warmer. The table was extremely sticky and clothes caught in it, we asked for the table to be clean, which is was to some extent, but not properly as was just as sticky after. Food took a long time to arrive, which as more less empty was surprising. After deciding not to have deserts, we weren’t asked if we needed more drinks or coffees. While the staff were pleasant enough, service could have been more efficient. The food was ok, but somethings they run out of. The place looks run down and old, especially doors and some of the paint. The hand dryers in the toilets don’t work properly and have enough power in them to effectively dry your hands. It needs a good clean and tidy up, and the toilets sorting out. Why make people wait 15 mins for a table in a nearly empty pub?

Currently sat at a table waiting for food after a 75 minute wait for 3 burgers and 2 bits of chicken. Shortage of staff apparently, but it was empty when we arrived.

We regularly come to the Showground for breakfast as it’s such great value for money. Great service too and quick to get your breakfast. Also so much to choose from. We will continue to come here.

I had the Haddock and chips, well the menu says chips but I got fries. FRIES AND CHIPS ARE NOT THE SAME THING. The Haddock was really nice and a good size the non chips (fries) was tiny barely a mouthful. You get more fries in a Macdonalds happy meal. Every meal with fries was the same. You need to realise you're just a pub and are not a Michelin restaurant and normal people want proper adult sized portions especially considering the price. I would not choose to go there again (not my choice this time. I had to go to a takeaway after I left as I was still hungry. Poor very poor.

Easy to find and park. Lots of tables and space. Food is simple and hot, service is friendly and informative about the menu

The food took nearly 40 minutes to arrive in an low occupancy restaurant. Not the best service as it was hard to get anyone's attention and the extremely overcooked tiny jacket potato with a stick of butter was extortionate! The childs menu isnt good either. Such a shame as I heard it was a good place to eat. £80 worth of disappointment 😞

We had a very pleasant meal even though the service was very slow, staff were polite. Very nice atmosphere even though there was a very loud man in the bar. I asked a man who I assume was the manager that there was no soap in the ladies toilet he said he would deal with it but when I was leaving both soap dispensers were still empty so I had to use the disabled toilet. A mocca was ordered and we were charged for a Hot Chocolate and an Americano which came to £5.50, if we had known it would be this price we would not have ordered it, we queried it and were told we should have looked at the menu, there was no Mocca mentioned so we should have been informed.

Went for lunch in a family group of 4. Had the off-peak offer. Notwithstanding this, the portion sizes really good and the quality excellent. Great service by Julie A. Will definitely be returning soon. Thank you.

Service was excellent as was the food. Only thought the decor maybe needed a bit of updating.

Was OK. When asking about cook breakfast, there is no buffet, and the items came looks so poor and so little. The presentation was not as good as other places similar to the level

Ideal if you're visiting the showground (opposite), it has a Premier Inn attached. Food is OK and when we last visited it was very busy so the service was very slow. As I said it's OK but the decor is very tired and the whole site could seriously do with a refurb.

Great all you can eat breakfast offering continental, cereals, cooked breakfast and a large selection of drinks. Service can be a little slow but you have plenty of time to help yourself to the continental stuff so it’s not too bad. Plus up to two children eat free with a paying adult so what’s not to love

Terrible experience, to be avoided at all costs. Hotel guest arrived before 7.30 pm, not pre-booked, car park was half empty, tables were half empty, asked at the bar for a table for six, and astonished to hear they could not cope with a table for six, disgusting, lame excuse that tables were booked, clearly a lie and staff wanting to finish early. Absolute disgrace, drove 5 minutes away to copperbeach where we were welcomed, a busier restaurant and happy to accept quests after 7.30. A long while since I've been treated like this and will not be forgotten.

Occasionally pop in here and always has a nice atmosphere. Had a great breakfast here recently, was served by Sarah-Jayne who was super helpful and friendly :)

Recently visited the showground for dinner with my family. As always the food was lovely and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our waitress poppy was amazing she really looked after us the whole time we were there making sure we had everything we needed.

Recently visited The Showground for the unlimited breakfast. Lots of choice and the cooked breakfast was delicious. I couldn’t fault the service we received. Thank you to Sarah-Jayne for looking after us. We will definitely visit again.

For us Declan the bar man made this a perfect evening after each of the busy 5 days at the showground. He is a perfect example of how to welcome guests and make them feel at home. What an example of genuine professional customer care.

Good if you want unhealthy food, I didn't, I went with my mother so the only option was a basic salad and pay extra for a small piece of chicken or beef. Food was okay and cooked as asked for. I won't go again because there wasn't enough healthy options. But saying that if you like chips and burgers etc this might be okay for you.

Most of the food was served cold. What arrived was not as advertised or as ordered. Vegetables were ordered but not initially served. When they eventually arrived they were still frozen! Exceptionally small portions (6 Chips) and utterly shocking. The staff were friendly enough but knew how bad things were and how bad the food was. Do not even contemplate visiting this place under any circumstances. It is the worst restaurant I have ever had the misfortune of visiting.

Was ok. Ok food, felt like food had been sat round for a little while but was warm and edible. Not the best but by no means deffinatly not the worst. Service was really good though.

Staff are nice, food is awful. Beyond bland and quite possibly the worst gravy I have ever eaten. Ever. The place is literally falling to pieces too.

Food was disgusting fish was hard and to were the chips . Got given another lot still as bad as first .went without food as it put me of ordering anything else
