Service was excellent, but the food was very overpriced for what you get. I am a bit disappointed as I was very looking forward to have a great experience and the food was very avaridge, nothing special. I could have spend that money elsewhere and enjoyed my dinner more. Overall wasn't a horrendous experience but I would not consider to return.

Didn’t fancy a big meal so decided to have a sandwich to take away. Good choice and large. Ham and cheese was so fresh and tasty. Very pleased, so big we asked for it to be cut in half. Would recommend.

we met with friends today, what a find, it was immaculate inside and obviously well cared for... Lovely guy served us and the meals were all perfect, we were 4 and another table, such a shame as the owner goes above and beyond.... Real napkins not bits of tissue. best chips anywhere crispy and fluffy.. a faultless experience... look forward to returning. Thank you J Barleycorn

We found this Beautiful village and delightful pub on return from Cambridge to London… The food was delicious and service was great. It was a nice warm day and we sat on a very comfortable patio in back yard. Our young server was very attentive and polite (she even told us we don’t need to tip her because service charge was already on bill) The only negative we can state; is the size of some of the portions… the burger was plentiful and delicious. However, the chicken dish whilst very tasty was very small and consisted of one potato, four very small baby carrots and two small pieces of chicken; One of us left the pub still hungry. I think sometimes pubs try too hard and forget that most people go to a pub for a large, filling plate of pub food.

Our walking group of 21 people were well looked after for lunch on Monday - our thanks to the manager, James, and the staff. We preordered our selections 2 days earlier - popular choices were burgers, smaller portions of fish and chips, gammon steak with a fried egg and chips, and jacket potatoes with various fillings. The meals were served efficiently soon after we were seated and people were pleased with their food. This is a popular pub in Cambourne, with outside seating and plenty of parking, very near to the main shopping centre.

Having dined here many times this visit was a huge disappointment. We ordered 2 lattes which were quickly dispensed and ordered our lunch, mine was Brie & Cranberry Ciabbata and my husband ordered battered cod and chips. The food was served quite promptly and looked to be good. My ciabbata was lovely with a nice side of chips and salad so no complaints there, my husband however, whilst the cod looked nice and crispy, found that it was dangerously hot and burnt underneath! The batter was rock solid and totally inedible. He returned his meal and asked for a refund which was given without hesitation. The lattes were sadly not good, bitter coffee and more like americanos, certainly no frothy top to them. Such a shame, hopefully just a blip from the chef.

The place was a little run down but the food on the buffet looked nice.

We expect a landlady to have a certain brusque disposition, it rather goes with the territory when you're managing a pub. There is a very big difference, however, between a firm manner and overt discourtesy. Before visiting, I had read older reviews, but dismissed them as the usual village gossip and sour grapes. I'm afraid, though, that staff at the Cock Inn come exactly as described - gratuitously and randomly rude. Funnily enough, everyone else in the village seems happy with my manners; even the teens working at the Co-op can manage a smile now and then - it's just this one place. The building's interior and gardens are actually quite attractive - presumably this is the only reason they are still in business - but the architecture is not in itself enough to warrant a visit. If you are travelling any kind of distance, and especially if you are visiting with others who would be embarrassed if you have to walk out, you might consider choosing a different pub.

Not as good as expected. Ordered fish & chips which was ok, also had a jacket potato with cheese & beans which was black inside and out, totally inedible. As was the bread and butter which was stale & crispy like it was left out all day. When we complained we did get our money back but the worst bit was there was no apology and no care that we were unhappy. Won't be coming back.
