Came here earlier today, the food was 10/10 and the hospitality was on point, manager was extremely friendly checking in regularly along with the other staff, we’ll definitely be back! Thank you 😊

We have been here many times, the food is always delicious and I love the way the owner will make special dishes if you ask him to suprise you. The events are also very good.

Lovely tasting genuine Indian food

Sadly this use to be out go to Indian, it’s just as good as it used to be. Chicken tasted weird . We ended up my throwing it away.

This is the first time I have ordered from this restaurant, the food delivered 10 minutes late, even though they had enough time to prepare and cook, items are missing from the order, ordered peri peri chicken and chips and I am still looking for both items.

very disappointed with this order. missing items and late. We've ordered from here multiple time and the quality has gone down. My family all thought this order was from a different/ worse restaurant. I hope the quality improves but until it does we won't order from here.

Possibly the worst ribs I have ever had. Trying to find some meat amongst the thick layers of fat an absolute nightmare. Would never order ribs from here again.

Food was tasty but 2 portion of chicken wings i ordered what was for a 5 year old and way too spicy 4 a child. They should specify on the menu grilled wings with Indian spice. lucky she enjoyed my lamb chops that were perfect.

Not being a massive Indian foodie I opted for a meal from The Grill, I had Garlic King Prawns and wow they were awesome, husband also had a meal from The Grill, he had the lamb chops, which just melted in your mouth, Bob the owner is very friendly and made us feel very welcome, will definitely visit again

Absolutely amazing must visit, authentic Indian food. Ambience is absolutely nice and best thing have free parking.

So me and my partner walk in and get greeted by the waiter who looked out of it. He came to the table and asked if we wanted to order three times after we had already ordered. Diet Coke and Coke £3 a go for a can the Diet Coke came flat and warm. We asked for buffet as it stated on their fb page 6-9 Wednesdays 18.95 per person he said not today and then the table next to us asked for it and they said yes. It was the main reason we booked here for a valentines meal. The samosas were under cooked onion Bajhis were burnt and no flavour at all. Naan bread had barely any bread was just pure crisp. Really bland food. Got the bill couldn’t read any of the writing no prices on nothing was charged £55 for god knows what. Disappointed ruined a valentines night out rare night out without the kids. Such a shame. Weird music kept cutting in and out through the meal was strange vibe. owner seemed nice though.

Fantastic food, great service and reasonabley priced.

My husband and I went on a Sunday night for the buffet at £18.95 each. When we first entered we didn't get a proper welcome, it felt like the staff didn't care. We were shown to our table, plenty of space and enough privacy to feel intimate. Food was average but nothing special. I had a seat looking at the kitchen and I am pretty sure I saw our rice come out of the microwave. We didn't have to wait long for our food considering there was only 2 other groups dining. Overall, overpriced for what it is and would expect a better experience for the price we paid. However, we had plenty to eat and enjoyed various dishes. Strongly recommend doing the buffet as you get better value for money.

Fantastic restaurant , large open seating, you're not sitting 2ft from the next table, clean and tidy inside. They do a buffet that is a set menu each as much as you like. The last time was £18.95 but it has been cheaper. I have eaten a lot of Indian food over the years, and I really rate this place. It's in my top 3 Indian restaurants. Bob and his team make all the effort to make you feel welcome and never rushed. I would give Sunday buffet a go and see how you enjoy the food. "It's banging"

Great welcome, excellent selection available and full of flavour, efficient service,clean and well presented, will definitely be back.

The packaging and taste not worth the money

Beware everyone. They charge extra in bill to fool you. Always check the receipts. Staff and food both are worst. Never visit this place. Had horrible experience yesterday.

Over hour late and got told printer not working asked for money back and got nothing as I said didn’t want food - not reimbursed

Poor observation from staff, they had an event so should have employed more staff to cater for other diners. We asked for condiments in 3 occasions and were given bottles instead of condiment bowls. The food was bland, whole chicken was over £30 but the size of the pieces were very small. Would I go there again, definitely not. Should have saved my money for nandos

Great food, recommended to everyone I know and they all said the same. Awesome tasting food at good prices I highly recommend to everyone.

The food here was superb but the actual service let us down considerably. Seemed to have lots of staff but took almost half hour to order! Also the tables were back to back with each other and consequently we had a very loud group behind us so we couldn't hear the singer.

Worst briyani I ever had! They chopped one chicken tikka and sliced it into 5 pieces and delivered that as 4 pieces.

I was really hoping for a nice meal but it was pretty awful. The Tikka Massalas were tasteless, the rice was hard. The Naans and burnt… the only nice bit was the mango chutney

Food was below average. Tried alot of varieties starters were below average. Curries and biryani don't even bother to try. Except appadam nothing was good tbh.

Never expected it would be this disappointed. Not as excited as the name of the dishes. There isn't any difference between the taste of dishes. Not suitable for the people who literally crave spicy taste.

Very disappointed in both meals , truthfully the worst Indian I’ve had . The high prices certainly don’t justify the meal . Naan bread very small and dry as well , papadums was like yesterdays papadums . Certainly won’t be using ever again

I had a lovely veg madras with pilau rice and bombay alloo and four poppodoms. The order arrived quickly and the food was hot. The delivery driver smiled and said they'd added a few extras for free. I definitely recommend this place.

When I first put the order through, I was advised that if I spent £8.60 more I would qualify for a 35% discount on the full bill. I ordered more food to take me over the additional £8.60 and sure enough 35% was deducted. I paid, but then received my receipt and the 35% hadn't come off so I'd paid full price. I called the restaurant but they said it was nothing to do with them, but it was down to Just Eat. Please refund me the appropriate amount.

Three dishes of the order were great, but the others were very disappointing and lacking taste. Because of the delay in the delivery, the food was only lukewarm by the time it arrived.

Is this for real??? Worst curry I have EVER ordered in my life. The grease was pouring from the chicken curry and leaked all over my kitchen, the rice wasn’t even delivered, the naan was so sorry looking and a weird colour and don’t even get me started on the pathetic salad chucked on top. It all went straight in the bin. Would rather go hungry.

Once upon a time food was nice and actually turned up on time in comparison to other indian & chinese takeaways around Colchester. The standard british fat man/women would approve, fo real! Would've got 5* but it wasn't a mouthgasm. The end.

Prawn korma was lovely but couldn’t order rice. Starter platter was awful.

Bought the food via Colchester Eats, when the food had arrived the chicken burger came with a slice of cheese in which it didn't state it would have on the menu and the person that wanted that burger has lactose intolerance, all other chicken dishes had dry and chewy chicken and so we had binned it all after tasting. Called the restaurant in which they just said "boss not in can't do anything, call tomorrow" and kept doing that until I couldn't bother at all (4 days), did the same via Colchester Eats until 1 week after when I got told "we asked if you wanted a replacement (they didn't) and we can only provide you a voucher for money off. Completely horrible won't get food from here again.

Honestly the worst food I have tried in my life. The food was bland, under cooked and not fresh. Not only the food took very long to come (we were the only ones in the shop at the time but ok), there was no spice and was very dry and even the chicken was undercooked. I am not sure how this restaurant has a lot of good reviews. Maybe they haven't tasted good food before.

A very disappointing experience. We went there looking at the review and thinking for a 4.5 star review, the food must be amazing, however not only the food took ages. The food was awful, we ordered 2 platters and the ribs were cold and rubber like. Chicken don't taste good at all. We went there hungry and it was very saddening to leave there unhappy and unsatisfied and still hungry and sick from the food we did eat. We gave the owner/chef our hi est review, hoping they would improve.

Most bland food we ever had. The ribs and wings was undercooked. We went there because of the high reviews but after having the food I dont know how they got such a review. Giving the one star only because the staff was very pleasant and attentive.

The staff treats everyone nice and the food is phenomenal. A lovely place to eat at if looking for Indian or grill food.

I got some burgers that was really tasty I enjoyed it

I got a burnt chapatti, peri peri chicken that doesn’t taste like peri peri. Four vegetable dishes that taste exactly alike no difference in spice or taste and all swimming in oil or ghee to the point where I can’t actually eat it. My delivery time was changed twice so waited two hours from the time order was placed.

We have been here several times, every time we have thoroughly enjoyed our meal, great portions and amazing service. We would highly recommend.

Ordered a take away complete wrong order then dont answer their phone so you can try and ammend it. Will not be ordering from here again

Unfortunately there was only one pilau rice delivered, we ordered two. Other than that the meal was very good.

I don't how others can like this place? It's the most disgusting bland food I have ever tasted. No tandoor is used. The nann was raw and flat. Curry no better than chip shop curry sauce with a few herbs in. Bombay potato over cooked mush. Weirdest looking lime pickle I ever saw? I hate to give bad reviews . Maybe they have changed hands ? This tastes like English cooks trying to cook Indian food and failing miserably. I hate to do this but we are so disappointed.
