Cane on Mother’s Day food and service were brilliant, always is. Looking forward to coming back as always made to feel so welcome!

Thank you Dan and team for another excellent meal today. As ever the welcome was warm, the service excellent, and our starters of halloumi fries and panko prawns, followed by steak pie and gammon main courses were well presented and delicious. The kitchen was obviously busy, but food orders were very well managed. A lovely, relaxing Saturday lunch.

Amazing pub with great staff, immaculately clean inside and the food is fantastic, would highly recommend the fish and chips! Staff were all really helpful and friendly and we look forward to coming back again soon.

Table booked for four adults and a child, on arrival we had to stand around waiting for someone to acknowledge us, it was a Sunday so could be accepted if it was busy, but it really wasn't. Lead our table and seated had to ask for a high chair, no cutlery laid or drinks matts, so we thought these would be delivered before arrival of food. Not the case, orders for drinks taken then came back for food orders. A Kids meal, 3 roast pork dinners and a pasta dish. Average wait on the food, had to remind staff we didn't have cutlery on arrival, looked ok on the plate but on eating all the pork dinners were of an average temperature, minimal amount of meat and the veg had no flavour at all, roasties a massive none crispy under cooked disappointed. The past dish was inedible, bland no flavour, mushy with cheap unseasoned pasta. Kids meal was a good size, chicken strips were ok, chips so under cooked it was like boiled potato strips. Staff seemed friendly and did come to see if the food was satisfactory. We expressed our issues, pasta dish taken away and discounted off the bill, no replacement wanted. Two of us are the pork dinners more fore the fact we were hungry and expecting a good fill. Little one ate the chicken strips. It's such a shame, I had gone off the 5 * reviews and the word of mouth from someone, sadly it was not an enjoyable family meal. I like to give most places the benefit of the doubt but I wouldn't be going back to find out. Apologies no pictures, I was so let down I forgot to snap some. This is my review so do consider trying it yourself, maybe we just went on a bad day at a bad time

Myself and my wife went for Lunch today. We had the sharing platter off the main menu which had some of the most delicious chicken bites I have ever tasted..so good we thought of ordering some to walk back to our Airbnb with. The onion rings and skin on fries were a close second. The pub is modern, up to date and very clean with a good.sized garden at the back with plenty of seating and parking. The girls who were working today were very helpful, friendly and ready to recommend a few things from the menu . The menu has great choices and a lovely little lunchtime menu too We are hoping to come back soon 😊

It was disappointing i’ll tell you that, the halloumi fries were brilliant to be fair and so was the home made chips, but the roast beef was inedible,very tough . Would recommend The halloumi fries . The staff were very friendly.

Absolutely love this place. First came last year with family after my mums funeral. They were very accommodating as it was a walk in for 20. The food was amazing and we vowed to go back. Staff were very professional and polite. Have been back several times since, last being for Xmas fayre. Xmas fayre was amazing quality and value for money. We plan to return with the family to remember mums birthday.

Visited several times for meals always cooked to perfection. Sunday lunch did not disappoint the pork just melted in my mouth. All the vegetables are fresh and served piping hot. Would definitely recommend. Staff are welcoming, friendly and nothing too much trouble

Lovely village pub, excellent food, price for meals was around £13-14 a main which for the quality I felt was excellent value, definitely recommended.

Food was amazing but Ruth the waitress was the most rememberable part of our visit went out of her way for us thank you will be returning!

A very welcoming Bar/restaurant in a beautiful location with easy access. There is a lovely selection of foods and drinks available that are very reasonably priced. The tables are set far enough apart for you to have your privacy and leave enough room for wheelchair and mobility access. The staff are warm and welcoming, they can't do enough for you. It is very clean and well maintained. You will also find a variety of social activities here from live bands, weekly quizzes and events such as a Halloween party which is upcoming!! Highly recommended. One of the best in the area in my opinion by far.

Food was good quality and well presented. Table bit small for 9 people and food came out slow and in 2 parts so some food was cool when all the veg and gravy arrived.

Went for a meal tonight not the best of menus I had the steak which was okay but the wife had the pie it tasted like it was full of salt absolutely disgusting want be going back value for money is very poor

OMG the food was absolutely incredible. Delicious from start to finish. Amazing friendly staff and a beautiful clean welcoming atmosphere. What more could you want. This place is an absolute hidden gem. We shall definitely be returning, sooner rather than later. Cannot wait to go back for even more outstanding food and wonderful service. Had a beautiful Sunday dinner with my family, service brilliant, food delicious excellent value for money will deffinatly be recommending and visiting again.

Nice dog friendly pub, food met our needs exactly, normal good standard reasonably priced pub food without being OTT gastropub, we were on soft drinks, so can comment on beers.

Found by accident on way from Castleton to Lincoln Very friendly and fairly priced

Rang to check they were open today. Dan said yes and reserved a table for us for between 12.30 and 1.00pm. On arrival we were greeted by a young lady Victoria who made us feel more than welcome. Spoilt for choice on a super menu. Hubby chose Nottingham pie!!! Steak and ale pie with a crumble and Stilton topping instead of pastry. He loved it. I chose battered cod with chips and mushies. First class. Then Ruth checked all was well. Of course we said perfect, thank you. The food is absolutely 1st Class and prices are fine too. Before we left we booked for 2 future Sunday lunches. Hopefully we will be booking for many more. Unfortunately there is no Disability toilet, BUT no problem the ladies is very spacious and very nice too. Spotless toilets, as is the rest of the Blue Bell. Thank you Dan, Victoria, and Ruth. Jan & John.

Sat and had a Sunday roast and a cold pint in the sun trap beer garden! Staff very attentive, food piping hot and delicious. Very fresh and definitely a roast to remember. Lovely outside space to enjoy a cold drink in the summer.

Called for Sunday lunch didn't disappoint had the lamb cooked to perfection very tasty home cooked food nice atmosphere and very friendly staff ,will return again when passing though.

Went in for a Sunday lunch and had the lamb and beef. Phenomenally good, definitely the best in the local area. Would highly recommend. Particularly if Ruth is working that day. The only thing better than the food is her service. Food: 5 out of 5 Price: 5 out of 5 Ruth: 6 out of 5

Lovely Sunday dinner served by friendly staff

What can I say... We had a meal while camping . I can honestly say the service was amazing so friendly it felt like I was at home . But the food is just out of this world . This fish was the size of a whale. The chips where beautifully cooked so tasty. The home made lasagne was so tasty well cooked & presented just amazing. Burgers just sublime. The scampi with prawns just perfectly cooked & so tasty... All I can say is 6 meals 6very happy people. I can highly recommend this place for a great evening meal with friendly service thanks to Lotty & the staff . A big thanks to the chefs too.

Thoroughly enjoyed will certainly be back
