The best restaurants in North Hertfordshire East of England

I was on my way from Cambridge and had not had any lunch so I decided to stop at McDonalds on the edge of Royston. Back in the day there used to be a Little Chef here but that is long gone. Like all McDonalds they have the touch screens to order your food from however you can also go to the counter and order there. I did not have long to wait from placing my order to it being ready and I took a seat and had my meal. It filled a hole and soon I was ready to carry on my journey,

Once again Masala have knocked it out of the park!! Great food and service! Delivered well within the time specified! I cannot fault them! Never had a bad meal! Delicious!!😋😋😋👍

Disappointed Filthy tables had wipe with anti bac staff not interested Ended up taking lunch to eat outside Why isn't it cleaned can tell it is never daily cleaned let alone deep clean Bins for cups etc overflowing notice in mornings staff no using gloves to make bacon rolls etc taking money with same hands yuk However It's very well priced nice coffee as all greggs to take away but sitting in there no thx would be so easy to keep.it clean too

Lovely staff but truly horrible food. It pains me to waste food but a couple of the dishes (watery chicken satay, grey beef in black pepper sauce) were honestly inedible and we had to throw them away. No meat on the capital ribs, and also I ordered Singapore noodles and was given a chow mein (also lacking in flavour). The prawns were the only decent thing but I resent having spent £30 only to enjoy a starter. Stomach ache set in almost immediately.

I ordered nuggets and chicken royal meal the food was hot and yummy and staff is really good I enjoyed my food

We had our son's birthday pizza and milkshakes here for a party of 16 as part of the golf bundle package. It was excellent. The staff were super-helpful, the food was spot on and the location is great. Very good value too. Highly recommended.

Every time I order from here, the requested delivery time is never followed - it always comes far too early. Just had my order delivered 20 minutes before the time I requested, which is no good because half the family aren't home! This has happened so many times that I have now felt compelled to write a review. Obviously they deliver when it suits them rather than the customer.

Tuesday 30th of July. First of all all i had a nightmare ordering on there website so i phoned the Hitchin branch. 3 times I stated i wanted 2 for Tuesday Pepperoni feasts. To receive 1 pepperoni feast and 1 margarita and I believe I was overcharged £3 including delivery charge from price stated in website. Phoned up and complained the next day has exactly the same last who took my order, it was only after i said i would take it further that she said i would take it further she assured me I would get my next order free. I phoned for that yesterday 3rd August to get a gentleman. I it was hard work getting convincing him they owed me a free order. He even had to phone me back because he got got details wrong. I got 1 free pizza for the one that was wrong, I know very little recompense for the aggravation they have caused. Complained on there website again yesterday 3rd August more or less what I have wrote here to be given a robotic answer by Shona G glad you enjoyed are 2 for Tuesday. I can't even reply email just gets sent back. Usually i collect but i am in town looking after a friend's dog, I have had no problems before but with exception of the drivers who where both polite a pleasant the rest of the experience beyond bad meaning clearly loyalty means nothing to this company, case of pay peanuts you get monkeys. Imbeciles!!!. Avoid!! This place looks the plaque.

The McDonalds in Hitchin is opposite the B&M Store and a very short walk from the railway station. I visited at a lunch time and it was quite busy with students from the local college and people coming to get some lunch. Like virtually all McDonalds nowadays they have the touch screens you can use to place your order for food. You have to pay by card for these. I did not have long to wait for my order to be ready and I took a seat and ate my food which was really tasty. They have free wifi and it is a good signal so you can check messages, stream music or watch something on your phone. The restaurant was clean and as people were leaving the tables were quickly being cleared ready for the next customers.

I have been here two or three times in the last 6 / 8 weeks. I found the café clean with very helpful staff to a disabled person. The food was hot and very well cooked and arrived in good time. I can not complain at all. The reviews I read must have been under different management, worth a second try ?

Ordered a steak slice and delighted to report that no cows were harmed in the making of this lava hot molten liquid brown pie.

Terrible service. the person on the phone who claimed to be the owner had a very bad command of english and was very rude, i pointed out to him that i could hardly hear him on the phone that made things worse, then he just started shouting his head off obscenities most of it i couldnt understand

So delicious! My 8 year old says it’s better than McDonald’s - ultimate praise from him!
