5a, Madford Retail Park Ware Rd, Hertford SG13 7RQ, United Kingdom, England
We use this Costa after parking at the retail park, however the customer service levels are not good enough iām afraid. For example, such as today, and fair enough he was trying to make a joke I think, albeit it was prolonged and it felt a bit like he was trying to pressure us into buying another drink (as we only bought one to share), ādo you not want a drink - how about a glass of water?ā, it was one of those things where if I knew the guy then I could/would have a laugh, but I donāt and it was in front of a busy shop. However my rating is based across a lot of visits, and reflective of the collective experience.
Really great place, food was amazing such rich flavour combinations. One of the best meals we've had in Hertford. We had the sizzling cognac chicken and the mixed grill bhuna. Will be going back. Lovely welcoming staff, always nice to support a small family run business that's been a part of hertford for years!
My relative stayed in Room 37 for 2 nights on 23/8/2024. The room is not properly prepared. There was no shower gel, no shampoo. The shower cubicle's drain was totally blocked. It's impossible to have a shower. They have to go the nearby relative's room to have a shower! They told me till they checked out!
Please make sure the room is well prepared and ready for the guest for future.
Thank you.

The food was cold the chips was soggy and the garlic mushrooms was cold and such thick chunks of mushroom and barley any garlic on wasnāt nice at all some of the curly flies were cold and hard at points only semi good thing was the hummus and pitta bread, food was quick and delivery was quick
Cannot give any stars as at 20:15 (a couple of minutes before actually), could not go in as closing. Please update your website and make sure it says closing. I find it very frustrating that businesses close as not a lot of people frequenting at that time. As a shift worker this happens all the time! š”
Maybe they have new owners, something is different, they were never cheap, but now they are very expensive, take away fish and chips, food was ok but doubt we will return
Way back 40 years ago I was a regular Saturday night customer along with my then husband and step-daughter. Jon and his parents ran it and it was excellent. I moved away 19 years ago and came back to try it but the menu was poor and no different to a pub. I have not been back for years. However I returned this week and was not disappointed. My friend had the lamb tagine as she wanted a main meal and I had a jacket potato as I eat a main meal in the evening. Both excellent as was my decaff latte and my friend's G and T. We will return.
I booked afternoon tea here to celebrate my birthday with my family. There were 13 of us in total. I only booked a fortnight before, and had never in fact visited previously. I was pleasantly surprised, we were seated in the conservatory, with lovely views of the grounds. The staff, service, and food were all excellent. We all had a wonderful time. Thank you so much!
