Fish And Wish in Southend-on-Sea

Gorgeous meal at Fish & Wish. Four of us went ( my sister and brother-in-law visiting from Australia). My sister and I both have coeliac so we ordered a gluten free cod and chips. The owner was so knowledgable and explained they use a separate fryer. He even brought out gluten free vinegar. It’s really hard to have fish and chips when you can’t have gluten as nowhere does it gluten free so this was great for us. Photo is of the gluten free cod and chips. My husband and brother-in-law had normal cod and chips. The servings were really big and the owner was so friendly. Even though we live in London I’ll definitely go back. My sister definitely wants to visit again during her holiday! So impressed

Beautiful little place to eat. Group of 6, booked a sit-down meal. Not one complaint. Albert was a fantastic host. 5 starts from me.

Fantastic little chippy. Welcoming, friendly and fantastic food. Not often a Coeliac gets fish and chips, let alone great ones. The freshly made salad with balsamic glazed dressing was a great accompaniment. Fresh fish, crispy calamari and great chips. Huge treat. Thank you.

The owner was so very welcoming, made us feel comfortable and was really clear what was available to eat. The food arrived and it met our needs and we enjoyed a lovely meal with old friends. Then walking past on the street were some very old friends who we haven't seen for many years but we were all in Southend for a mutual friends Club night so they came and joined us and the staff happily accommodated the enlarged party and all our various demands for food and wine. To celebrate the reunion the owner kindly gave us all a free drink, tequila shots. Whilst I'm sure he doesn't do this for every customer it was a very kind and generous thing to do and, we had a really good laugh and we really enjoyed our time at Fish and wish. Thank you

Amazing place, the staff are amazing, friendly and welcoming. Even cooked my little Dog a sausage! Food was delicious.
