We had a wonderful meal here for my dad's birthday. The food was delicious with lots of wonderful choices on the menu, the service was fast and the staff were really lovely and attentive. We will definitely be back. My dad said that that was the best fish he has ever had!

We didn't stay over so can't rate the rooms. Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch, service was very friendly, nice atmosphere. Huge Yorkshire puddings, plenty of veg, red cabbage in particular was very nice. It was also handy to be able to bring the pup as he's not use to being left alone yet. Roaring log fire meant it was nice and warm. We will definitely be back and highly recommend!!

Called in on Boxing Day for a pint, ended up having a selection of starters and wow!!! The food the service and the hospitality were all great. Definitely coming back for an evening meal asap. Well recommended

Visited with my daughter & son-in-law ' As my visit before everything was perfect The Staff were so attentive making sure we were happy with the food. When booking on line I informed that I was gluten free. On arrival I was asked if I was Coeliac . That is the first time I have been asked that, in all the times i have visited Pubs & eating places . Lovely to have a choice of the desserts as usually it's ice-cream or nothing . Please pay a visit as I am sure you won't be disappointed Can't wait for next visit. Monica Holden

We had a Christmas meal, the group were impressed with the wonderful meal, I was very impressed with my Kale, Apricot roast with butternut puree that decorated across the plate edged with a chutney - and exquisite combination that I had never thought of. Lovely location on a walk along a canal. Lovely, smiling, friendly staff, excellent service, they were dealing with 27 of us and nothing was too much trouble. I shall be returning. If I lived closer, it would 100% be on my list as MY local to frequent. Thank you to the proprietor and staff for making us so welcome & wonderful meal. From a fussy, veggie!

Great village pub with really good food and a good selection of drinks. Well worth a visit

A absolute little gem of a pub in a lovely village The owners are great and they have one of the best selections of drinks on the tap that you will find anywhere.

Just been for a Sunday dinner at the boat in, The food is one of the best Meals I’ve had in a long time, The alcohol which is always a big thing for me, they have Hawkstons Beer and cider, which is out of this world the ladies had two fantastic bottles of rosé wine and my uncle had makers Mark whiskey, In our opinion, outstanding quality choice of alcoholic beverages. Onto the food, we all agreed the food was outstanding the best in the area From the Sunday roast to the amazing burgers to my wife’s beautiful Seabass and my sister who said her mushroom Wellington (vegetarian) was outstanding Onto the pudding, Apple and blackberry Crumble with cream amazing one of my favourites my uncle did have the sticky toffee pudding which looked very silky smooth I can not remember the other pudding but the plate was clean so I’m assuming the 15 year-old enjoyed it Service Nothing was too much trouble Anything you wanted it was there within seconds of fantastic service very polite very professional loved it Extras Get the cauliflower cheese as an extra Should I say get two You will not be disappointed, and yes, you will Eat them Go for the sorbet and also drop a vodka on it mind blowing my uncle 78 never had it before absolutely loved it Entertainment, which is very unusual We had a magician to our table and he was absolutely out of this world very entertaining totally unexpected but we all loved him Have not been to this restaurant for about eight years looking forward to our next trip You doing something quite special here keep it going xxx

Went for tea on Saturday and would highly recommend. Great host, great food and lovely homely surroundings complete with log burner. We will return.

Had Sunday lunch today. Excellent service; excellent food and owners lovely. Cannot recommend this place enough. Prices are fair too. Highly recommend- give it a go.

Visited last Sunday with my wife and was fairly dissapointed with our experience. The prawn cocktail was far too filling and prices were extremely expensive. Saw many of times the young waitresses were on their phones most of the time while on shift.

The festive menu was delicious. Service was superb. Great setting, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Booking for 7 people, we arrived at the same time as another group and was quickly shown to our table where the drinks order was taken. Once the drinks had arrived the food order was taken. Garlic mushrooms on toast was my choice and it was delicious. Ribs, hanging kebabs,pie ,gammon steak and ribeye were all ordered. Puddings then followed and coffee was the best I've had in a long time. Definitely worth a trip but go hungry, portions aren't small.

We stumbled across The Boat after a holiday in Sherwood Forest and we're in need of a good Sunday roast. The food was really really good. 2 adults and 2 children all had the roast beef and all the trimmings. Generous portions of really well cooked and prepared food meant we carried on up the A1 very happy!

Only popped in for a drink on a bike ride but made to feel very welcome in this lovely pub by the canal. The food looked lovely and very generous and the cask beer was excellent. Will return.

I have been before in the week and really enjoyed so recommended to friends . Was not disappointed 😀 5 of us for Sunday lunch. 2 beef, 1 pork , 1 duck and 1 chicken supreme. All were delicious and good portions. 3 crumble and 2 sticky toffee pudding 1 with ice cream 1 with cream. Only complaint Not enough custard or cream Service was spot on and quick. Will be back for sure 😀

Went for Sunday Lunch after recommendation and will be returning. Lovely welcome from Hosts and all staff attentive. Great menu but we chose the Roasts. Beef exceptional, served pink with the perfect gravy. Unfortunately they had ran out of Cauliflower Cheese (we went late in the day and they had been extremely busy). This is an optional extra but to be honest it didn’t spoil what was a wonderful meal. Drinks very reasonable with extensive wine menu.

Thanks again for some excellent food, great service. Steak night is a must. Will definitely be visiting again.

Excellent in every way. The rooms have everything you need and are great value for money. The wifi needs sorting but it's not something you can't live without. Now the food and service. Absolutely 5 stars from us. From the lovely waiter and waitress to the owners and chef they all go out their way to ensure everything is perfect. The area has beautiful surroundings and they have a garden with an outdoor bar, they have thought of everything. The food is outstanding with reasonably priced mains. I do think some of the starters and deserts are on the high side but the quality is excellent. We have now been 3 times and each time everything has been perfect. Top tip. The Bulgarian Wine is lovely.

The food was tasty - lovely flavours - but the meat was dry and the roast potatoes had clearly been reheated and were very tough. The staff were all very welcoming.

Delicious Sunday lunch, great value and good quality food. Lovely ambience, we were lucky enough to sit outside in the sunshine. Absolutely lovely waitress, could not have been more polite, friendly and efficient. Sadly we didn’t get her name, but blonde hair and a lovely attitude! Great staff, good food and great drink selection (cask ales). We went on a Friday evening and there was live music.

Excellent location for all events, have been here for evening meals and lunch or for a drink. All excellent, recently used for a wake, staff were excellent and made everything very easy with brilliant service.

Right by the canal, we stopped for a drink and to watch the boats while our granddaughter played in the outside play area. Very pleasant.

Hands down the best roast dinner we’ve had so far!! Not only was the food lovely but so were the members of staff/owners, very welcoming, we had a really nice time and have already rebooked to go again! 😍

We actually had our wedding here at The Boat Inn and let me tell you, it was an absolutely fantastic day. Catalin and his staff ensured we had the best of times, the food was fantastic and the service even better. If you’re looking for a venue or just some grub and a pint this is the place for you! Not only is the food and the service fantastic I happen to know the owner Catalin personally and he is a top man who really cares for his staff and really takes care of everyone. If you want to support a local pub ran by a true family man and eat some fantastic food this is the one for you !

Location on canal front stunning! Food amazing seafood special worth every penny super filling & so flavourful was brilliant & not rate this enough. Have stayed in rooms before & they provide everything you need for standard stay.

Sunday dinner with family was amazing at The Boat Inn; Great atmosphere , amazing staff , quick service, and lots of fun with the magician Afromagic what goes around the tables making your visit a mixture of holiday mood and quality time spent with kids and family Also we had a party organised after our daughter Christening , everything was done in a professional way from the decoration of the restaurant room to the quality of food service and to the staff positive attitude. We booked a table for 7 ppl for Sunday lunch to celebrate my hubby’s birthday. As always, the food is beautiful and served with perfect timing. The owners are lovely, very welcoming & friendly. We didn’t ask for anything special but they brought out a dessert for hubby with a candle to wish him happy birthday. That was a very nice gesture. Beautiful place, can’t wait for further visits.

Absolutely beautiful business! Very accommodating and incredibly friendly would recommend to all family and friends. The staff are Lovely and the owners are honestly incredible and so friendly they can’t do enough for you! The food is out of this world 5 Star standard absolutely delicious. The location is convenient and tucked away in the country side with lovely walks surrounding the property. :))

Absolutely beautiful pub/restaurant! The food was gorgeous and all homemade. The service was great and all amazing staff, will definitely be visiting again! Especially loved the cocktails aswell and they have a great selection of drinks to choose from. The rooms are also lovely and cosy all at a great price!

Moored our boat near The Boat Inn today. Often wondered what it was like in there. Now I know that it's really nice and dog friendly, with nice people running it. I now will return to eat there.

Fabulous first visit to the Boat. My husband and I came for dinner. This is not just your run of the mill acceptable pub group...it was in another league. There was just the right amount of choice on the menu and everything was absolutely mouth watering. We were both delighted with our choices and so, so glad we finally got round to calling. Service was Fabulous, very friendly and welcoming. Cannot wait for our next visit. Thank you so much.
