We had the jacket potato with tuna mayo served with a small salad. Really enjoyed the food in this quaint ancient pub. We just had to have the apple pie and custard to finish and we were not disappointed it was superb. Highly recommend our choice in this great pub.

Thought I'd give this a place a look at with my mate after reading the reviews and our host only recommending the black lion to eat at whilst we stayed over for a few nights in the village. I can confirm the atmosphere when entering through the threshold to leaving the bar we were greeted by pure 100% misery and unhappiness

Called in for some lunch last week after getting off the train. There were a few people sitting outside in the square, so it looked promising. I walked inside, which was surprisingly empty, but on reflection, it said it all. There was a strange musty sour smell, and the carpets needed a good vacuum. Apart from that, it was very gloomy. However, I could see the sunshine in the courtyard through the bar. I was met by two people carrying their food back inside. When we went through into the yard, the smell of bins, the state of the grid, and the number of flies around the bins sent us scurrying back to the tables in the. sqaure. This should have given us a hint to leave but decided to stay. We joined a queue to get drinks and place a food order. The woman behind the bar had no smile, no personality, no social skills, and looked on all of us as if we were an inconvenience. After taking our order, she stated she was getting a bit busy and was not talking anymore orders for food. It was 13:48. Our cheese and ham toasties was not very appetising. The couple on the next table said the cheese sandwich was not very good. They said the bread was greasy, and the cheese had a musty smell. They left it. Sorry, I very rarely give negative reviews.

One of the most unwelcoming pubs we have ever been to. Why go into the hospitality industry and be so unfriendly, the beer and food was average at best.

The Bull Inn is a splendid venue for everyone, especially families. The new owners were so friendly & inviting & the pub has had a really great restoration. The pub is intimate & authentic; the tables are well spaced with a special snug area to eat in. We had a family Sunday roast which was delicious. The pork & beef were so tender with a beautiful flavour with plenty of freshly cooked vegetables. Our children cleared their plates. I am a veggie & my Mediterranean tartlet came with the full roast trimmings including stuffing & the roast potatoes are proper home cooked ones! Brilliant food, splendid surroundings & we are going back soon. People of Little Walsingham you have a gem of a pub serving exquisite pub food - support you local!

Such a shame as could be a lovely pub but the lady behind the bar has as much personality as a goldfish, rude, very rude! No hello or greeting on arrival, no thank you when paid.... Basically didn't mutter a word, just scowled. She really needs to improve dramatically on her people skills if they want customers to have a pleasure experience. Ordered food, although it never arrived, apparently the chef comes out and stands in the doorway and shouts "food" if your sat outside, unfortunately for us he didn't shout loud enough as we never saw or heard him even though it's a very small beer garden. Give this place a miss and go to the Lion round the corner in the village, much friendlier staff.

Visited Walsingham for a walk with the intention to walk around the centre afterwards, on completion of our walk we were hungry and came across The Bull Inn which looked nice visually from outside. The sign outside said dog friendly which was great! We were welcomed by the person behind the bar ordered drinks and we asked we could also eat which was fine and we were able to pick a table wherever we wanted. It was a Sunday so the menu was for Sunday roasts which we ordered. The food was delivered to the table and was great, there was a generous serving of meat with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and stuffing, we were given a large dish of vegetables which included carrots, runner beans, cabbage and broccoli. We had a pudding of apple pie and custard which was also very tasty. The price was very reasonable and it was a great little spot for a lunch on the hop. I was speaking to the staff and they said that the pub recently reopened at the beginning of May and they were steadily getting the name of the pub out there. The area generally was really quiet so in turn the pub was quiet so were other places on that particular day. Overall a nice experience.

I was a bit sceptical about staying here especially as it was my birthday! However, the very negative reviews did not happen to me. We were treated with friendly bar staff upon arrival, had a nice sandwich for lunch, then back again for an evening meal which was delicious! We had room 2 which was fine, clean and tidy nice fresh clean towels in en suite and a nice soft bed. The tv could if been slightly bigger but it was fine. Breakfast in the morning was superb, everything hot and tasty! Our breakfast server was extremely friendly and chatty. So would I come again....yes I most definitely would!

I would not stay here again. After a 1 night stay and paying over 140 for the night there really needs to be some improvement. Holes in the bathroom walls Windows full of cobwebs. Shower full of what looked like mould. Really horrible smell of old chip fat. First place ever that I have not wanted to stay for breakfast. Towels carpet and bedding was clean but really does need updating. I would not have expected to pay above 70.00. I will not be returning ☹️

Me and my family came here for dinner on Thursday. My wife had the salmon which she enjoyed thoroughly and I had the steak.. what can I say. It was amazing. The children had there own menu where they were allowed to choose from a few main options a dessert and fruit shoot which in my mind was quite reasonably priced. Kids scoffed it down and then enjoyed some strawberry ice cream. The staff were fantastic and polite. Great little pub to visit. Will definitely be coming here again.

Unsafe and dirty. My friend and I stayed here at the end of September and it was truly awful. The room was filthy and clearly hadn’t been cleaned or seen a decent vacuum in a long time with layers of black dirt, dust and grime evident on all surfaces. We’d not been informed beforehand that the kitchens were closed or even on arrival but judging by other reviews we had a lucky escape on that front. The chap who cooked breakfast (not sure where with no kitchen, it had a decent sausage but that’s the only positive) was rude and unhelpful and was not interested in why we were checking out 2 days early, turning his back and walking away with a ‘suit yourself’ comment. No evidence of any COVID safe practices in the accommodation but there was a hand sanitizer as you walked in to the bar. They don’t serve coffee in the bar area and accommodation is up a narrow, dark staircase so difficult for anyone with suitcases or mobility issues. Not one to ever return to especially as they simply ignored a formal complaint.

The first time the uninterested barman (he was more interested in talking to his friend) took our order only to come back much later to tell us they had not got what we had ordered. The second time we asked if they had got what we wanted, again uninterested, he went to ask but after about 10 mins he had not returned . So we left for another pub.At no time was the pub busy about 4 other people, and we were there for early lunch. No interest in customers!!!! No customers!!!!

Called in for lunch after a walk round the area. Not busy at all - one couple already waiting for food and then we ordered. Another couple who came in after us and ordered food actually got theirs before we did, and it took 45 mins for us to get ours. It was lovely and freshly prepared but we were hungry and it would have been better if it had arrived a little faster. Not sure what it would be like if it was busy.

This is an old style Inn that has loads of character. There is plenty of outdoor seating if the weather permits. Being an old premises, you need to watch your step since there are different floor levels. The service was good from the friendly staff.

A lovely historical and quirky pub, we were warmly welcomed and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a lovely lasagne, salad and garlic bread. Beer was good too. Had a lovely warm feel to the place, would definitely return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stuffed mushrooms followed by homemade lasagne. Full marks to the chef. The issue was with the drinks. Considering this is a pub it seemed strange that three out of the 6 taps were not working at the bar, there was no red wine when we arrived (I think the barman had to go out to get some) and there was no lime cordial for a lime and soda. Once the operational side of the pub gets going it will be a quirky place to go and eat. The building is ancient, with visible wattle and daub walls inside.

Took dad out for lunch and decided to go to a pub I'd driven passed many times but never called in.Arrived at about 11:45 and went in - the pub and bar was empty (but people were out the back talking and the smell from the kitchen was inviting) but sat down and grabbed a menu and decided that as we weren't in a hurry, it didn't matter. After a few minutes a young lad came out, and looked surprised to see us. He asked how we got in, and I said thru' the door, and he went to check as if I'd beamed down from the Enterprise. He said we don't open til 12, so I said we'd wait, but that wasn't acceptable.Shame really, and I'll continue to drive passed in the future, or go to the Black Lion, which was far more welcoming

Really nice cosy pub with friendly staff and a warm village atmosphere! Not too crowded and really good for meeting with some mates for drinks.

Lovely from the outside as it is situated amid the old buildings in the centre of Walsingham but very shabby on the inside. My husband said the beer was fine but I would not want to eat there. To be honest it did not look clean. Disappointing as it could be really lovely.

Situated on the square near the shrine this pub was an excellent choice for lunch when our cycling group passed through. 14 of us arrived unannounced and received a very welcoming service. We sat in the sun at the front and had excellent lunch sandwiches and snacks. The beer was in good condition and we would recommend it to any one passing through this historic village.

Didn't have any food here so can't comment, Had a couple of drinks prices a little expensive but service was good and friendly There's mooring outside which is £10 but £5 redeamable if you order food. Would recommend this pub especially if you boating

Not a lot of choice, too fancy food not cooked brilliantly, over priced. The pub needs to serve more traditional pub fare. Service not great, we were forgotten about on numerous occasions during our sitting.

We know this part of Norfolk very well as a holiday spot. We have been coming to the Victoria on and off for years. It is now a hotel that serves lunch and dinner NOT a pub. We booked Sunday dinner and I was happy to find that despite an 8pm. table there was still roast beef available. It was delicious 😋! Good portion of medium rare sirloin accompanied by crispy roast potatoes, a fine Yorkshire pudding, a good assortment of vegetables and cauliflower cheese. A few years back I rated a bunch of places local to home and I think the Victoria would have only been beaten by Cliveden We did have room for pudding and thank goodness we did. The rice pudding was spectacular! Unusual but inspirational flavours. The staff were happy and attentive. We took our well behaved dog and saw a couple of others in the restaurant. We chose to come here as it’s dog friendly. Perhaps ask for a quiet table if you’d prefer not to be around dogs when you eat. Overall highly recommended and excellent value. Thanks all.
