Visited with my wife and friends. Must say we had no complaints about the food which was excellent. I haven't given it full marks because it was so cold in the area where we sat. My wife asked if we could move into the room where the fire was as at that time nobody was sat in there but was told that we couldn't. Will wait until summer before we return.

A tragic way to spend a night. Police arresting a man on entry. Dank smell in the room. Diabolical pillows and nothing but regret

Beautiful setting. Lovely old building. Friendly staff. Basic no frills menu. Dog and child friendly. Though we're gutted there's no children's play area. This would complete it nicely.

Absolutely delicious soup and bread. Great range of choice in a lovely setting. The waiter apologised for being slow as he was new, but was so polite we couldn’t be cross - I was a new waitress once.

Had a lovely morning at the Spa and received some excellent service from Sam and the beauty therapists. I want to stress that this poor review is not a reflection of our stay and spa experience. However our lunch at the Claret jug was underwhelming to put it nicely. Ewie appeared to only serve men, ignoring myself and a friend at the till. When we finally got served she paused our order to speak to the men behind. There were several issues with our order including items missing, the smallest portion of fries I’ve ever seen for £4.50 and items not coming out as described on the menu. Ewie ignored us on multiple occasions, rolled her eyes at us and did not care to make it a nice experience. But made sure to take great care of the men on the table behind. Won’t be returning. If it was possible to give a 0 stars I would.

Having been keen to see it open after flooding at Christmas it was such a shame that it took 40 minutes waiting for coffee. The sit wait to be asked what you want simply makes the process longer. To be able to use a machine to get a drink or help yourself to a snack would free up the many staff from running around. It’s been closed for repairs and renovations for 4 months. It is a shame that this was not used as an opportunity to improve processes and efficiency which would have made it a better experience. It’s like nothings changed.

Do not order from here absolutely shocking. I’ve left a photo of what you actually get and there was meant to be chocolate sauce. Doesn’t look anything like the photos they have. Waffle is like rubber and fruit taste old far from fresh. Just spent £27 on crap chucked it to the dogs. Thanks for the waste of time a money rip off Wouldn’t give you one star if I could

Wir waren abends hier, fanden einen sehr gepflegten Gastraum vor, der Service war sehr freundlich und kompetent, unaufdringlich aber aufmerksam - einfach so, wie es sein soll. Die Speisen waren sehr schmackhaft, das Angebot gross und mit dem netten Zusatz: es gibt zusätzlich einige sehr gute nepalesische Gerichte, begleitet von nepalesischem Bier (in UK gebraut) - eine nette Besonderheit. Eine klare Empfehlung für Liebhaber indischer Küche.

Sadly, The Rose has closed down, and is now all boarded up. There had been a "For Sale" notice last month, but even this has gone. From a local resident.

Realmente decepcionado después de recomendarlo a amigos después de visitar durante toda mi infancia. La salsa satay era extremadamente acuosa y no tenía la textura que cabría esperar de la salsa satay, ¡además no sabía nada parecido! Comida grasienta y fría, no como solía ser, lo cual es una pena. Además, el restaurante cerró temprano por 30 minutos, lo que significa que no podíamos volver y hablar con el equipo sobre esto cuando nos dimos cuenta de inmediato de que la comida estaba fría e insuficiente.

Have visited the cafe many times. always had great a experience. We order cakes from time to time to have at home, always the best quality and great prices. next on the list is to have the afternoon tea which looks amazing. can not speak highly enough of the staff and the food. Dave Nutt.

Ive been here many times over the years it always been exceptional. It’s a lovely place to stop for refreshments a food while enjoying Whyndam Park.

We order from here regularly but this driver who’ve I’ve never seen before has got an attitude that stinks. Think he needs to learn basic manners! Appalled!!
