What a lovely experience to share with friends and family. The food was so tasty and the portions are very good! The actually restaurant itself was incredible, with lovely views of the golf course! The service was brilliant and very professional, with great welcoming smiles! The whole team was so accommodating and really went the extra mile. I would highly recommend the lamb dish! The hotel itself really is lovely, extremely clean and well kept. They have great onsite facilities including a full fitness gym with free weights and cardio machines. The pool is a great size and again extremely well kept. The staff are some of the nicest I have experienced, especially those working out of the ‘the view’ restaurant. Lindsey and her team will not only make you incredible food but they will ensure you have an incredible experience here. 10/10 will definitely stay here again. Would recommend the steak if you come for dinner or the eggs royal if you come breakfast. Thank you to all the staff for a great experience

We booked at The View restaurant for an afternoon tea for the family and family friend. The service from the staff was very attentive and friendly and they could not have done any more to make us feel welcome. The Afternoon tea was amazing , the sandwiches were all perfectly fresh and delicious and the cakes and scones were the best we have had in a long time. We had an afternoon tea a few months ago at another establishment in Bury St Edmund’s and this knocked spots off that. Would definitely book again and there was good value for money - we all took some leftovers home with us ! We would throughly recommed All Saints Hotel/ The View for food and drink.

This is my second visit here. Staff welcomed me back as remembered me. Lilith, who works here, is fantastic and always makes you feel welcome. Will always chat to you and make you feel relaxed. I look forward to coming here again next month. Oh, I recommend the steak as it is to die for!

We had a really lovely dinner here during our stay. We selected the Valentines Menu and honestly we couldn’t fault the food. It was excellent value for money, and everything we ate was delicious! Hats off to the chef. Our waitress Naomi was also very attentive and friendly :) overall a wonderful evening.

Fantastic organisation of the Senior Golfers Christmas Lunch for 42 people. In particular the way you had to deal with the last minute changes by us which were dealt with promptly and efficiently. The room was beautifully laid out and some nice Christmas touches were added for the occasion. Lyndsey and team did an amazing job in ensuring we were happy with everything, and everybody had a great time.

Attended a private function in the Gallery on Sunday 17th December. Venue was fine but the food was cold and service slow. This is the second time we have eaten here now and on both occasions our experience has not lived up to expectations

We came to Fornham All Saints restaurant The View on November 19th for a Christmas celebration for our Crib Club. There were 16 of us and we paid quite a bit of money for so-called carvery meal. There were several mistakes made with this meal and we came away disappointed. We were at a long table but instead of table service for drinks we were expected to go to the bar and order our drinks ourselves. The food arrived and was stone cold. There was not enough gravy or vegetables for everyone and that also came out cold. We had to request more vegetables and gravy from the servers. The dessert of pineapple rum with honeycomb came out where the honeycomb was like rock. In spite of this poor showing, my husband and I decided to give it another go with a friend of ours and wanted to take advantage of the Christmas Festive menu. We booked online for lunch thinking we were getting the Festive Menu only to find out that we only booked for a classic menu. The table was not dressed for Christmas. No crackers or centrepiece and we were not allowed to order from the Festive Menu. The reason? We booked online through OpenTable thinking we were able to order from the Festive Menu. There was nothing on OpenTable offering for us to book for the Festive Menu. When we explained, the waitress said we had booked through Open Table and there was nothing she could do and we should have booked directly with restaurant. We had no way of knowing this. The communication between OpenTable and The View was poor in my opinion. Because of the poor treatment by the wait staff we will never go to The View again. Instead, we booked a table at the Bunbury Arms in Great Barton and were very pleased by the quality of the carvery and the good tasting food and lovely wait staff. All friendly and accommodating. Definitely will go back to the Bunbury Arms. Will never set foot in The View ever again.

The Sunday roast was absolutely incredible. My beef was perfectly cooked, and the excellent accompaniments only elevated this fantastic lunch. These sides included: fluffy potatoes, caramelised carrots and a superb purée. I also opted for the extra side of cauliflower, which was equally delicious. This dish was wrapped off by a rich and flavoursome gravy. The service couldn’t be faulted, all staff were polite, attentive and hospitable. Altogether this provided a wonderful experience which we hope to repeat in the very near future.

Booked last minute to take my two children for Sunday Lunch and it was spot on, great atmosphere, wonderful food (so empty plates) and very attentive staff, so mindful of my daughters additional needs without highlighting it - would thoroughly recommend for any occasion. We will return very soon.

Always prefer to stay at All Saints when l am working in the area as the staff at Reception are always so lovely. There’s a slightly different menu so was a little apprehensive this time round. I don’t often eat pork but was a little tempted as it sounded amazing and WOW is all l can say. Best pork chop, mash with mustard sauce and cabbage l’ve ever eaten and l detest cabbage. Hats off to the chef. Not to leave anyone out as the Manager and service staff were bubbly and had excellent customer service skills.

Turned up unannounced as a non-resident of the hotel, trying to find breakfast for me and my dad before golfing (unfortunately, not at this golf course) . The receptionist was very helpful and sent us up to the restaurant to see if they could accommodate us. Much building work is ongoing to improve the facilities and add extra space all of which was not intrusive and did not spoil the ambience. With several tables already eating, we were welcomed, given menus and chose a little table for two which overlooks some of the golf course and the upstairs outside eating area. We both ordered a full English with extra toast and a coffee each. The service could not be faulted, the food and coffee was delicious, and again, I could not fault it even down to the small pots of local tomato sauce and jams. A great experience, topped off by a great facilities and amenities. Now, having googled places to eat breakfast around the area, I knew that we were in one of the more expensive places, and those prices would easily put some people off (£38 bill for the two of us)… I have been in the hospitality trade for over 25 years, run my own business, and other peoples and let me tell anybody that listens and reads these reviews… that it was well worth the money on the back of fantastic customer service great food and amazing amenities, facilities and setting. Well done to all.

My family enjoy coming to All Saints Hotel often. The food is always divine and the staff are actually very attentive. However, this morning during breakfast, there seemed to be a very different atmosphere. Firstly, as I was getting breakfast with my children, the woman who I assume to be the manager, was shouting and swearing obscenities at the chefs. The language used was atrocious. Calling them F**king A**holes etc; which darkened the whole atmosphere while we were dining. This happened Infront of my young children. One of my children began to copy this awful language when we were back at the table. My family and I will not be coming back for a while. Which is a shame because we really do love this hotel. But I cannot risk having my children around such obscene behaviour.

My husband and I met here for lunch on Sunday afternoon, with our lovely grandkids, husband's daughter and son in law. We were blown away by the food we were served ! For starters I ordered beetroot humous with freshly made flatbreads, with sprinkles of fresh rosemary. My husband ordered the squid. For mains I ordered the cod, with freshly made herby croquets, on a tangy sauce that was bursting with flavour. My husband ordered roast pork belly, with trimmings which he really enjoyed and felt very happily full! The dessert was just phenomenal! Dairy free coconut sorbet, with pineapple laced in rum and fresh lime sauce and sprinkles of heavenly honeycomb and pistachio nuts......just wow! Staff were very professional and friendly and everything was served with a smile :-). Thanks for a really lovely afternoon, to all the staff and huge compliments to the chef!! Can't wait to return and try other dishes on the menu :-)

We eat in The View every time we stay at All Saints Hotel. This visit was no different. The food is all beautifully made from lovely fresh, seasonal products. The staff were amazing. Our party of 6 included 3 of us with some quite complex dietary needs and communication prior to our stay meant that all of our needs where discussed with staff in detail and our special needs met and exceeded. The staff where so helpful and just wanted to give you the best possible experience. Amazing staff, wonderful food and all in a beautiful setting. The bar was brilliant to and the cocktails to die for.

Booked Sunday lunch, started out ok with two staff members coming to the table to ask if we were ready to order. As we were waiting for one more to arrive we said not yet both times. After our other guest arrived, and he had to walk past the bar and staff to get to our table, it was disappointing that, after a 10-15 minute wait, I had to go and find a member of staff to take our order. As the menu was quite limited and it was Sunday lunch we all ordered the roast beef. When the food arrived it looked ok until the ‘seasonal veg’ arrived which was leeks. I’m not a farmer but I doubt that leeks are a summer veg. That aside, that’s all that was available. Other veg included parsnips and a solitary slice of carrot. The potato’s were very dry, seemed like they’d been left on the hot plate for to long and the beef was very gristly in places. At a guess I’d say that it was the end of the joint which was probably right as the couple in after us were told that the kitchen had run out of beef. When our plates (well, 2 out of 3 ) were cleared we informed the staff member of the issues. She apologised (not her fault) and disappeared never to return leaving one dirty plate on the table. No one came back to see if we wanted a dessert so in the end I went to pay the bill. The guy behind the bar apologised when I mentioned what had happened and took 10% plus the service charge off of the bill (not that I’d have paid the service charge). What really shocked me when I checked the bill was the cost of a splash of lemonade that my wife had in her wine. £4.50!!! Really! A pint of beer was £6 which I thought was expensive but charging that for a drop of lemonade is discussing. It’s obviously not just the supermarkets that are profiteering. Friends of ours recommended this place, unfortunately I can’t.

It’s been a year since last visiting this restaurant as I’d been disappointed by the competence of the waiting staff last time. Today we were sat at a lovely table in a half empty restaurant for Sunday lunch. It took 30 mins. For our order to be taken but thankfully the food arrived promptly. Unfortunately there wasn’t nearly enough gravy to dampen the dry roast potatoes or the very dry Yorkshire pudding. Where were the waiters to request more gravy? We’d almost finished before we managed to attract the attention of a waiter to bring us some more but there was not nearly enough for all of us and I only just managed to call him back to ask for more. Now finished and wanted the bill. Staff were there clearing tables and we were the only table left but it took forever to attract some attention. Finally the bill came and we were left again unable to pay as we were ignored once more. I had to shout across the, by now empty room. This is not good enough. I don’t blame the young staff but there were senior staff that did nothing to ensure we were happy. The young girl that we paid asked if everything was ok I’m afraid I did tell her what I thought but on reflection I shouldn’t have done that. It wasn’t her fault. I blame the senior members of staff and the management for the lack of proper training. When we did leave (an hour and a half after arriving having had just one course) we passed three staff leaning on the bar chatting. It may take longer than a year before visiting this restaurant again

Haven’t been here for a long time but it was absolutely delicious. Sunday roast beef was awesome. Beef cooked beautifully pink and it was so so tender it literally melted in our mouths. Nice selection of vegetables and yummy Yorkshire puddings. Sticky toffee pudding was light & plenty of sauce too. Yum! Staff were welcoming and the whole service is excellent. Definitely recommend it here.

We had a brilliant family Boxing Day meal at The View. The staff were so accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us creating such a warm, friendly atmosphere. The meal was lovely, perfect portions and my pudding (croissant chocolate/orange pudding) has to be the best I have ever had! We were not rushed and were able to finish a wonderful afternoon with coffee served in the lounge. The ladies gifts were a lovely touch and we shall certainly book for next year.

It started with great communications on booking and menu selection, deposit and prepayment. We had such a wonderful Christmas Day at The View. The food was delicious, the staff were all on great form, there was a lovely warm and friendly environment the whole way through and our party of 13, of all ages, thoroughly enjoyed it. Had the Sunday roast here and it is by far the best food anywhere in Bury. Everything is cooked perfectly and for the quality of food it is very good value.

We booked for my sons' birthday and were not disappointed. We had fish and chips, this came with crushed peas which were delicious along with chips. Our other choices were the steak , again cooked as requested. The waiter was very pleasant, the restaurant over looks the golf course and in summer you can eat outside. As a special desert for my sons' birthday they brought out a brownie wuth ice cream and beautifully written happy birthday in chocolate sauce on the edge of the plate. A lovely birthday meal, we will return.

We ate dinner here with friends recently; the menu has changed since our last visit and is quite ordinary now. The waiting staff were all very sullen; they tried to overcharge us on the drinks and did overcharge us on the food. Pre-dinner bread arrived 30 seconds before our starters. Food was alright but menu now basic.

We visited the view restaurant to celebrate my birthday with close friends. The restaurant is very modern looking and looks amazing following a recent refurbishment. The restaurant overlooks the golf course and has a large seating area on the roof of the club house. Unfortunately we were unable to sit outside due to the rain but we would definitely visit again when the sun is shining for a drink and lunch to enjoy the view.

Visited this The View during a busy Saturday night, and although the restaurant was fully booked, we all found the food absolutely incredible whilst receiving impeccable service throughout the duration of our meal! A perfect setting for a range of occasions or just casual meet-ups!

We held a lunch for 16 people on 7th July for our golden wedding anniversary. Everything we wanted was organised perfectly by Rebecca, who always responded to our e-mail messages quickly and efficiently. The table was decorated beautifully, the service was friendly and professional and, very importantly, the food was delicious. From start to finish the organisation was spot on. The venue is lovely, with an outside terrace and lovely views over the golf course. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and have no hesitation in recommending The View. We will definitely return.

It was with such delight that on impulse we visited for lunch last week to find a new, exciting menu in place; one which clearly reflected a new head chef.

Wonderful food and very reasonable. Hayden and Josh waited on our table and were very professional. This is our second lunch here and the third one booked for September. My favourite restaurant!!

Really lovely restaurant spacious, modern & decorated lovely. The staff we meet were great & wanting to please which makes so much difference.

We visited for Sunday lunch beginning of April and it was the BEST roast we've ever had. The dessert,Chocolate Pistacho Slice, WOW.. superb!! Will definitely be returning.

Maybe one of Bury St Edmunds best kept secrets as the food by chef James Carn is divine?! Saturday night was a proper date night with where we had a taxi and everything! Our meal started with a glass of prosecco, freshly baked bread, olives and the smoothest tastiest chicken liver parfait. Followed by the crayfish caeser salad starter, with a super cheesy and crunchy parmesan tuile and a glass/bottle of Albarino from Spain. Our main courses arrived, and my sirloin steak (medium rare) arrived under a beautiful heritage tomato salad, with a super buttery bearnaise sauce, washed down with a glass/bottle of Bodega Tandem Immune Garnacha. No room for pudding however. A wonderfully romantic evening, with divine food and excellent service.

The View at the newly refurbished All Saints Hotel is now our favourite place to dine! The Sunday roasts are incredible and the food is just beautiful - we recently held a large family dinner there and the service, ambience and food was just superb. We can not wait for sunnier days to enjoy the gorgeous terrace. You must visit you will not be disappointed!

We went for breakfast at the View restaurant on a Saturday morning before heading to the Hengrave Hall (partner venue) for a wedding. As one of the bridesmaids, I was pressured for time so ordered promptly at 08:30 but the food did not arrive until 08:50. I appreciate 20 minutes is not too long to wait for freshly cooked breakfast but I was disappointed to see another table which ordered after us was served before us. To make matters worse, there was no water for us to help ourselves so I ordered it, three times! Only to get it when I ordered it for the fourth time!

We had our annual company Xmas meal at The View and all was excellent. It was lovely to find an organised Xmas dinner that wasn’t the normal fare just plonked on a plate, with 3 tasty courses of good portion, served by some friendly and efficient staff.

Again, The View serves us up a great meal, with terrific service and atmosphere.

Usual gathering of the lunchers to sample the menu at the View. Didn't start too well when our booking wasn't on the list but fortunately there was enough room to accommodate us. Menu was quite varied and there was a Sunday roast on offer as well. Some of us opted for a starter and the soup of the day, leek and potato was tasty! Then there was quite a wait until the mains arrived even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. Most of us selected the roast beef but a cassoulet was on offer, which looked a little dry but was edible. Clean plates all round. Again we waited some time before our plates were cleared away and desserts chosen. Perhaps it was the artistic presentation causing the delay? Also I like a clear table and a clutter of glasses were not cleared away until almost at the end of our meal. The staff seemed pleasant enough but did not intrude unnecessarily. All in all a not too unpleasant visit with a few niggles but good food!

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast here in 2018, the food was impeccable and staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
