Cochin Fort in Nottingham

I ordered two hours in advance (scheduled for 20:50 on a Thursday) via the JustEat website. 15 minutes before my delivery was due there was still no notification from the JustEat website stating my food was being prepared so I rang Cochin Fort to ensure my order hadn't been forgotten. Soon after my order was being prepared and arrived 5 minutes late so I would recommend anyone who orders at least a few hours in advance to ring the restaurant if there's no update on their food minutes before the order is due to arrive (just in case the restaurant has forgotten one's order). Also I hope whoever answers the phone doesn't talk unnecessarily while the customer is on the phone calmly explaining why they are calling (I didn't know what the representative was saying so guessing they couldn't hear me I had to ask 4 times if they could hear me before I finally got a confirmation they could and they were unknowingly being rude/making out like they couldn't hear me). The food definitely made up for the lack of the representative's phone etiquette and the fact the restaurant may have forgotten about my food order if I hadn't called minutes before my order was due. Authentic- looking, tasting (I'm of Indian descent myself) and the the food is significantly cheaper than those selling the same food so definitely value for money too. My (non-Indian) housemate said they'll definitely will be ordering from Cochin Fort in the future

Nice place to have Kerala style food. We ordered for a take away but there is a decent size place for dine in. Curries and beef fry was good but Porota was not up to the mark, the chicken biriyani was very good. Edit: Visited recently and the food has definitely improved a lot. We had Kerala Porota, beef fry, chicken kondattam and appam. All the dishes were really good especially the Porota.

The best authentic kerala restaurant i have been to in the UK. The food is remarkable. Additionally, the people there make you feel so comfortable, especially Kiran, who looks after the whole restaurant. A strong recommendation for anyone who wants to grab a bite of the real kerala! Do try the porotta !! YOU WONT REGRET IT ! TRUST ME

We have been ordering for a year and food and service is generally good. However, the new style of mixing sauce on chicken lollipop is pathetic as the dish was not eatable and had to be thrown away as too much sauce was applied. Had ordered before and taste was good when sauce was served separately Please note feedback for improvement as discussed on phone even if you want to continue mixing the lollipop and sauce Otherwise, have had no complaints in the past 1 yr on food, service and quality

I had a fantastic experience at Kochin Fort Kerala Restaurant in Nottingham. The Masala Dosa was crisp and flavorful, and the Kothu Porotta was rich and spicy—just like you'd find in South India. I also tried the Ghee Roast, Vada, Samosa, and Chicken Roll, all of which were freshly made and full of authentic taste. We were on our way back to Glasgow from London and made a quick stop in Nottingham to meet a friend. By chance, we discovered this Kerala restaurant—and what a pleasant surprise! We tried the kizhi porotta and paal porotta (first time trying paal porotta), and both were absolutely delicious. The food felt authentic and satisfying. Went back to CochinFort for their Vishu Sadhya after loving their Onam feast last year—and it was just as amazing! The spread had all the classics: banana chips, sharkara varatti, avial, thoran, sambar, rasam, kichadi, pulissery, and more. Everything was super flavorful and authentic. The highlight? The payasam duo—palada, and parippu, and —absolutely perfect. Great food, great service. Can’t wait to come back for the Onam Sadhya again!

Absolutely Loved the Food! I recently ordered from Cochin Fort and I’m honestly so impressed. I requested all the dishes to be made extra spicy and they delivered exactly that with full on flavour and the perfect amount of heat. I ordered chicken lollipop, chicken kondattam, mutton pepper varattu, garlic naan and Kerala parotta. Everything was cooked to perfection and packed with taste. Every dish I tried was delicious but the mutton pepper varattu with Kerala parotta completely blew my mind. If you’re into bold South Indian flavours and spice, this place is a must try. Will definitely be ordering again soon.

Went to this amazing restaurant on Eid Fitr to have dinner and I must say it is one of the best Kerala style restaurants in Nottingham. The taste of the food was amazing especially the Kizhi Porotta which had impressively authentic Kerala taste. Also, a special thanks to Kiran who was attentive and very friendly with us.

It was a pleasant surprise to all us who expected another "Indian" Restaurant in the East Midlands. Cochin Fort brings a piece of Kerala with it to Nottingham. The smells and tastes all reminiscent of a wayside eatery you may come across in Kerala. Made to feel right at home by welcoming staff ...The food is mouthwatering and doesn't break your purse.The staff even gave pointers to places of Interest in Nottingham (Greatly appreciated by those of us who came from a little way off) Will definitely recommend, and will definitely revisit.

Ordered a meal From this restaurant on a just eat app, it took the 1.30mins to get the food delivered. Just eat give you an ETD these guys mark the food as delivered and take forever to get the food. Also when the food arrived it was cold.

Had lunch with my friend on our way to Nottingham. Friendly staff ordered food and we got special kuthu porota with milk. It was delicious. They provide a lot of Kerala food and hence focus on the malayalee community in Nottingham. The parking was difficult to find as they only have street parking. Otherwise, the overall experience was excellent. They even took the names for Lucky draw for a trip to Turkey? On behalf of their anniversary

Beautiful authentic South Indian food with wonderful flavours and decently priced. Went with a friend and for starters we ordered mutton rolls which is a must try along with kingfish tawa fry, such good quality fish spiced with the right amount so it doesn’t mask the flavour of the fish- the mutton rolls were filled generously and crispy on the outside. For mains we had beef fry with parotta, definitely a highlight of the mains, such tender chunks of beef in a dry masala and perfect with a spritz of fresh lemon paired perfectly with a flaky malabar parotta and a refreshing zingy and sweet lemon and mint drink to wash it all down and cleanse your palette- will visit again!! All this came to £26 per person such a fair price for the amazing quality and amount of food we got

I had high expectations based on the reviews, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The service was slow, and the staff seemed unorganized, and a couple of dishes were served cold. While the ambience was pleasant, it didn't make up for the overall experience.

Overpriced for the quantity and quality served. The environment wasnt great. Other tables were left with the food plates and left over food not cleared, through out the time we were there. So was very suffocating with the food smell through out while we had food. First time we saw the tables not cleaned and cleared even an hour after customers who used them left. Not at all professional.
