Very friendly helpful staff. Nice location just across from Belton House which we also visited. Good selection to choose from. All the members of our family were very pleased with the choices they made. Will certainly return when next in the area.

We went there for an afternoon tea. I ordered the ginger cake and my wife ordered the chocolate cake. The queue looked long but given the number of tills it moved quickly. The tea and cakes arrived very quickly. The slices were the biggest I have ever seen. The ginger cake was perfect. Plenty of tea in the large teapot as well. We will be back

One walks into a light, airy room with many tables to choose from. At times there is a queue to order but it is dispelled rapidly by very efficient, polite staff (apart from the occasional, troublesome jumped up customers!!!) The choice of deserts is on display in a chilled, enclosed cabinet and a delight to see. once your order is taken, you sit down and your order is delivered to your table. I chose scampi. What a great choice… not your tiny bit of something in loads of batter but a proper scampi in light batter. Nicely cocked chips. Desert… well let me tell you… the meringue nest with whipped cream and berries was second to none. Fresh and tasty. My tea at the end didn’t disappoint either. Strong, tasty and hot… So, would I go there again?? Absolutely I would!!!

Been coming here years for either cake and coffee in the afternoon or a light lunch. Never had any issues and there are always plenty of cake options available. Lots of seating in a large, modern yet homely space. Big free car park and nice to see the Christmas decs around that time- although eye watering prices. The sausages served are the delicious “Boston sausage's” and whilst I’m in no way saying the other reviews aren’t right in saying their sausages weren’t cooked, I do know that when we buy and cook them at home, we also question wether we’ve cooked them long enough as they do have a pink appearance and they’re “crumbly” when cut- they’re still the most tasty and our favourite though!

I’ve been here for breakfast a few times but after today’s experience, my husband and I will not be back! He ordered the full English Breakfast and it had to be sent back. The bacon was inedible as it was so overcooked and the fried egg resembled a squash ball. When it came back it was better, although the sausages were pink inside and there was no butter for the toast. We were told that the sausages are supposed to be like that, due to the way they are cured. I ordered the Avocado Sourdough. The poached eggs were perfect but the crushed avocado was guacamole with chilli in it - not mentioned on the menu, and I am not a fan of chilli! The rocket was limp and to be honest, I was surprised that they thought it acceptable to serve it! It was appalling. My food was also sent back. My son ordered the bacon and scrambled eggs. His bacon was also overcooked, as was the egg and again, no butter was provided for the toast. We were offered complimentary drinks by way of an apology, but we had spent £30 for a really substandard breakfast, and that just wasn’t going to make up for the disappointment!

The young lady who served us was clearly not up for smiling. She was rather grumpy and was not terribly helpful when we asked her a few questions. Otherwise the other staff were smiley when food was delivered. The star of the show was the delicious roll we had… no need for sauce here as the ingredients were so good . Will definitely return

Dropped in here in passing this morning to grab a breakfast on route. Had two Full English Breakfasts with tea. Thought it was a little pricey but the service was friendly, the food wholesome and well cooked and everything arrived promptly. We sat inside near the windows and must admit it was a little too warm with the sun playing on the windows at that time in the morning. Bur everything said and done it was pleasant and enjoyable. We would definitely go again.

Absolutely love this place! This is a regular visit for myself and my family before or after a visit to Belton House which is just over the road. We went today and were greeted by the lovely front of house staff. We found a table near the window so we could look out towards the flowers sold at the garden centre. I opted for the Belton bap which was amazing! It was the first time I’d had it - the onion chutney made it even better! My partner had a breakfast and said it tasted really good and all the food was fresh and made to order. We did have a slight delay on the food but didn’t mind as they were busy and the food is worth it. Once we’d finished we walked back through the garden centre to pick up some sausages (same ones in the baps) and some eggs. Would recommend this place to anyone and we will definitely be returning!!

Would give a minus if possible. We were told there was a 30 minute wait for food as apparently they were very busy yet plenty of staff could stand around and chat amongst themselves. My son ordered the chips, cheese and bacon and it was ridiculously greasy, the rest of us ordered the Belton Bap. The baps were full of red onion, not a chutney or red onion marmalade like advertised, even worse the sausages were really pink inside. When we questioned it we were told they’re meant to be that colour as they contain a dye and the same ones are apparently available in the shop. Funnily enough not all of the sausages were so pink so clearly it’s not the case. No interest in helping to resolve the issue and now two family members have upset stomachs. Really high prices for really bad food and terrible customer service. I’ve been plenty of times before but will not be returning and would not advise others to go either.

Its either overpriced, or I can say you get small portions, I had a roast with tasteless roast potatoes, dry sliced beef, smallest gravy pot ever, excessive long wait where food comes out in dribs and drabs, my food came out 15mins after friends, its nice to eat together, no check in from staff, and no apologies for the delay, even after they said they had misplaced my order. Nice decor and location.

Lovely food and was quickly brought out regardless of how busy it was. My only issue was the highchairs, they are very dangerous with no straps or a leg separator meaning my daughter slipped through the bottom and got trapped. She was very upset but we managed to get her out.

Called for coffee and cake today. I had a cheese scone which was served with plenty of butter (often this is scant), and a piece of millionaires shortbread. Both appeared to be made in house and delicious. Husband had a sausage roll that had plenty of sausage and a slice of cherry Bakewell tart, again both appeared to be made in house. Husband said this was the very best Bakewell tart he had ever had and even said so to the restaurant manager. The restaurant was lovely and spacious, very clean and the servers very efficient. We were greeted at the tills by a lovely young lady ( Liz ) massive smile and cheerful good morning. Took our table number and order and said our drinks would be brought over shortly. A few minutes later she was the one to bring over our order, checked if everything was alright, offered us a sauce selection again with a lovely genuine smile . Husband really enjoyed his full English which was cooked perfectly and presented beautifully, I had beans on toast and they were nice and hot and good quality beans. I did watch Liz as I was eating and her interaction with customers and her colleagues is wonderful, she must be a joy to work with. I asked a senior member of staff if I was okay to give Liz a gratitude, because she really deserved it. 😁

We visited on Valentine’s Day and had the roast of the day which was pork, which came with lots of vegetables and all the trimmings. The meal was excellent, better than the Christmas dinner we had on a previous visit. The restaurant is always busy, and there is a queue to “wait to be seated” but a table was found quite quickly once we got to the head of the queue. There was then a lengthy queue to order food at the counter. It was well worth the wait when it came though!

Met up with 3 colleagues for lunch today, all of us used to work in schools locally and we regularly meet up at Belton Garden Centre. We were able to walk straight in with no queuing and found a suitable table easily. The restaurant was relatively busy but it didn't take us long to get settled and select what we wanted to eat for lunch. There was no waiting about and no queuing at the counter. We had a Ham Sandwich on GF bread, a Coronation Chicken sandwich, a Cheese and Ham Toastie and a Cheese and Pineapple Toastie. All came with side salad and the toasties came with French Fries and the sandwiches were served with crisps. Drinks came almost immediately after ordering and the food followed promptly. With the log fire roaring away merrily and the attractively decorated Christmas Tree adding to the ambience of the restaurant, we enjoyed our food and our visit once again.

My wife ordered a bacon and egg bap on gluten free bread. When it arrived, it was sitting in a puddle of oil, and when she picked it up, the oil just ran out of it. She tried to mop up the oil with 3 serviettes, and in the end couldn’t eat it because it was too greasy, and the bread had gone sloppy. Ok, we should have complained there and then, rather than trying to soldier on, but there you go. I had a tuna melt panini and my daughter had a Brie and cranberry one. Both were strangely tasteless. Oh well, we won’t be back

Have visited and eaten here before and noticed they are not very dog friendly as no proper indoor area to eat. However, now having a dog again, we found that the service is very poor. On arrival was firmly told that dogs are NOT allowed in the main restaurant, which is okay but not a friendly approach to customers, it is a garden centre and most people with dogs will come and look around and have lunch. I contacted the centre prior to our visit to ask if they catered for customers with dogs for lunch at the garden centre and was told there was the "Dog House", approx 8 tables, indoors and heated. NOT! When we found the place it's and old dilapidated stable(?) no heating and no menus. Had to walk back to the main restaurant to get menus, then was told you have to come and get your own meals out there, (indoors it is waitress service)! I found the attitude very poor, we are still paying customers who just happen to be dog minded. Belton need to concentrate on all their customers. The drinks and meals were eventually brought out to us after a few words of discussion, but I will definitely not be recommending a visit to our friends. It is not a 5 star restaurant, and I believe Belton owners need to re-think their dog friendly policy and provide a clean and welcoming eating area, with heating, waitress service ,and menus. Cannot believe the attitude of money before customers!

After waiting nearly half an hour for the Sunday lunch to be served, we were expecting it to be freshly prepared, flavoursome and alot more than we received. Not THE worst Sunday lunch I’ve ever had… but a close second, and I’ve had a a lot of Sunday roasts. I’m not the biggest fan of pork - would have preferred lamb or beef but that’s all they had. The pork looked like it had come out of a packet, certainly wasn’t freshly carved being as thin as it was - looked machine cut. The 3 small roast potatoes were frozen Aunt Bessie types?! 2 small broccoli florets that were so overcooked they fell apart when you picked them up. A spoonful of overcooked carrots and 3 tiny, almost burnt parsnips. Add to that a dry Yorkshire Pudding that we couldn’t soften with gravy as we were given a doll’s house size gravy boat?! Well over priced for a badly cooked tiny portion. Now I can see why most people were having burgers and chips instead on a Sunday.

Called in for a drink and a look around after visiting Belton house across the road. When we were leaving we noticed several fowl (peacocks/hens, a cockerel and others??) locked up in an enclosure that was far too small for these large birds. But worse they were on hard gravel!! Who on earth thought this was suitable I cannot imagine. Obviously someone that knows nothing and worse, does not care about the animals needs. They need to peck and scratch at the ground and unable to do this and be shut up, they must be bored out of their minds. This is animal cruelty. I wish I had not spent anything in the cafe and will certainly never return.

My two friends and I have visited the cafe regularly for lunch over the past 7 years and have always enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. However, since opening up after lockdown, we feel the food choices are very limited and the quality has deteriorated...

We visited Belton Garden Centre 3/8/21. Whilst there is plenty of stock it is poorly laid out. Areas of the shop are empty with other areas overcrowded (consessions excepted). Not only is this irritating to those who choose to social distance where possible, and is...

Visited for lunch. At the back of the neat and tidy garden centre. Good covid precautions. Friendly detailed welcome. Good menu, even though “reduced” at the moment. Friendly table service after easy ordering. Spotless toilets on same level

We happened upon this garden centre and we thought it was well worth visiting. We did not try the Café so cannot comment on that. Friendly staff, looking forward to visiting again if we are in that area.

We’ve been visiting Belton Garden Centre cafe now for years and was certainly looking forward to returning after the 17th May, but oh dear, how disappointing. While we appreciate that hospitality has, during the pandemic taken a huge hit we certainly feel that Belton Garden...

Great setting and buildings. Good selection of household goods, gifts, local produce and garden products. Typical of most higher end garden centres. The cafe is just OK. I had a coronation chicken sandwich it was a little dry. The soup was good. Kids chicken nugget...

Unfortunately wasn’t very happy, with the last couple of visits we have visited breakfast is usually lovely, but the last couple of visits now and the sausages had no colour on the outside at all and when you cut into them, they were raw!.put us off our breakfasts! The staff member was polite and apologetic, not charging for the faulty food, unfortunately she said it was busy, this is no excuse, a separate person cooks the hot food the drinks and cakes are served by other staff, we were the only ones with a cooked breakfast, everyone else had cake and tea!. What a shame, as we use it quite often!.

Everything is just deep fried. Sausages straight into the fryer then burnt to a crisp on the grill, black pudding straight out of the freezer into the microwave then deep fryer. Money touched then straight back to food handling. Disgusting waste of £14. Straight in the bin
