The Bulls Well in Nottingham

This is one of my favourite places to go in Bulwell. The atmosphere is good, the music is great, the drinks are good and the staff are wonderful. Whenever we have people visiting we always make sure to try and bring them here for a drink.

A very well looked after local park

At the time of our visit, 80% of the occupants looked under 20. They certainly weren't there for the real ale since they were mostly drinking coke. They may have been a young crowd, but they were behaving. No issues.

Great find. Nice and quiet with a good selection of ales and largers.

The Bull's Well is Bulwell's first micro-pub. Well laid out, with many quirky features. They have a range of reasonably priced draft beers on tap which are changed regularly. I had not heard about the bar until friends made a suggestion of meeting there. Definitely a hiden gem.

Fantastic place much needed in Bulwell. Fantastic selection of real ale and high end top shelf spirits. Excellent and helpful bar staff. Would have no worries in recommending this venue to anyone. The food from the adjacent Bulls Well sandwich bar is top notch

Small micro pub, beer was excellent and staff friendly. Would be keen to go again. Nicest little pub I've seen in the area. Lots of cute dogs. Lucky dip crisps is quite fun.

A small bar with personality. Friendly!

Started going here as a time sink amidst dropping kids at various activities on a Sunday afternoon, and it is a hidden treasure. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the selection of drinks is spot on. Cocktails are reasonably priced and the craft on draft are varied and all delightful. A new Sunday tradition happily born.

Brilliant venue for family.. Great drinks and room hire for larger functions. Staff are pleasant and engaging. The drinks excellent and some cracking cocktails.. defo worth visiting

My favourite pub when I go back to visit family. Great events,games etc and real ales. Pop in and see for yourself. Always a friendly welcome.

Well they have Lenton Lane ales which are fantastic friendly staff and Chilli peanuts what more could you ask for.

We'd been meaning the this bar for ages & finally made it. The surroundings were very pleasant, the staff friendly, the beers good & we would have eaten there (if food was being served that evening) - however it's dog friendly. Fine if they are under control but jumping up, slobbering over you & being allowed on the tables? No thanks. The owners should insist on the animals being under control & not a nuisance if they are allowed in. Result? We left after 1 beer & probably won't return.

Great micro pub, had a nice chat with the lady working there last Saturday (Thanks Jez), nice central feature of a Nottingham built safe ! Beer fine on my visit a couple of Beermats brewery beers tried not my fave brewery but hey ho, quality was as it should be. 👍🍻 from me.

Great night great company, the crowd that we met in the Bulls Well were a great bunch, really welcoming, quiz night though, but still invited to play and enjoyed every minute, could be a regular for us from now on...

Excellent micro pub with all the ales looking on great condition. This would be the best place for a pint of real ale in the area so choose here to avoid disappointment.

Lovely little real ale pub worth a visit. Bar staff friendly and welcoming. Been on a few occasions and always enjoyed it. You can have a laugh with ' Pinky ' if she's behind the bar

Don't know much about the Bulls Well but there's a great vape shop next door

Finally got to visit this Micro after moving to the area a few weeks before the lockdowns started in early 2020. Absolutely delighted there is a venue of this kind in Bulwell and thoroughly enjoyed my visit with family members. It is exactly what you want from a drinking establishment with a calm relaxing chilled atmosphere. Clientel was superb and the barlady was very helpful and efficient. It also struck me as the kind of place you can visit and on your own enjot the world. The beers on offer were all very decent and I look forward to my return.

Went in for an ale... I asked is it still £3.00..She said no £3.50 a pint.I can't see how you can increase it by 50p...20p yes. I dread to think what sagres is now as it was £3.50 originally.. Probably £4.00!! I know you're not a free house and are told what to charge but it's Bulwell not Hockley!! So I will be reluctant to return as you know William Peverel is only £1.99 and £1.85 on a Monday.. 3 pints at your establishment =£10.50..same at Wetherspoons=£5.97...A no brainer.. And you do nothing for camra members and have no loyalty scheme. Don't get me wrong Bulls well Is cosy,nice design and probably a better clientele but I've never had a problem at the Peverel.

Bulwell has been crying out for a place like this for ages. Different real ales frequently which is a bonus and nice place.

Held our Golden wedding party there. 40 guests all reported having a great time. Charlotte behind bar in function room was the icing on the cake, as nothing was too much trouble. The buffet was just amazing and laid to perfection. Food was really good and well worth the money. Tracy who organized and cooked made it the special night we wanted. Can't thank her and Kerry anough. Definitely recommend this venue.

The is a cracking micro-pub. It's been open about a year but is already popular and relatively well known (except to taxi drivers!). I was there for a special occasion so used the function room only that they have upstairs. Whilst not a huge space, it can accommodate 40-50 people. If you have that many though, don't expect to be able to use the small dance floor!!! Drinks are obviously not as varied as what the have in the main bar, but prices are great. Only £1 for cans of soft drinks, just over £3 for draft beer and a tenner for a bottle of wine. Would also recommend using their catering too. We all enjoyed what was provided. As it's a small place, music is provided via Bluetooth from someone's phone to a speaker. The benefit is though that you get whatever genre you'd like, depending on the occasion.

Great beer, Sandwich bar, spirits. Whats not to love? Friendly staff too, great selection of ales and nice lagers. Look forward to coming back soon.

You will be hard-pressed to sit in here without talking to someone !! Nice and cozy with proper ale at sensible price 😀

We went for Afternoon Tea, stunning room, the food was fantastic, one of our party was gluten free and was fully catered for, food was beautiful and just a great experience, I would recommend this to anyone and believe me I am picky and hardly ever recommend places

We visited this micropub last night and had a lovely evening. The staff are friendly, the decor is lovely and there is a really good selection of real ales, cider and other alcoholic drinks. It was 'pie night' when we went and we enjoyed a really tasty, home made meal with a pint for 7 quid. Very impressed - we will be returning soon!

It lovely and small also have food it great it new tea room love to go back there with my family and friend. There have real ale beer.

Visited with my friend and have since returned vowing to sample the rest of the gins! The first visit, it was quite busy and nowehere to sit but the people in there made friendly conversation, not your typical bulwell pub, its got a nice atmosphere and you feel safe. Second time there was plenty of seating (bearing in mind it only seats about 20 people so quite small), but even so, great atmosphere. Same friendly girl who served us, knowledgeable on the gins, the pies are soooo nice! One of the nicest bars in bulwell by far, love it :)

I went in the sandwich bar and it was so good. They make anything you want in a sandwich. They are starting doing salads and a opening a tearoom up stairs. It also has a bar and outdoor seating

Popped here as recently started working in Bulwell and thought it looked interesting. Good size micro pub with nice décor and a good selection of all drinks including lagers which all micro pubs don't seem to have. Very friendly staff and clean toilets and nice ambience as phones cant be used except for texting so no noisy phone calls. Will be back

If you're visiting Bulwell and want a decent beer this is a place worth a visit. Cosy dog-friendly micropub.

Great place with cool decor, lots of wood but still modern. I like the row of cinema chairs. The taps had like three bitters on which isn't to my taste but the craft ale bottle selection is good.

Comfortable, easy going place to visit

After hearing that a small micro-pub had been opened in the place that I grew up in, I decided to have a ladies drinks out for my 50th. It is on the tram line and a bus route, so is very convenient to get to from the town centre. My friends found it pretty easily. It is a very new pub, small and friendly with cinema type seats on the back wall and a large window to see outside. The staff were very warm and the small pies that were served were odd ingredients but delicious. We stayed there until closing time chatting and it felt very comfortable to do so. If you need a good bar away from town the this is the place to be.

A breathe of fresh air for bulwell. A new pub in stark contrast to the other dives available. Good beers and nice quiet atmosphere.

OK as a micropub on previous visits, however, visited on Saturday afternoon with my wife, the pub was very busy and seemingly with exceptionally loud people. We found a place to sit whilst having a pint and when we got up to leave were then abused by people who had been on the table behind us and had been shouting instead of talking to each other, despite only sitting across a table, for apparently having moved the bench that they were sitting on whilst we'd been sat down. This turned into being shouted and sworn at as well as other verbal abuse as we were trying to leave. Very dissapointing as I had previously visited and had found the place to be ok. Certainly won't be going in again and suggest that the staff pay more attention to the behaviour and language of their patrons.

Very nicely decorated little micro. Great attention to detail has been paid. Well kept beer and very reasonable prices. Only criticism for me is that it needs background music to break the 'doctor's surgery' atmosphere at quiet times.

This place is amazing, would definitely recommend. They did an amazing platter for us that catered for everyone with different dietary needs. The presentation was also very impressive. The pricing is also very good for the quality and quantity you get. Tracey at The Bulls Well was lovely and came up with some amazing ideas for us. Everyone at the event loved the food and the set up of it all, there was a lot of hard work and care that went into it. Will definitely be going back for future events and the odd lunch.
