The best restaurants in New Town Colchester East of England

Went to see a local band playing at this pub. A very small place, but a very lively atmosphere. Staff are super friendly and despite it's reputation is actually a very safe pub and a really good night out. Drinks are a good price and everything was perfect on our visit.

Mother clucker burger was excellent, tried with rosemary chips, excellent combo. The kids loved their burgers too and got one of the kid's meals free. Would definitely recommend

DO NOT EAT HERE - my partner ate here yesterday and now has food poisoning. Threw up all over the bedroom floor, was vomiting on and off for the entire night, aswell as running a high fever and other grotesque food poisoning symptoms.

Had the club sandwich and breakfast 5’’ bap was lovely specially the coleslaw and staff very friendly.

I’m missing food and couldnt get hold of anyone

Had a lovely time at lunch, food was lovely, and there were plenty of choices to be had.

Went for lunch with a group of friends and we had a lovely experience, the staff were polite and attentive and the food and atmosphere was really nice also.

Amazing place to stop in for a pint. Bartender and patrons were incredibly friendly to slightly lost tourists. Highly recommend taking a break and enjoying a nice place.

Booked via their booking app - got confirmation via email - arrived promptly only to find it was shut! But of a joke really !

Another scrumptious fish and chip tea. Consistently good as usual. You need to try them you'll become a regular. Warm and friendly part of Newtown community.

Al llegar nos llevaron a una mesa con no cubiertos. Un miembro del personal, literalmente tiró 8 cuchillos y tenedores en la mesa para establecer allí. No hay servilletas o cualquier otra cosa. Nos quedamos muy impresionados por el comportamiento grosero. Nos levantamos para ir al buffet y me dijeron a sentarse y que íbamos a ser traído entrante. Un poco de comunicación hubiera estado bien! El primer plato era dos cubos de pollo cebolla un duro correosos bhaji samosa y un pequeño. No me gusta la cebolla bhajis o samosas, así que cuando voy a un buffet es porque me gusta elegir lo que quiere comer. El buffet no era mejor. Fue limitada y la carne era duro y difícil. No volveremos muy pronto. No podía salir de allí lo suficientemente rápido.

We have finally dined in Tandoori Villa after living not far away from the place for a couple of years. We can say this place is like to become our preferred dinner spot. Food tasted great, place has a proper homey vibe and prices are more than reasonable. You can bring your own drinks. Pleasant service and quick service.

Brought ice cream in their very expensive and hardly open closes early for summer, need todo better snacks foods ie hot dogs burgers pizza etc

Went here for Sunday lunch with our two children, 11 and 13. There were two menus to choose from, a set menu and a bar and lounge menu. 3 of us opted for fillet steak and chips, it was superb! It really was, seared and cooked to perfection. My daughter had a ceaser salad which she said was the best she has had. 3 of us had a cream tea which included 2 scones and a hot drink for dessert. The chef did not have any scones left but advised he was happy to make them but it would be a 20 minute wait. They were the best scones I have ever tasted! Well worth the wait and nice that they prewarned us. Lovely Sunday lunch in lovely surroundings, a lovely treat
