After a walk around Walsingham Abbey went in to the Bull Inn, should really have walked out, with unfriendly reception, but being cold just wanted a hot drink and something to eat. Not being sure I said to my friend.. let's just have a toasted sandwich.. you can't mess that up.. the worst thing I have ever eaten toasted cheese and tomato, soft, soggy and oily.. the tomato slice was the end bits where attached to the vine.. the chips were pale grey and oily .. horrible we decided after two bites, not to risk it further as that food would make us unwell, the cook saw us getting ready to leave offered to make another. Thanks but definitely no Thanks. They also had no variety of coffee just a pot of horrible filter coffee..I might as well have just thrown £24 in the bin.. my friends toastie bus just as bad. The table next us said their meal was also not great they asked for ketchup and a big bottle was brought from the kitchen?? If you charge people for food surely you put pride into what you serve...
Popped in for Sunday lunch. It was dreadful! Cold limp veg, cold roast potatoes ,the veg looked like it had been taken off someone else's plate after they had finished with it.The only good bit was the lump of beef.
This used to be a very nice traditional pub, with a good menu - what a difference a year makes!
Bar moved, decorated in dull blue colour making the place look drab & uninviting.
Barely anything on the menu bar fish & chips!
Only 4 other diners in the place & like us were driven out due to thumping drum & bass music --- is that necessary at lunchtime?!?
Won't be going back anytime soon.
I had a take-away pizza, margarita with extra onions. Delivery was quick and pizza was delicious - I have their delivery very often and have ever been disappointed. I alternate between pizzas, burgers and kebabs- always delicious so no complaints from me.
I ordered a Gluten free, Vegan Caramel cake for en event I was holding, and what an amazing cake it was!
It sold out very quickly, and everyone who bought a slice gave very positive reviews! (Thankfully I managed to get a piece before it all sold out, and it was wonderful!)
I'm already looking forward to ordering again for my next event!
Thank you so much!
Went on line to see if they done a Sunday roast and it said yes it did but when I got there they said they had stopped doing a roast on sundays so we didn’t stop for nothing to eat but I did buy a can of 7up and it cost £1.75 this is far to much for a can of drink that I didn’t even drink in the cafe
Absolutely fantastic food, we ordered large cod and large chips to share between two and the size and quality was outstanding, we had read previous reviews so were a little bit unsure but both the food and staff were spot on, well done The Catch.
This cafe is always understaffed with long waiting times, absolutely freezing cold and the food was awful. We had vegetarian sausages, egg, chips and baked beans. The sausages were soya sausages and the worst I have ever tasted (tasted like cardboard and completely tasteless). The fried egg wasn't cooked properly. There was a small, separate bowl of baked beans and this was mostly sauce with a few baked beans at the bottom. The chips were frozen, thin and tasteless. I always shopped at Morrisons and this cafe used to be so nice and friendly with good food. What happened??
Thank you to the fantastic la bone restaurant who gave us 12 wonderful meals to North Walsham hospital.we are facing bad times ahead, and truly grateful for lifting our morale! We are a small rural hospital and sometimes forgotten, but will be playing a part in this awful time . Thank you xx
Ordered a burger and drink, took 25 minutes, narrowly beating my previous record of 23 minutes for 5 chicken selects and a drink. Easily the worst mcdonalds in history
We stayed here with our young family in January this year. My wife has reviewed the hotel below, titled “disappointing”, this was mainly due to the lack of communication prior to and following our stay.
The below response it to the managements response from her post, as I am unable to respond directly and his response was inaccurate.
Hi Richard/Chris,
Thank you for such a prompt response. I expected that I would receive a reply to a public review. As stated, I did complete the feedback and sent a follow up email and have still not received any personal correspondence from you, including in my spam, however, I have received regular spam emails from the Grove. It may be worth checking your spam box for my feedback, as I said, it was completed promptly.
As feedback was requested on multiple occasions following our stay, I hoped that it would be used productively, to improve your service. My review was factual, and you have now also demonstrated that not only are you not interested in your guests’ opinions, but you are also rude and condescending.
We received the initial confirmation on booking but no follow up emails, apart from as mentioned above, spam.
The booking email promoted the restaurant with no mention to the restaurants being closed and only stated that the breakfast included was for ‘reservations made directly through us (including our website) include breakfast as part of the nightly rate)’. The fact that the restaurant is closed for the first three weeks of January was obviously not clear on your website as that is where we booked. It would be helpful to make the booking email clearer or specific for the cottages and to include the closure of the hotel and restaurant during January, to prevent disappointment.
Clearly the bathroom has had a hard 12 months.
As mentioned on the feedback, I called the morning of our trip as we were concerned that we had not had any correspondence. The receptionist advised that there was one slot left for swimming, which we were advised to book, the Saturday or Sunday was fully booked and the other day had 2 slots. The day that we left we had to swim before 8am as it was booked out for school swimming for the rest of the day.
Anyway, once again, Thank you for your rude/sarcastic response Richard/Chris, I feel that you have confirmed to any guests questioning your ethics, that they are in fact, quite poor. As advised in the feedback, the staff that we met were friendly and welcoming, I hope that you treat them with more respect that your guests.
