I arrived far too early for a funeral and was suggested I come to the white hart … excellant sugestion thank you Parking outside and very enjoyable. A lovely lady running the restaurant so helpful, I needed a coffee and she produced an excellent flat white. We chatted and I then ordered smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel, to by delight and another coffee. Brilliant service and food. It was lovely to see a group of 5 senior gents in for a chat and breakfast, Just really pleasant thank you so much and enjoy Devon next year ……

We have visited on several occasions and have always found the food and service first class. Went for a meal in the upstairs restaurant Friday night, and the food and service was exceptional. The fish and chips were fantastic, and a great selection of ales on the bar. The service was second to none. Would definitely recommend

Having not visited The White Hart for several months, it was so nice to have a freshly baked delicious cheese scone and a pot of hot coffee. My husband had the fruit scone, which was equally as tasty. It’s a very comfortable place to sit, and watch the world go by. The housekeeper keeps the place spotless including the toilets. We will return again soon.

Just been for Sunday lunch and had a fantastic roast dinner which none of us could fault. The food was plentiful and cooked really well. The staff were helpful, attentive and very pleasant. We've had several roast lunches there and each time have left very full & happy.

Below average. Service slow and not welcoming at all. Husband and I had full English breakfast and the bacon was raw had to send back. Still came back raw. Poached eggs over cooked and beans warm. Not impressed at all. Will not be going for breakfast again.

My friend and I spent a wonderful few days at The White Hart last week, the rooms were clean and comfy, the food was excellent and the staff were lovely, highly recommend a visit.

Great local pub, good real ale selection

Didn't stay here but the food was amazing, highly recommend, do be aware as it's a listed building they havnt been able to install a disabled toilet.

We visited the White Hart with a large group (17 guests) for my fathers 70th birthday celebration. Everything from the pre booking months in advance, receiving emails with the current months menu, pre ordering of the food and even accomadating the last min booking changes was such a pleasant experience. The front of house staff were incredible, nothing was too much to ask and the food was delivered to the table perfectly presented, exactly at the pre agreed time, the staff were incredible, polite, helpful and just made the special occasion perfect 👌.. This wasn't the first time we have visited and we will be back for more in the near future. Thankyou to all that made the process and my fathers day special and huge complements to the chef. 17 very happy, very full and satisfied souls

Had a family meal here last Friday. Made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. Very friendly and helpful waitress. I took her advice and had the salmon. It was amazing. Didn't have to wait too long for our meals, although they were busy. All six of us enjoyed our food. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this pub for food. Staff are a credit to the place too. Thank you for a love evening.

Great food in the bar, good service, dog friendly what’s not to like ?

We are visiting the local area, and this pub was recommended to us. It did not disappoint! The staff were lovely, and the food delicious. There was a lovely atmosphere, even on a Monday night!

We visited on an unusually hot day in search of some liquid! As soon as we stepped through the door the staff were so kind to show us the room that has air con as we wanted to cool our dog down. We were handed menus (including the dog menu) and ordered drinks straightaway. The menu has a great variety of items, including plenty for vegetarians and vegans which I was really happy about. My partner and I went for the dirty fries as we didn’t want a big meal. These were super tasty, quite pricey for the portion size, but lovely nonetheless. Woody sampled the meat loaf from the dog menu and it lasted all of 10 seconds so we think he liked it! Big shout out to our lovely server (sorry we didn’t get her name but she is fairly new and from Dereham!). She was so welcoming and even bought Woody a cheeky dog biscuit which he very much appreciated. Overall we had a lovely time with nice food, good drinks in a lovely historical pub and will definitely return. Also 10/10 for the feminine products in the toilets, a great touch.

We had a dinner date here on a Friday evening. The pub was quite busy so we booked in advance under advice of our hosts. The are various rooms, upstairs and downstaires. The pub was warm and had a nice atmosphere. Good choice of food that was reasonably priced. Staff were cheerful and genuinely helpful and attentive. Although we only had our table for 2 hours they didn’t try and chase us out. Service was quick and with a smile. We had the onion soup which was delicious and highly recommend! We didn’t rate the non alcoholic wine very much tho! Good night, thank you!

On holiday in Norfolk and spotted the sign outside for scones. Very busy inside but quickly served with our hot drinks. The scones were huge and came with ample supplies of jam and cream. But essentially they were delicious.

Well, well, well… what can I say. As a rotund gentleman I try to limit my blowouts, however, when a good friend recommend this restaurant I could not say no. I have lusted over this menu for the last week and have dreamt about how incredible it would be. I was not disappointed. Firstly, I was seated upstairs in the ‘high society’ area, very fitting for a gentleman of my caliber. Secondly the food was other worldly. The mixture of decor and food had me tastefully aroused from start until finish. Very highly recommended. I don’t like food, I love it. If I’m not tastefully aroused, I DON’T swallow. Until next time friends, stay aroused!

Stayed twice now, fantastic rooms, the beds are amazingly comfortable, staff are an absolute delight, very warm and friendly atmosphere.

This quaint boutique hotel, is faultless. We throughly enjoyed our night stay. The staff were amazing and did everything to make our trip effortless. We loved the vibe of the pub and the room we stayed in; with all the little touches. We laughed that we had a dress mannequin wearing a set of pearls, located in the mezzanine - watching over us at night. If you don’t mind that, then you’ll be fine. This is most definitely a venue we will stay in again, should we return to Norfolk. Thank you to all who made us feel at home. Only other tip, a memory foam mattress would have been perfect, as we struggle with a soft mattress. But setting that aside, perfect and great value for money.

Went here for lunch with friends and really enjoyed the food. I had the salmon, which was very tasty, followed by the cheesecake with biscoff sauce, this was equally good. Staff were friendly and efficient.

The staff at The White Hart are delightful, impeccably trained to a high standard well done all. In addition the varied imaginative menu offers an excellent a choice which would suit all tastes and is a fair price for home cooked good quality food. We will certainly be back.

We came for dinner on Saturday eve (Friday just for drinks) - everything was excellent - the bar itself, food and wine. We were looked after by Holly - she was so polite and helpful and a credit to your bar. Thank you - we will defo be back. Xx

Very lovely stay at the White Hart Hotel, the room was perfect and had everything I needed. The staff at the hotel were so friendly and welcoming, the food and was really good and very quick service. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hopefully will get to stay again.

Very nice meal enjoyed here. Waitress didn't get it quite right so had to wait for one meal but were offered something to be going on with! Overall good experience.

It's our go-to each month. Staff are amazing. Food never disappoints. The atmosphere is great. Cannot give stars for rooms as we live close by, we have no need to stay.

Excellent country pub, good service

My whole experience of staying at The White Hart was excellent. I contacted the team prior to my stay to discuss check in options, Katie was very helpful and kind. I checked in approx 11pm and the team and environment was welcoming. I stayed in room 2, which was beautifully decorated, and filled with all the basic necessities. My particular favourite was the cotton pads and cotton buds in the bathroom - very clever idea! Breakfast was delicious, a great selection available, and dietary requirements catered for. I am Coeliac and was well looked after. 10/10, would 100% return. Thank you!

Came here for an evening meal on a busy Saturday night, staff were composed and coped with the business and my steak was cooked to perfection.

Went with my sons for a meal in the hotels restaurant and had a really great meal. The atmosphere of the place was good with a mixture of locals and outsiders that had travelled to eat here. The menu changes monthly but always excellent. The food is presented very attractively and is a feast for the eye even before the feast for the palate. Service is good attentive but without being intrusive and nothing too much trouble. Price was very reasonable, we each had a drink, starter, main and dessert for a total of less than £33 each for an excellent repast. A definite return venue, we intend to do this monthly as enjoyed it so much.

We had a lovely Friday night dinner in the restaurant. Seated upstairs - we had excellent service and enjoyed the food.

The best hotel we’ve stayed at! We’ve come here twice now and always blown away by the attentiveness of the staff and the brilliant food. Sam was particularly attentive and made our stay very fun. The cream tea is a lovely touch too! Can’t wait to come back soon

Visited here for my work leaving do last week with a group of work colleagues . Although most of the party were late, staff were really welcoming and accommodating towards our table. Absolutely loved the inventive vegan options, a hats off to the chef for creating interesting and inspiring vegan options throughout the menu and not just the boring 'falafel and risotto' options some places stick to. I was spoilt for choice and was very happy with the dish I chose, it was delicious. One of the members of our dinner table was particularly loud and I felt sorry for the staff and other diners putting up with the constant loudness of her but staff didn't react or tell her to keep the noise down which was really patient of them as I don't think I would have had the Patience to tolerate someone so loud in a nice venue but the staff were faultless. Look forward to returning and keep up the wonderful work everyone .

Stayed here for the second time. Really comfortable rooms, friendly service, good food and good parking.

Lovely market town pub with friendly staff

The White Hart is a gem. The staff are welcoming and cheerful. Their level of service is excellent. The pub is warm and comfortable. They have a good selection of drinks. The food is very good and tasty. There is a good selection of gluten-free options. The burgers are excellent and the ribs were divine. The White Hart is very dog friendly.

4 of us dined here on the evening of the 24th January, 2024. The food was excellent, served hot and quickly, and the staff were exceptional. They are pleasant, polite and professional, and made our visit most enjoyable. I can highly recommend this restaurant,.

One of our most enjoyable little villages in this part of Norfolk and a lovely place for a social drink and meal. Great attentive service and food is decent enough.

Great Sunday roast, lovely staff.

We booked a table for dinner and were a little early, but the table was ready, so we were able to sit down straight away. We were in a side room upstairs, which was lovely and had so much character. Our waitress was great and really friendly. The dinner was a bit of a mixed bag. Brussels were extremely hard, and the roast potatoes were even harder. I didn't eat mine as they were impossible to cut. That was it. The dinner was served, and we were left alone for the rest of the afternoon/evening. No one came to clear the table or see if we wanted dessert or coffee. I actually think that they forgot about us!! After finishing our dinner we waited for around 45 minutes and then I went downstairs to remind them we were still there by asking if someone would be able to come and take a picture for us, a waitress said that she would be there in a minute but we gave up after 20 minutes, paid the bill and went home. I am very disappointed. This was a special meal for my dad's 80th birthday, and special it was not!!

We’ve just been for our family Christmas meal (only a small 21 of us) and the whole thing from booking it months ago to dessert was fantastic. The team were great with keeping in contact about menu orders, had a little snag of not enough settings as the kids menu choices weren’t clear on the form BUT was quickly and easily sorted. Food was incredible! Very reasonably priced and we were all very happy. Staff were polite and lovely and they did incredibly well to grant my mum’s wishes of having a private room as this was her first Christmas not cooking ‘the’ family Christmas meal. We will be returning at some point (not all of us at once 😅)

The Christmas Pot pie was tasty as was the Traditional Christmas turkey meal. The desserts of Tiramasu and Cristmas Pudding. Great service, great Staff, lovely venue.

Food was really good Eggs Benedict couldn't have faulted. I have sent 2 back in a row in larger chains as the ham was so cold it chilled my whole Meal twice. The White Hart was really nice and has been my local a lot of my life. I rarely frequent pubs much now. Mainly for food if i do. I only gave 3 stars for service as the lovey lady serving was just a bit slow considering the very few people but very nice none the less. I've found my new favourite Eggs Benedict place to eat.

First visit here and it's a lovely old building, however the food is on the expensive side. I had fish and chips which was definitely value for money but the rump steak, and pasta dish order by our table didn't. Staff friendly and chatty, plenty of parking opposite and at the front of the building

My husband and I have had an amazing meal at The White Hart in Hingham tonight. The food we had was tastier and different to anything I’ve had out in a long time. The flavours were amazing and my mouth is still zinging Definitely recommend.

Visited this pub/restaurant pre-covid and food was lovely. Tonight we visited again and not so great. Charged over £6 for a prawn cocktail starter and it was like we were sharing a portion between us! Tiny portions, fit for a child maybe! Told the waitress to feed this back to the chef. Main course was fish and chips, fish was ok but batter was very overdone and dry and so were the chips. Partner had pork chop which he said was ok. Overall very underwhelmed. Wouldn’t visit again for food.

Stayed bank holidays weekend for a wedding near by. Lovely hotel and a beautiful room. The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had! As was the complimentary cream tea. Everyone who worked here was really friendly and helpful. We will be back.

The White Hart in Hingham is a lovely country pub. They would be absolutely packed if they could get the food right, something we have been saying for the last 11 years we have been living close by. We don’t go in as often as we mean to but decided to Friday evening, lovely, enjoyed a drink or two, great service from the young ladies and gentleman serving us. Ordered some food (took a chance) I ordered chill with rice for my main meal. Tiny, it was put on a big plate and spread over. I had as much sour cream as I had chilli , a small pile of rice and four small nachos . I’m recovering from surgery and haven’t much of a appetite but it left me still wanting more. If they put the chilli in it bowl, which it should have been served in, it would have looked like a stater. I will say it was delicious, but feel cheated. I did say to waitress when you get the usual, how was your meal, that it was a tiny portion but very nice, and she just said excellent! My husband had fish and chips, it was just ok. Such a shame.

Saved by Sam! 10yrs we have supported local, tonight was a disappointment, £14 for a meal that was served up on half a plate and no side salad. Thank you Sam for adding to my meal. Taste wise delicious 😋 We understand the cost of living rises but it could have been better. Sorry for being honest as we love our village pub and will always support it!

We enjoyed our dinner - Super impressive attention to dietary intolerances - both the wait person (Holly) and the kitchen staff made every effort to ensure I could get a meal that worked for me - with astonishing thought and patience. The quality of the food when it came was lovely - certainly a busy place - advise booking - also accommodate dogs if pre booked - our dog Dottie loved her dinner too. Highly recommend this as a great place to have food relax and unwind. Great accessibility too - loos on ground floor and easy to get around 😁 Thank you and well done to Holly for great service and attention to detail.

This was a great dining experience with both top quality food and great service. All of our meals where a hit and the hunter’s chicken I had was tasty and well presented. The staff were lovely, making sure we were enjoying our evening throughout. The Scottish waiter in particular was very personable and really helpful when it came to any questions regarding the food or drink. A huge bonus was that they catered excellently to the vegan in our group, which we sometimes struggle with, however this was not an issue as they had multiple vegan options which were well thought out. We had a top experience here and I’m sure we will be back in the future!

Reviewing the food separately from the room, both nights we ate here were excellent. Good quality produce at a decent price, with proper portions and the pub vibes kept intact. This is a great pub serving what it should without any pretension.

So impressed with the vegan option - cauliflower steak with saag aloo. Really tasty and rare to find a vegetable vegan dish done so very well in a non- vegan establishment. Service was great and very accommodating in changing a dish slightly. Really great family meal where everyone was happy. Puddings delicious too. Can recommend!

Lovely 3 course meal for me and my husband. Friendly staff, great food. Service was great & staff were chatty. The only negative was that the bar area was really hot, even on a cooler day, but would not stop us visiting again.
