The best restaurants in East of England

Fabulous food, freshly cooked. If you want proper Italian food, I recommend it. I had seafood spaghetti and the shellfish were all cooked perfectly. It’s obvious that quality ingredients are a priority. The wine was excellent too. A bit on the quiet side so no need to book.

Great service, food is great and the staff very kind. The place is amazing . We will definitely go back again very soon !!!

If you are an Aunt Bessie fan, then this is spot on! The food was edible but I am certain that everything came straight from the freezer and none (or very little) was home made/cooked.

Lovely pub, friendly service and beautiful food. The roast and seabass with prawns and muscles were all cooked beautifully.

Beautiful ambience which is what pulled me into the place walking past. Lovely staff and service, I would have stayed only that I was going for dinner. By the r time we left it was full up with a lovely buzz about this place. I am not local but will definitely return again to try more drinks and the food. Highly recommend

We went to Hoveton Hall Garden on a rainy day. We stopped at the cafe twice. Once for drinks and then for lunch. The fish finger sandwiches were great. We had toasted banana bread with honey and a brownie. Both were fantastic. Both members of staff were lovely and really helpful. The barn was lovely and warm with the log burner. Many thanks for great service.

Visited on 2/10/23, in my 19 years ive never seen my father so ecstatic about a restaurant. We all loved the music choice and atmosphere, and the restaurant is very well situated in the peaceful chapelfield Park. The waiters were very friendly and helpful and the food was beyond fault. Can certainly say that this will be a go to whenever we're in norwich. (PS yes, the dirty fries are definitely worth the money)

What a gem; this place is amazing as are the super staff. Beer drinkers heaven with well over 100 to chose from in bottles and cans plus some great draught beers. Come here every year around my birthday and never fail to be made very welcome. Heartily recommend paying this place a visit and its only 150m from Ely Cathedral.

Service was very good food was not good just finished starters and main was bought out it had been stitting under pig lights and was cold chef could be bothered some nice pub but we must of hit a bad night

Had great cocktails, with Jo able to adapt one recipe to make a knockout concoction, her efforts were very much appreciated.

Estábamos alojados en The fellows house Cambridge y decidimos ir a comer algo de su restaurante interno que era el restaurante 16 de Cambridge. El restaurante estaba bastante vacío (20% lleno), que era agradable ya que queríamos una buena cena tranquila. Estábamos sentados en una mesa, sin embargo, como teníamos un cochecito con nosotros, preguntamos si podíamos sentarnos en la cabina, así que aparcamos el cochecito del paseo, nos movieron, sin embargo, la mesa todavía no se había limpiado, así que el camarero lo limpió para nosotros, sin embargo, todavía había un montón de migas en los asientos. Para la alimentación los dos comimos 10 oz de filete de costilla envejecida con salsa de pimienta en grano y salsa Diana. Pedí medio a bien hecho que era perfectamente sin embargo mis maridos pidieron medio pero estaba muy bien hecho que arruinó su red ya que era como comer cartón con salsa Diana y patatas fritas dijo. No estaba muy seguro de cómo estaba en el puesto 16. Hay mejores restaurantes alrededor de Cambridge. Las porciones de bebida son buenas. Tuve una estrella porno Martini y el Prosecco que dieron fue en un vaso de media pinta.

We’ve been coming here for years. The food is always good and a welcoming stop with the dog after a long walk. The only thing that really lets it down is the coffee and cake. I’d love to see some homemade local cakes on offer instead of the prepackaged tasteless ones they sell. You’ve got to have decent coffee and cake after a cold wet dog walk! Norfolk offers great coffee everywhere now and it seems the court yard cafe at Holkham is lagging behind.

We visited Pop Pins twice in August. What an adorable place to eat ice cream and talking of ice cream, you will be spoilt for choice ! There is a wide range of desserts and sandwiches etc all in a very pretty building. There are even sand and seashells along the front windowsill, how cute ! The cafe is small but there is seating outside and a lovely courtyard out the back that is so lovely. Pastel painted walls and pretty garden seats and cushions along with flowers. Such a lovely place to eat and meet with friends and family. The portions are big too. I wish i lived in Frinton so i could visit here every week. Ps theres a toilet too and the staff are very nice.

Not been here for a very long time but it was central to where my friends live. Have to say I didn't have a good experience the first time and sadly it was not much better this time. Food was luke warm and smothered in sauce and tasteless. The restaurant was like a furnace! Very very loud, seems like the go to place for groups of men. Quite rough TBH. Wont be going back.
