It is so lovely to see a lovely bakery with items all freshly baked on the premises. The pastry on all their range is amazing, tasty and just the right side of crisp. The fillings are plentiful and delicious. The cake range is eye popping with beautifully balanced ingredients. Lovely rolls and fresh bread. Staff are welcoming and polite and on dry days you can sit outside and watch the day go by.
Now, I will talk about the coffee. This unfortunately was a great disappointment. Despite two of us asking for stronger versions, it was to be frank like dishwater. I don't enjoy saying this but I was too embarrassed to say anything at the time.
Do not let this distract you from the bakery itself. It is treat to have it on the precinct.
They lied to UberEats telling them that I cancelled my order when I did no such thing! Now I’m fighting with Uber to get my money back because they lied!
Edit: thankfully UberEats saw my evidence as valid as my proof was clear and honest. So I will be refunded, but honestly what a horrible business practices.
Waited an hour and a half for main meal. Pizza is supposed to be ‘fast food’ They were too busy doing takeaways which they were prioritising. Kids were starving! Won’t be going back anytime soon.
I ordered on Uber eats and 1 item was missing rang the shop and they said it is in the bag I said it’s not in the bag but he didn’t listen and the driver was there own delivery driver who delivered the food
Five of us lunched here yesterday. It wasn't busy and we had a nice round table by the large window. Waitress was attentive but should have mentioned that what seemed like half the menu was unavailable when we tried to order. No fish at all, no mussels, calamari, gambas, fishcakes, king prawn spaghetti, fish and chips, seabass ... it would be quicker to list what WAS available. Then they ran out of London pride beer after we'd had three pints between us, and had no other ales other than lager. My wife's chicken was undercooked; the leg was red and it wasn't the marinade as the waitress attempted to claim. We recognise raw meat when we see it. We did send it back and it was replaced with a pasta which was OK, but by then our main aim was to eat up and leave. They took off the service charge which was reasonable, but an apology from the manager for the lack of choices and the undercooked food would have been appreciated. Sadly we won't be returning.
