Sheko's Kebab in East Hertfordshire

Have order from here in many occasions, food is ok but customer service a nightmare. Had a delivery of a meal that stated comes with salad and dip, turned up with no salad or dip and when called was told we can deliver salad in half an hour and apparently even though it clearly states salad and dip it’s free and not included. Offered no refund or anything very disappointed

Food was cold and portions very small for the price. I wouldn't order again

ORDERED 2 PIZZAS THEY BOTH WAS RACK AND BURNT WONT BE ORDERING FROM THERE AGAIN ITS A BAD PLACE TO GO

Ordered a delivery, said it was going to be 45 minutes.. an hour and a quarter later I called to check, the man was nice and apologised that the order hadn't printed. He said he will do it quickly now and give me a free drink. Pizza was fine, humous and bread included just one bit of pitta bread (like you could buy from a supermarket) which I thought was a bit stingy and the free drink which I thought might have been a bottle was just a little tango can! Sign of the times maybe!

Best shawarma in town bar none. Come if you want an authentic Syrian food experience!

Been having their food for 10 years, first fast tried in U.K, since that time any other fast food that I tried here or any other regions, never been close to their taste, service or quality of Shekos. They might not get it always right, good I know that in 10 years, but they always make up for it and make it better and always listening, even if you don't realise it, you will do on your next order. Shekos, always there, always reliable, amzing taste and quality, great service and training given to all new staff. It might sound as a to be to good, but been a Business Manager in catering for several years and this is my opinion. Thank you guys for making my dinners,l unch and snacks amzing!!! 👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍

Really bland, the meat had 0 flavour and 0 spices, there was no chilli sauce at all. Literally some cubes of chicken in a pitta. That was it. Very disappointing, the only reason I ordered from here was it was the last place open. Will not order again.

I ate here when staying in Bishops Stortford. They are more expensive, smaller portions and not as fresh. Served quickly and local to my hotel.

Ordered delivery on Monday 5th Feb 2024. Food was fantastic. Delivery was quicker than the 45min estimate. Will use again.

Don't order from here if you're hungry. Not sure if they were running out of meat but what we ordered was more sized as a starter but priced as a main. Don't think I'll order from here again.

Worst kebab I’ve ever eaten. Hardly any meat, loads of salad, no sauce (despite asking for it), bread soggy and £9.50! Absolute cowboys

I had order chicken pizza and chips on 4th October 2023 around 9 pm. when those came, l was so hungry and l didn’t care about very much the foods unusual colours. And 6 hours later l had very bad vomit, and for 2 days too. l had food poisoning, I would die, it was very very difficult. Please be careful because of this place.

New owner was rude and brought a bad vibe.

Food as always was nice…… but it took nearly 2 hours for the food to be delivered when it did turn up, the chips was cold, and the kebabs was warm at best. The other kebab shop on the otherside of town is miles better.

Expensive food anyway, placed an order for over 20£ and was called asking for an extra £1 for cheese! This is no way to treat your customers, very petty and dis- tasteful to ask regular customers for an extra pound for some cheese ontop of their meal having already paid top price for a very basic meal

Awful. Took my money and then pretended nobody had took my order. All looked blankly when I suggested they had took my cash. Somebody needs to own up and have dignity and just admit they forgot my order. At the end of the night i am £12 short which isnt the end of the world, however they will never get my service here again. Better kebab shops elsewhere.

Popped in for a takeaway, Donna kebab plus all the trimmings and a chicken shish kebab both with salad all made in less than 10 minutes. The portions were very large but the price was very reasonable. Staff all very helpful. Would not hesitate to return.

Had a delivery , first of all wasn’t very happy that there was no choices to add sauce , second of all ,once we recieved our order , not only was it cold my chips were soggy!! I am not very happy

Only done delivery, but everything we've had has been delicious! Highly recommended for a delicious kebab or even a drunken night foody (we've done both multiple times)!

I have rated this place as 3 stars around five years ago but there’s a new management so I guess it will be unfair to leave my previous review. So here’s the update. Rating got to be increased as the management is a lot better compare to last one.’ Food is indeed hot and fresh. If I owned this place I will work on 2 things. 1: Taste of food , the food especially lamb kebab is way too salty and greasy. Chicken shish is nice and tender but taste is not quiet there yet. 2: I understand it gets really busy at times like weekend nights. But I will definitely recommend working on friendliness of staff. Have a good one.

Diner kebab not salads and chips but I paid full price

Wow. After bad experiences at the kebabery I was hoping for a good kebab in Stortford. Shekos is outstanding.

Had a driver turn up order was short and he had the cheek to walk away from my 11 year old without even offering the change. Won't be going back.....

Shekos special was absolutely lovely served 4 adults easily If you have guests round for drinks and want to eat without the hassle of cooking I recommend this. Call directly to order as Just eat add charges!

Ordered £40 worth of kebabs, they was saturated in oil to point we couldn't even eat them didn't taste nice and went in the bin. Would not recommend or eat again.

The best thing to order from there is the chicken donner pizza! It’s so good just need to improve the dough/base then it will taste even better.

Ordered food to be delivered to the hotel over the phone everything was confirmed. Nothing arrived after ringing and waiting for 2 hours at 12 o clock at night we waiting up in the hotel lobby until 2am incase we missed a phone call, after ringing after an hour had passed we were told the food was 20 minutes away only for us to wait an hour for nothing to show, we were absolutely lost for words ridiculous beyond belief what went on. 30/07/2022

Very bad experience.Worst kebab i ever eat in UK. I order large kebab they give me small.,not very clean and super expensive.Never recommended.

We always have a meal from here on a Saturday.. The food is nice ..tonight my son had to re heat his kebab...One thing I harecis having to warm up a meal. Also last few deliveries including tonight the delivery driver just stood there handed our food ..took the money and walked off!!!Not one word came out of his mouth!!,I always tip but so glad I didn't tonight.Obviouslty doesn't want to do the job as his attitude is just rude.He needs to be replaced or given a course inManners!!

Excellent food, great price and quick delivery

This is the second order I've had from here in the last 2 weeks and I got to say the food was a lot better then the previous one but the delivery driver is the most rudest person I've known ask the person on the phone to get driver to ring and not knock so doesn't wake my grandson didn't phone but banged on the glass with his keys so loud it woke him up and didn't get my complete order second time at 01.00am done the same banged on the glass not even a sorry wont be ordering from here again and hopefully others will follow until something done about the driver absolutely disgusted with the service

The shish kebabs here are always of the highest quality lamb and the service is friendly and fast. It's well worth the effort to collect as we live in outside the delivery area and really enjoy an occasional Shish.We discovered this place after giving up on other delivery places like Flames Grill who just kept disappointing by using poor quality & chewy cuts.Keep up the high standard we're used to and thanks for great food!

I ordered a pizza and large chips ect. The pizza dough wasn’t cooked, the pizza itself wasn’t satisfactory! Very wonkily cut if they even tried to cut it, I had to do it myself all slices were different proportions like a 10 year old could of done a better job! Large chips, the portion sizes aren’t exact, more like a small! The next day I have an upset stomach! Disgusting I would advise to look elsewhere for better value and service!

Very basic kebab, just meat with a bit of red cabbage and onions chucked on the side. It was 2 in the morning, so maybe better at a more sensible time of day.

Very disappointed put a simple order in and only half of it arrived. Immediately called Shekos while delivery guy stood in front of me they reassured me the rest would be delivered but insisted I pay the delivery guy for the order so I did in good faith and guess what the rest of the delivery never arrived even though the delivery guy was a whiteness.

don't know whats happened used to be absolutely delicious but lamb doner / chicken meal I had tonight with missus was mediocre at best and has really strong charcoal smell. Sorry but meat was not flavoursome at all very disappointed. Has there been a change of management / cooking staff ? Also ordered large portion of chips too but was not what I would class as a large portion

Not as good as they used to be. Food quality is ok, but the prices have gone up and the portion sizes have gotten smaller. A bad combination considering it’s about £7 for a small doner kebab now, that ‘just’ fills you up. If you’re really hungry and add some hot wings or chips to that, you’ll be almost £10. The family platters are better value, but for one person you’d be eating kebab for dinner for weeks. If you’ve had a night out and you’re walking by, it’ll do but compared to those in Woodgreen and Enfield they’re really not worth it now.

I found the kebab to be very bland and extremely chewy, I wouldn’t eat from here ever again and the prices are too high, the short funny looking guy who thinks he’s a boss man lol has got way too much attitude, even the delivery guy went and ate from the chicken around the corner (says something that does)

Two dishes with one small salad to share while we ordered 2. Wrap with only chicken inside when ordered all salad as well. Very bad. £20 for 5 pieces of chicken, a bit of sakad and tub of lamb doner and kofta. Joke

Shocking food delivered tonight, chicken wrap with all salad was delivered looking like a soggy mess with 5 bits of chicken & a small portion of salad to share between 2 kebabs. Usually so good & have been eating from here for years

Ordered a lamb doner, huge portion and was nice taste. Driver was friendly. Unfortunately did not finish my food after I tried the salad. My cabbage was off, as it had a sour wine taste and was discoloured. My lettuce and onion was not fresh. As they were also discoloured. It put me off my meal :( Sadly was my favourite kebabery, but wont be ordering again.

Ordered and paid for one thing a received something completely different once home and no attempt after calling to fix issue. Will never use again. Greasy chewy lumps of meat. Nasty.

In addition to typical lamb and chicken, there's also vegetarian dishes such as pizza, veggie burgers and veggie kebabs. I ordered a veggie kebab and was surprised to see the staff cut up fresh onions, peppers and mushrooms, place them on a skewer, and cook them over charcoal. The chips were also freshly cooked and crispy. Delicious! Staff were also very nice.

Ordered a few times from here and it’s very hit and miss. Lamb shish always fatty. The kofte is ok but they have now raised the prices and it’s well expensive for a very very average kebab. Wont be ordering again.

I went there this evening as it was highly recommended by a friend . I ordered on line on my way back from London . The web ordering was easy and was happy to pay the £1 on line surcharge. It was an easy order of 2 kebabs with all the salad and chilli sauce. Got home and in the bag was 2 plain pittas with plain meat inside . No salad at all or chilli sauce. I phoned immediately and their response was ‘what do you want us to do about it ?’ It just went in the bin. Thanks for nothing .

Delivery driver was rude over the phone and kept shouting at me. Staff in the store are lovely but lost stars for the delivery drivers.
