Visited for a music gig one evening - I’ve now received a £100 parking charge for using their car park! Jokers
Update:
Yes I visited the pub with my fine, two female staff (bar/kitchen?) told me there’s nothing they can do and that I could appeal but will likely have to pay. I asked if there was a manager I could speak to and they said no.
Several patrons in the garden area spoke to me after I was turned away and told me they are facing the same issue with the pub.
Anti-consumer and not ‘very helpful’ as the owner’s comment suggests. My review remains 1 star while I have to fight a parking company for visiting you.
Pilau rice was like microwaved brown rice, absolutely no flavour to the Bombay aloo, the tandoori chicken, was a plain brown colour with no flavour. Curries were watery and bland, I ordered a pasanda and got a very watery korma, £52 in the bin!! Very disappointed.
Very solid Sunday roast. Meat was particularly good, as can always be a concern with roasts, but perfectly cooked!
Served by 3 staff overall, and all were brilliant. Felt very welcome.
Over the years had a bit of a mixed bag here (nothing crazy bad but sometimes very slow, OK food, nothing significant enough to review either way), but last few visits have all been great - definitely worth a positive review. In fact, half didn’t want to review in case it gets impossible to get a table 😂
Nice enough food and great, friendly and attentive staff but really expensive for what it is. Setting is nice but prices probably 10-20% too high. Otherwise, faultless.
Lovely service!
Still don't understand why the public are allowed to bring dogs into coffee shops! Outside i understand but inside around food and young children i struggle to get my head around.
Bishops Stortford has some brilliant curry houses, unfortunately Zara doesn’t quite meet this very high standard. The food is fine, maybe even good, but it’s not a restaurant you’ll be itching to get back to. The flavours just aren’t all there. Along with that, it is quite pricey - considering the food isn’t the greatest, it’s a bit steep. The service is also quite slow, which can get a tad annoying when the restaurant isn’t very busy. Overall, I’d say I was a bit disappointed
Great family friendly pub. Good food and a good atmosphere. Nice garden area with a play area for kids and lovely views of the countryside. Sometimes local riders will pop in for one with their horses which are lovely to meet.
