I'am not really sure what the negative reviews are all about to be honest. We booked a table for 4 and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome, the front of house staff were really nice, helpful and chatty. They asked about allergies at the start. We ordered a set meal for four comprising crackers, starters soup and then mains.....all of which were superb...highlights for me was the prawn toast and won ton for starters...not really had soup at a Chinese restaurant before but that was so nice...choice of chicken or crab...then the mains....well there was 4 and then we ordered chicken balls extra....the balls were a sensation as was the duck dish...actually there wasn't anything we didn't like and the serving plates were empty. Extra special fried rice was served when we asked and that on its own was really good too. Everything we had came out hot. We all had the 'Sun lik' larger on tap which was also very nice...the lady owner was so attentive, making sure we knew what we were ordering, answering our questions and just really having abit of banter with us too. Great night. All in all a good quality very tasty meal thank you.

We made a table booking for Tuesday and it was our first time visiting. We were met with a friendly welcome by the gentleman behind the bar. We both decided to have the beef, Stilton and rocket foccacia, which came with crisp and coleslaw. We also ordered a side of chunky chips, all washed down with a couple of pints of beer for my husband and a couple of glasses of Pinot Grigio for me. Our food, which was bought out by a friendly and professional lady, was delicious 😋 We enjoyed our visit so much, we have booked to visit again this Saturday.

Had a lovely stay. Staff were very helpful moving one of our rooms so we could be close together, very friendly and welcoming. The pool was great for the children and adults can also enjoy the steam and sauna rooms. Arrived quite late to breakfast but the staff (Jane in particular) were extremely accommodating bringing out fresh food from the kitchen for us. They were also very friendly with my children. Would definitely return again.

Use this place all the time, mostly for coffee and cake and always been happy but today very disappointed with breakfast. We were told a 30 min wait which was bad enough but had to go and chase after 45 mins! Told it was being platted up and did arrive in 2 mins but all the cooked food was quite cold, some very cold! Very disappointed as had teenage grandson with us and was looking forward to it. Will stick to non cooked items in future!

Stopped for a quick lunch on journey to Northumberland as didn't fancy McDonald's and had used this branch before. However there was very little food, only one sandwich or egg bites!! Had to resort to crisps and cake. Despite this the service was superb, courteous, friendly and helpful staff. Hopefully next time there will be savoury food available.

Good beer, good atmosphere, friendly staff and great food.

Very good food and excellent service and great ambience. We much enjoyed a birthday celebration dinner. The cod and sirloin steak were both exemplary and we would certainly go again.
