Veyso’s Brasserie in East Hertfordshire

I have been coming to veysos for the past 8 years and they never disappoint, They looked after us during my fiancés 28th birthday and the service was second to none, Thank you for an amazing experience x

Such a shame this restaurant has unfriendly staff, takes the shine off of a visit even though it's so nicely done out. The couple we went with are from out of the area and they felt the food was good but no better than other Turkish restaurants they have been to at a much lower price (It is expensive) As a result we will not choose to spend our money here again.

Amazing date night, live singer on Saturday night made it extra special. Food always excellent.

Food mostly good, though starters too large and lacking finesse. Lovely lamb shish- quality meat and cooked to perfection. Pushy waiter who irritatingly kept asking if we wanted to order more/ upgrade wine etc- found this annoying abd patronising.

Rude greeting from the hosts, make me feel uncomfortable the entire meal 6 members of staff bunched up watching me eat. Sat us next to the toilet door. Ruined my dad's birthday. Wouldn't even let him have his birthday cake. Food was mediocre and price was ridiculous. Crystal kabab in cheshunt is better.

Hmmm fell short sadly on this occasion. Food was average at best but plenty of it, however on this visit it would have been best if less was more. The live singer was way too loud and the PA system wasn’t the best and quite distorted so needed to be toned down by a couple of decibels. We looked at the desert menu but because dinner had been so average we didn’t fancy desert. We thought we would have fresh mint teas but noticed they wanted £4.45 for a cup of hot water with a few mint leaves thrown in!!! As there were 6 of us we were not going to spend £26.70 on boiling water. As a sort of joke we said to the waiter we were happy to pay £18!! He said he would ask but no the manager not only didn’t come over but would t come over!! It was all a bit tongue in cheek but we were shocked the manager wouldn’t come and see us even if it was just friendly banter and said sorry we can’t change the prices and yes I agree that a 1500% mark up is a bit steep but my hands are tied. We are all in business and we all know that in order to survive properly you have to deliver and provide fab customer service and everything was below par. I hasten to add we can all easily afford £4.95 but none of us like to be bent over and shafted with a mint bush! £105 a couple which is average today that was with only 3 glasses of wine so hardly any booze but the food was not up to scratch. Sorry 😞

Came here for my birthday meal with my family, lovely staff and food - thank you!

The stars are for the food, not the service. If I could give the staff 0 stars I would, the host and wait staff were rude and unaccommodating, we asked several times for things like tap water and they continued to not be delivered, despite not being busy with anything else. The meal was nice but too expensive for what we got. I got a small serving of VEGETABLE Mousakka for £17.50, you can get a lamb one for £20. I’ve had better priced meals in Turkish restaurants. At the end, we were told we couldn’t have a print out of the bill? I’m sorry, what restaurant doesn’t print you an itemised bill, after payment we still had £100 left on the bill for service charge which in our opinion was not deserved. The staff continued to repeat we had to pay because it was 11pm and they were closing the till but kept ignoring that we were asking for an itemised bill to pay. The attitude was poor from the host and staff and it put a damper on the occasion we were all out celebrating. This was 17 guests that will all never return.

Very quiet Monday lunchtime but we enjoyed a lovely lunch. Great to find somewhere open on a Monday too!

Delicious food, great service (Selda always looks after us) reasonably priced and I will certainly continue to come here as I have for years!

We had booked dinner with a group of friends, one of whom had a newborn. Veysos does not allow any children of any age in their restaurant and we were asked to leave.

I don’t normally bother writing reviews, but after an anniversary meal at Veyso we were left disappointed. We wanted to try something new from our usual, but wish we hadn’t bothered. The restaurant is decorated nicely and is impressive when you walk in. The welcome from staff was not as impressive. The food was ok, tasty but nothing out of this world. The starters was 3 little prawns social distancing on a plate. They looked kinda sad. Next was mixed shish, again 4 pieces of meat neatly presented. This arrived before our starter plates had been collected, of course we helped by clearing our plates away, but not even a thank you or smile from the waitress. We then had to find someone to order another drink, no one came over throughout our whole meal to see if we were ok or needed anything else. To be honest, it felt like we were an inconvenience, and not one member of staff (from the several we saw) smiled or was friendly towards us. Shame, but we would not return or bother recommending this place to anyone.

Was recommended this place after recently moving to the area from North London where there I’ve eaten in multiple Turkish restaurants. Ordered a cocktail to be told they didn’t have the ingredients. I was offered a cocktail not on the menu but apparently was nice. Well it wasn’t. When asked how it was by our host I was honest. About 20 minutes later I was offered a replacement cocktail on the house. Ordered a mixed shish, the lamb was completely pink. I didn’t want to complain as felt I had already been negative about my cocktail. When our host came to take our plates she noticed the pink lamb and apologised, said she would speak to the chef. She didn’t mentioned anything more to us about it. The bill came and it was £70pp. We did have a three course meal, 1 alcoholic drink each and a coffee so I’m not disputing the price but was very disappointed in paying this for food that was way below average. The restaurant was not very busy for a Saturday night. Nice music and a great live singer. However due to lack in quality of food and the host not acknowledging this I won’t be returning. Go to Lussmans next door - bloody incredible 5* all round!

Below average food. Lamb was pink. Coming from North London where every other restaurant is Turkish the price did not reflect in the quality of food.

Absolutely appalling. Me and my girl friend went and the waiter kept trying flirt with my girlfriend and was staring at her and making sleazy comments. They were very rude and when asked why the food was taking so long they said that’s how it is we are busy restaurant They then served us a platter and substituted items of their choice. Instead of saying some of the items were unavailable they just substituted with items we didn’t want too much of. When I asked why they said we have the option to go elsewhere I like to give everyone a chance but seriously this place is overpriced and food is not even great.

Maybe Sunday late afternoon not the best time to go. Had lamb / chicken kebab. 3 bits lamb / chicken Carrot, red cabbage etc. surprised it wasn’t served with bed of rice. That was xtra. Also had tomato & avocado salad. Sent back salad. The bits of avocado was rock hard. They must’ve been aware when trying to cut it in kitchen ? Wasn’t worth the money. Decor fantastic

Wow ! Inside is stunning, ambient and gorgeous. From the moment you arrive the service is 5 stars. Seated / served in minutes , how many times do you go out and you are seated and wait 15 minutes for a drinks order ? Not here .. the food , I’ve eaten at “other” Turkish restaurants and the food is cooked and bland , the food here is stunning. You can taste the effort put in and the portions are superb. I will definitely go back , great food , amazing venue and fantastic service , thank you

Upmarket Turkish themed restaurant - although they had no Turkish wine and the menu is a bit eclectic. We asked for a table in the garden, was told it was closed for work then watched several groups get tables out there! Clearly we weren’t special enough. It was ok but was hoping for a Turkish meal and there are better Turkish restaurants locally

Very happy to have found a genuinely good authentic Turkish restaurant locally. Even us Turks can be quite picky with our food but I couldn't fault Veyso's. Friendly staff, nice vibe and great food.

We’ve just eaten here. The ambience is wonderful but my vegetarian moussaka was rock solid on the bottom. When I complained she just said I’ll tell them. No apology at all. Very disappointing. My husband enjoyed his food but the service leaves a lot to be desired.

Delicious food I really enjoyed the atmosphere here food is very on point as well. The staff are very friendly and and very good with the service making sure that the customers have everything they want. I would highly recommend trying this place out especially on a nice date night.

Been coming to Veysos since it opened and never been disappointed. Staff are a credit to the owners. Food is stunning which is why I keep going back.

Service with a smile but all food ordered was overcooked especially the sea bass and longer than necessary wait for it to arrive after the starter. 2 course set meal was ordered.

Had taken my father here before and had a good meal and waiter was very good but went back a second time with my son as well and totally different experience I ordered the sea bass with risotto and when it arrived it came with chips and when I asked where the risotto was waiter said I ordered from old menu so can't have what I ordered off the menu Wouldn't have ordered the sea bass if known came with chips If he would have apologised and asked if I wanted something else instead of arguing with me it wouldn't have been a problem but he didn't offer me anything else and started arguing, obviously not a family friendly restaurant and unfortunately won't be going back

We came to Veysos for my husbands birthday with our children in Saturday night! We had the best service as per usual. We had some tasty starters to share which were lovely the goats cheese and honey and the calamari are definite musts when you visit. Most of us had the mixed lamb and chicken kebab for main and I always order two portions of the octopus starter as a main course and I have to say that the Octopus was even better than normal it seemed to be a more generous sized portion which really made my day :D :D thanks everyone at Veysos we will of course be back again soon!! Xx

Having eaten here a few times with friends and family I can safely say I've never had a bad meal. the food is superb and the drinks likewise. most recently I came with my family to celebrate my father's retirement. The whole party loved the meals and atmosphere and service. the only slight issue I had was that I had booked and organised with the staff in advance for an outdoor table for a set time and number. when we arrived they hadn't set the table or reserved it. the staff were quick to bring menus, cutlery, glasses etc but it would of been nice to have the table set and ready upon arrival.

Fantastic ambiance when you walk in. Staff are extremely attentive. I ordered the Lamb Shish - the meat was delicious- came with large salad, absolutely fantastic meal and amazing service.

The place looks fabulous and the food is delicious. Definitely will be back again. Waitress Nelly is so kind, pleasant and very polite.

We arrived as a family for my 30th birthday lunch and had a lovely table outside - nice vibe on a sunny day with background music. However, the service was appalling. Firstly, they got one of our orders wrong which meant one person in the group had to wait around for their main. Secondly, three of the people on the table had a brunch which included bottomless Prosecco. A lady kindly asked my Mother’s partner if he wanted his last drink which he accepted, but then the lady didn’t return. When we asked another waiter for the Prosecco, he said the time was up but we had already been offered the drink and the lady forgot. This particular member of staff was rude and had a bad attitude, but he did eventually return with a glass of Prosecco. During this time, we had multiple different waiters, there was not one dedicated person serving us, no one checked in to see if things were ok. The restaurant was pretty dead so it’s shocking that the service was so bad. We had to flag someone down to order the desserts as part of the brunch menu, and they still forgot one of them - by this point we all wanted to leave. When the bill came, they charged 7 of us the brunch menu when only 3 people had this. This meant the bill was more than should be charged so we had to wait around whilst they recalculated. The brunch menu is a set price, 3 courses and bottomless Prosecco, the rest of us ordered a starter and main with our own choice of drink. It completely didn’t make sense as surely it was clear who ordered the brunch and who did not??? Honestly shocked at the miscommunication, common sense and lack of service from this place. A real shame as the food is excellent but I left so disappointed, I will not be returning.

We had a lovely dinner. Group of 6, quick seating, waitress was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. As a 2 chefs in the party we were all very impressed. The cocktails were good. Thank you for making a special evening even better we will be back.

We did go for a meal with families and 2 grand children's , we get there and we whose the only customers . We did order different food to be able to test more choices All food whose very good and we did enjoy

Lovely food good value for money

We absolutely loved the bottomless brunch here! It was amazing value for money, £39.95 for 3 courses and bottomless drinks! The staff were super friendly and were willing to take drink orders before we finished our drinks and then brought them over when we finished!

We did go for a meal with family . Place very nice and staff very good. Al the food whose good and any one of us did enjoy.

I went with my partner and they sat us next to a large group of woman who were very loud. I think they just need to think when it’s a couple they should seat people away from big tables. It was early and the place was empty. I didn’t want to make a fuss and asked to be moved. Saying that, service and food was great and the restaurant is lovely. Definitely recommend this place. I’ll look forward to returning for more exceptional food.

Best Turkish Fine dining restaurant

Absolutely amazing! I came to your restaurant yesterday with my family after recommendation from friends. We all had an amazing time. The tasting menu was delicious and the staff so attentive and friendly. I love that you get a lot of food as well for the price. This has been the best meal ever, the presentation was superb, cooked to perfection. I just wanted to say thank you! It's not all the time people get praised, the quality of the service and food was excellent. Why go to London with this on your doorstep. Thank you for a wonderful lunch and excellent wine - we shall return!

The food, service, and environment of Veysos is amazing and incredible. It is truly a restaurant that I recommend to everyone that enjoys Turkish cuisine. The staff are magnificent and great at the work they present. The interaction they present with the customer is phenomenal and effective. I sure will come again to Veysos!! Thank you!

Good but overpriced. Coming as standard with rice should be a bare minimum. Left hungry despite spending £35 on a starter and main.

From their appearance on IG, this place stinks of style over substance 😂🙈, however, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the quality of food, friendliness and efficiency of service and a great atmosphere. Yes, it’s a lot pricier and you can get similar quality with half the price in Harringay Green Lanes, however, I’d say it stands out from the rest of the food offerings in Hertford 😋

Nice enough place. Food is well and I mean well overpriced for the product. I would say Veysos is more look than substance. Will I return.....? maybe. I have been twice now and it definitely is not as good as it was. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 overall.

I have been to Veysos many times. The ambiance created by its menu, taste and decor is a place where I always feel special. I would definitely recommend!

Absolutely lovely place with a very modern and unique decor. The service was quick and the staff was so friendly. By the time are drinks was made the start was coming out the same time super quick. The main meal was out just after we had finished are start the service was excellent I would recommend this for anyone wanting a good kebab

We booked for bottomless brunch. Initially the service was pleasant. One of the waitresses was very good and attentive making sure to fill our glasses. Unfortunately when she left another waitress took over, she was not very approachable and not attentive at all. She came across as rude and can’t be bothered attitude. She barely attended to our table. I love this place but this time we did not have a very positive experience. It was a shame as our first waitress was very nice.

Outstanding. Fabulous restaurant with some really good decorations and wall sculptures. The minute I walked in I was attended by THREE ladies. I ordered a small takeaway. Loads in the bag! Not just what I ordered but loads of sauce and salad! Nice bags too! Looking forward to eating there as soon as I can. The food was yum! Happy customer, will be returning :)

Love veysos - it's my go to ! Food is great, staff are so polite and go above and beyond. Entertainment is great ! Can't fault it :)

Modern Turkish restaurant with entertainment, the group I was with all enjoyed it, Food was good enjoyed it along with the entertainment.

Let’s start with the positive.. great decor and clean! Ordered a Long Island asked for hardly any lemon in it, arrived with pure lemon ask waitress is there confusion it’s so lemony, to be argued it’s fine.. after explaining I could not drink was finally changed. £14 a cocktail you want to be able to drink it. Sauces brought to table I explained I do not eat mayo.. was told well there’s nothing else. I had to BUY a huge starter plate of talziki just to accompany my meal. Very overpriced, rice or chips not included in meal thats extra.. our final bill Was £110! They add service charge themselves. I always tip when good service regardless but to expect one for not good service is annoying .. feel you pay for the atmosphere, wall art and posh salad on the plate more than anything else. I know other Turkish restaurants much more reasonable and delicious.

Rudd staff, spent several hundred pounds that night to be kicked off our table and asked to be moved to the entrance seating area which we happily moved to and ordered more drinks then to be told if we could leave cause they need the tables for people are waiting for their tables in the restaurant! Got attitude from many servers and shocked at the service we got after spending alot of money including paying for desert which we never received.

Lovely interior and good service. Salmon overcooked and salty, so I left it. Staff didn’t discount, or remove service, so we will never return and recommend others not to. Overpriced and underwhelming.

Had a very good dinning experience in Veyso’s. Food is really tasty and the serving and plating is very nice. Staff are all friendly. If you like Turkish food this is the place to dine.

Came to this place for a birthday, absolutely awful experience, will never be returning the manager especially and staff were all incredibly rude, they took forever just to come over so we could order drinks, and then again when we wanted to order food, and when one of us questioned the manager and staffs behaviour, we were given disgusting attitude in return and were even questioned ourselves as to what other kinds of restaurants we had been to, well ill tell you were, much better ones, we will never be returning to this place and anyone who is thinking of going there and is reading these reviews, AVOID this place at all costs.

Extremely overpriced, rude staff especially the owner and pathetic rules as if they think they are some top classed central London restaurant, but don't even have fever tree tonic, only your bog standard Schweppes. Plus a £36 bottle of Prosecco was added to bill that we never had and who knows when your on a large table how many other drinks were added that we didn't have either. So watch your bills. Would never go back.

The service was terrible and was misable like they didn't like us we was all sober ,we was a table of 9 only two males in group. I nearly got a dinner fork in my face as the waiter picked up the unused cutlery ,had to go to the bar to get our drinks as we was blanked . The singer was good but sang the same songs over and over and far to loud to even talk to eachother we couldn't see the karaoke type singer as there was a brick wall in front of our table the food the starters wasn't nice two of my daughters got the wrong order they didn't eat the main meal was terrible with bits of chicken not cooked .I would not recommend this at all very over priced and walked out hungry the place was decorated nice

Overpriced, bad table service had to go to bar twice to order drinks, no water left on table which is a problem when you're waiting so long for drinks, the decor is nice but kind of strange, the music is too loud, most people like to chat whilst they are having dinner but it was like nightclub level music the food was ok'ish definitely not worth the price though. Overall I'd never go back much nicer places to dine with friendlier staff

Have eaten here a few times and never disappointed. This is a glitzy Turkish restaurant with great food and good drinks options. It has a buzzy atmosphere and live singer on the Saturday night that we went. Good portions and attentive friendly service. Will be back.

Wow wow wow and wow is all I can say about my experience at this beautiful restaurant. I booked a table for 35 people for my daughters 18th birthday. The food was amazing, ambience was lovely, staff were attentive, professional and patient considering they were dealing with a large table and even better my daughter said she had the best time and the staff made her feel very special. We will definitely be returning to this beautiful restaurant. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Veysos for making my daughters birthday memorable.

It is good that I didn’t check reviews before our visit today. This was our first time here and we were so impressed! Excellent value for money and very professional service. We had three course set menu for a lunch. The starters were very good: I had shrimps with chilli sauce and my husband had cacik yogurt dip with the bread- very tasty. The only downside is the bread..I wish it had more flavour in it. The main dishes were amazing: I had a grilled salmon with mashed potato and salad- the taste of salmon was unforgettable-perfectly grilled. Mashed potato and salad was also full of flavour. The dessert was rice pudding with some vanilla and the Turkish coffee. ☕️ The wait staff was super kind and attentive and atmosphere was perfect, not too loud and exquisite decor. Especially thanks to Hassan and Lily for their professional service. We could not feel more welcome. Very friendly prices as well- our bill was 37£!

Value for money is really poor in this place. We recently visited and left very disappointed. Although the decor and atmosphere is great, if not a bit pretentious, the quality of the food was poor. We ordered a chicken Shish and a Lamb Shish, the chicken was dry and the lamb was severely undercooked and extremely fatty. We had to take the lamb back to be cooked properly however due to the meat being so fatty it was almost inedible. Rice is also no longer included with the Shish unlike most Turkish restaurants so yet another additional cost on an already expensive dish. We also felt as friendly as the waiters were, they wanted us in and out as soon as possible.

Beautiful place, stylish decor and lovely food. We had dinner at Veyso's last night and we'll definitely be going back. The food was superb and the service just as good. Our food was ordered and bought out very quickly, it was just yummy, very tasty and catered for all our tastes. The waiter service was also on point, very helpful and lovely staff. Excellent place for a meal out, fab 👌 👏 👍

First time here. We visited for my daughters birthday and ordered from the lunchtime menu. The waiting staff were amazing, attentive and polite. It really is an exquisite restaurant with beautiful decor. We ordered the falafel and kebabs which were beautifully presented and delicious. The portion sizes are excellent and a good size and we also tried the cocktails which were also refreshing. It is a very clean restaurant and the added touches of the waiters putting the napkins on your lap and refilling your drinks as they near empty, adds a touch of class that you rarely find in restaurants. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for couples or for someone who wants an upmarket restaurant for a special occasion.

Dropped in for the two course lunch meal with a Turkish friend today. Outstanding meal, interior design and service. Well worth the money. We both liked it. It was like a mini break.

Just got home after the best Birthday meal ever at Veyso's in Hertford. Given that there was me (birthday boy) my wife and two girls and we ALL actually agree on something for a change, it must be good. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was out of this world. Definitely a bit special. Big 'Thank You's' to the staff who made it so special. We shall return. Can't say fairer than that.
