The Worlds End in South Norfolk

I feel this Pub is being run by Publicans who have lost their love and energy for the place. Great garden, play equipment tired and not maintained, broken benches just left upturned, rusty screws protruding, behind a bush for anyone to meddle with. Not sure which decade the fryers had their oil changed, they may have stopped this a while back and never restarted due to likely self immolation whilst undertaking this in a Shell Suit.

Went into Worlds End after Open Gardens event in Mulbarton. Charged over £12 for a pint of real ale and a bottle of Kopparberg. That's a total rip-off for a local village pub and I'm surprised locals (because that's basically their main custom) will pay that. We haven't been in there for many years but decor hasn't changed since the 1970's! What a shame for such a historic pub.

Nice place. Large helpings of food and good beers. Great garden. Plenty of seating.

We visited family so decided to have a Sunday roast not a carvery I might add.the pub was dead that was a clue not anyone eaten a roast no one eaten there at all it was the worst carvery I’ve ever had nothing was cooked properly the beef was so chewy it was not edible plus nearly raw veg was also undercooked.the gravy was like water tasteless £15.98 over priced poorly cooked dinner my wife didn’t eat any of it and my daughter ate half of it I complained they brought some pork out which was better the cook/manager came over very rude by the way. blamed the butcher and said it’s usually melt in your mouth I’m sorry you cannot cook I think the beef would of been fine if you cooked it correctly.they offered to refund one carvery/roast which I was not happy with but refused to refund the others.do not wast your time and money going here terrible food terrible service not good at all.

Speedy service, food was good, nice atmosphere, large garden, ideal for families with play areas, swings etc. My only complaint is that the parasols which aren't anchored to the ground or in weighted bases. The consequences of which meant we spent some of our time holding onto it when the wind blew, when we should have been enjoying our food!!

Went to the open gardens in Mulbarton.thought we would go into the pub for a pint .ordered a pint of ghost ship and a glass of pressco.was charged £14 .I nearly passed out I have never been ripped off so much.won’t be coming back so shocked.the boy behind the bar was pleasant though.still can’t believe it

It's a shame this place is classed as a hotel so I can't give the food a rating but the Sunday roast here was wildly good. Far from the 'artisanal' style that punctuates the city restaurants so fervently, this is a lovely, rustic piled up plate of delicious and freshly carved goodness. Fantastic meal and extra gravy and sauces in abundance. Drinks very reasonably priced and a gigantic back garden to enjoy the sunshine and a bit of Al fresco dining. A word about the staff - every one of them was a superstar. So effortlessly happy and welcoming it was like visiting old friends. Instantly comfortable and wanted to stay longer because they were so genuinely lovely. Very chilled, very lovely place to spend a lazy sunny summer afternoon.

Excellent Roast, huge portion and delicious home cooked meal and we had no room left for dessert. Staff shortage meant they struggled to cope but service was excellent and they even found time to pop back to ask if everything was to our liking. Can't say we've ever had a better roast and in a lovely old pub in atmospheric surroundings

Bar Food and drinks overpriced. Service good. Beer garden is a useful facility. It is not an establishment which would merit rave reviews in the general course of business. Rating against local peer pubs understandable - no better than average.

I can't explain how bad the roast is. I couldn't tell I was eating beef, completely tasteless, potatoes clearly reheated, veg hard and cold, gravy like water. Was worse than I remember school dinners being! Nice beer garden and area for kids but awful for food.

Only good thing about this place is the beer garden. Went for the carvery (which wasn't a carvery). The food was flavourless and low quality. The pub is dated and wasn't very clean at all. The only baby change is in the ladies so not great for dad's. We won't be returning.

Went for a Sunday roast today, £16 for the smallest roast! Was missing half the items that were listed like cauliflower cheese , we all had different sizes of roasts one of us had two Yorkshire puddings and rest had 1, it tasted horrible, should of been our first sign that we was the only people in on a Sunday! Also 6.70 for a pint what the hell. Plus staff was rude to my missus about our child being outside. AVOID THIS PLACE

We went to the Worlds End as it advertised a Sunday carvery, however there was no carvery on offer. Instead we got a fairly mediocre roast on a too small plate so much so that items fell off the edge. No choice of vegetables either. So in all a below par experience

My favourite pub. Lovely people. Parking is easy. Food is good value. Garden is the best around. Peaceful customers. Very family and dog friendly in the garden. Playing area for kids. The perfect family pub, but large enough that each family has space. A place you can safely take friends in the knowledge that you won’t be disappointed or stung in the wallet.

Lovely old pub, with caring staff,very friendly and very helpful and indeed very hardworking, The young lady serving, seemed to cover every inch of the building itself....nothing seemed too much for her. The management may want to look at a pay increase for her!!!!!

Sat in the garden, Roast dinner was awful, cold Yorkshire pudding and some veg cold! Potatoes tasted strange like they had been reheated! Some meals came out quite a bit later than others and we had to ask for cutlery. Some of the garden tables are in a dirty state which is a shame. Would I eat here again? No too overpriced for poor quality. Desserts were the best part of this family meal.

I booked here for a lunch time meal with family on a Sunday and we all felt a bit disappointed with the meals and service. My pimms was served in a pint glass and our meals came out in dribs and drabs which meant we were all eating at different times. Some things weren't available which I find difficult to believe! Things like sprinkles for the kids ice cream which probably need to be stocked up. The meals we had weren't good value for money either and some of our drinks were warm. What a pity because the garden is lovely and the children loved playing on the park. Take note manager this has such potential but sadly it wasn't met on this occasion. Maybe with some improvements we might return in the future.

Stopped for Sunday lunch on way to our accommodation in Norfolk. Had a lovely Sunday roast in the large garden on a lovely and warm Sunday afternoon. The garden has a kiddies adventure playground near the bottom of garden. Service was quite slow as only one chap was taking orders at the bar and getting drinks, etc but meal arrived quickly.

Food was OK, good portion sizes. Service was lacking. Opening times are wrong on Google.

We came for a family meal. The lady serving was probably the most miserable ‘front of house’ staff I’ve ever been served by, I wouldn’t usually be so personal but it was hard to ignore as she was so positively rude. The food was cheap and expensive, I expect high prices now but would expect better quality for it. The bloke behind the bar was friendly and helpful though. The play area outside is tired and needs attention. We won’t be returning.

Place stinks of smoke and like a run down care home. Service ok from waitress, however restrictive management creating overall poor service and experience. Not willing to go above and beyond for best customer outcome, even with the most simplest of requests. The pub was awfully quiet for a bank holiday weekend, this should have been our first sign of a bad pub. This pub needs a really good clean. Please use a carpet washer on the furniture and floor to bring back some colour in the pub. A pub is a pub at the end of the day, serves food and drink so 2 stars as it was open and served. Lacks service with a smile.

Popped in on a Wednesday lunchtime and it was very quiet. We had an excellent meal (vegetarian curry for me, lamb shank for my partner) and were very glad we'd called in. The lamb came with loads of vegetables as well. Prompt and courteous service too. Would highly recommend.

Is this a dog friendly pub or not? Conflicting views. We live nearby and have been refused entry due to us having a very well behaved small dog with us. We have definitely seen dogs in there on a number of occasions. Refused custom in these hard times is ridiculous, especially where the pub is situated. So many of us have dogs as we are so rural in this area. Also the choice of real ales is extremely poor and the prices are highl So we take the bus - dog friendly - into Norwich and have a pint or two with our doggie in a Norwich pub instead!

Several items not available. Steak and ale pie was disappointing. Meat was tough, and not much of it. Gravy was thin and pastry was a flaky pastry lid. Jacket potatoes skin was so tough that you were not able to cut. Beans were watery and cold, cheese was a small amount. A disappointing meal.

Second very nice meal here, specials are well worth trying! Good choice of beers / cider. Welcoming staff, our dog was very cosy by the fire.

Poor selection of beer, expensive food and cannot think of anything nice to say about it. Yes, on reflection, no dogs allowed - it is a rural pub! At least have a secluded bar area for dogs. Ridiculous.

We went there for a meal it was steak night Thursday advertised on the banner outfront in the car park £9.95 any steak There was no steaks for that price cheapest steak was around £13 got told by the waitress “still a good deal” not seeming to realise that you should sell what you advertise Chips awful cheap processed, salad had bits of grit in it. To be fair the steak was passable Drinks seam way over priced. They have got their selves into a catch 22 position have to charge a lot to cover there overheads for the fewer people who go in. Then less people going because they charge a lot.

Popped in for lunch which we really enjoyed. The staff were helpful and loved the pub. Plenty of seating outside in the garden area and a big car park out front. It is a dog-friendly pub which is great as we had our little one with us. Nice pub in a lovely village. We will be back.

The kids loved the garden but thats about as good as it gets. Food was out of a box. The kids burgers were inedible, rubbery and tasteless. The deep fried selection was Iceland finest,out of a box and into the microwave. Staff pleasant enough and beer selection good but I wouldn't eat there again.

I live in village and occasionally drop into the world's end never has there been a warm welcome ,no hello, you ok,or even a smooth visit in the 7 years I've visited the pub. Manors and politeness doesnt anything!!current staff mainly look a mess with scruffy outfits ,the landlord comes across as rude and smug always non interestedin guests..Whenever food has been ordered and I'm only talking once every 3 months hoping each time it's improved unfortunately its still to a poor standard or cold and just recently they seem to panic when you ask for food ,guessing who ever works the kitchen is inexperienced or very slow, this is a massive pub with so much potential yet it doesn't serve the locals well or with any respect. Hi me and wife stumbled across the worlds end pub today,in need of some good food. Well what a surprise to find a old english pub with great pub grub. I had catch of the day it was amazing one of the best cooked fish ive ever had. The service was amazing to.and a great price well done guys.

Stopped for a quick drink to kill a little time before heading into the city. Couldn't resist a pudding... sticky toffee pudding and it was perfection. Great visit & will return for a complete meal very soon.

my main was so average i didnt have desert, my friend got a refund on her desert as the sticky toffee cake was frozen in middle and when i moved fm table there was a horrible mucky brown trail along my chest as rim of table was dirty, then someone at pub left me a helpful note on my moped which was parked in pub car park, a real shame as such a beautiful old pub

Staying close by in a cottage. Checked on website, saw that night was Steak special £9:95 with all the trimmings. Pub was really lovely, really large beer garden at the rear. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was not a disappointment! !!

Stopped in here for a lunch with visiting family.The staff were, at first, reasonably polite and took our orders quickly.I had the chicken with blue cheese andvpeppervorn sauce, with vegetables. I found a hair under the chicken as I got near the end of eating the breast. That was quite gross, so I left the vegetables.The fish was good, burger ok and duck quite tasty.We went up to the bar to pay.As there was a dog behind the bar, maybe it was not so surprising to find a short hair in my meal. I had let the woman know my meal was tasty but that it had a hair, obviously not mine, as I have long hair.Looking at the bill, i said, oh, I'm surprised you've taken nothing off considering my good had hair in it.Like, maybe they could have at least said I'll take your drink off!She walked off to the kitchen, "They're moaning about the chicken",as she went!Duh, if you're going to complain about customers at least wait till they can't hear you. I bet if I gave them food with a hair in they wouldn't be happy about it, so don't expect customers not to like it.

Al explicar lo que estaba mal, ella se volvió de espaldas y dijo que estaba bien. No hay modales en absoluto. Estuvimos bien Estuvimos agradables. No nos ofrecieron nada. No hay alternativa. No hay reembolso. No beber. Ninguna disculpa 3 xceot de la joven que estaba sirviendo comida. Asqueroso. No comer aquí de nuevo

The pub is spoiled due to admitting small chikdren whose parents do not keep them quiet. Our eardrums took time to recover fromthe screaming od babies and toddlers. The food took a long time to arrive and the portionscwere small for the price

Firstly the website shows the opening times for food is 17-30 hrs, we were told this was in fact 18-00hrs by the bar person .We were then informed there wasn't any burgers left , no fish & chips plus other items off the menu, very disappointed having brought four friends with us .Two off who commented "It is now 16-15 hrs Norwich with supermarkets only 5 minutes down the road ,why not get supplies ready for the 6 pm opening for food ".We felt we had let our friends from Yorkshire down , the establishment had let us down

La comida que tuve fue una porción de tamaño decente y alcanzó la marca para mis papilas gustativas. Lo que me gustó mucho también fueron las verduras que lo acompañaban, una buena selección y cocinadas a la perfección, no hervidas ni sub-cocinadas, y también una buena porción para acompañar el plato principal. Basándome en esta comida, si vuelvo a estar cerca, ¡volveré para probar algo más! Servicio agradable también.

Un colega me engañó un poco cuando me enteré de que habían tenido un almuerzo "decente" el domingo aquí, así que me fui a dar una vuelta. Tenía muchas ganas de disfrutar de una deliciosa comida, pero me decepcionó descubrir que era un asador del que no soy fan. Podría haber salido del menú, pero me apetecía un asado que fui a por él. Error - carne seca, salsa no es en absoluto como la madre hace.

Visitamos con algunos amigos para tomar unas copas. El lugar estaba vacío, por lo que pensaría que el personal estaría contento de ver a los clientes que pagan, pero la camarera del bar era tan desdichada que pensaría que pedimos algo fuera de lo común. Es una pena y tal vez por eso el pub estaba vacío. No tendrá prisa por volver.

Ha pasado un tiempo desde que revisé el Worlds End, aunque he visitado a menudo. Fui con algunos amigos para una cena y no me decepcionó. Una vez más, Adam estaba de guardia y, como siempre, era muy profesional, inteligente y amable. Tuve mermelada y un solomillo cocinado medio raro a la perfección. Las placas estaban calientes y deberían estarlo. Una buena lista de vinos y, en general, una velada muy agradable y un buen ambiente en el pub.

Llamado para un domingo carvery con mi familia. La carne era pequeña en porciones, la carne de res era dura, el pavo seco, las papas asadas congeladas, el tipo de resurtido, la salsa delgada, sin relleno. Era muy similar a un carvey Crown, que es la mitad del precio. 4. 60 una pinta es empinada también. La mayoría de los lectores leerán entre líneas en una calificación promedio, ya que al pagar para comer incluso por las comidas básicas, el promedio no lo reduce.

We were staying at the pub for our friend’s party. The pub is beautifully traditional. The staff all friendly and welcoming. Great choice of drinks - especially gins! The chap behind the bar cheerfully made recommendations so.I got to try some that I hadn’t heard of before

Disfruté de una buena comida hace una semana con algunos amigos cercanos. La mitad de nuestra fiesta disfrutó el domingo carvery que estaba delicioso. Una muy buena selección de verduras y carnes bien cocinadas con pudines de Yorkshire gigantes. Otros miembros disfrutaron del pescado. pastel de carne y salmón. Una buena selección de postres estaba disponible. Puedo recomendar la esponja y la crema de limón siciliano.

Mi compañero y yo salimos con algunos amigos a comer y nos lo pasamos muy bien. La comida era excelente y el personal fue muy amable y servicial. El restaurante estaba muy limpio y era fácil llegar ya que mi compañero está en una silla de ruedas. Si estás fuera de esa manera y queriendo una buena comida, sería un muy buen lugar para comer. La comida es buena para el dinero.

Visitamos Worlds End muchas veces y siempre tuvimos una comida muy agradable. Fui con un amigo y Adam que estaba de servicio esa noche fue brillante. Estaba muy ocupado el lunes por la noche y él estaba solo y le fue bien con toda la gente de allí. Tuvimos una comida encantadora y una velada agradable.

Went to the worlds end for Sunday lunch, we opted for the carvery which was lovely. The beef was lovely and tender and the vegetables were all freshly cooked and piping hot.

This is the perfect summer pub for families to have a meal. The beer garden is beautifully landscaped with lots to do for little ones whilst they wait for the food to arrive. I would recommend the Sunday carvery which was lovely. Lots of seating in side and out.

Sunday tea time went for a meal (8 of us 6 pm) told we would wait 35 minutes to order OK , 30 minutes later we’re told they couldn’t serve us and we should have booked, funny that as the people who had booked were told they wouldn’t get food either.
