The best restaurants in North Hertfordshire East of England

We were going to a party nearby and opted to stay over at The Bull, for a Village Pub with rooms, it is very clean and comfortable with ample parking. The staff in the pub were warm and welcoming, the “on site chip shop” meant we could have a quick bite before heading to the party and they kindly ordered a cab and provided the number to contact for the cab back. Breakfast was very good and served with a smile. This is just what it says on the tin, with the addition of friendly staff.

We absolutely love Esquires Coffee in Hitchin - we go every Sunday while our daughter is at drama school. The coffee is just perfect (especially the caramel latte), and the regular cup size is generous. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Never again, ordered a takeaway for family over £60 told it would be an hour which turned out to be over 2 hours, kept telling us when we rang that it was around the corner (it wasn't) cold when it arrived. Vegatarian dish had chicken in it. Promised a, refund which we never got.

Food and service here always excellent however Sophia was amazing. She recommended some of the new items on the menu and was also lovely chatting to our granddaughter.

I am extremely disappointed with the service of Bodillys this evening. When ordering, a 60 minute delivery time was advertised. After 2 hours I contacted, and was told that they simply cannot help it as they had orders from many different food delivery services. They are unable to meet the demand and yet continued to take orders all evening. I’m sure I was not the only one let down this evening. Truly, unacceptable.

Used to be great. Decided to go again and what a mistake. Food inedible. Fish cooked in stale oil. Staff surly and it didn’t look very clean, Hope they didn’t overcharge me and good advice from others to check your bank statement. So many great places to eat in Baldock but this is no longer one of them.

Great shop start by saying staff are polite friendly at Royston, went in for lunch today Friday, beautiful haddock and decent portion, same when have the chicken proper potions, better than the Camborne shop,

The advertised wi - fi didn't exist Very noisy room needs double glazing , over priced , desperately needs redecorating, I will definitely not return

I order at least once per week from here for my elderly relative. The order wasn’t delivered and when I called to enquire, firstly the girl hang up on me and then I received a second call from someone who said it wasn’t their problem and denied having any details for the driver. They are only interested in taking your money and not interested in customer service. They have an appalling attitude and I would give this shop a miss at any costs. Appalling and disgusting attitude from their staff

First time having breakfast here. Very good espresso and friendly service in a pleasant cafe area. Very disappointing scrambled egg on toast. Once slice of cold toast (which made it chewy) with a decidedly rubbery, solid lump of scrambled egg. It was lukewarm and was not freshly made; I suspect it had been done in the microwave and left to congeal. Not sure what eggs were used, but soft, warm and yellowy it was not! It was quite orangey and had no taste of eggs and a rubbery texture. Not a £5 meal; I could definitely have got something much tastier for less in town...Not a cafe to be recommended for food.

Visited for coffee with our grandchildren. Ordered two latte coffees after twenty minutes told coffee machine not working given two instant coffees no refund. Place filthy litter on floor table dirty. Service awful
