I can comment on the delivery, as I always go there, order my pizza and get the best deal

Order a pizza at 7pm and at 8:40pm still waiting for a delivery... Someone should take over management there.

Ordered from here 3 times. 1st order 20mins late, Pizzas not exactly hot. 2nd order 10mins late, slightly better. 3rd order late, missing item, and when told will be priority and will be within 20mins. 40 mins later they finally deliver the item that was missing. And NO actual responsibility taken other than "sorry". No reason why the driver was 40mins late. No reason why the food forgotten about. This store int he chain needs a manager and if they have one, they need to wake up and do some work instead of whatever it is they are doing as it's clearly not management.

Would not recommend!! To start, we ordered online and it said on the website it had been delivered. When we called the store, I was met by a rude colleague who said the delivery driver had left and would be 15minutes. 40 minutes later we still have not received our food. After 50 minutes the food arrived and was the wrong order. We called the store to politely sort it and once again was met by a rude colleague who said there was nothing to do other than leave a review and then hung up when we began to complain. Food was not good quality and awful customer service.

These pizzas are so delicious! We always buy from Papa Johns when wanting pizza. Although we started to collect ourselves since the delivery app says already delivered when it wasn’t quite a few times that happened.

I placed my order at 19:14. At 20:03 I phoned to find out where my order was because the tracker showed it had been delivered. I was told it would be with me in 2 to 5 minutes. At 20:18 I phoned again to find out where my order was. I was told it would be with me in 5 or 6 minutes. At 20:30 I phoned once more. After 9 minutes of being on hold, I was finally told the truth - that the driver had delivered my order to the wrong house! The branch tried telling me that it had been delivered earlier but that the customer had only just phoned (after 30-odd minutes!) to say their delivery was wrong...but one bite of the pizza I had ordered would leave most people crying from the amount of chilli on it, so I very much doubt that I had been told the truth - if you weren't expecting a fiercely hot pizza, you would have known you'd been given the wrong one from the first mouthful. Furthermore, my instructions to the driver were extremely detailed with regards to how to identify my house, so there was no way he could have gone to the wrong address unless he completely ignored the notes on the order. I was guaranteed a completely fresh order would be with me within 30 minutes. At 21:15 I phoned yet again. I was told the order would be with me very soon. At 21:17 the order finally arrived - though this was still later than the 30 minutes I had been guaranteed. I have been a regular customer of this branch for many years but tonight's experience has been the worst ever. I doubt if I will order again for a long time - certainly not until the reviews of this branch by other customers have improved dramatically.

Ordered for specific time for a group, now half an hour late, no sign of driver and they are not answering the phone. Not good, won’t be ordering again

Took over 1 hour to arrive, and it was just warm. Phoned the shop who offered nothing and the driver also lied about when it was delivered. Won’t be using them again.

The past few times getting delivery from here they mark on the app that it's been delivered about half hour before it actually is and we've been left waiting over an hour and a half for a delivery from ordering. Can call the store but they're not very helpful at actually knowing where there drivers are. This time I just got told they'll only be a few minutes when they only actually checked that the driver had left the store and didn't bother calling them.

Turns up 1.15 hrs later after ordering cold store has no interest in sorting it avoid avoid avoid and very over priced

Anyone who claims dominoes is better than papa John’s is lying. Dominoes uses good ingredients only they just slap it on and don’t care, papa johns make a pizza properly, all the time it’s never inconsistent and they have always been extremely good for hygiene also, dominoes is just sketchy. When papa johns stopped delivering to baldock I literally stopped eating pizza, sad times. Thanks to Deliveroo I can eat my fav pizza again so thank you very much 🙏 worth every single penny and their giant chocolate cookie is a solid 10/10 papa johns is life

Found 2 hairs, on & under the pizza. Went back to the store to ask for a refund but was refused as ‘it is policy if you have more than 2 slices, you can’t have a refund’ however I wouldn’t have found the hairs if only had 2 slices. Cookie pizza was also burnt

I phone, I order, I collect, been using them for years & never had a bad, overpriced pizza. They are better than the other pizza brands & I never have a pizza with chicken in it, just not an Italian way.

Worst papa John's ever food was cold half the topping on pizza missing wrong garlic bread and missing drink don't usually moan but this takes the biscuit

Ordered 2 medium pizzas 2 sides and a drink, both pizzas nearly cold when they arrived and the cherry pepsi max had turned in to a raspberry pepsi max. The garlic sauce is so weird I thought it was out of date (it wasn't but tastes like it should of been ) Back to domino's for me

Absolutely stunning helpful staff I had an order on new year's eve and after realising I should pick up the order(40 min later) I called them if I can still pick it up. They supposed to be closed already and they made a New hot pizza because they thought I'm not coming and throw it out the previous one. Absolutely fantastic. Always fresh, hot, quick delivery,polite staff.

AVOID, ordered a bbq chicken pizza absolutely foul, took one bite and instantly new the chicken was off, the pizza was stone cold and when we called up to complain we were told “sorry thats what we give to all of our customers “ complete waste of time and money and will NEVER GO BACK!

Food was cold, chicken was gone off, called to complain and was told that this was the chicken they give to everyone and their was nothing they would do to reimburse us, this papa johns has left us with a bad taste in our mouth in more ways than one.

The last 6 reviews are fake lol, they are all employees there and all reviewed at the same time with only 1 review in their lifetime, the real reviews are the one with bad service etc

Ordered pizza online and tracked delivery as per the app and waited 45 minutes ,app said pizza had been delivered so after 10 minutes I rang the shop to say my pizza hadn't been delivered and was told it was 10 minutes away. Pizza arrived an hour later after 3 more phone calls and was cold,be warned don't pay on the app wait until you get your pizza ,they say its delivered on the app to meet targets set by head office which they obviously can't deliver.....avoid, avoid, avoid

Ordered they said it had been delivered clearly hadn't, rang back after about am hour. They said "sending driver back now 10 minutes" 15 minutes later turned up it's clearly been dropped on the floor and it's cold. Ridiculous Basil Faulty esk.

Their app told me the pizza was delivered at 7:29. But nothing had arrived. I sat on the phone to the store fore 25 minutes waiting for them to pick up... and they did, just before the delivery actually arrived at 7:55. There was no prearranged time, but if your app says it has been delivered, it should be here already. Rubbish. At least the pizza was good.

Pizzas arrived 30 minutes after it was marked as delivered on the tracker and 50 minutes after it was prepared. Had to call them 3 times to chase. Pizzas was not great. Won’t be ordering again.

I order a pizza once a week and sometimes twice a week with no problems in the past. On this occasion my pizza was cold and when I rang the branch the answer was: We will make sure next time it's hot! Ok there will be no next time because that's not how you treat your customers.

No service or communication. Order 6:35, followed by out for delivery and “enjoy”updates after 8:00. Then no pizza and a sorry it’s late at 8:25. Delivery turned up at 9:13. Worst ever service.

Rude and unhelpful. Over 90 minutes to get a pizza delivered for it to arrive cool and incorrect. When contacted about the order refused to refund and said it was a head office issue so now without a pizza as unable to eat it due to the ingredients they've used and down on money. If you have any sense, you will read the reviews before ordering any garbage from this Pappa John’s franchise in Hitchin. Unless you like pizzas that are so over-cooked they give a whole new meaning to crisp! We ordered quite a few things and to be honest, most of it ended up in the bin. The store are not interested in hearing any complaints. Pizza toppings are sparse… …I had to search for some to see if they had actually been added. Taste is very bland, greasy and ‘average’ – certainly no where near as good as other Pappa John’s we have used throughout the UK. After a couple of slices of just tasting burnt crust, this was binned. So was the garlic bread (see pic) which was absolutely disgusting – so ended up in the bin! We also ordered some ‘Cheesy Jalapeno Bites’ at £5.49 for 10… …we got 9 and they were just fried grease sponges that tasted just of old cooking oil – completely vile! They too ended up in the bin! To be honest, the best thing about the takeaway was the box and was probably actually more tasty that the contents, although we restrained ourselves and had a bowl of cornflakes instead. An absolutely disgraceful service giving Papa John's a bad name. I just spent 30 minutes on the phone patiently with a member of staff who couldn't process the order because of a system error. I asked her to get some help if she couldn't do it and instead she started to argue and hung up on me. Whoever is responsible for the management and recruitment of this branch needs to be fired! Go elsewhere and save yourselves the hassle.

Very rude person called me today about my review. Seriously are you trying to satisfy your customers or are you calling to tell off to your customers??? Your pizza was cold or not warm enough or not correct temperature etc etc. And you can not judge me why I didn't call the store and re order! During pandemic I did not want to wait another 30-35 minutes for my dinner and I warmed it up. And if Papa John's send me an email asking my experience, of course I will write my feedback. And you as a shop owner or manager have no right to talk with me aggressively.

My order was 25 mins later so I called the restaurant. The man on the phone said the driver had been knocking at my door for 10 mins. This could not be true. The man on the phone was very rude and shouted at me when I told him this. He charged me £3 for redelivery of the cold food. The delivery driver then called me because he was lost- so how could he have been knocking for 10 mins if he is now lost??? So it took 50 mins and extra money for me to get stone cold food and I was shaking from how rude the man had been to me. I called back to explain this to him. He said he would call me back in 5 mins but never did. Shocking.

took 2 hours to get to us and when it arrived it was luke warm at best. I cant after an hour of waiting and after spending 10 mins waiting for someone to answer the phone someone just say "we are very busy, its on its way" and hung up without even finding out what order i was asking for. Also didn't Even bother to cut one of the pizzas. Over all the worst takeaway experience in a long time. Wong bother with Pappa johns again. Pizza Go go in hitchin have far better food and service.

Total rubbish, took forever to arrive, try calling the shop to find out where the order is but nobody ever answers, food was stone cold and looked like it had been sat on and mashed up and not as described on the menu. As for no contact delivery an absolute lie, guy stood almost inside the front door with no mask or gloves on and no seal on any of the boxes!!!! Will never order again or recommend to anyone.

A year ago this location was great, delivered on time, pizza quality was great, delivery was friendly. About six months ago I had a very poor experience, pizza was disheveled in appearance, took 2 hours to get, so I rang to complain, only to be told I had to go through the website. I called it a fluke and tried again a couple months later only to be met with the same dissatisfaction. I ordered extra cheese yet there were large gaps in the cheese. The pizza was smashed to the top of the box. It goes on. I waited another couple months for one last attempt and it was the last. My only guess is the franchise has changed hands and the new owner has zero care for quality. As am American this is a taste of home I sometimes crave, but thanks to this location its not longer an itch i can scratch.

Got sent a Garlic Sticks with meat on it, despite order plain Garlic Sticks. I am a vegetarian so its pretty annoying. Phoned the store and he did not seem to care.The person I spoke to gave his name as 'Mr Ali', and wouldnt give a surname even though i never asked what his title was, just said this is what people call me. Got a partial refund after complaining to the headoffice, but would never order again as they did not care one bit! I understand mistakes happen but just poor service.

Awful experience here. Delivered garlic cheese sticks with bacon on which is incorrect as we are vegetarian. Called to complain and “Mr Ali” who refused to give his full name was not helpful at all. Dinner ruined and they didn’t even deliver the correct item after we informed them of the mistake. Will never give them our business again, plenty of other pizza places around here!

Really disappointed in them. During this time it's important our hygiene is first class. On papa John's website they claim to do no contact delivery and make sure there is a seal on pizza box to show it hasn't been touched since coming out the oven. We noticed we didn't get one so I phoned and asked and they told me they don't do it if they don't have time. They clearly don't take this pandemic seriously enough. Why have that promise on your website so give customers confidence when you aren't even bothering What a disgrace will never be ordering again

Took a long time to arrive, very greasy, got my address wrong (and then tried to argue with me that I had given the wrong address - despite the fact I had a confirmation email clearly showing the correct address), and their sauce isn't as good as dominos. I knew that before ordering but won't make the same mistake again.

The worse customer service I have ever received EVER! Ordered food at 20:30 on JustEat. Was told that order would be with me at 21:40. At 22:20 still no food. The person who answered the phone went to speak to his shift manager and I could hear them saying “I’m not making another” and “if they want the pizza then they can just have this cold one!” - they then marked the order on JustEat as delivered so I couldn’t get a refund from it. Absolutely disgusting service and I will be taking it higher to anyone I possibly can do. Best part of it is that I was actually polite the whole way through because I thought that they may have been busy but actually reading the other reviews... I wished I had of been rude to them!

Just had the worst experience ordering from here. Maybe they have changed hands but they are now totally useless . Waited hours for a pizza that never came . Every time I rang they said was in its way. after 2 hrs I was told my order had been cancelled as they don't deliver to my address despite me having ordered many times before . Will never use again !!!!

No change for £20 when the pizza costs £14. Driving trying to tell me go get £5 from the local shop and he can give me change. He swiftly got told to get off the property

Ordered online half an hour before close, order got confirmed, then half an hour after close we get an email saying there's a problem with the order, but, they're closed so you can't do anything about it. The only problem with our order was they looked at the clock and decided they couldn't be bothered to make the food. Seriously, what is the point in having opening times?

Always good pizza. Not open til 01:00. Acknowledge your customers when you cancel their order and update your details so as not to disappoint, or we'll go elsewhere

The thing that struck me most was the complete lack of interest every member of staff had, from the person on the phone taking my order, to the people milling around in the shop when I went to collect the order, having to ask two or three different people for my order.The pizzas themselves are at best average, so I'll try elsewhere from now on. I'm guessing they won't be too bothered as they continue to pile them high and sell them cheap.

Papa johns as expected. Same experience as any other papa John's I've been in. Their pizza always tastes good in my opinion. Not to sure what they're thinking on some of those sauces though!

I have to say not all bad, the good points were the garlic bread and pomdoro sauce was lovely and my pizza was nice however lacked toppings. However the bad points were the wedges were undercooked and cold and hardly any cheese on top my other half’s pizza was then over cooked he only ate one slice and said never again! The delivery guy kept calling us to meet them down the road like what the hell is home delivery all about? After a twelve hour shift I don’t want to have a walk down the road and carry my food back up. So it wasn’t worth the money we be going back to Pizza Hut delivery.

Your food will show up as delivered on the website long before it arrives. When it finally does come... stone cold. There is better pizza in town but this place used to fulfill that American pizza experience. Pity

Do not use this place at all. Ordered a meat feast via the App which arrived with no meat because everything had been removed. The other pizza was vile just tasted so sweet. I called the store they said “oh yeah other customers have complained about orders on the app” - you will have to take it up with Head Office. So the Papa John’s Quality guarantee is worth nothing!!

I know this is late but it just clicked my mind that i didnt type up a review about this. So i went in to get a chicken bbq pizza the other day whilst my son came and asked if there were any jobs available as a driver due to noticing the indeed advertisement. Turns out when my son asked if he could take a seat in the office one of the dark skinned workers had replied that there is no seating in the office!!!! Astonishing!! This place is amazing but honestly these little things really do make a big impact on the store. Hope i was being joked around with. Anna.

I’ve used Papa Johns before and it was terrible. But decided to give it the benefit of the doubt as a friend wanted to order there. I wish I hadn’t bothered. Pizza took so long to be delivered, we called to find out where it was. The member of staff that answered was so rude and informed us they didn’t even have a delivery driver as he hadn’t turned up. We offered to collect the pizza and where told we couldn’t. We asked for a refund and also where told we couldn’t. Pizza eventually turned up two hours later. It was cold and the wrong size and toppings. None of the dips we ordered came with it. Never again

Good service and delivery times. Seems to strike a good balance between quality and price. I find that you either love or hate the different types of pizzas. The pepperoni pizza I find great, the works is good if you like olives and chillies (you should!), But when experimenting I find a pizza I do not enjoy e.g. the chicken, bacon and onion BBQ had a sauce that was not to my taste as was quite powerful and fruity. I wouldn't be surprised if others loved it though. If you are willing to try a few to find the ones you like then this place can reliably deliver a good pizza at a good price.
