The best restaurants in Rutland East Midlands

Overall, it was a very disappointing evening. The recent reviews suggest a much better food experience, however we found it was a decidly average curry. Worst of all was the live music. We arrived and thought it was karaoke night however no that was the live act! The volume was very high, so we couldn't have a conversation over our meal and could barely hear the waiters. We would not recommend and will not return

Found this place by accident and had a delicious lunch with a huge pot of tea, the food and service were both excellent. It’s a shame we are from Norwich and unlikely to visit Oakham again soon

We went for Sunday lunch here. Amazing service and food. Best roast beef I've had for a while. I look forward to going back again soon.

Good dining pub that also seems popular with the locals for a drink. Visited on a wet midweek evening but the place was quite busy with a nice ambience. Service was very good - lady behind the bar happy to let me sample the real ales and the young waitress was efficient and friendly, even though she was new to the job. Had steak pie with mash and veg - pie very good, with plenty gravy, although veg could have been more generous and a little better.

Otters do the best bacon sandwich in Rutland. No - the best bacon sandwich anywhere. This is a very good place with interesting food - efficient staff- and good ambience. It's the sort of place that when you see the next tables food come out you wish you had ordered that too.

Great food served here in a pretty setting. Recommend highly for food quality and a relaxing atmosphere. The bread is delicious and served in the best nearby restaurants.

We as a family, have had two Sunday lunches at the Green Dragon, both meals were lovely. Staff are warm and welcoming, great choice of drinks ,all served in traditional and comfortable surroundings. Brilliant local pub. Thank you.

We had an absolutely delicious meal tonight! We have wanted to visit on many occasions and it’s just never happened, well we’re SO GLAD it did tonight!! Everything was perfect and Rafael made us feel so comfortable and welcome. For starters, we had a tomato & mozzarella salad, garlic bread and scallops, and for mains we ordered the lasagne and finished with an incredible tiramisu. We definitely can’t forget the most delicious chilli oil ever which was topped up on several ocassion nicely! We can’t wait to return, all staff were very attentive, thank you to all who served us. Carried out an extra debit on my bank card for £50 and never gave it back just ignored messages avoid it’s a scam to stay here and grim!

Lovely service, dog friendly (always a bonus). We were seated and served quickly. Very welcoming and friendly. My friend asked for cheese & tomato sandwich on multi grain bread and I ordered jacket potato with cheese & coleslaw. The sandwich came loaded with cheese, with salad and crisps and the potato came with a small sprinkle of cheese and a small spoonful of coleslaw and it felt a little mean as toppings were £1 each!

Absolute friendly efficient service,good selection on menu,quick service and nice setting can highly recommend it excellent restaurant, and does not break the bank
