Bodillys Oriental Cusine in North Hertfordshire

Tried for the first time last night and absolutely loved it! Our new go to. Arrived quickly (within half an hour). Will be recommending.

Food was hot, but the smallest portions I've ever had from there, chicken had a strange taste not Chicken Shish as I know it. Dissapointing and very poor! Won't be ordering again.

Always good, loads of choice, never any issues. Its very popular to order early on Friday and Saturdays to avoid delays. But this is always communicated well

Good quality food, well cooked and not greasy. Fresh ingredients and good cuts of meat in every dish we have tried, which is loads.

ngl i've had better t/a from Chinese restaurants in Hitchin. My family have tried all the Chinese t/a s in Hitchin and this is one of the least favourite ones as the food was overly chewy and slightly undercooked. Save your money and go someone else is my recommendation.

A more bland, watery tasting chinese meal I am yet to have. The special rice tasted like it had been harvested from the bin. The spice in the Thai red curry seems to be there in place of any flavour. The salt and pepper chicken must have been cooking since last night as tasted like rubber and there was more grease than prawn in the prawn toast. What a disappointment.

Absolutely shocking. Spent £60 and it was a complete waste of money. Food was bland and the shredded beef tasted like puke. 30 mins late making it cold and soggy. Pleas avoid at all costs.

Do not buy a takeaway from this place on a Friday or Saturday. They cannot cope with demand. We waited 3 hours for our food, phoned three times and each time were spun a different tale as to where our food was. When it arrived, it was cold.From a £70 order they offered a £3 refund and a bottle of Pepsi. Absolutely laughable. Really terrible experience and ruined our evening.

Highly Recommended we decided to collect our takeaway no fuss they were very busy on a Saturday night and after a short wait freshly cooked steaming hot food. Delicious. Have ordered before but had home delivery. They were very busy which is a recommendation in itself with people saying we have ordered from here before.

Soup was ok, chicken curry not so good.Arrived nearly half an hour late, no apology from the delivery guySkin left on parts of the chicken.No peppers in the curry the only vegetable was 2 ( yes, TWO ) green peas an some almost raw onion. The curry sauce was thick and gloopy and not very warm.Would I use them again.......NOT A CHANCE

We regularly have this Chinese as a takeaway. The food is always nice and hot and the value for money is great!! Sometimes the meat can be a bit dry but mixed in with the sauces it’s fine! One of the best Chinese takeaways in town when it’s comes to good value and quality!

Ordered a takeaway from Bodiliys as our usual was closed,food was hot and arrived in good time -earlier than was promised.had spare ribs,crispy duck, beef/black bean sauce, chicken w/spring onion and gingerand egg fried rice.rice was fine, duck was a bit chewy, hoisin sauce was more runny than it is normally,beef was also a bit grisly and chewy.Flavour was good though.however after eating dinner my wife felt drowsy and was unwell for most of the night .I was fine . not sure what that was about - not usual with our regular chinese.would think twice before ordering from here again.

We have tried various chinese take-aways in Hitchin but keep returning to Bodillys. We enjoy the food (although the spicy dishes are not actually spicy at all). The food is consistently good and when we go to collect our order, it is always ready on time. The prices are also very reasonable.

Food is good, not expensive and great variety. I eat from here 3 nights in one week it was that good.

Order takeaway at 7.15pm tonight finally got it at 9.05pm. Even our 10 year old had to eat it this late as we had promisex him a chibese Shocking service, when we called we kept being told 20 mins away. Nothing offered as a refund so we asked but all they said was we can have 2 free dishes on our next order. But we don't want another order. Food was tasteless, like warm, the peanut sauce was missing and everything greasy. Avoid at all costs

We've been ordering from Bodilly's for at least five years (probably more) and they have always been consistently great quality no matter what dishes we order. And very timely too - they've never been late and have often been early. Delivery chap is always friendly and love the free prawn crackers :-) I've tried 2 or 3 other Chinese takeaways in Hitchin and Bodilly's remains the best.

I also ordered on the 11th, and waited for a coldish and late delivery. Since moving to Hitchin this has been the only Chinese I have used, and have recommend to others. What has got me to TripAdvisor is the way my complaint was handed after the phone was handed to a young woman... 20% discount on my next order.... Really, No Sorry!! Okay restaurants/takeaways have bad nights, and I left a review for an Indian (had cold and late delivery) but look at my review and I am still using them

What a shame, ordered many times from here & its been perfect - ordered on a Saturday early evening we waited hour and a half for it to be delivered cold - caller over the phone couldn't care less & only offered 20% discount?! Not impressed at all...

Food was on time, very hot and restaurant quality. We had King Prawns and a beef dish, which was very tasty. Thank you and will definitely make this our local takeaway.

Was pleasantly surprised to see service had improved. This time order taken and delivery was at time given, even a little earlier. Food was hot. Delivery driver was pleasant and had a sense of humour Takeaway service was quick and friendly. .

Nos encanta la comida aquí, habiendo cambiado desde Londres era difícil encontrar comida para llevar china que cumplan con la calidad de lo que teníamos allí y finalmente encontramos Bodillys! Se entrega en letchworth, buena calidad a un precio razonable y siempre caliente. Recomiendo los fideos de arroz singapur, kung po pollo, pato en salsa de ciruela, huevos fritos, arroz y rollitos de primavera. He probado otros, pero siempre tome siempre volver a Bodillys!

The food was nasty, the sauces were so thick, was like eating jelly. It went straight in the bin. worst 25.00 quid spent..............:(

We frequently visit this establishment, and are very pleased with the consistent quality of the food and service.Staff are always pleasant and friendly , and the prices are reasonable . Keep up the good work

As my first time using this takeaway I wasn't expecting much but it was delivered fast, it was hot and it was all good.The coconut rice was too sweet for my tastes but I am happy overall.I will definitely use this takeaway again =)

Just another Chinese Take Away that is pretty much the same as all the others. Nothing special at all so if your happy with take away tubs full of sticky sauce then its fine i suppose.

In the main we find the food delivered from Bodilly's to be good quality and reasonably priced.They would receive a higher rating but for the fact that just occasionally the food disappoints - perhaps a change of chef for one night - the normally succulent lemon chicken arrives dried out with greasy batter. So for the next few orders we go elsewhere.In the grand scheme of things I would choose either Bodilly's or Jasmine over most of the other Chinese takeaway restaurants in Hitchin.

We ordered online for delivery which was quick and easy to use. Food arrived very promptly and was good. The duck was really nice, sometimes I often find you never get enough duck for your rolls and it's all fat but this duck had a lot of meat and no fat at all. The chicken balls tasted like proper chicken not the processed stuff so the standard of the food was overall very good. The chow mein could have done with some more chicken in it but was still very nice.The only let down for us was that when ordering online and selecting the cash payment it actually asks you to type the exact amount of cash you will be paying with. We commented on what a good idea that was as it means they can bring the correct amount of change and save the hassle of trying to work it out and having to carry lots of cash. So we selected the £20 option as we were paying with a £20 note. When the delivery arrived the man didn't have the change. All he had was a few 20p. To be fair to him he did offer to go back and get the change and return with it but tbh I'm not going to make someone do that in this weather plus we wanted to sit down and enjoy our meal not have to get up and sort that out halfway through eating so we ended up paying about £19 for a delivery that was only £13. It's not a massive issue but it seems kind of pointless going through the cash option online if it's not going to used. Apart from that we would have given 5 stars

The food was average and the service was crap. They failed to deliver curry sauce and chicken fried rice WHICH WE PAID FOR!!!!!!! we asked them to bring it and they refused, 4 phone calls later they said they don't care that we were disgusted and then they hung up on us mid conversation!!!!!! this is the good part people-we drove down there & asked for curry sauce. the man says to my friend 'sorry wrong shop lady bye bye' SO RUDE. at this point you probably are aware of the importance of curry sauce WHICH WAS £1.10 CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?!?!?!!?!? the fact of the matter was that we had paid for that all important curry sauce and chicken fried rice, even when we drove there ourselves they still refused to give us some.we would rather eat Giovanna Plowmans used tampons than order from Bodilly's ever again.

Delicious food. We got our first take away Chinese from here and we wasn't disappointed! The Cantonese style chicken is a must!

It was the first time we ordered from here and we were by no means disappointed. The honey ribs were amazing! Not bad price for the food and delivery was very quick! Would order from here again!

We had takeout here one night. Portions were generous; prices fair and "service" friendly (we went in and picked it up, and were greeted by a friendly clerk). Some dishes were OK, some were very good; some could have benefited from a bit more seasoning (not necessarily heat). I wouldn't order the fried desserts again, but that's probably a matter of preference.

I've used Bodillys a number of times over the last few months and have to say that these guys are now my Chinese takeaway of choice. Great varied menu with very tasty food and our order has always been ready for collection at the time stated. Great value and jam packed goodness. Would recommend without hesitation.

Been using Bodillys since moving to Hitchin, and never been disappointed. The food is not spectacular, but it is always delicious and always fills us up on those nights where only crispy chilli beef will do.Recommended (though don't order the pad Thai... Stick to the Chinese dishes here)

Even after moving to Letchworth I still order from Bodilly's. The menu is varied and reasonably priced, and the food always arrives piping hot. On busy nights it can take 45-60 mins for your food to arrive, so don't leave it to the last minute.

Eight of us with varied tastes in Asian food ordered a Saturday night takeaway , they cooked the items fresh , varied from mild Chinese to spicy Thai , all good, free coke & prawn crackers, only down side, they did not label the boxes, so great fun deciding which dish was whose!!!
