Been meaning to come here for ages. Finally made it last Saturday. Very impressed with the vegetarian options. All the food looked amazing. Good food, well priced. Lots of space - sympathetic extension on the back makes the pub TARDIS like! Will be back for a Sunday roast some time soon 😋

We visited a year ago a couple of times and food was excellent, so was looking forward to going again. However, this time Jan 24, was very disappointed with the quantity. The food was tasty but the quantity of fries and salad with the burger was poor. My wife’s curry was also a small portion and with no naan or poppadoms. It was really quiet but that was probably due to being soon after Christmas. The Spring menu choice was that great either. Shame as it used to be to be really good.

Absolute avoid like the plague! We booked our Christmas meal here and it was shocking from start to finish. They had far too many people in there which all I can say was purely down to greed. They could not cope with the amount of people in there and we waited for an hour and a half before we had any food. Ordered countless drinks that never arrived and once the food was there it was freezer meat at best. Sat there with our desserts and still had parts of our dinner that had not been cleared. Promised to remove 50% of the food bill but then back tracked and only refunded part of it. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Money making machine and that’s all you cared about!

Overpriced for what you get and seems to be run by inexperienced younger staff missing items off the set menu and gravy like water

Had the Christmas Sunday Lunch today. Absolutely superb in every way. Lovely staff, good atmosphere, great food. Party of seven, everything spot on.

Amazing food and great service!

Really quite cold in the restaurant tonight. £18 for a burger felt too much especially as more expensive than everything else we ordered. Chicken tikka on naan was covered in raw tasting spice paste. Maybe just a bad night?

My meal of belly pork was fantastic however some of our groups burgers were not at their best . However they did their best to rectify the problem.

Possibly the best Sunday roast ive had out, staff were all really friendly and the girl who took our order and waited on was excellent, she was really good fun with no air's and graces but very good at her job. I would recommend the black swan to all and we have already booked again to go to a tapas night.

Another visit to this lovely pub, great surroundings, the food on this Tapas themed night was really enjoyable, again attentive staff. The only downside this Friday evening was the live music, too loud and the duo were quite poor quality

Great experience here, booked us in very last minute, really nice atmosphere in the bar area. Relaxed and modern feel. Staff were very attentive and understanding with allergens. Food was really nice and clearly homemade - great value also! We would 100% recommend if you're in the area.

Dropped in for an afternoon drink. Liked the bar, log fire good beer. Noticed 25% off food on Tuesdays. Went back to holiday apartment and returned for evening meal. The food was excellent as was the service. Brilliant evening. 👏 Thanx Geoff n Jill

My chicken burger came without the mayo and my Eaton mess was basically a bowl of cream with a little meringue and 6 very small pieces of strawberry that would probably be the equivalent of one medium sized strawberry definitely would not recommend. That said my hubby really enjoyed his beef dinner and sticky toffee pud . My friend had the scampi and had so much she couldn't eat it all. Also the floor was wet and extremely slippery very dangerous something should have been put down in the Walkways

Great place to eat and service fantastic. Meals are fresh and presented well and taste amazing. My friend Anna works there Wednesday night behind the bar so she recommended it to us. They have live music sometimes and cater weddings and events. Lovely inside. We'll worth a visit. 😁

Lovely pub inside, in a nice setting. Starters we had which were halloumi fries and meatballs with arrabbiata sauce were lovely. From there it was downhill. We ordered the two different types of skewer, tandoori chicken and the prawn and chorizo. We waited an hour between starter and main and when they arrived both skewers were very poor. The prawns on one skewer were the size of prawns in your Christmas cocktail. And the three tiny pieces of tandoori (not tandoori) dry chicken on the skewer were barely edible. Our complaint about the wait and the food seemed to fall on deaf ears, we won’t return.

Stopped off after a day out I had cajun chicken burger meal,my wife and mum had steak and stilton pie,my mother in law had scampi and chips,all meals were outstanding, we were served by a very friendly young lady it rounded our day out superbly thank you we would highly recommend and hopefully return again thanks👍

Looks a nice place decor nice .not eaten here so cant comment on the food .a lot of who i can only think are locals all stood at bar so have to fight through to get served . And a very strong smell of wet dogs so i was glad i wasnt eating .had a pint and left back into the fresh air

Great village pub with friendly staff

visited tuesday evening with some friends was rather busy but service was still impeccable staff made sure to update us on food as there was a short delay which they was extremely apologetic for, when food arrived it did not disappoint i had the salmon and i can honestly say it was more then worth the wait and prices are extremely reasonable. over all a fantastic evening and fantastic place with amazing staff highly recommend and will be sure to visit again soon. thankyou guys :)

Wonderful lunch, Cajun Spice Monkfish was wonderful, and we didn't realise until we were paying the bill that there is 25% off food on a Tuesday, great value for money!

We visited on a Tuesday evening. We arrived at 6.30pm. We got our food at 7.55pm. We complained around 7.45, and gave them until 8.... I have NEVER had such bad service in a pub. Some locals came in after us, and were served their food first, and left before we even got our food ! We complained about this, and were told they had booked. I don't understand what that has to do with it - if you can't meet the demand, then don't tell people they can have a table. The food was good when it came, although we had kebabs, which should have had a yoghurt sauce. This was missing, so the whole dish was completely dry. When we went to pay, no apology.... Suffice to say, we won't be returning. We stay in this area a lot, but will continue to use the other pubs, of which there are many. So you get 1 star for the food, and 1 star for being doggy friendly, but lose 3 stars for the appalling service.

We stopped off at the black swan after a day out in Leeds on our way back to the Midlands. Absolutely beautiful food, the wild mushroom linguine was perfect, we each enjoyed the meals, perfect end to a good day. Will definitely recommend this place and hope next time we are in the area to come back 😊 lovely staff and great table service

Pretty good food quality and plenty of it too, usual bulky roast and veg swimming in gravy, with a huge Yorkshire atop it! I enjoyed it. Service was great. Large, airy, echoey room with quite tightly packed tables results in each table trying to out-shout the others. Became pretty hot in there when the sun came out.

Best roast pork dinner I can remember. The strip of crackling was the icing on the cake. Excellent value for money, great service and fantastic food. Will definitely be going back 👍❤

Seven of us went for Sunday dinner and it was lovely, you will not get a better roast beef dinner anywhere and the staff were excellent too, they were very helpful and checking if we needed any more drinks. I will definitely be going back and would recommend this place.

We have visited the Black Swan today and have had one of our best meals out. The food was incredible, with fantastic meat and accompanying sides. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate for our 10 month baby. We will definitely be returning in the near future!

Beautiful place , had a super Sunday lunch , wished the chicken had been off the bone . And the garden did smell of dog urine on the warm day we visited. A fabulous place to take someone special!

Amazing food and great service. Have enjoyed everyone we've visited. I've been for the Sunday roast, quick pint and a bowl of chips, and a Saturday evening family meal, and I have never been disappointed.

Just been here for the first time with our cocker spaniel puppy. Beautiful decor as soon as you enter with a restaurant feel, a combination of arts and crafts original with very stylish revamp. The staff were so friendly, warm and accommodating and made a lovely fuss of our dog who was very welcome. The food was really incredible … I had the salmon and I would say it was some of best food I have tasted in years. Moist, full of flavour with very fresh veg including cauliflower cheese … cooked perfectly ( my partner had the cottage pie which was hearty with cheesy mash). This was a wonderful new find … thank you so much for making a lovely winters afternoon even brighter!

It's a lovely little pub that we drive past after day but have never been in. Went for a birthday meal and the staff were lovely. When we mentioned it was a birthday, they searched for a candle to put on the dessert. They couldn't find one, but the gesture was thoughtful. Would recommend going. The pork chop main 😋

Staff were nice, our dog was allowed in the pub and we were served quickly. 3 out of 4 of us ordered the ‘chicken kebab’ dish and I was quite surprised when it came out as it was an oven cooked chicken breast rather than kebab-style chicken that goes well with the flatbread/salad etc, although I will say the chicken was quite moist despite how thick it was. The menu was fairly expensive for what it was in our experience.

This place is excellent in every way,the food,the staff,and the atmosphere. We went up for Sunday lunch,yes we booked a table but was well worth it. Portion size was great and the beef was lovely, we will return no problem.

Managed to get in to eat on a busy Sunday at short notice. We sat in the non formal area. The Sunday roast was awesome.. One of the best I have eaten out. Staff attentive nothing at all to complain about, great place

Nice meal friendly staff, parking not to good

Really charming serving staff, but they have to spend a lot of time apologising on behalf of the (unseen) Manager for (1) food appearing very slowly, (2) the wrong food appearing very slowly and/or (3) not especially good quality food appearing very slowly. This was our experience — and the experience of three of the five tables in the conservatory when we were there. Disappointing — but at least there’s room for improvement. And the serving staff, don’t forget, were charming.

We went for a family sale to this lovely pub. We booked at the last minute and they fit us in. The food was absolutely delicious - freshly prepared and hot. We all had a main meal and cleared our plates. The chips looked particularly gorgeous so if you’re a chip fan, I would highly recommend. There is an option to sit outside at the back of the pub where the view is just stunning.

Nice decor, great staff and a nice menu but.. Q). Is there any cream in the mashed potatoes? A) I will ask the kitchen to check the packaging. That said the food was nice and we would definitely go back.

Lovely country pub. Quick responses to my enquiries and easy to book a table. Great doorstop sandwiches, (only needed 1 between 2,) and home cooked chips. Lovely open fire to sit by on such a cold day. Very enjoyable stop on our 7 mile walk.

We have been twice now and were very impressed with the quality of the service and the food on both occasions. We last went on New Year's Eve and had a lovely evening. Can't wait to go back there.
