As a tea drinker, I always find it difficult to find a good tea shop. My partner and I pop in now and again, and I love it. The quaint little teashop has a lovely food menu and the selection of tea's and coffee's is wonderful. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the ambiance is calm and inviting. The aroma from the tea and coffee is like a comfy blanket surrounding me, and makes me want to curl up with a good book. I look forward to my next visit.
A grouping of five and we had booked but they would have had space anyway! We had the banquet menu. For a set price we were able to order anything off the menu and have as much as we wanted - like a buffet except it was table service and all was cooked fresh for us.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Decor was as expected. A few missing lights but aside from this excellent. The food was delicious, plentiful and fresh. Full of flavour and nothing tasted odd. All piping hot when arrived at the table with fresh plates everything time that were warmed through. Would certainly recommend based on this experience!
Covid Safe, Thoroughly enjoyed the food, so tasty and plenty of it! Even had a few cheeky cocktails. Can’t wait to return. I cannot work out why this restaurant isn’t right at the top of the trip advisor list for Ely? If you haven’t been go!
Got a takeaway Cappucino, sausage roll and biscuits for the dog🤣.
The sausage roll is exceptionally good👌🌟🌟. Coffee is great too. The Jack Russell enjoyed his biscuits, plus a bit of my sausage roll🙄😅.
Service was prompt, efficient and polite.
Totally recommend.
Eight of us ( four couples ) went there on Saturday evening it was all booked in advance.
They had a change of menu which was a slight shame as some had already picked from the on line menu.
They never sold any bitter which was surprising but in all fairness to them they soon got some for one of the guys.
The staff were very nice and very friendly and the food that we eventually picked due to the different menu was superb.
All in all a very pleasant experience and i think we will defiantly return at some point.
Gorgeous meal at Fish & Wish. Four of us went ( my sister and brother-in-law visiting from Australia). My sister and I both have coeliac so we ordered a gluten free cod and chips. The owner was so knowledgable and explained they use a separate fryer. He even brought out gluten free vinegar. It’s really hard to have fish and chips when you can’t have gluten as nowhere does it gluten free so this was great for us. Photo is of the gluten free cod and chips. My husband and brother-in-law had normal cod and chips. The servings were really big and the owner was so friendly. Even though we live in London I’ll definitely go back. My sister definitely wants to visit again during her holiday! So impressed
I stayed at the All Saints hotel Burt St Edmunds approximately 20 nights over the last three month and for breakfast I was looked after by Claire. I travel a lot on business and I can say is the she is a real treasure for your hotel and provided the best friendly and efficient service by far, that I’ve experienced in a hotel.. so, thank you…
Fabulous place. Gail and Scott always welcoming as are the other staff. The food is really good. They do a lunch menu which is good value and their Sunday roasts are brilliant. 3 different sizes to cater for every palate.
Last time we went to this Restaurant was 6 years ago I didn’t like the meal then , I thought I would give this a try again hoped be better quality but actually the meal and Indian spices were worse
The Indian Tikka starter was not flavoured throughout think it may of been frozen. I wanted to try the Traditional Curry’s to test the flavours the Korma was ok but the chicken was not cooked in the sauce
The Chicken Tikka Marsala was the worst I have ever tasted no spices and so oily
Tasted like tomatoe purée sent it back and they just added curry powder to it
The Peshwari Naan worst ever
Overall Staff not the most informative
Really popular cafe located in Adeyfield. The staff are brilliant and very friendly. The food is excellent and comes in huge portions. My nan and I have been coming here for years. Can't fault the place.
We booked into an evening where the excellent food, cooked and created by Lawrence, was paired to the incredible wines of Nethergate - via the Eatons. What an incredible experience. We were taken through a range of different wines all paired with Lawrence's simply brilliant skills as a Chef.
Each course was well thought through - wine with the food. We were given a commentary as to why each wine was paired with each course. Honestly? You simply have to go to experience this uniquely created and delicious food complimented by the wines chosen.
An evening never to forget. I have come home buzzing. Looking forward to the next ones and trying some of the amazing wines with some of Lawrence's beautiful, tasty creations.
The food was served with panache and I am trying to find something to criticize so it is a well balanced review.
Book me in for the next one, please and looking forward to trying some of Lawrence and Laura's handpicked cheeses with the Wines of Nethergate chosen by the Eatons.
Lovely company but the food and wine were incredible. A lifetime bucket list for anyone who wants to experience the synergy of wine with food, with the explanation as to why it matched the food so well.
Thank you. All well priced, too.
(sorry no photos, too busy enjoying the experience and company)
