Ordered cod n chips large. Fish batter was like wallpaper paste and had about 20 chips for near £16 delivered. Waited an hour. Driver said it was "chaos" in store. The most expensive chippy in Cambridgeshire. Awful.

Waited 2 hours for my food! Shocking service every time I phoned up to chase the order. Will be using Papworth from now on!!!

Ordered 5.45pm. Wrong food delivered at 7.40pm. 3 calls to restaurant and finally got correct food at 8.35pm nearly 3 hours after ordering. App said food had been delivered at 6.50pm. Oh dear Fish & Chicken!

Poorest of service and longest wait - they prioritise online orders so you stand and wait till there's a gap in orders obviously can't cope with order volumes

Don’t bother doing a click and collect, they don’t even start cooking it until you arrive if you’ve booked a time slot. And then they take ages. They also quite often don’t even give you the correct order. Terrible service.

Ordered food at 7:30 this evening. 9:00 and still haven’t recieved it. Rang them up to be told the delivery driver has gone home so I won’t be getting my food due to their mix up (they didn’t have me as delivery even though I paid for it). Was told they would not be able to give me a refund either as “I’m not high enough up to do it” and they were very unhelpful when I asked how I’d get my refund, was told manager would look into it it but they didn’t take my name or number. Didn’t give me a clear answer Very unhappy

Not as good as most coastal fish & chip places but better than average in the area.

Food was ok but delivery was late

So I got normal chips,savloy,curry sauce and can of drink for £11.50! My local chippy charges half the price…

A warm welcome when I entered, spoke with the owner who showed me where & how is fish are caught. The fish was beautifully cooked with large succulent flakes coated in crisp batter, the curry sauce & chips were a great accompaniment, I recommend this restaurant. Martin

Placed order at 6.22pm and it never arrived, stay clear as when they mess up they always claim they were knocking at the door which I never the case, staff are rude and unhelpful and I won’t be using them again as there service is shocking!!

Portion sizes in this shop is a gamble. The food is not always bad but portion sizes are never the same and it's not cheap. Some days your portion can be half of what it should be, be careful. They also have a lunch special every day, but they close shop for about 3 hours over that period, so no one can buy the special for several hours. If this wasn't the only fish shop in Cambourne, I would be supporting the other shop.

My order came with the box opened and half a portion of chips, for £11 you would think you would get a fair size portion?

Had battered sausage and large chips Monday 24th of June around 16.45. Chips were clean,hot and fresh. The large ptn was a good size too. Sausage was good too. I think slightly expensive,but as I was 100% happy with everything,I can live with it. Service was good from an efficient polite young lady .

The food brilliant , the restaurant clean but slightly out of touch with modernism (my subjective point of view) could look better. The staff seem not bothered about service, other than that positive

Ordered 1 large chips and mushy peas for the price of £12...to go with a large Pie we had cooking in the oven, food was 30 minutes late when I called them as by this point I had taken our pie out and it was getting cold. They said it was on the way, it came 10 minutes late and at this point now 40 minutes late. Look it out when the guy left to find the smallest portion of chips and a small tub of mushy peas. It would have not even filled me up. So I actually got in my car drove down there and demanded to know what they class as a large portion assuming they had sent the wrong size and they said that was what they classed as large. I promptly told them to have the food back and refund me my money, To the guy I assume is the managers credit, he did offer to replace it as it was going cold and even offered extras but I had to decline and I will never return. Do yourself a favour and go to Papworth instead, or treat yourself if you can in Cambridge, much cheaper and portion sizes are amazing.

I had fish and chips from them last night and made me ill all night. This morning I threw up and still not feeling great so not sure if I will be going back

The fish tasted old.. hard batter not crispy or flakey and the chips had stones in!! STONES!! Refund wanted

Order was placed at 7.30pm with delivery estimated for 8.30pm - 8.50pm. Called restaurant at 8.55pm told it is on its way and will arrive by 9.00pm. Called again at 9.13pm as it still hadn’t arrived. Told it would be 5-6 mins. Called again at 9.25pm and told it had just left the restaurant. It arrived just after 9.30pm most of it cold and some of the order missing. Complete rubbish and pretty dismissive attitude by staff when called.

60 minute is the max but the delivery was TWO HOURS late !!!!

Waited 45 minutes for a medium sized order, fish was soggy no flavour, my burger came with no bun and food wasn’t even warm. The chicken was dripping with grease.

Upon leaving this review, the shop has only 3.7 stars rating. However, for me, it definitely deserves 5 stars all day long! The chips were cooked to perfection. Well done and nice crispy bits at the bottom. The curry sauce was to die for! Thick and flavoursome, not bland at all. Thanks to the team at Fishnchicken... I'll definitely return to your shop if I'm ever in the area again.

Chicken was dry and over cooked. prices were unbelievable. £4 for a normal portion of chips would advise never to buy from them again

ordered for 20 past 7 , had to contact them at half 7 , told it would b now at 7.45 , arrived 10 past 8

we asked for it asap but it came earlier then what was on the just eat app the food was great and when they had missed an item they came back quickly to give it to us asap.

The food isn't bad my they are a bit tight with putting salt on the chips which is annoying as when I ate them they had no flavour. I miss fish and chip shops where you can see them putting salt on your chips!

I had an amazing experience with the food delivery! The food arrived hot and on time, and the portion sizes were generous. I was blown away by how delicious everything tasted. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try!

Always late ordered food got told it would take 45 mins 1.5 hrs later called them they said its leaving the shop now (I live 5 minutes away) 2 hrs now past still not arrived and now being told it left 5 mins ago .... last time we ordered they declined my order 1.75 hrs before they closed telling me they sent all the staff home. Nothing but problems with this shop since been taken over.

They attempted a delivery of my food and I didn't answer. Subsequently received a phone call and thankfully they redelivered, which is great! The problem, is the person who was delivering the food knocked on the door so lightly, that it's no wonder I missed it the first time. Also, I'm kind of surprised I didn't receive a phone call when they were here the first time, rather than taking the food all the way back and having to subsequently come back out for a delivery? This experience isn't going to make me not order from them again, but there's definitely some room for improvement there.

Order only arrived after ringing the restaurant twice, it had obviously been hastily prepared and was over 2 hours late. The delivery driver was very polite and apologised but the delivery time was completely unacceptable. I expect a full refund

No salt and vinegar chips undercooked

Ordered a large Cod and chips. The size of the fish in my honest opinion was small to medium and flat and quantity of chips was ridiculous!! In fairness to the Manager who was very kind and helpful sent a replacement out. I ask the powers that be at Fish and Chicken please increase your portion size the cost with delivery is nearly £20 (not cheap) and staff should not have to deal with complaints like this. My thanks to the staff for correcting this

Quite the worse chips I have ever tasted. Underdone, hard, insipid, no crispiness to them. Totally awful. They don't put salt and vinegar on the counter, I asked for vinegar and I think the thing was quickly shaken twice

I ordered a small cod & chips & 2 kids meals.. all of them were the exact same size so I might as well have ordered myself a kids cod & chips which comes with a free drink lol

This would have to be the worst chip shop in the area, nothing is ever ready at 5pm today no fish no pies were cooked just a mountain of battered sausages, if you go into a chip shop in Cambridge everything is hot and ready to serve up, when you do get the chips they are white and greasy and £8 for fish, shocking I will never go there again

Food portion was VERY small!! No slush puppies either as they were getting a new machine

Burger was delicious but chips looked anaemic and were not well cooked. Plus I requested “Just Vinegar” but there was none at all on my chips. Disappointed.

It's a wee bit expensive,but the location isn't cheap,we had a halloumi burger and chips, burger was excellent and chips were dry and fluffy inside(nearly perfect).Will certainly come back when next in the area.

The food is diabolical! I recommend not eating at this place unless you want food poisoning. So many other better places to eat around the area don’t waste your money.

Good food, nicely packed and delievered in time.

We love this place for a quick, inexpensive meal when we can't be bothered cooking. We live nearby so food is always piping hot and ordering via the online click and collect is so simple! So far we've only had the SFC chicken, cod or the half chicken and chips, all of which have been great! Especially the SFC chicken which I would contest is better than KFC!! Our chippies have always been filled to the brim, we can never finish them all anyway and only order the standard size. Cambourne crew must have stepped up their game because I have to disagree with earlier negative reviews.

Word of warning.. This shop has big windows so they will definitely see you coming!! The food certainly looks nice in the photo (no filters) and I put the the tea spoon in for scale.. thats a large scampi and chips the mushy peas alone are £2.95 and the meal cost £16.90 ish. I'm having trouble justifying the price with the portion size. Nothing in that meal gave me the "omg that was delicious" to warrant the ridiculously High price".. if I was you I'd pop next door and get a pizza as you will most definitely get more for your money. I certainly would not recommend eating from here because after I finished my meal I was left thinking I had literally been Robbed!!

Deliver to time was initially 19.10/19.30 then it was delivered at 8pm! The hallumi burger was all over the place and I had to reassemble the whole lot! Such a shame as they can be very good

The food was good, the delivery driver was polite, however the wait time needs working on. It took over an hour for the food to arrive and I can guarantee it would’ve been quicker had I been able to go to the store itself. On the topic of portions, I’ve noticed through other reviews and experience that they are somehow becoming smaller. For how much certain items on the menu are, the portion expectations aren’t meeting the price. Something as small as a longer delivery waiting time isn’t enough to make me stop ordering from here, however I believe that the smallest improvements are appreciated by any customer. I’ll stick with collection from now on.
