Railway Inn Glenfield in Blaby

Organised a Sunday dinner for 11 plus dog, excellent and friendly service and prompt service. Would recommend.

This is usually my local pub and I’ve always enjoyed my experiences here other than today. We were told to be quiet as people are eating. We had only just stepped on the building and we were looking forward to sit down with a nice drink after work and to enjoy the nice weather. We wasn’t overly loud but to be welcomed by Laura with that put a bit of a dampener on our mood. I appreciate people are eating however it is still a pub and people should still be able to talk and enjoy their time. If people want a nice peaceful dinner they should go to an actual restaurant rather than a local pub where people are there to relax and enjoy themselves and have a laugh with their company. I’m quite disappointed with the approach we got today as we’ve always been quite jolly and it’s always usually been a nice environment.

i’m a local down the railway i’m in there every weekend, the way the bar staff were really disrespectful also i know and have witnessed the bar staff doing class A drugs

Went here for a work Christmas meal because we couldn't get in at our first choice of venue. The pub didn't feel particularly clean or warm (December). Food was not good - I opted for the main menu rather than festive menu and ordered a chicken & bacon salad. All I got was chicken, bacon and a bowl full of Iceberg lettuce. Surely that's not a salad? No tomatoes or onions as advertised .... couldn't they run to a bit of cucumber too? The irony was, my colleague who ordered macaroni cheese, got a lovely salad on the side with all the components you would expect to see in a salad. Really strange. The prices are low and this seemed a popular place for older people, but definitely not keen to visit again unfortunately and certainly wouldn't take kids - a few throw-back lunchtime drinkers hanging around the bar was off-putting.

Staff are great if I don't go back for the food , I'd go back for the staff

Nine of us today for lunch - food was delivered quickly, was hot, tasty and excellent value for money. Good solid pub food.

Lisa J & Laura welcomed us to The Railway. We had a lovely 3 course Christmas dinner here for a bargain price of 21.99. The food was lovely and piping hot. The service was excellent, would definitely recommend this place for food and drinks 👍👏

My mum and I were made very welcome at the railway inn at Glenfield. Alex, the guy that served us was truly lovely. The food is good classic food and the price is good. And it's open on a monday!

Not happy with our 1st and last visit to the railway. Went out with friends to this pub had table booked for a few weeks for 3pm. Expecting to all have a roast dinner. Went to order food to be told no roast dinners left. What sort of pub has no roast dinners left at 3pm on a Sunday. Unbelievable and very disappointing shall not be returning.

Visited the Railway Inn Glenfield a few weeks ago to break up the journey home while seeing family in Southern England. Upon arrival, the service was excellent showing as a sign of things to come with the great value prices of food and drink. True to form, it's only roast style dinners that's served on Sundays, however diners have option of unlimited Yorkshire Puddings and adding their own extras to the dinner which is a great touch to suit individual dietary requirements. All this within on reflection an unassuming looking pub on the outside, but one that caters for all needs inside. Above all, a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

New owners, much improved. Very good meal, many daily deals available. Laura and Lisa were really friendly and helpful. Lots of new outside seating which look great and safe if children are eating with parents. Would definitely recommend.

Multiple big screens for football, lots of seating inside and outside. Big outside space, both covered and uncovered areas. Do 10% NHS discount. Large car park to side.

We visited the railway today and we're greeted by two cheerful and extremely funny ladies. It definitely brightened up our morning ! We couldn't of asked for a warmer welcome. We will be back ! See you very soon ☺️

I come here every week for the pub quiz.

Ordered food here for my daughter on Sunday. Asked for fries they brought out waffles and said they were waffle fries. The beans with rock hard looked like they had been warmed up several times. Complained and the waitress just slammed the food back on the table and stated that's what we asked for. Disgusting service

The starters were brought out at the same time as the mains so by the time we had eaten the starters the mains were cooling. Didn't have two of the main dishes we wanted and portion sizes have shrunk massively to what we were used to. Very disappointed after eating here for years.

I can never fault the food when we go to the railway! Always cooked to perfection, steak was cooked perfectly medium well, steak and ale was lovely and the curry also nice! The staff are lovely, friendly, welcoming and approachable. The lovely lady who served me today was patient and didn’t rush us with our order and was very polite. As I said I can never fault anything here and will gladly return soon.

Didn’t have a table booked for the game last night, rookie error on my part, as a regular the bar staff looked after me and my partner when we came in and secured us a table. Food was banging! Can’t praise the staff enough, special mention to Lisa who made sure we had a great night. Best pub in glenfield. All staff were amazing

Went here to watch the England Denmark game. Great atmosphere loads of staff on so bar was efficient and even though the game was terrible the pub was great.

Food range is good and at a very reasonable price. Generally a good range of beers available although the bitter can be limited. Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Sometimes it can be a bit loud so can be difficult to have a conversation.

First time in after the renovations and it's a really great place now. Lots of screens for the sports, friendly staff and good beer. Also helped with a fundraiser for a good friend of mine. Went above and beyond and helped raised lots of money.

The chef Spencer cooked an amazing all day breakfast for two. So good. I’ll be back tomorrow

First time in this pub..a lovely clean comfortable modern pub..loved it here was a nice sunny day and found a nice suntrap in the back garden over a cold pint...bliss!!!

Had a lovely meal at the Railway on Tuesday. The bar is dog friendly. The food is very good and reasonably priced. The staff and very friendly and we will come again

Not the best place especially if your in wheelchair, if you need to use toilet you have to go outside and come in front door , no ramp from lower eating area

We went to the Railway for a post funeral get together. Staff were amazing, food brilliant, hot and plentiful. Veggie chilie was lovely. An amazing afternoon to celebrate the life of an amazing person really well accommodated by the team at the Railway. Many thanks 👍

Nice place, nice food, nice prices. Used to come here regular before it was refurbed, been twice since and both times were good. Would recommend if you want good food for a good price.

Really nice and clean local pub restaurant. The food is great, it's pub grub. It comes out nice and hot every time. If you can't be bothered to cook, get down there, I recommend the burgers, and I'm not a person who likes burgers, particularly. The service is really good. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. They have entertainment on in the evenings. Friday night bands and quiz nights, too, just ask at the bar.

Nice enough but a little generic and lacking original personality. Small number of hand pull ales on, the first beer we tried was horribly off (cloudy vinegar) and the staff were a little clueless but replaced it without question. Ordered some chicken wings which were tasty and good value. Few to many TVs for my liking, this js definitely a sports bar.

I'm new to the area, been here about 2weeks and not had any issues or problems here. Was greeted by one if the locals who's been here over 40yrs which was nice, staff are friendly and food is nice.

Came down with my partner and baby. Sat in the little huts at the back. We ordered from the small plates deal, 5 plates for £10.99. We ordered 10 thinking this would be tapas portions. Much to our surprise the portions were big! Would highly recommend, value your money is brilliant. Staff are chilled and polite. Good atmosphere. I came here years ago and standards have clearly changed for the better. To be constructive, the only problem I had was with the cleanliness of tables outside, still left over cig buds and dirty tables.

We came here because of its Google rating and it didn't disappoint! On arrival, all of the dining tables were reserved showing how popular it is, and there were only tall tables and bar stools left, which wouldn't work for our toddler. A staff member quickly offered us to use the private bar room which wasn't even open at the time. Our server Laura was very attentive and recommended a few dishes. The food came quickly and was definitely value for money and very tasty. We followed this up with a large portion of dessert - it would be rude not to at only £2.99! Lovely meal, friendly and clean atmosphere. We'll definitely be back again!

I went in and asked for my steak to be as rare as possible, when it came out it was perfect! It is hard to find places that do it as rare as I like it but Nathan did the most perfect blue steak I’ve had! Honestly cannot even explain how lovely it was! If you love your steak blue I would highly recommend trying it!

Won't be returning! Booked a table couple of weeks ago and when arrived told a table wasn't available as they had given it away! Returned tonight, again a table booked.. go to order food and told they aren't taking food orders but never mentioned when we mentioned our reservation!! Especially when you've ordered drinks aswell!! Won't be returning!! .. Further to my review, the restaurant had responded but I'm unable to respond to them so editing here; The table was booked under Lucy, ad she was apart of my party and made the booking. It was booked for 3 people.

The food was amazing and the staff are really friendly. We ordered the beef roast and the triple. We couldn't fault the food, welcoming and the service. We would Definitely recommend 👌

Just had a lovely meal with my daughter and grandson. The lovely lady behind the bar even gave my grandson a chocolate donut when we was leaving, which he was very happy about. Will be returning

Was in on Friday night to see the Elvis tribute act, unfortunately it’s was cancelled last minute due to illness, the team however did make it up but playing Elvis songs over the sound system, much to everyone’s delight! Everyone was singing and dancing along, including the staff were enjoying themselves despite it being quite busy! Hats off to the Railway team! Keep up the good work!
