Awful, underdone & overdone food on same plate. The breakfast was inedible. Very disappointing. Fried eggs with hard centre

Having had a miserable experience some years ago we decided to give Morrisons Cafe another try. I have to say that things are no better. The cups this time were slightly cleaner but the teapots were disgusting. Our breakfast was basic and tasteless. It's like they don't really want customers. The staff are friendly enough but I feel that they don't want to be there either. I don't think there will be a third visit.

Worst breakfast in my entire life. I can't believe Morrisons Letchworth cafe is capable of preparing such a rubbish food to serve to their customers.

Absolute chaos . All the tables were grubby as were the utensils. Food stacked on server getting cold whilst staff did not know what order was whose. I had ordered food for 3 but asked for a refund almost immediately as did not want cold food in a dirty environment Really disappointing as this used to be such a nice place .

You know what you're going to get here, it's cheap so don't expect much. The breakfasts were almost cold, I told the waitress and was told it was because the plates were still waiting on the toast before being brought out. I suggested the toast be put on first next time. It's not very nice food to be fair. The tea was ok, nice and hot too. About £14 for two breakfasts and two pots of tea but not a pleasant experience.

Totally awful food packet mashed potato. Overcooked frozen vegetables, packet frozen foods served as fresh ,cutlery was filthy, service staff rude, and argued repeatedly with myself and my dining partner about what we had ordered. No horseradish. Charged for sachets of sauces. Dessert also microwaved, not nice, undercooked . Please find somewhere else until the standard's improve

The food is good quality, but it takes forever to arrive and sometimes the order can be wrong. Great probably for self service coffee, sandwiches and drinks. Food takes ages to come and is underportioned. For the same price you can have a quick hearty meal at any pub or restaurant. I ordered mushy peas, but got garden and look at the small portion of chips you get for £7. I've been to a fair few morrisons cafes around the county, this is the worst.

We have eaten here three times now for breakfast. The first time was several months ago and we were impressed with the offer available. The food was not great but acceptable, the tables regularly cleared and the environment clean. On the strength of this we went a second time some 2/3 months later. My goodness what a shambles. They were clearly short staffed and the food once we got it was not great. Tables were laden with dirty crockery and the atmosphere was one of chaos. We thought this must be a blip so we tried again about 3/4 weeks ago. If anything it was worse. Complete chaos. The food was overcooked and cold and my order of boiled eggs produced two bullets which I had to eat with a knife and fork because they do not supply teaspoons. Dirty crockery everywhere and the drinks machine was producing cold drinks. Why we ask do you not employ a saturday student to at least clear and wait on tables. Why do you insist on having this vast menu which the kitchen cannot cope with? It is quite ridiculous and putting my comedy hat on the whole scenario was so unbelievable that it was laughable. Come on Morrisons several people wanted to use the restaurant and it could do a roaring trade. Why don't you do something about it. Please cease to dish up boiled egg and soldiers that are bullet hard and have to be eaten with a knife and fork or teach the staff to boil for max 4 minutes and get some teaspoons.

First and last time of eating here. Where to start. Fairly pleasant lady on the till but it all went downhill from there. We ordered a small and large breakfast and an extra portion of mushrooms. Waited a fair while for the food. Quite a few people were asking for refunds as they had waited so long for food. The table was filthy and so was the cutlery and crockery. I found at least 10 mugs that needed bleaching. When the food arrived I asked where the extra portion of mushrooms was and was pointed to 1 small solitary mushroom on my plate. I paid 90p for it! The bacon was so thin you could see through it. It was more like poor quality ham. It was all cold as the food had been sitting on the counter for ages due to lack of staff. The egg was ok. All in all poor value for money. I would not darken it's doorsteps again.

Short answer save yourself a lot of stress stay away.its been going down hill for the last few weeks, today was the final straw. Sat morning one person cooking, one serving. After waiting 30 min with two children, no food the two staff were well stressed I asked to see the manager, who's first statement was iam not the restaurant manager! When I explained that two staff was not enough, she said they had staff of sick . When I suggested she got some more in to cover, not possible was her reply, I know Morrisons are not taking on any new staff! And so we went round and round. She did at one point, ask me to step back so the conversation continued three meters apart. She offered and I accepted a full refund. Only two clean cups both stained. Hot water dispenser out of order (for months) Both coffee machines only dispensing less than one cup. Cutterlery strained and sticking Won't be going back to the restaurant of the shop, which is a pity because we like morrisons, but plenty of other super markets.

Well, I wish I had looked on here before going to Morrison’s cafe in Letchworth for breakfast yesterday! It was appalling from start to finish! Don’t go there! Computer order not working so waited half an hour for our food. Only three other tables were in the cafe so not busy. Dirty cutlery. Dirty teapots. Dirty crockery. Surly, unhelpful cafe worker who was not interested or aware that there was a problem even when we explained. Surly, unhelpful ‘manageress’ who seemed to have no understanding of what we were saying. I hope someone reads these reviews and makes sure things improve at this establishment.

Thought I would pop into Morrison’s for a quick bite to eat, what a complete disaster, £7:99 for a plate of pigs swill, the cook must have trained at Chernobyl. Let’s start by the good bits, the cup of tea was ok, apart from the first cup I picked up that was still unclean, but that’s it, now for the super duper big breakfast. The sausages were burned, hardly recognisable, the black sausage was so crisp you could not cut it with a knife, literally it was solid, the fried bread looked liked it had been cooked several times, mushrooms where like frisbee’s and to cap it all the cook, if you can call her that forgot the fried egg, all this for £7:99 the tea was extra at 99p, when I complained about the missing egg the lady supposedly cooking just said oops sorry and walked away. Now if you want to complain to the store manager we’ll they are like chickens teeth, non existent, Morrison’s must trainer their managers not to meet the public but leave it to the poor sop in customer services, ( no help whatsoever) now unless you are into burn offerings that resemble the after effects of the Chernobyl disaster give this place a very very wide berth, there are plenty of good cafes and restaurants in Letchworth, I just wish I had use one.

I took my girlfriend here on Saturday 31st July as it used to be very very good. I was left embarrassed. I ordered using the online system via the QR code at the table, where I found you can’t choose to have brown bread with your breakfast, it has to be white - unless you choose no bread and purchase brown toast for an extra fee. I went to the counter to order to avoid this but the woman fumbled through a speech which confused me to a point where I went back to my phone to order. They also don’t swap out bits for other bits now. I wanted an extra hash brown for my girlfriend who’s small breakfast didn’t include one, but wasn’t allowed to swap my mushrooms for it and was advised to purchase an extra one. I always used to swap my mushrooms for a hash brown! I ordered a small and large cooked breakfast, a mocha, and a premium Yorkshire tea (10p more than standard tea). After paying on my phone with Apple Pay it instructed me to get up and get my own drinks via the machines near the counter. There were quite a few mugs on the shelf, ALL of which were dirty either inside, outside, or both. Before I could ask for a clean mug, a woman brought over a fresh clean batch of mugs. I went through half of them and they were dirty! After opting for paper cups I moved on to the tea machine which had cheap speciality teabags but no normal or premium Yorkshire teas. I asked the woman and she said the teabags are all in the metal teapots on the rack. I asked which ones were which and she said they were all the same. I told her I ordered Yorkshire Gold and she walked off for a moment and came back asking me how much I paid for it, giving me the difference back from the till. I got the tea and coffee (no chocolate dusting like on the photo) and waited a little longer than I liked for our breakfasts to arrive. I couldn’t tell my coffee was a mocha, I don’t know if it actually had any chocolate in it at all from the machine. When our breakfasts came I noticed the beans were splashed all over the outside of their little bowls so we couldn’t pour them over our food without getting our hands dirty. I had to get back up and get us some cutlery, which was difficult as I had to hunt through the knives and forks to find a clean looking pair. The first knife I put my hand on was sticky!! We sacrificed eating with knives at all. The toast was nice, albeit white when I would’ve had brown, although two of our three butter chunks had melted all over their foil covers where they’d been put next to hot food on our plates, so again we got greasy fingers. By this point I was very disgruntled, and after eating one of my sausages I moved on to the egg. I broke the yolk to find they weren’t very runny, and just as I realised I definitely needed a knife to eat it I noticed some egg shell stuck to the white. This was breaking point, so I got up and walked back again to the counter and asked as politely as possible for a refund. I started listing all the reasons I thought I was entitled to my money back, and after no more than ten seconds she turned and walked away into the kitchen without saying a word, whilst I was still talking. I laughed to myself in disbelief. A minute later someone else came from the kitchen and asked why I wanted a refund, and again interrupting me half way through turned to the original lady and said they needed to get the manager, then told me to sit back down. A few minutes later I saw who I assumed was the manger, looking for us, I guess not knowing which table number we were sat at or where table 11 was. I flagged her down, and with the original lady telling her she should only refund me for one of the breakfasts, the manager after hearing all my reasons agreed fo refund the whole transaction. It took her a while to decide whether or not to give me cash from the till or to refund me via contactless Apple Pay on my phone. I’m not even sure this works for refunds and 24 a potential 72 hours later, I don’t have my refund yet…

Visited and on entry ignored by staff. Approached a staff member as no one spoke to us and said I was coeliac and could they cater for me. At this point the server quoted the disclaimer at me about small kitchen, not able to guarantee etc. I was told they had gluten free bread but I couldn’t have most of the fillings. I asked if they had a separate toaster for gluten free and they said no. So we left. Disappointing service. The cafe opposite were so much more welcoming and had a separate gf toaster.
