Great service by Izzy so attentive. GF options explained well. GF pizza base was very nice. Lovely evening, great decor.

Amazing pizza! We travelled 20 mins to come here and it was definitely worth it. Friendly and quick service. Would recommend booking a table as it can get busy. Nice vibes inside too. Worth a visit!

Food disappointing, not for the first time. Mains not cheap and the quality and portions are poor. Whetherspoons doing similar for about half the price. It would be 2 stars for food but the friendly service and great decor bump it up to 3 stars

Wow wow wow. Our first visit to this establishment as we were camping nearby. The staff were lovely, the atmosphere fantastic everywhere you ,looked there is something to see. This was a former hospital in the 17th century then in later life a post office. The food is well priced you don’t need to sell a body part to enjoy a meal here. The rotisserie chicken roast was spectacularly huge & the cauliflower cheese was nearly as good as mine.very cheesy though.yum. We were so full we declined a desert. I had a lovely 3.7 ale very moorish just wish I had t been driving or I’d have had many more of them. We will return well done all.

We arrived at the Jolly Post and hadn't booked where the Manager was so helpful and organised a table for the four of us. We must say we had a lovely meal and the service we received was great so well done Alanis as you are a credit to the Jolly Postie.

Upon entering we were greeted by the friendliest waitress I've met in years. She genuinely wanted us to have a good time. It's a brilliantly constructed pub with lots of enclosures within the main room. Drinks were ordered and then food which both came in a timely manner. The pie was proper and very tasty indeed. Thank you so much for a lovely lunch, I only wish we lived closer. If we are near we will call again.

Was a quiz night. Just didn't know before or we would have come early enough to join in. Sat at our assigned table then we're forgotten after 15 mins I approached the bar to order drinks and food. Was apologised too.someone came to take the orders. OUR 1ST ROUND OF SOFT DRINKS WERE FREE. As an apology. Food came shortly after but no check back. Didn't order desserts as we were forgotten about again. Paid at till point on way out. Didn't tip. Eaten in Royston 4 times since BUT NOT THERE.

We visited here, a party of eight, for Sunday lunch and it was just lovely! We sat in a cosily lit area at the far of the restaurant. It was so relaxed and comfortable. The service was truly fabulous, despite it being very busy. We were served by a delightful boy, Harry, who was so attentive throughout. He was so polite, professional and friendly and was helpfulness itself! A great selection on the menu, something to suit everyone's palate and the food was so tasty... faultless. All in all, a lovely afternoon! Will definitely be visiting here again very soon!

Absolutely brilliant pub! The staff made our dog welcome. The food is fantastic with clean beer and friendly service. We would highly recommend this to everyone.

Walked in and went to look for a suitable table as myself and a colleague were supporting a person with sight Impairment. A staff member came straight over and seated us away in a quieter low lit area. Not ideal for the person whom we were with. Another staff member came over to get our order and said that she was not sure how long the food would be as they had a booking for 14 people in at the same time. This was so annoying as if the first staff member had mentioned this we would have gone elsewhere. Ordered the jacket potato which came with a stacked salad which was nice. However the potato was disappointing and the tuna mayonnaise lacked moisture.

We booked a meal for Sunday, we’ve been here a few times before and loved the food so did the children, but yesterday we opted for a roast dinner, they wasn’t great, the potatoes skin outside was rock hard, the stuffing was like a stone, the Yorkshires were absolutely terribly small, and there was barely any veg, everything felt like it was pre cooked and then microwaved which is why it was all hard. My husband had the beef which was quite fatty, he complained and had he’s dinner replaced with a rotisserie chicken and chips which was way better. All the food is perfect just steer clear of the microwaved roast dinners.

The food was lovely as we're the staff. The reason for the 3 star service as we were disappointed with the wait for the food and the fact that we didn't get to eat altogether. We asked twice where our dinner was, and they just kept saying not much longer. We come to celebrate my nephews birthday and 4 meals come first, we finished them then the remainder 3 came. So yes, this is what I meant by we never ate with each other. We had ribs and gammon, which was lovely, and have no faults. The kids' portion size is pretty small. My daughter isn't a big eater, but she finished the mac and cheese and then continued to say she was still hungry, so I shared my food with her. The atmosphere was lovely and was a clean and tidy place. The royal mail van inside was great! We will return and would highly recommend it. We just assume the chef was overwhelmed that day with orders.

Really delicious fresh food! Definitely a big improvement since the last time we were here a couple of years ago. Our server (Alanis) was so lovely and made great recommendations. Will definitely be back!

One star is just because of the service we got. Felt a sense of "you seem lost" kind of judgemental attitude. And it not just from one person who was attending us. Apart from one guy, it was general behaviour. At first we thought it might be because we had a toddler with us & she was having a tantrum when we walked in. But slowly realised it had nothing to do with it. Maybe we were the "wrong kind" of people they expect who would walk into that place. Would have happily given 5star for the food, but the experience ruined it for us.

Was recommended this place by a friend, and it didn’t disappoint, Emilie was amazing all night. As were all the other staff members. Very attentive. Will definelty visit again. Props to Emilie for the outstanding service. Making out anniversary so special

We had a lovely meal for my friends birthday. The manager Jason was lovely as always but our waitress Georgia was amazing, she was smiley, friendly and chatty. Definitely the best service I've received in awhile.

Five out of five. Georgia was amazing, very quick and efficient. Very entertaining, was able to cope with my allergies and needs. Wonderful service all round.

Very enjoyable evening at Jolly Postie. Pizzas and burgers all round for a table of 6. I had a Californian beef burger and I can honestly say it's was the best burger I've had in years, very tasty and well presented. Service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive - we had a trainee waiter and he was well mannered and friendly. The only negative I have was the music in the venue. For me it was too loud for what is primarily a restaurant, and even though it was a Saturday night with people drinking at the bar and outside I think the music levels should be set to suit diners firstly. Other than that a great experience and I will definitely return.

After a very long day in Cambridge we stumbled across The Jolly Postie on our way back to our air bnb. The staff were so friendly and accommodating of our slightly fussy children! A great gluten free menu and great atmosphere, loved the decor too! If visiting you must try the chicken wings, amazing! Would definitely return if we come this way again.

Visited on a busy evening with new staff on board . Lots of misunderstandings took place but a star of a manager was there to put things right . He was attentive to his new staff when they made a mistake (we have all been new ) . He went the extra mile when items on the menu were not available conjuring up something that gave me a dish to enjoy . Thank you Jason ? and his team .

We had a lovely visit today. Excellent service with no waiting time and was especially impressed with the children's meals. An excellent selection, great value for money and really high quality food. The decor is really interesting too. Will definitely be returning when we are next in Royston.

Had a meal today steak and ale pie it was rock hard so sent back and had praw cocktail then ask for bill and was charged 5.50 for half of pint of San miguel place has gone gone down in my estimation.

This is a lovely place for a family meal. There is plenty to choose from on the menu and the prices are very reasonable. The Kid's menu is extremely good value. This is the third time we have eaten here, and it never disappoints. Staff are very friendly.

I love the atmosphere at the Postie. A warm welcome from the manager and excellent table service. Our waitress, Izzy , was lovely. She was warm and friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The Hunters chicken was tasty and the sticky toffee pudding was so good 😋

Server made our day. Grace was friendly approachable and attentive. The food was great and reasonably priced. The manageress squeezed us in and we had a great time. We are both professional entertainers from London and our server both met and exceeded our high expectations. Thank you all for an amazing experience.

Visited the jolly postie with family yesterday. As always, food delicious, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. My daughter's burger was changed (she didn't realise it had sauce) no problem. A member of the group has a food allergy, they made sure they understood what the issue was.Highly recommend.

Fantastic little find on way home. The 4.3 stars is a surprise as the food was very good quality, very yummy (we had Sunday roast) and very reasonably priced (under £40 for two soft drinks and roasts). Had we had more time we would have stayed for dessert. It’s very quirky and different from most eateries which adds to the experience. Highly recommend.

Last min stop for dinner on way home from Norfolk Called ahead to ensure we could take our little dog in with us Very pleasant meal and waitress Grace was lovely Very friendly and accommodating even brought our little dog a bowl of water and some snacks. Its a very nice venue and the food is nice, service is quick and nothing is too much trouble if you want something slightly different. The waitress who served us (Imogen) was so nice, friendly and very professional. She is an asset to the Jolly Postie and any future employers. We will be back :)

Love coming to the postie but unfortunately this fathers day was a disappointment! Had a table booked for mid-day and was told it was until 2 as they was going to be very busy, we was still waiting at 1.30 for our meal. Despite the efforts and great service from Grace and an explanation and apology from the assistant manager including an offer of free drinks and dessert it did sour the occasion, apparently the roast dinners are all pre prepped and because some of our order was non roast it took longer, but to wait 90 minutes is not acceptable especially when we see desserts being handed out to groups that arrived long after us. On the plus side the food was lovely when it arrived but after waiting so long our enthusiasm had diminished somewhat., despite all this we will continue with the postie but in terms of special occasions it seems like they get overwhelmed and will think twice. Maybe should be pointed out that if you have anything other than a roast it will take longer to wait .

Had to stop on our way through Royston for lunch. Stumbled across the Jolly Postman. We had our dog and he was welcomed with open arms and our server Grace was a delight.

Came a long way from witham because I heard good things about this place, arrived here to an absolutely amazing waiter called Jason who handled me and my friends with warmness, familiarity and politeness, food cost was average and nice priced, service was fast and food was unreal, jason even went above and beyond to bring our food out to us even tho they don't do outside table service, dude was an absolute legend will definitely be coming back! Thanks again Jason......(give him a raise)!

I shared a rotisserie chicken and we were so impressed with how much flavour there was in the chicken. My husband particularly loved the peri peri sauce too. Quirky decorations with a lovely atmosphere, definitely recommend it.

Decided last minute to go out for lunch with our 3 children ! We chose the jolly postie as my wife had been last week and was really impressed , I personally hadn’t been for a couple of years , but can safely say I too was very impressed Although they were fully booked inside they said we could grab a seat outside We were served promptly and the food was great ! Will definitely be back again soon and will be recommending to friends

Great family weekday treat for our family. We were greateed by our waitress (Grace) who was cheerful, helpful and pleasant. She waited patiently whilst our son explained what he wanted for his dinner and then later whilst he chose his desert. Great place to take your family for something to eat and drink

Very enjoyable catch up with my grand daughter - we try and meet up regularly and this is our favourite we almost always have Hunters Chicken and today it was even better than it usually is!

I couldn't manage a dessert as the main was so large don't managed to eat it all the gammon steak had all the trimmings, the plate was so big I had to look twice.

Came in with my friend for Sunday lunch. As a former pub cook myself, I do have high standards (my family would say I'm fussy!) Service was friendly and quick, food was really good, lovely and warm. The post office theme is great and the place feels lively and cosy at the same time. We have been to the Postie many times and can honestly say that the staff have always been so friendly and helpful. We also had a lovely experience Valentine’s Day with live music, making the evening feel very special. So pleased to have this little gem in Royston. Thank you to all the Postie Team!!

We couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate my Sons 21st Birthday! There were 25 of us and everyones meals came out at the same time. Nothing was wrong or forgotten. The staff were amazing too and couldn't do enough for us. Thank you to all the Team for making this special night an amazing one. We will definitely be back!

Lovely place for families or groups of friends. The food tastes great and is good value. The atmosphere is always warm and inviting. But the best thing of all is the staff, friendly efficient service every time we visit. The manager took our wine off the bill last time because we had to wait for clean glasses when it was busy, we hadn't even noticed it was taking longer than usual. All the little things mount up to make this a local gem.

The menu had bin changed didn’t quite like most on the menu my meal was hunters chicken with melted cheese chips and coleslaw but the coleslaw was disgusting but my partner ate it to b poilte coleslaw shood b with mayo but taste like made with vinegar yuck Hubert’ chicken shood b with chips or veg not coleslaw my partner had the gammon he enjoys it no probs we had ice cream for after in a cone lovely wi to chocolate sauce saucy but nice partner had a coffee after quite small only cup saucer and we had 2 cold drinks I had pineapple juice and coke so altogether £43 not bad prices the prices no probs it wa just most on the menus so I give 9 out of 10 staff kind

Called in, it was very busy but the waitress managed to find us a table. Ordered a roast which came with a good amount of brisket but was a bit lacking in vegetables. The carrots were also a little too al dente for my liking. However it was very nice. The staff attentive and good atmosphere.

Went for a birthday treat and my free bottle of birthday bubbly. We were impressed with the new menu, the burgers were great !! Our server was Emilie who was excellent and definitely provided service with a smile 😊 👍

we visited the Postie on Wednesday evening, the staff and management were exceptional, also the chefs. We will certainly be visiting again, John and Pauline.

On way home to baldock past royston and popped in for dinner. We will definitely be back, the service was superb, Jason and Slanis were great hosts. I had the ribs and they fell off the bone my son had a detroit burger and demolished it and my partner went for the goats cheese pasta. We had a side of korean wings. All of which was superb the best meal out i have had in a very long time

Had a fantastic meal here this evening. Our meals were; ribs, goats cheese pasta and buttermilk burger and they were all delicious. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and empty plates all round. All the staff were so friendly too. Definitely will be going back!

Sadly ordered Grilled Peaches with ham and salad. Sadly a bowl with salad leaves a few canned peach slices not grilled and 1 small piece of ham with salad leaves. For £14.95 a very dissatisfied customer. There were 6 of us so really disappointed.

Always a tasty and good sized meal here. We had two people with different food intolerances at the table and our waitress, Evie, made sure we were well informed and well taken care of. Plenty of gluten free options and vegetarian options. My mother-in-law's chilli intolerance was catered for easily with a couple of tweaks.

My recent visit to Jolly Postie in Royston left me absolutely delighted. Accompanied by my sister, we were captivated by the adorable and fun aesthetic of the place. What sets this place apart is the clever use of a post office van as a dining area, adding a unique touch to the experience whilst commemorating on longevity and history of the post office For our lunch, we opted for the goats cheese pizza, which was an absolute delight. The flavours were rich and satisfying, making each bite a pleasure. We also indulged in some perfectly cooked fries and a selection of beverages, rounding out our meal perfectly. The staff at Jolly Postie were friendly, checking in to see how our meal went, which I always appreciate. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by Jolly Postie for a meal that combines great food with a charming atmosphere.

We had the most fantastic meal tonight. The nachos were excellent, but the new dish of goats pasta was phenomenal. Tasted absolutely lovely. The service was fantasic, the waitress was brilliant. Really friendly, really knowledgeable and gave fantastic service. Gutted we didn't catch her name, but she wore glasses and long dark hair.

Waitress was excellent but the food was dreadful . We sat down at 6 pm to be told many things on menu were not available including their signature rotisserie chicken , which immediately cancelled several items off the menu. No coleslaw available ! We were a group of 14 of all ages . Two chose burgers , soooo overcooked it made you wonder how many times the burgers might have been reheated . One chose ribs which they said was good . I had fish and chips but they gave me 2 small pieces because they were out of the larger fish normally served. The batter looked crispy but was gloopy inside , so I picked off the batter to only eat the fish . The drinks were good , but we all said how disappointed we were with the food .
