The White Hart Inn in Amber Valley

We popped in here as from the previous reviews it looked good. After sitting down and ordering drinks we were told the menu had changed and all the things would thought we would have liked to order weren't available. I am vegan and the selection was 1 item (falafel sandwich) My partner has a BLT. the bacon was cold and the bread was dripping with moisture from the tomato on it. Its a lovely place inside but unfortunately the menu selections were very poor and we won't be returning.

We had our wedding reception at The White Hart and couldn't fault the service from start to finish! Our coordinator Katy was super helpful and always responded to our questions and emails and was very flexible, nothing was too much trouble! Even having three tractors rock up! On the day the staff set out decor up perfectly and were really responsive! The food was incredible and the bar had a fab variety! The hotel rooms were so luxurious with lovely little touches like a hamper with biscuits and face masks and robes and slippers!

Beautiful. Visited for a wedding

We had our special day here in August 2024 and it was everything we could have asked for and more. Mia was our wedding co ordinator and she was so helpful in answering all of my emails and meeting with us to help alleviate some stress when I needed. Our day ran absolutely seamlessly- not one guests unhappy and not one issue. The way they transformed the room was beautiful, the staff were friendly and fantastic and the food was DELICIOUS. The rooms are absolutely stunning as well. I couldn’t have been happier with the overall service. Worth every reasonably priced penny! Special thankyou to Mia and Luke

We held our wedding at the White Hart Inn on Saturday 24 August 2024 and it was nothing short of wonderful. The day was perfect and absolutely seamless thanks to the wonderful staff at the venue. We would like to say a huge thank you to Katy our wedding planner, whose attention to detail, patience, knowledge and care was second to none. Katy expertly guided us through the intricate journey of wedding planning, answered all of our questions and was always super helpful. The wider staff team were also amazing and genuinely couldn't do enough for us. We would highly recommend this beautiful venue. Thank you so much - we will treasure the memories forever. We got married on the 27th August at the White Hart, we absolutely loved our day, everything came together perfectly. The staff were amazing, they ensured our day ran as smoothly as possible! They really do know what they are doing! Any issue we had was resolved quickly, causing no stress. I think the whole package was amazing value for money, the venue has so much to offer and with alot of flexibility. We didn't have a traditional wedding breakfast, we had only one meal as our wedding was at 4pm, so we opted for Pizza. We also hired the casino tables through the venue, we got this through the black Friday offer and it was a huge hit! Katy was our wedding planner and she was very professional and helpful throughout the whole process, she must have been driven mad by all my questions but she was always polite and friendly in response.

Unfortunately not the same as our first visit. Food seems to be different now. Not the standard it was. We had the tapas which is below par to what we expected.

Can not fault the place at all. We had our wedding here in August and the venue and the staff were amazing. We wanted a day that was just relaxed and left to flow naturally and we were allowed to do so. We were sold on the place on our first visit due to the stunning look of the venue and gardens and the relaxed approached from staff. We never felt like we were forced into spending thousands and thousands on food and additional extras which was nice to experience, yes the wedding industry is a business but we sensed they were more interested in you having the day you wanted and listening rather than offering things you wouldn't want. The food choices were great, we went with the barbeque option rather than sit down meal so that we could stay outdoors and let the day flow naturally. We and our guests stayed in the hotel and the rooms were all lovely,spacious and clean and the breakfast the following morning was great too. All in all it's a venue that ticked all the boxes for us and we would encourage anyone to go and at least have a look around this stunning venue.

We recently had our wedding here… what a day! From start to finish the team did an amazing job, a special mention to Katy who has put up with me for a year and half with constant emails with random questions,nothing was ever too much trouble! It was the day we dreamed off and I wish we could bottle it up and do it again, thank you white hart! xxx

A friend got married here and from morning until night, everything was perfect, lovely place to hold a wedding!

We recently had our wedding venue here after searching around for the best place for us. Without a doubt I can say this place is absolutely beautiful and the right decision we made. The views, rooms and overall venue are stunning!!! The staff and wedding coordinators are top notch and are super helpful and friendly! The food was absolutely beautiful and in my top 5 places for best food I’ve ever had. The rooms are so spacious and well equipped with everything you would need and require especially the views which are just amazing! Thanks for such a lovely place to have our wedding! We will be back for the restaurant food :)

Attended a wedding here, such a beautiful setting. Rooms were spotless and very spacious. Definitely would revisit and recommend to others. Breakfast was included and was cooked to order very nice. Only one thing I could change would be the flask coffee. Would be nice if we had the choice of freshly made cappuccino or latte etc. but on a whole it was fantastic

Sunday lunch is well worth trying.

We had our wedding here and after a change of venue due to flooding I just want to say ‘Wow!’ Mia and Luke were so helpful in reassuring us throughout the whole process. The day was perfect from start to finish. We didn’t stay over the night before but on arrival the team made sure everything ran to schedule, and I felt so relaxed and in safe hands. We opted for the bbq option for the day meal and then pizza ovens for the evening. I had worried there wouldn’t be enough food to satisfy our guests but my goodness we were all stuffed and invited up for seconds. The lovely guy on the pizza oven noticed I hadn’t ordered anything in the evening and popped me a pizza in the kitchen to keep warm and take to bed for supper! What a lovely touch, and after a long day to be able to head up to our stunning room with a warm pizza in hand it was just so welcome. The room was just perfect with an amazing jacuzzi bath and complimentary drinks awaiting us. The staff were so attentive and helpful. Cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you for a fantastic experience and a day we will remember

What can I say about The White Hart…. I recently got married here and it was just so beautiful 🥰 the day and evening was just amazing, the staff absolutely fantastic, the atmosphere lush! I was a very hands on bride (isn’t everyone though 👀) and I was made to be so relaxed not had to worry about anything whatsoever! Mia was our main co-ordinator and she was just perfection! The entire staff was! The food was amazing- due to allergies we did have to change part of our menu and it was done for us which we massively appreciated! 🥰 I could go on and on and on about this stunning place but there’s not enough words to describe how amazing it is! Definitely will be returning for our wedding anniversary’s every year 🥰 Thank you so so much for everything 🥰

Absolutely disgusting service from the management staff. Rude and disrespectful to people. £6000 for a wedding and deeply ruined my day. Guests just wanted to dance and one of the staff turned the DJs equipment down, and it wasn’t loud. Disgraceful.

My partner and I got married at the White Hart last week and we just wanted to say what an amazing venue! Our wedding coordinator: Katy was excellent throughout the organisation process and especially on our day. She made it such a stress free period! The venue itself is absolutely stunning and provides so many photo opportunities. Our wedding day was spread across the venue as our welcome drinks and drinks reception was held in the Wingfield Lounge and on the back patio, whilst our ceremony was in the orangery and wedding breakfast in the Moorwood Suite. This enabled a seamless transition into the different stages and made for a relaxed atmosphere. The venue and staff ensured we had the most perfect day and I can’t recommend this venue enough.

Great visit to the White Hart Inn, very well presented, lovely decor. Very friendly staff and function room available upon request with what I believe to be bed and breakfast rooms also available. Overall great pub in a great location.

Really really enjoyed the visit the meat pie wonderfully the service exceptional the area quite and remote but enjoyable will be going back ASAP 👍

We had our wedding at The White Hart Inn in October. Emma (our wedding coordinator) communicated quickly over email, answering any questions we had. We had a few meetings leading up to the big day which were super helpful and Emma was clear with the timeline of the day and the expectations we all had. We stayed in the room the night before and were well looked after. A big shout out goes to Lindsey for opening the bar area for us to enjoy and drink in as the restaurant was full! In the morning, we had a lovely breakfast hamper sent to the room whilst we got ready. Emma did a fantastic job at setting up the room with our decorations and worked tirelessly throughout the day to ensure our day was perfect. If there was anything wrong, we didn’t know about it! I can’t fault any of the staff there as everyone is so polite and helpful. Thank you so much for making our day so special.

Enjoyable meal with friends 😋 would go back

We've visited the restaurant and bar several times now, and it's always a great atmosphere and fantastic food. We've done a tasting menu, called in for a quick drink and booked a last minute meal out, always welcomed by friendly staff and a great choice of food and drink.

Stopped here for an overnight stay and dinner and the whole experience was flawless. The rooms and clean and comfortable, and the food was perfect with large portions.

Lovely meal brilliant staff worth every penny

Pleasant hotel with pub in the countryside. Despite the restaurant being closed (during the week in winter), I still had a great meal at sister company Horse & Jockey, where I was transported by the manager with shuttle Discovery.

Got married here just before Christmas. The venue is beautiful. The day was fantastic and our wedding coordinator Katy was an absolute star. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

First time at The White Hart. Ate in the restaurant, absolutely fantastic menu, you wish you could try more of the selection. Will definitely be returning to try more fantastic food.

Excellent food and setting. We booked a table for a meal with friends and we were pleasantly surprised to learn that both the a la carte and bar menu were being served in the restaurant with gave everyone something to choose that they would enjoy. The drinks were also great and service was brilliant. My only slight criticism was that the drinks took a long time to arrive but, we did order a fancy cocktail. We were also told that the cocktails were on a 2-4-1 however it wasn’t made clear that this did not apply to the day we were dining. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

Timely responses via email which dwindled off. Called and got us booked in no problems, pay on arrival. Price included breakfast for two. The place has clearly had a significant investment and is very well done up; fully restored countryside “farmhouse charm” with solid wood frame bed, table, and chairs in the room. Very well restored restaurant, fork and furrow, which had the same chunky but charming wood tables and chairs, but with a modern twist. Can tell the bar is a little tired, but everything else was so lovely it almost didn’t matter. I had ordered a two for one from their cocktail club menu. Unfortunately was far too sweet, like drinking cordial, but we went 50/50 on it so that was okay. Would return.
