The best restaurants in East Midlands

I ordered two hours in advance (scheduled for 20:50 on a Thursday) via the JustEat website. 15 minutes before my delivery was due there was still no notification from the JustEat website stating my food was being prepared so I rang Cochin Fort to ensure my order hadn't been forgotten. Soon after my order was being prepared and arrived 5 minutes late so I would recommend anyone who orders at least a few hours in advance to ring the restaurant if there's no update on their food minutes before the order is due to arrive (just in case the restaurant has forgotten one's order). Also I hope whoever answers the phone doesn't talk unnecessarily while the customer is on the phone calmly explaining why they are calling (I didn't know what the representative was saying so guessing they couldn't hear me I had to ask 4 times if they could hear me before I finally got a confirmation they could and they were unknowingly being rude/making out like they couldn't hear me). The food definitely made up for the lack of the representative's phone etiquette and the fact the restaurant may have forgotten about my food order if I hadn't called minutes before my order was due. Authentic- looking, tasting (I'm of Indian descent myself) and the the food is significantly cheaper than those selling the same food so definitely value for money too. My (non-Indian) housemate said they'll definitely will be ordering from Cochin Fort in the future

Stunning service and stunning gyros!! I'll be a regular now! Great place overall 👌 Location is also perfect for dine in with beautiful outdoor terrace, quiet area.

We can recommend the warmed quiche and salad as they are delicious. Food and cake is as excellent as ever.

Let me start with the positives, the staff, all very friendly and attentive they really were. Unfortunately for us that's where the positives ended, The decor too modern, how people bang on about a traditional style taverna I've no idea, far too crowded we were literally sat on top of the table next to us, I get they want to make money but it kills any idea if a romantic night out for two. Lastly and probably the most important, the ridiculously priced food (which in both mine and my wife's opinion was average) both dishes we ordered came with no sides no vegetables, rice, or even roast potatoes, my Stifado was just that in an earthware pot and at £26 it wasn't like it was cheap. My wife's meatballs we actually thought they'd sent out a starter portion, 4 meatballs sat on the smallest amount of rice with some tomato sauce, neither dishes could be forgiven by exquisite taste, because they just didn't have it. It's a shame as we love Greek food and we always go to one Sheffield on London Road, which is typical Greek, real Taverna atmosphere with mountains of food with the best taste. I'll not mention the name as I don't like to promote other restaurants in a review of another (if your interested you'll find it on Google). This will be our first and last visit for Odyssey.

Hard to review as we never got to eat there! I was meeting two friends and booked via the website. I didn’t receive a confirmation so called and left a message on Wednesday. They text back later that day to say all was fine for Friday. We got there and there was a sign in the window saying “closed due to illness”. No communication received via text, email or phone. Not good after travelling an hour to meet up.

Heard about this secret bar from someone in the The Strait and Narrow. Well worth a visit if you want a unique experience in the style of a speakeasy. No way you would know that this is a bar as it looks like a derelict TV repair shop but in the back is a secret cocktail bar. Staff were friendly, good selection of interesting cocktails to try. Your best to book as its a smallish venue.

Beautiful Pub , Friendly Staff. I had bangers and mash while my partner Crispy Chicken Bites. We both really enjoyed our meals. Didn't break the bank either . Give it a try if you are in the area.

Nice lively pub,serves a decent pint and polite staff

Congrats to the pizza chef and staff. We had booked one of the outside tables as we had our labrador with us and sat near the pizza kitchen. The smells coming from the ovens convinced us to order off the pizza menu, and they were all amazing. Each cooked to perfection, and I'd say the best pizza I've had for many years!!! Order one of these, and you will not be disappointed The bar staff were just as brilliant, being friendly and helpful (thank you for turning on the outside heaters). Even though we were outside, we never felt forgotten, and the team made sure we had everything we needed. Absolutely worth every penny - you need to give this pub a visit.

Staff are very uptight and can’t have a good time -unless they’re having a good time amongst themselves. Could do with better music and a nicer atmosphere. Also the free pour the staff did was inaccurate and the cocktail we paid a premium price for was underwhelming.

Amazing pizza! Highly recommend.

Brilliant pub full of the sound of laughter from friendly people inside & outside - attentive enthusiastic & efficient staff - very very good food at reasonable prices. You must book!
